Problem with report generation

Hello,
I get no results on the report. The header information is there but non of the body. Any word on what might be the problem ?

Hi,
Maybe you have set the MainSequence to 'Disable Recording for all steps' in the Sequence properties.
Or
Set the Filering on to somthing like 'Passed/Done/Skipped'. with all tests passing you would only get the header and footer.
Can You post your sequence file.

In office 2007 in the tables are correct.

The solution referenced in your post does not actually workas far as I can tell... at least for LV2011 and Office2010 on Win7

Problem with Report Generation in TestStand 3.0

While using On-the-Fly Test Report Generation capabilities in TestStand 3.0, the PC become very sluggish and occasionally there are error messages containing an error code of -17000 and the statment, "Out of Memory". The error dialog usually appears while attempting to run the "reportgen_html.seq" file. Do you have any suggestions as to how we may correct this problem?

The test which you trying to run could potentially be leaking memory. I would suggest that you do the following.
1. Run the tests without report generation and result collection. Monitor the memory usage of your test using either taskinfo2000 or PerfMon and monitor your application.
To turn off result collection go the configure-> station options-> general tab -> Check disable result recording for all Sequences.
To turn off report generation -> configure-> report options-> and check disable report generation
If you tests still give a out of memory error then potentially the tests are leaking memory. Also if you see an increase in memory usage when running your tests then you could potentially be leaking memory in the tests
If your application
does not give errors then I would turn on result collection and keep report generation disabled and check if you get errors.
If you get memory errors then you just might need more RAM to store all the results.
If you still do not get any errors then I would turn on report generation and result collection and set the report to txt. If you still do not get any errors.
If you get errors then you might just need more memory to generate the report and display it.

Problem with report generation toolkit when installed new office 2010

Dear all, I had LabView 8.6.1 and report generation toolkit for MSoffice 2003 perfectly working in my laptop.
Now I have added MSoffice 2010 and report generation toolkit does not work anymore since it is linked to new office.
How can I inform Labview to link report generation toolkit to the old MSoffice 2003?

The Report Generation Toolkit is ActiveX based. When you install the newest version of Office it registers the ActiveX server for that software, which the toolkit adapts to and uses.
Uninstalling Office 2010 would solve the issue, otherwise you will need to look at unregistering the 2010 component of Office ActiveX - but I'm not sure if that's possible.

I am using labview 2011.
When I right clicked on block diagram I can see reprt generation toolkit. But when I am trying to use it to save a word file I faced a error code-41007.Please help me..........

Problem with report generation: incorrect VI icons

Hello,
I'm working on a LabVIEW project (8.5.1) which includes a certain number of VIs (500). I have created a little LabVIEW application to produce automatically a HTML documentation of the project.
The problem I have, is that, from time to time the document contains bad icons but only for a few VIs and not always the same...
I had a look to ReportDocExtension.llb and found that the VI which is called Generate_pseudo_unique_filename.vi was a bit strange. I think that this VI, if it is called suficently rapidly could, from time to time, generate identical file names.
Has someone experienced the same problem? Is it a known bug?

I think the problem I mentioned seems like a bug (still in LV2010). See attached VI which shows that the name generated by Generate_pseudo_unique_filename.vi is "pseudo unique" as suggested in the title but not unique as suggested in the comment..
So that, if you generate programatically a HTML report it is possible that you "loose" one .jpg file corresponding to a VI icon (typically the icon of VI n°1 can be named LVtemp0340086242585c.jpg and the icon of VI n°2 can have the same name). In this case, in the generated report, the icon of VI n°2 is correct but the icon of VI n°1 corresponds to the icon of VI n°2!
Now that I have found the origin of my problem, I'll set up a workaround.

Problem for Report Generation Toolkit for excel 2000

Hi all,
Now I am Developing my program with Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.0 and Labview 7.1.
In my computer I am using Excel XP, and there is not any problem. But when I build to
a exe file, and use in a computer with Excel 2000, it didn't work.
And I try to check the source file in this computer, I found that there any some connection
error. And this is caused by the active X class. As I know Excel 2000 is using Microsoft Excel
Object Library 9.0, but i cannot find it in the list of active x. So it is using Microsoft Excel Object
Library with a very old verison. So in the property node there are missing functions, such as the
UsedRange in _Worksheet in the Excel_Get_Range.vi. However, In VBA, I can find the 9.0 Library.
Is it the problem of 9.0 library? How can I solve the problem? How can I upgrade the library to 10.0?

Hi Mike,
Since my program is for all the staff in office, everyone may use it.
I cannot call the whole office to upgrade the excel to XP.
And I think Report Generation Toolkit is alway support Excel 2000,
since the old version of it is not support for Excel XP.

LabVIEW VI with Report Generation Toolkit elements in a TestStand sequence does not run with a LabVIEW 8.5 Run-Time Engine

Hi all,
I am using LabVIEW 8.5.1 and TestStand 4.1. I have done a TestStand sequence with a VI in it, which uses Report Generation Toolkit elements. On my machine I am using LabVIEW and TestStand with a Development System license. On the other machine I am using TestStand with a Base Deployment license and I have chosen the LabVIEW 8.5 Run-Time Engine in the Adapter Configuration. Everything is running well except of this VI with Report Generation Toolkit elements. The error message is showing that the VI is not executable. It works well only after I have installed LabVIEW with an Evaluation license and chosen LabVIEW 8.5 Development System in the Adapter Configuration.
I have found other posts and a document in the KnowledgeBase with a similar problem: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8A0E6274D9BD7B1986256F62006AD402?OpenDocument But I am not using EXE files in my sequence, so I don't know how to solve mine. Anybody has an idea?

After I click "Continue..." in step 3, I dont get a window, the system just makes a new folder with the same VI.
To be honest, I am new to LabVIEW and have some difficulties at this time. What I understood from your reply is, that I need to make a LLB-File, where the files from Report Generation Toolkit are in!?

Error -2146827284 with report generation 1.1.4

Hi. Im working with Report Generation 1.1.4 and I was testing it for exporting data to an excel book. I was making some vi's to learn how to use it and do what I need it for. I need to take two non constant numeric values and save them in an excel table of two columns and graph them. The error comes when I transpose the original matrix, so i can have 2 columns instead of 2 rows in excel. In the picture you can also see that no graph is displayed. If anyone knows has experience doing this kind of activities between labview and excel I would appreciate some help! Thanks!

Why are you turning your array into a matrix? A matrix is not the same thing as an array. (They are related, but are not truly the same thing.)
Turn on context help and read about all the inputs into the charting function. You want to have a 2-D array. You are actually only starting off with a 1-D array. (Which you can't transpose if you wanted to because it is only 1 dimensional). Create a 2-D array of data to feed into the charting function. If you need to transpose that you can. Don't play with matrix transformations, they are rarely used and only for special math operations when they are. Wire up any other inputs to the charting function as needed. The default chart type is xlColumnClustered which I am going to guess is not truly the graph you want. You probably want an XYscatter.

Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
0,75 is shown as:
0,750000
but 1,25 is shown as:
1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?

Problems in using Application Builder to Build a exe file with Report generation Toolkit

Hello,
It's my first time to build exe. But I have Problem when the VI have Report Generation toolkit VI.
It's no problem in VI Format , But It can't work when I build as EXE format
Can Anyone help me, and state step clearly in how to solve the problems?

If the code works OK in the development system but not in an executable there are a few things you can check. The two most likely causes are:
There is an error occuring that your code isn't reporting.
There is a file path that under the executable isn't valid.
First make sure that all the error clusters are daisy-chained together in the subVI that you wrote to create and populate the excel file. Next make sure that the end of that chain goes to an indicator on the VI's front panel.
Second, make sure there are indicators on other key parameters like the path the file is trying to write to.
Third, temporarily modify the VI properties of that excel IO VI to open it's front panel when called, and rebuild your application. The next time you run the application the front panel will open when you try to write to the excel file and you should be able to see what is happening.

LV 6.0.1 causing problem with Report Gen VIs

I have just upgraded from LabVIEW 6.0i to 6.0.1 and have now got a problem
whereby many Report Generation VIs (such as New Report Line.vi) are now reporting
that they are using invalid ActiveX methods. The NIReports.Report object
appears to no longer export any methods at all.

When I run report( over 28000 pages) with same data set in linux environment then report still run normally.
I can run this report in win2k3 env developer, but my customer can't run it(my customer also use application server 10gr2 in win2k3), number user of my customer is about 150 user.
It isn't still work if I redirect report to another output. And I view Application Server -> Report Server then I see one job is running for a long time.

Need help with report generation toolkit

I'm having a really hard time finding a solution for my problem. I'm measuring a distance and a diameter simultaneously. The outcoming values have a depency and are stored in a 2-D array. I want to export this array to an excel table and x-y-chart (distance is x and diameter y). So far I can export the data to a table, however the charts produced are useless. Can somebody please help me? I'm almost crying since I'm trying to find a solution for 3 days now.
Additionally, after one measurement is done, the user should have the possibility to do the next measurement, and the data has to be stored in the same excel file, in another worksheet. How can I do this?

Hi!
If you want a nice graph in Excel based on your data you have input there, I would recommend creating a macro that builds your graph. Read more about macro, Excel and LabVIEW here. I don't have the Report Generation toolkit, but I think you can send macros with it too.

Problems with report builder 3.0 in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2

I have problems with editing (Using Report builder) existing reports or creating new ones in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2
We version of SQL we use is SQL 2008 R2 SP2
I already asked this question in the SCCM 2012 forum but the problem is not related to SCCM but has something to do with application report builder
I changed the registry key and edited the Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config.xml as described in the following link

Hi Miss Katherine,
1. I went through the SQL steps in the link you posted
2. I updated the Reg Key and Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config file with 3.0 on both the
server and the console machine.
3. I copied the .DLL file from your OneDrive and replaced the existing one on the server.
4. I uninstalled and re-installed the reporting role on the server and received the 1015 in the log.
5. I restarted the server and the client machine
I do get a slightly different error now after using the new DLL

Error 7 with Report Generation Toolkit

I'm trying to generate an Excel sheet report for some readings using "Report Generation toolkit" But when trying to generate the report, the report generation part of code is executed and gives Error(7) and there is no report is generated.

I was able to download and open your compressed file. I unpacked it into a folder.
There are numerous peculiarities that lead me to ask "Are you trying to learn LabVIEW on your own, without a mentor and without training and guidance"? Here are some of the things that I noticed:
Although a Report Generation .lvproj, .aliases, and .lvlps file, the Project, when opened, was empty! Since Projects were added to LabVIEW, almost all development should take place in a Project, but you do not appear to be doing so.
You have an Event Loop (good) to handle pressing Start, Stop, and Report buttons. But instead of using Boolean controls with a Latch property and using a "Value Changed" event, you use Switch Until Released (which, so far, I've never used) and a Mouse Down Event. I suppose this could work, but I've never seen this pattern.
You are writing an Excel Report, but are not using the Excel-specific VIs (such as Excel Easy Table). Why (or Why Not)? The basic idea of an Excel Report is that you create the 2D text data you want to write into Excel, then with a few simple VIs, you open Excel, write the Table, and save the Report. In particular, you don't write out something that resembles the columns of the first few rows of a Spreadsheet (Date, Time, Test, etc.).
Now to your specific question, Error 7. Do you know what this error means? If you click on Help, choose Explain Error, and put in 7, you will see this means "File Not Found". Well, there is an obvious place where a File is used, right when your program starts. I recommend that you put a Probe (do you know about Probes?) or an Indicator on the path going into the main For loop and see what File you are trying to open (hint -- there's an error in the way you build the path, but you should be able to figure out how to fix it).
