Problem with QT 7.1.3 for multimedia content in Adobe Creative Suite 2

I have discovered that the latest version of QT, 7.1.3 is responsible for an error message when trying to import multimedia content into InDesign.
It also may be responsible for a problem when trying to play multimedia content in PDF files.
I have been able to fix the problem by uninstalling QT 7.1.3 and installing 7.0.4.
I have no idea whose "fault" this is, Apple or Adobe, but I feel it is more important to do my multimedia work than buy stuff from the iTunes music store.

Now it seems whenever I try to play a MPEG1 Muxed video it pauses for about 0.5-2s in the beginning and then plays w/o audio.Have you already tried solution associated with THIS ARTICLE?
AVI gives me audio but only a white screen.Usually indicates the compression format is at least partially recognized but may not have the specifice video codec required. Check the Finder "Get Info", QT "Show Movie Info", QT Pro "Show Movie Properties", or similar multimedia player window to determine the specific video codec involved and download the correct component if available for the Mac. (Alternately, you could try installing the Perian component which contains several of the most popular AVI, Xvid, DivX, etc. codecs used in the Windows OS.)
I saw a support article in another thread about changing the audio settings in the Audio MIDI Setup application under the Audio Output section. However, when I looked in that app, under Audio Output it reads "Output is not Supported".Oops! Probably the same solution in the article above. Have you tried opening and then closing GarageBand as an alternative to see if it would "reset" your audio?
Also, one things that has never worked is getting QT to play successive videos in the same window. I have "Open Movies in a New Window" turned off in the preferences, but that option is getting ignored. I checked the plists for QT in my Library directory and confirmed that option is not enabled. What givesThe QT Player does not do "Playlists." If you want to do playlists, use an alternate player (like iTunes). The "Open Movies in a New Player" refers to how movies are opened when double-clicked in the Finder. When turned off, the new movie opens in the currently open player by replacing the current movie. When turned on, the second movie will open in a second play leaving the first in tact. This is handy when comparing the simultaneous playback of two or more files.
