Problem With Restoring My Iphone

Hi all, i recently got my new Iphone, i go onto settings>icloud>storage and backup>manage storage and see that i have an icloud back up from my last Iphone which has got all my stuf on it.Great!. i also have my ipad backup that hasnt been backed up for a long time, but when i got to my mac to restore it it only gives me the option to restore from my ipad one even tho on my phone it shows my ex-Iphone. Thanks allot Guys, hope tooo see a reply.

Besides the drop in the pool, your bigger problems started when you tried the jailbreak, then opening it and replacing the battery and all of that. If you had come here when you first dropped it in the water, or when the first restore wouldn't work, then we could have told you to get an out of warranty replacement. Since you opened it, Apple won't offer that to you any longer either. You have unfortunately put yourself in a position that you will have to either purchase a new phone at full price, or see if you can get a subsidy from your carrier or take the device to a 3rd party repair. You are out of luck here. I'd watch who's suggestions you follow next time.

unfortunately there are tons of people with this issue but Apple has not given any answers for us to fix this issue yet. I wish they would allocate more people to solving these problems when they roll out new versions of itunes along with new hardware.

  • Having problems with restoring my iphone 4 to iphone 4s

Hi everyone, I have been having a nightmare with backup and restoring my from my iphone 4 to iphone 4s since Friday night.
Naturally, I got home with my new Iphone 4s and wanted to get it up and running with my current contacts, sms and notes (and apss, etc) off my iphone 4.
I upgraded itunes to 10.5 plugged in my iphone 4 and did a backup and sync to my PC.
Once this completed, I plugged in my iphone 4s and did a restore from a previous backup and selected the iphone 4 recent backup.
This went through the usual process for 30 mins to an hour and then errored out, saying that it cannot complete the restore because....wait for it...the backup maybe corrupt or I am restoring to an incompatible device, something along those lines.  I have tried various things and various backups and restoring the iphone back to factory settings.  I think on the most recent back up, I got the backup error (-50) which I have naturally gone through all the Apple forums and looked at the resolves for that but it says it is USB and timeout related, but it is not that as I have manged to restore from a backup from April this year and that works perfect.
I know what you are thinking, why not plug your iphone 4 back in and do another back up and then try and do a restore again to the iphone 4s.  I would if I could but icloud has turned out to be my enemy in this case.  When I was at work and I got my new iphone 4s, I set it up at work as a new phone to see how Siri works and the icloud.  Obviously, it asks you to sign in with an apple account before you can go any further into using the phone for the first time. I did this and eventually got the phone on to look at the features.  The phone had the new ios5 and I played around with it for a bit.  Now when I got home and did the backup of the iphone 4, I connect and disconnect different phones and itunes likes to sync your phone as soon as I plug it in.  Now with the combination of icloud backing up the new iphone 4s which is blank and then the new itunes has icloud funtionality, when I replugged the iphone 4 in, it synced with icloud and gave me the new iphone 4s settings which are blank!!!!  I then had a blank iphone 4 and a blank iphone 4s, by blank I mean no contacts, sms, notes, etc and everytime I try to do a restore it give me the above errors.
I have since set itunes to back up to the PC, turned off icloud and played around with different restores,  It is now Sunday and I have not got my phone back to its more recent settings (Been on it for 3 days!!)
I was wondering if anyone knows what file my contacts, sms, notes is stored in and can I import just that file into my new iphone?  As for apps, music, etc, I can always sync them up afterwards using itunes.  My main concern is my contacts, sms and notes; email accounts would be useful to restore aswell as I had about 8-10 email accounts in there too (work, personal, domains I own, in case you're wondering).
I have worked in IT for many years and have put all my skills to the test but nothing gets my recent files back.  Is there anyone who knows a bit about the programming side of iphone backup files, although any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
For now I will probably revert back to an April backup until someone can help.
    Many thank in advance.

  • TS4036 Problem with restoring my iphone

My iphone volume button broke so i was switching it out for a new one and i am trying to restore my iphone at home because the connection at apple was bad and it was saying 30 hours 'till restore. I waited at apple for about 3 hours and it wasn't changing so they said maybe to take it home and try. I took it home and connected it and it went from 15 mins to 30 hours! I waited 6 hours to see and it's not changing. What can i do?

  • HT201210 Having problems with restoring my iphone 3g can anyone help?

When I am trying to restore my iPhone 3g iTunes first states that an iphone has been detected in 'recovery mode' so I click ok, then it starts restoring the iPhone and before it is complete a pop-up box comes up and says unknown error (1015)
    Can anybody help??

That error almost always indicates your phone was jailbroken.
If that's the case, you can't get help here. Try google or the hacking community.
If you are absolutely positive that your phone was not jailbroken or hacked, and that you are not attempting to downgrade iOS, then you have a hardware failure.

  • Problem with restoring backup [iPhone]

Just when you're being a happy Apple fanboy, waving off hate-filled Android fanatics while being content with having an iOS device, this happens.
So previously, I almost lost all my pictures due to an ambiguity in restoring a backup from my iCloud. After hours of googling and testing each solution, I finally managed to save all my pictures. However, app data and SMSes were not saved for some reason.
Now, the same problem happens in an entirely different way when I was trying to help my cousin update her iOS from 4.3.3 to 5.1.1.
Due to the slow internet connection here, I've decided to entirely forgo iCloud backup, relying entirely on a PC backup. Who knew it could be worse?
The problem I have now is not being able to restore my cousin's phone to the previous backup (when her phone was still running iOS 4.3.3). Everything's still in the backup file except for Info.plist, Manifest.mbdb, Manifest.plist and Status.plist. Yes, I've looked up threads that face the same problem but I guess the only conclusion is that I'm screwed. While being able to recover pictures is somewhat helpful, I'm still ****** that this had to happen. The only fault I can find on my side is letting iTunes out of my sight for a second. Why the bloody **** does it have to sync and create a new backup? Why are the four new backups easily accessible but the crucial one had to be unaccessible? Why does Apple create such problems for me?
Does anyone else face such problems when trying to restore their phone? Or do people just assume that app data, SMSes and photos cannot be restored into the phone after having an iOS upgrade?
Does anyone out there have a solution for me to never face such problems again (those relating to managing my device with iTunes)?

If you are using Windows, switching Anti-virus, firewall etc. might help.

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

  • HT201210 I m having problems with both my iphone 3gs and 4 when my cellular data is on and my battery is fully charge but out of suddenn it will shut off can i know how can i troubleshoot this issue thanks

I m having problems with both my iphone 3gs and 4 when my cellular data is on and my battery is fully charge but out of suddenn it will shut off can i know how can i troubleshoot this issue thanks

simply try doing a back up and restore
when going thru the activation screen, select SET UP AS NEW and then test your device. if it is not shutting down then it could be 1 or more apps tht have been downloaded wch could be affecting the device
you will then need to follow the process of eleimnation, meaning add 2 apps and then monitor your phone, if nothing happes then add another couple of them and then check
    good luck !!

  • HT1688 im having problems with my 3gs iphone camara

I having problems with my 3gs iphone i press the off button and it wont turn off and wen i go to my camara it wont take pictures or video

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, resest, restore from backup, restore as new.
If you still have problems after going through ALL the recommended troubleshooting steps, then you likely have a hardware issue.  You'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

  • Problems with restoring idevices

I have found a solution to the problem with restoring Your Ipod touch and iphones on a Mac, When it stops restoring the device at the very end.
To fix this problem, boot using your OS disk and verify your disk and permissions and then repair them. Restart your computer and see if it fixes your problems.

Hardware failure, you'll take your phone to Apple.

  • Problem with network on Iphone 4

Please tell me if someone has a problem with network on Iphone 4?

Of course other people have had problems. However, just knowing that other people have had some vague, undefined "network problems" most likely isn't going to be very useful. You'll get more and better help if you can give some details about your specific problem. Include who your carrier is, what country you're in. Then describe the exact nature of the problem. Then, maybe someone will be able to give good suggestions.
And, by the way, the free bumper program ended some time ago. It also was only a "solution" for one of many possible problems.
    Best of luck.
