Problem with recovery area

I have a problem in a RAC environment
This is my environment:
Oracle RAC 10.2.0.4 with 3 nodes
RHEL 5.5
The node 3 stopped working and the alert log shows me the following:

I ran CATALOG RECOVERY AREA command in RMAN and the result indicates that some headers of archivelogs are corrupted.
The DB service was hung and I stoped the instance in node 3.
Now my DB is operative but i have fear that if start the instance in node 3 the service will be hung.

Weird problems with recovery partition

Hi. I just got a new X1 Carbon a few days ago. When trying to install Ubuntu, I messed up the bootmgr. At that point I still had the option F11 for recovery on startup, but choosing it did not give any results and after a restart, the option was gone. When researching the problem, I found this thread:

Since my recovery partition Q was untouched, the steps described in the thread allowed me to restore partitions S and C. So far so good, but now the problems start.
First, the letters of the partitions get messed up after every reboot. I assign Windows7_OS the letter C, SYSTEM_DRV gets S, and Lenovo_Recovery gets Q. Diskpart then lists the drives with correct letters. But after a reboot, they're back to D,C,E, respectively.
Then, when I boot the Windows recovery disk from a usb stick, it correctly recognizes that Windows is installed on drive D. It suggests that there are startup problems, which I tell it to fix. After the next reboot, it does not warn me about startup problems. When I then go to command prompt and enter
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
then the Windows recovery disk commits suicide. It seems to attempt to fix its own bootmgr. At the moment, both usb stick and hard disk run with grub (Windows recovery on a multiboot installed by YUMI). After I run the commands above, the hard disk still runs with grub, but the usb stick now has bootmgr and fails to boot. I have tried this several times, each time recreating the Windows recovery disk with YUMI, and every time the same result.
F11 option is of course still gone. At this point I'm out of my wits. Any suggestions are welcome.

In the end I formatted and made a clean install. F11 Option is gone. Recovery partition is still untouched, but I don't think it will be used again. Followed this advice to install a fresh Windows 7 using a usb stick:

Since I did not have access to Windows with administrator rights, I had to use Ubuntu to create the bootable Windows stick:

The WiFi driver was not included in Windows, so I had to download that in another system, and install manually. From there I could then go online in Windows to download the remaining drivers from Lenovo (after the clean install there's a long list of unrecognized devices).
Since the laptop comes with 4 primary partitions preinstalled I had to merge the SYSTEM_DRV and the Windows7_OS partition in order to create an additional partition for Ubuntu. Then I installed Ubuntu and took control of the startup behavior using EasyBCD.

Problems with recovery manager

Hi i am new to this forum and didn't have abit of idea whats going on with my HP mini 110- 1135TU using windows 7 starter.
I performed 2-3 times of the recovery from the recovery partition and everytime it fails me just auto-restarted during the process.
then upon the 3rd tries, from then on i was not able to enter again to the recovery manager interface.
it still boot normally, but whenever i key in my password and a few seconds later, it will say windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation.
I have no way to access windows
Didn't know whats going on, really appreciates if someone could help me with this.

Problems with CC are REALLY getting old.

I spend a great deal of my day trying to get Adobe CC to work like it should. Right now I have a spinning beach ball on the Desktop app and the AAM never seems to work. It just sits there in the DOCK bouncing it's little self to death...
I CONSTANTLY have to change the OOBE file so I can RE-DOWNLOAD and RE-INSTALL. After I do that, about a day later I have to do it all over again. I can't tell you how many times I've run permissions repair and various other time consuming things trying to get this stuff to work. And by the way, were are a three bay editorial shop and all three bays have problems with ADOBE CC programs.
Come on guys. I use this software professionally and have NEVER had so many problems with a program. Yesterday AE, PP and Photoshop ALL said they were needing to be reinstalled! I spend at least half a day just trying to get this CC stuff to work.
Seriously it is flawed and not ready to be released to the professional community. We need these programs to work - day in, day out. We don't need to be contantly "Upgrading" "Re-installing" Re-downloading" and changing numerous files to "OLD" to get your stuff to work.
And the on-line staff in India is really a joke. I've not had them EVER solve a problem! The only solutions are from other users that have found work arounds. (Still have the spinning beach ball on the CC Desktop app....) How many other programs require you to constantly open Activity Monitor and KILL them there because they won't even Force Quit? I suspect ONLY ADOBE CC programs.

I got it fixed by a round about way. Another user wrote a script that allows you to kill all the running programs and clean up so you can do the new install. You can do a google search for: Adobe CC Updater Fix 2.workflow

Problem with Stacked area chart

Hi all,
I'm working on delivery data according to month having input(combo) as the year. I'm trying to display the data in percentages in Stacked area chart having series as ontime delivery, 1 week late, 2 weeks late,........5 weeks late and category labels as months. The problem is when I take the Preview of data I get to see the data for ontime, 1 week , 2 week as it should be but when I hover the mouse over the 2 weeks data area mouse over values shows 5 weeks data(0 %) where as in reality the colored area belongs to 2 weeks data. I tried to delete 5 weeks series data and now it shows as 4 weeks data.
What could be the problem ?

Problem with depreciation area (Incorrect currency exchange rate is used)

Good day to all SDN forumers!
I'm having a problem with one depreciation area that we set up. The reason why we configured this depreciation area is for us to enable to monitor all asset postings in another (group) currency aside from the local currency. We set it up in such a way that the depreciation would not post and would thus only "convert" the asset postings to group currency using the table rates in table TCURR (via OB08).
The problem is despite having defined an exchange rate for the current period, the system still picks up the exchange rate for 01/01/2001 which is incorrect. This affected all reports which displays incorrect values whenever I view the postings using the 2nd depreciation area we set up. Is there a way we can correct this?
I'd really appreciate your comments and suggestions guys. Thanks a lot and more power!

I created a new depreciation area by copying an existing area and updated some of the configuration. The problem is still there though, since the depreciation area still reflects the incorrect rate (similar to that of the previous depreciation area) whenever I access it using Asset Explorer. What's surprising is that even though I've already set the exchange rate (e.g. USD to EUR) to match that of the asset's capitalization / acquisition date, the posted values still do not reflect what I defined in table TCURR. Instead, it reflects the exchange rate used by the old depreciation area. Help anyone? We are already in a production client and transfer/retirement of all the assets is not an option the client would like to undertake.

Problems with result area in workbooks after upgrade to BW 3.5

Hi,
we are experiencing some problems with our workbooks after the upgrade to BW 3.5. When refreshing all queries in a workbook (that was there before 3.5) without selecting a specific query we get the message 'Result area cannot be found, specify a new one'. After selecting, the message appears again in an infinite loop.
Has anybody had similar problems and has found a solution for this?

Hi,
I am having that message, always if I delete a Sheet which contains an embeded query.
Even the sheet is deleted, the SAPBEX has information of all the embeded queries, and tries to find the Result area to put the data.
To find out if this is your case as well,
select an empty cell in a Sheet and continue like that, until all the embeded queries are been displayed.

Please Help... Problems with recovery wizard

I got a Toshiba A205-S5804, as long as it was used I'd erase all from the hard disk with the recovery disk. The problem know is when I try to run the recovery disk it gives me a message:
ERROR 08-064B-000
PARTITION CREATION FAILED
And then the computer shut down.
Please help me

A "Partition creation error" sounds like a hard drive problem. See if you can partition and format the hard drive with a different program or operating system. If you can't, it is a hard drive issue. If you can partition the hard drive with some other software, then it maybe a problem with the Recovery CDs. You can order new Recovery CDs at Toshiba's InTouch Center at 800-457-7777.

Problem with Tools Area iView Creation - Help Needed.

I am having a small problem with the Tool Area Par, I downloaded the Par and have edited it and then redeployed it on the Portal, however when I am creating an iView I am getting the Following error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :

Problem with Business area

hello,
any body please help me.
previously i have configured with business area. every thing working fine. but my client decided to work with profit center. then i have made changes with profit center, means all assignment i deleted. I changed all assignments in OKB9 changed to profit center. i have deleted business area assignment with sales area and plant.
but when i am creating sales order it is asking business area. even i am doing stock posting with movement type 561 it is giving the same message. so please let me know where i am doing wrong.

Hi,
in the "global parameters" for your company code, uncheck "Business area fin. statements".
Also make sure the field status groups you use for your accounts don't specify business area as a required field

Having problem with Recovery Disk assistant. Help

Hi apple community.
I am having trouble with Recovery Disk Assistant.
I want to re-install my mountain lion to restore all settings to default without deleting my personal data (e.g. Movies, documents, pictures, downloads, dowloaded programs like Photoshop cs6 and other downloaded apps)
I want to make a bootable usb for mountain lion.
so i am using the Recovery Disk Assistant.
And when i open the Recovery disk assistant, i was expecting that the OS that will go onto the usb was Mountain lion. But i get OS X Lion instead.
Of course i dont want to downgrade my mountain lion to its previos version of OS X which is Lion.
How should i do this? Thanks.

RDA simply copies your Recovery partition to the flash drive. If you're sure you have a Lion Recovery system, but you're running ML, then you need to download the ML installer from the App Store and run it.

Problem with Recovery Partition(After i got a Virus)

Hi all,
I am using HP Envy 15 notebook with windows 7 home premium x64-bit installed.I didnt create the recovery disks since i got this notebook and what happened is that i got a virus from the internet but i almost repaired all system faults caused by it but the main problem for me is that it change all main drive folders name into Virus1232 for example (d:\recovery changed into d:\virus1234) and i spent hours over the internet to get the right folder and file names and i got them all but only one file not sure of.My problem is when i enter the Recovery Manager it doesn't detect any my recovery partition(but the virus isnt responsible for any file deletion it just caused some system changes) and just to speak i also corrected the folder and file names in c: drive since they are needed too.
These are the filenames i got in D: drive : bootmgr - BT_HP.flg - CSP.DAT - DeployRp.log - HPSF_Rep.txt - language.ini ; and the filename let is the one im not sure of: "HP_WSD.dat" (it is a zero-byte file).
The recoverymgrdump.txt works right untit "CSBRMgr::GetRPTOOLPartIndex leaving!"
then it tells me :
"Win32 System Info Code = 3, Info Message = The system cannot find the path specified."
and it also say :
"CSBRMgr::HpcdFlgIsExistInUP <UP>:\WINDOWS\hpdrcu.prc does not exist."
I dont know if that is normal but also the deployrp.log gives me this error:
"Package does not exist: c:\RM\Tools\DeployRp\WinPE_LangPacks\64\winpe-setup.cab"
ofcourse there are more errors in both files but i guess those are the most important.
So my question is: could the file attributes in d: drive be responsible for this error(i changed all attrbutes to be system hidden and read only)

If anyone have a solution please tell me what to do.

USB Drives - Problem with Recovery Manager

I bought a Kingston DataTraveler 112 16GB thumb drive so I could copy the recovery image as a backup. It recognized the thumb drive and showed that the recovery image was a little over 11GB. But when it started to format the USB, it returned to the previous screen and no longer showed the drive there. At the bottom of the screen it said to contact HP Support but it didn't give me an error message. Now when I try the recovery manager it won't recognize the USB at all.
Prior to that I had purchased another 16GB USB--don't remember which brand. I have 5 other USB drives, but they're all smaller, except a 32GB Kingston DT101 G2 which does not work on this computer, although it worked on my previous computer (Pavilion w/Vista Home Premium) with no problem. All these USBs, including the new Kingston are for USB 2.0.
OS is Windows 8.1 64 bit on HP Pavilion 500-A60 desktop. I've tried the problem USB drives in all 4 ports (2.0 and 3.0). Also in the one I plug into a port to give me 3 USB ports, also used on my prior computer.
Is it possible that this computer doesn't recognize Kingston or certain other brands of USB thumb drives?

The trick to this is to use a USB 2.0 port and to use a non-Windows 8 certified thumbdrive. If the USB flash drive shows as a "removable device" then there should be no issue in using the media to create recovery media
I have had great success with a Transcend USB 3.0 16-GB flash disk.
I own a couple of DataTraveler flash disks and had the same lack of success creating recovery media that you did. I have also had zero success with Sandisk Extreme usb 3.0 flash disks

Replaced failed HDD Sat. L455-5000 with new Western Digital 320 SATA drive-problems with recovery

Original HDD died. Replaced it with new WD 320 SATA from Best Buy-nice drive-good reviews. Used Recovery Center DVD's I had burned earlier. Three with Toshiba Recovery 2 with Windows Recovery Envrinoment and DRivers/Apps.
Toshiba REcovery only asked for first 3. Computer restart after Recovery Install(First Three Disks) gives error message:
File: \windows\system32\DRIVERS\LPCFilter.sys
Status: 0xc0000428
WIndows Cannot Verify Digital Driver Signature.
Windows Boot Manager "screen" always comes up and Windows fails to start.
1.Asking for a windows installation disk-thought this was given in Toshiba Recovery DVD's I burned.
2. Chosse language settings-click next
3. CLick " repair your computer."
I thought the Toshiba Recovery Disks were supposed to install everything for me. I don't have a sparate windows system disk. Never burned one

Time for some good news.
I received and installed an OEM WD 250 (Toshiba) replacement drive. After loading the recovery disks this morning-it worked perfectly-just like "out of the box."
It was the HDD failure after all. No software gliches at all. Windows update of course is attempting to re-load about 500 updates. LOL. I also learned to spread them out in groups of 10-20 long ago as well. This will take some time; but the laptop is running fine.
So I learned some great lessons. 1)-stick with OEM replacement hardware-computers are "locked in time" to a definite hardware configuration that works well at that time in history. 2) If I had not used my own "decision" tree to problem solve-I'd still have a dead computer. 3) I was correct to order an external drive enclosure to test the bad drive after I was unable to do so with the laptop. 4)I made the right choices to contact the Western Digital Drive support to find out the new drive really might also be the problem. 5) It was also great to be able to get such amazing help on this forum too-what a great resource for Toshiba owners. 6)Finally-I was able to "chat" with the Toshiba Rep. online to confirm the OEM part number of the WD drive they had used-and ordered -cheaper- from Amazon.com.
7) After 2 weeks of my own time(and great online resources) and $80.00-I fixed my laptop myself. Never had to mail it anywhere.
8) I also ended up with a great external backup drive-that I was always too lazy-and cheap-to order for myself before. LOL.
9) Now what about the Toshiba OEM Graphics card that the "Windows Experience Survey' always says I need to replace? Nope -not going there -yet.

Hi, in a database there are 2 datafiles that were brought offline. They cannot be online again becouse I have no archive logs, but they are empty and not used at all. Backups are made regularly without any warnings. I wonder if there could be any problem during any future database restore or database recovery?
Grid control show that 2 files need media recovery and severity is : X
