Problem with rear speakers!

I bought new Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Card and I have problem. My rear speakers (DTT2200) don't work. They're connected well, I have newest audio driver and CMSS-3D is enabled. I tested speakers on Creative Control Console and only rear speakers don't work.5.1 speakers are enabled in control panel of WinXP.Please help,Albert.

Check its set to 5.1 everywhere, especially in the creative control (not 7.1 or stereo anywhere). Check your connections at both ends (sounds silly, but check theyre firmly in) and at the speakers too. Try hooking the rear connection up to the front output on the X-Fi to rule out a problem with the speakers. Check volumes everywhere, settings everywhere, etc. Things like this are normally just one small setting you have overlooked somewhere.

  • Problem with Rear Speakers (Inspire P5800)

    Hi,
I have bought the Inspire P5800 Sound System but I have a problem. When I do a soundtest with the driver software all speakers work but when I want to listen to music with Musicmatch Jukebox I don't get any sound on the rear speakers. I have on board AC97 sound on a Gigabyte K8NS motherboard.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks!

    robertthronhill,
That's normal as music are mostly in stereo and that's 2 channel only. Creative sound card have CMSS feature that upmix stereo to surround soundfield but since you are using onboard audio, you will have to check with your mainboard manufacturer if those audio card have similar feature also.

  • Problem with internal speakers of MacBook Pro

    Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone have experienced a problem with internal speakers of Mac Book Pro. In my MackBook the Internal speaker volume goes down automatically. I checked the System Preferences>Sound>Output , from there I check that it is in the middle ( Balance) However, the problem is still the exists. Just for testing I played an audio file and I moved the bar toward the right speaker it is the same and when I move toward the left speaker the whole sound goes off . Looks like one speaker stops working completely. Then I checked the Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup > Configure Speakers  from there I checked both left and right speakers and the channel frequency is fine. Still same issue.  I have no idea what is going on , I really need your suggestions to get this fixed.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Having problems with internal speakers?

    Hello,
I've recently encountered a problem with my speakers. There is also a red light coming out of the audio jack. I found out that many other people are having the same problems with newer Mac versions. I looked at many different discussions and some are wrong and some are right.  Here is a great idea for for making this work: 1) You can use a toothpick. From what I've read, it may work, but be very careful of what you're doing.  2) I've used this idea it works very well. Find a headphone or audio jack cord and plug it in the audio jack many times. What I did was plug it and unplug it very fast. What you're trying to do is confuse the computer for a bit then make it realize that there is nothing in the audio jack. This should work. If it doesn't (for whatever reason) do not use the extra money to get it fixed. If this isn't enough help look at some other discussions, it's how I solve my origional problem with my speakers.

No, its too expensive for HP to plate the zif connectors with something that doesn't corrode....rolleyes.

  • Problem with my speakers

    Hi,
I am using HP ENVY m6-1225dx Notebook PC. It is little more than a year o;d and I never had any complaints with it.
Since past few days, there is a problem with my speakers.
However, when I use trouble shoot option, I am getting the following message 'Hardware Changes might not have been detected'. But immediately, the audio functions for few minutes and when it functions I am able to mute my system speakers. And few minutes later, when the audio stops functioning, I am not able to mute the speakers as well.
Further, when I attempt to test the speakers I get the following message 'The device is being used by another application. Please close any devices that are playing audio to this device and then try again'.
I have attempted to install the drivers from the HP page, even then, the speakers worked only for few minutes.
I am not sure, how do I go about it.
Any help with respect to the above problem will be of great help to me.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
After this you may or may not need to delete and reload the Audio driver - if you do, the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 7

  • Airtunes having problems with multiples speakers

Airtunes works very well when I just have the music play through the remote speakers. But when I try to get it to play music through both my computer's speakers and the remote speakers at the same time, I get a message saying
"An error occured while connecting to the remote speaker 'Bedroom.' An unknown error occured (-3256)."
Then the music starts playing through my computer speakers but not the remote speakers.
    Any thoughts?

Never mind, I found an article in the Apple support articles telling me how to solve this issue. It was a problem with my firewall settings.

Reset the SMC with this article. The SMC controls things like this and sometimes it causes problems.

you may have flipped the micro switch inside the audio jack.  To rectify this issue take a toothpick an gently wiggle it inside your audio jack.

  • ITunes 10.6.3 problem with multiple speakers

Running iTunes 10.6.3 on new MacBook Air.
When I click on the Choose Speaker icon on the bottom of the window, I get a complete list of all available Airport Express stations that have speakers powered speakers plugged into them.
When I choose Multiple Speakers, I only get a choice of this computer and Apple TV. None of the Airport Express Stations appear in the list for Multiple Speakers..
Running same version of iTunes, and same OS on MacPro, and it works as expected.
Do I need to do some type of network configuration on the air to get this to work?
    Thanks
    MtD

I just tried this also on my iPad and it doesn't work there either. Although I can get into the account settings, when I try and change a subscription I get a big black rectangle in the middle of the screen and the iPad hangs until the screen login thing kicks in and I have to enter my pincode again.
Maybe this is something to do with my AppleId, I can't actually believe this is a fundamental problem, although maybe  I am optimistic.

  • Problem with USB speakers and new Mac Mini

I have a USB sound system consisting of a pair of Harman Kardon soundsticks and a woofer from probably 10 years ago (bought and used originally with a Mac). I have tried driving it my new Mac Mini. It works fine for about a minute; then the music stops. Here's what I've tried to diagnose the problem:
    1. The problem does not occur when these speakers are driven from my Macbook Air (about 3 years old).
    2. The OS and iTunes software is up to date on both machines (10.9.5 and 12.0.1.26).
    3. It does not depend on which USB port I use on the Mac Mini.
    4. Using a port on a USB extender on the Mac Mini does not solve the problem.
    5. The iTunes Preference settings are the same on both machines.

Sorry, no actual experience with USB Audio devices.

  • Wifi problem with airplay speakers

I have tried everything to fix the wifi connectivity problems of my ihome iw2 speakers. I bought them and connected them to an open network by a starbucks but since then I haven't been able to connect them to a wifi network much less use them. I tried everything including the ethernet direct connect and it still won't connect. Anyone know anything else I can try?

No one got any ideas ?? Please!!
In the absence of any response, I've been playing around with the set up and have i think managed to conclude a few things....
    1. I havent managed to resolve why the iTunes app on my phone is randomly shuffling content against album name and album cover....
    2. The airplay problem does not appear to iTunes related or WiFi related or Armourhome speakers related, as ive tried isolating both and get the same results - and it times out and wont connect to any of the airport devices.... I've also found I have to reboot the mac before i can use Apple TV, if it hasn't been used for more than a day or so.
    3. I changed the power management settings on the Mac to put disks to sleep never, and wake on network access..... tried to access my airplay this morning... and nada - request to connect to airplay speakers timed out. I also have iTune set to open at log in.
Rebooted the Mac, and hey presto works perfectly..... this is starting to drive me nuts...! Can anyone else suggest anything else to try ? Its got to be something in OSX which is putting something to sleep in the Mac or causing it to loose a link somewhere....
Please please please can someone chuck some ideas in to the hat on this....

  • [Athlon64] Sound problem with new speakers, maybe related to soundcard on motherboard!

I just bought new speakers to my PC, creative Inspire GD580, but no sound are comin from them! they worked, because on the remote u could press test and then a noise came from each speaker (its 5.1) but no sound in windows, (when u log in or out and that kind off stuff) and not when I play music or games. Whats he problem? they are exactly right plugged in in the computer and that kind of tuff sp thats not the problem. I wonder if it has anything to do with my motherboard because the sound card are on it, I dont use any seperatly sound card, I use the one on the motherboard, the motherboard is an MSI K8T NEO2 FIR, K8T800PRO, Socket-939 SATA, GbLAN, ATX, Raid, Firewire, AGP8X (sound exit : VIA VT8237 - 7.1 sorround sound.) Is this my problem? please help!             The Sound card i think its called Realtek AC'97 Audio for Via Audiocontroller, is that bad or good?
Maybe thet just control the sound, i'm not sure its the sound cards name!

    Okay,
the old speakers work fine, the new ones don't. So I don't think, that this is an issue of the mainboard.
Please check if the speakers are really connected the right way. Also check "Audio devices" (sorry, don't know the equivalent in non-german Windows) in Control Panel, if speaker setup corresponds to your hardware. There is also a MSI- or realtek thingy in the control panel, you should have a look at the settings there, too.
In BIOS there is not much to check. You can only enable or disable the onboard audio device. BIOS Version is shown on startup, it might be necessary to press the [pause] key in order to read the information.

  • My iPhone 4's ringer or alerts, texts emails videos on YouTube or iPod won't play sounds however when I get a call the sound is loud an clear. I know it's not a problem with the speakers. It once said that it was connected to a tv when connected to dock.

Recently my iPhone 4's sounds are going haywire. I have a Jensen radio iPod dock that I hooked it up to earlier on in the week(first time too) and when it played a song, my iPhone said that this video was being played on a television. Since then the ringer(at times) along with my texts, you tube videos and iPod on my iPhone won't play music through the speakers. However sometimes my ringer comes through. Same as alarms. When I try to adjust the volume settings it doesn't do anything. My speakers work fine. It's just getting it to recognize its not being played on a tv anymore that is annoying.
Does anyone have any clue what to do?
    Thanks

DaVBMan, thanks for that post. That clears up something for me. I think I have experienced that funny noise as well. It sounds like a Morse Code message. I have heard that same noise while at Church on it's PA speaker system. When I heard this, I figured the speakers were picking some radio frequency noise, but I couldn't understand what exactly it was. When I purchased my iPhone, I already had an old cable, stereo jack on one end and RCA plugs on the other. I noticed the same noise on my speakers. So, I am figuring if I replace the cable, I should be fine.

  • Is there a problem with USB speakers and Final Cut Express HD?

I have audio only through my internal speaker for Final Cut - however all other sounds play through my USB Harman Kardon speakers fine.
I have tried sending the audio out to my M-Audio head too - and that has been fruitless.
I am really frustrated - I reinstalled the OS. And ran it with only Final Cut and the OS and still have the same issues. Even if I drag an MP3 into Final Cut it plays through the internal speaker. I also notice that the audio really lags behind the video when it plays through the internal speaker - if that means anything. I have made sure that the Canvas Setting is correct.
Tech support for the most part has been nice, but they are unable to help me.
Please help!!!! And thanks in advance.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS-100 problem with my speakers

Hi, I just bought the DDTS, I have Klipsch THX 5.1 speakers and when I hook them up most of the sound is coming from the center channel. The other channels (front/rear) output sound but at a SUPER low level. Any ideas? Is it the Klipsch speakers?
    Thanks
    J

    DudeRighteous,
Have you tried adjusting the levels for the center down and the other speakers up? On the main volume knob press the select button and it will select a specific speaker set to adjust the volume for. Try changing these settings and see if that helps.
