Problem with Premiere Pro CC _ Will not start

I have the following problem, which I hope you can solve for me.  There are written the following text when the program started up:
"" Premiere Pro CC has stopped working and the Adobe Media Encoder has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows closes the program and notifies you if a solution is available. ""
What is wrong, can I possibly do anything to get it to work properly again?
Sincerely, Jan Michael Nielsen. Billund. Denmark.

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Do you have dual graphics adapters?
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

  • Premiere Pro 1.5 will not load

    Hi,
After quite a period 'away' from editing thought it about time to get back into it.  However, my Premiere Pro 1.5 will not start on my computer.  It (normally) gets to the loading Wave_Warp AEX, stops, thinks about it for a while and then the computer re-boots itself!  It works fine on my laptop and I even tried it on my wifes desktop with no problems.  I have tried everything that I can think of to stop this happening, including a full system restore with hard drive format thinking a clean HDD would be okay, but no, the same result.  I suspect there is a compatability issue with this computer, which is a Hewlett Packard Media machine running Win XP Media version.  Any help/advice much appreciated - I've already spent a lot of time trying to get this to work and thats before I've started editing!
PS  I'm very much a 'home user' and so do not want to go to the expense again of upgrading, only to find that would have the same problem - I did have an old 'trial' version of Pro 2.0, but that had the same result, the computer re-boots during loading.
    Many thanks
    mkn

Thanks again for the replies.  Harm, I would like to do what you suggest but not entirely sure on how to do it.  The only discs I have are the ones I made when I first got the computer (its a Hewlett-Packard) and they are the standard 'restore' discs.  If I 'format' the c drive, ie erase everything and then do a restore with the rescue discs would that give the correct response or do I need to get a proper, full install (of say Windows 7)?
Jim, ironically I was getting a hunch that it may be a memory module.  It has 2 GB consisting of 4 times 512 banks.  When I first got the computer one of the banks failed and was replaced under warranty but in that instance the entire computer would not start.  Having said that, i'm sure this a communication problem between the software and the computer.  It fails after the last 'loading' instruction (something like Wave_AEX), or, occasionally it gets past that onto the normal workspace but will then fail anytime within the next 15 secs or so.
Next job will be to systematically remove a memry bank at a time to see if I can isolate it that way.  If that doeas not work then i'll do as Harm suggests.
    Thanks again.

  • I have 64 bit windows 7 and CS4 Production Premium. I have a problem with Premiere Pro CS4, it keeps

I have 64 bit windows 7 and CS4 Production Premium. I have a problem with Premiere Pro CS4, it keeps freezing and Crashing. A simple thing like leaving the project idle for about 15 minutes, you come back and find that it has frozen. Also if you drag out a clip on the timeline you will find that the whole application freezes. Any possible solutions would be much appreciated.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (mac) will not completely launch.

After a few weeks idol my Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (mac) will not completely launch. It tells me a serious error has occurred, it shuts down and the circle continues. I've even reloaded  the app and it happens again. I did upgraded to Yosemite but I can't find anyone else having probs with Yosemite. Any ideas. No luck on the adobe site.

    >did upgraded to Yosemite
CS6 is about 3 years old... even the latest Cloud versions had to have updates to be compatible... since you have "reloaded" (was that a full uninstall and reinstall?) I have no other suggestions

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 will not play

I usually like to wait a few months before updating, but I had an issue with a client and needed to get the new version of Premiere Pro CC.
Premiere Pro CC 2014 will not play in Source or Program. Clicking play button or spacebar causes play icon to change from start to stop, but nothing happens. I'm on a late 2012 iMac. i7 Processor. OSX 10.8.5

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 will not import --

Premiere Pro 2.0 will not import mov, wmv, avi, mp4 or avchd files.  What format does it want?  OR does this have something to do with my Win 7 machine not having the right codecs?  If so, which ones are the right ones and how do I install them?

    >not compatible with W7
Right click the program icon and select XP compatibility from the pop-up option list
Also right click the program icon and select "Run as Administrator" to see if that helps

  • MacBook Pro has a grey screen with circle and slash and will not start up or start into safe mode.

MacBook Pro has started to get a grey screen with circle and slash and will not start up or start into safe mode.  This happened once previously, however, it allowed a safe mode reboot and then worked for a week or so.  While utilzing the machine, it started with the spinning beach ball for about 5 minutes, went into a shut down mode and then rebooted and came back up with the grey screen with a circle and slash after a few minutes.  For the past three days it has been stuck and will not allow it to boot into safe mode.  Any idea or suggestions?

Try starting the MBP with the OPTION key down.  If you see two HDD icons, select the recovery Icon.  From the 4 option menu, select Disk Utility.  Select Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
If you cannot get into the recovery partition, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.
    Ciao.

You could try updating your apple TV and then restarting it. Bit of a guess.

  • Problem with Premiere Pro CS5 project files bloating

Has anyone had the same problem that we're experiencing? - we have Production Premium CS5 installed on a machine with Win 7 Pro x64. We have three separate edits all of which are experiencing bloating of the .prproj project file. Often this bloating seems to occur when no importing of assets has occured, just changes in the edits. A project which started at 5mb has bloated to 1.5GB and we can no longer save it. Another project has bloated to 200mb and continues to grow in size. We have not brought in any weird assets, although we are using hi-def footage.
We upgrade from CS3 and never had this problem using Premiere CS3.
We can't fix the problem by 'remove unused footage' as this doesn't reduce the project size, although it does remove the unused footage.
We can't fix it by importing the project into a new clean project as the problem and huge file size just comes with
We can't fix it by using the project manager to collect up the project as it requires to save before collecting and the problem files can't be saved.
A couple of points to note - these projects were originally on Premiere CS3 and were upgraded to CS5. The footage is either Sony EX3 or Canon 5D - both HD.
The machine it's running on has 8gb of RAM.
Currently the projects I'm working on are gradually grinding to a hold with no way to make the files usable again.
Any suggestions are greatfully recieved as I'm at a loss. I've reported this to Adobe, and will report back if I get anything useful.
    thanks.

    TClark,
I'm shocked that you are having the same problem on a mac. This seems to suggest a problem that could be really widespread. You've also beaten my 1.5GB file bloat size.
What the hell is going on with Premiere Pro? I'm surprised to have heard nothing from Adobe either via my support request or on this forum, save for Jeremys useful work around, considering how serious an issue this is.
I've had to break all the projects I'm working on which have multiple timelines in each project into a new seperate project per timeline in order to reduce the file bloat problem and reduce the risk of me loosing all my work in one go on a bloated file.
Adobe - we could do with some help here. It's frustrating to have spent so much money on licences for this software only to have virtually non-existant help when a serious flaw in the software manifests itself.

Yeah...it's really a bummer that no one is acknowledging it.  It's pretty serious!
I hope Dennis jumps in soon!

  • Problem with premiere pro and encore with win7 enterprise 64-bit.

We are a college with approx 500 pc's running win7 enterprise 64-bit.  Premiere pro and Encore will only open with admin login, not user login.  All other packages ok. Any suggestions as to why this is?

Our lab has just had CS6 installed on it, running Win 7 enterprise. A user account will open a Premiere Pro project. I've done it. That was only to check that everything worked ok. I edited a couple of clips and stuck them on a sequence (16:9 PAL DV) and it played them ok and the project was saved back to the USB hard drive OK.
I have also opened up encore, made a new project and saved it to the USB HDD. No assets were added to it, just checking that the preference files had copied from the central server to the machine, so that users have certain options already pre-selected.
What exactly are the problems with Win 7 enterprise?

  • Problems with Premiere Pro 2.0:  sound lost after clip pasting

To integrate small projects to one bigger Project, it used to work well with Premiere Pro 1.5 in the following way: import small projects into the main sequence of the new project and, in parallel, copy the clips from the timeline of the small projects and past them into the timeline of the new project. However, I am encountering the following problems while trying to do the same thing with Premiere Pro 2.0:
    ·        Video and sound of every pasted clip becomes unlinked.
    ·        Although the sound was there (also shows in the wave view) right after the pasting and it can be rendered, but the audio Information gets lost as soon as I exit the new project (saved beforehand). If I re-open this new project, although the timeline shows all the pasted sound clips, but there is information in them - no sound (the wave views show only straight lines).
    ·        As well, some of the video and audio effect settings get lost (e.g. cross fading), but the effects such as brightness and contrast settings always remain.
    ·        At least one thing seems to be sure: the imported files themselves are ok. Newly created clips in the timeline from those imported files (dragged into the timeline) are fine - no information lost.
All tips are great helps. Thanks in advance.

    I got it!
Though not described in the English HELP, but in the German HELP: I have to press the Shift and T Keys. It works in my case with the following steps:
    1.     Mark the corresponding audio and video tracks
    2.     Put CTI over the clip
    3.     Press shift + T
    4.     Double click the clip
    5.     Eventually I have to repeat and press the keys shift +T again.
Thanks a lot once more for all of the hints and the detailed explanations. It is indeed a great help. I really appreciate it very much.

I would like to offers some suggestions for when there is a gap in the troubleshooting plan that you and SG are engaged in.
    At that time, please consider:
    1. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update of Premiere Elements 8 Windows? If not, please do so.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4653
    2. Work with the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer Off. Check to make sure that they are Off. For Automatic Background
Rendering option, see Edit Menu/Preferences/General. For the AutoAnalzyer options, go to the Elements Organizer accessed from the Premiere Elements workflow, and there select Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer Options and shut them all Off if they are not Off already. If you cannot get into the Elements Organizer that way, put that action on hold for now.
    3. Close the program. Go to
    Local Disc C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Elements Organizer
    8.0
    Organizer
and in the Organizer folder change the name of the psa.prf file to psa.prfOLD and close out of there and try to open the program and the Elements Organizer.
Make sure that your computer is set for Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drive active so that you can see the path described.
    4. Assuming that you can open Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 to the Welcome Screen even if you cannot open the Elements Organizer, go to the Welcome Screen
    a. hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift (altogether) as you click on hold (about 15 seconds) that click on the Organizer tab in the Welcome Screen. After those 15 seconds, release the click on the Organizer tab, but not the Ctrl+Alt+Shift, and look for the Catalog Manager dialog which should have popped up. It has a nasty habit of hidding behind the Welcome Screen, so, if necessary, move the Welcome Screen to one side to see if it is behind it.
    b. Create a new catalog using the Catalog Manager dialog.
Please review the above when you have finished other troubleshooting that you are currently pursuing.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thanks.
