Problem with SAP PI7.0 J2ee Engine starting

Hi,
Problem with SAP PI7.0 Server
I am using AIX6.1 and p570
J2ee engine is not starting but I am able to login to ABAP engine.
When I am trying to long in through internet explorer it is not working.
How to check J2ee engine started or not.
If it is not started then how to start J2ee engine.
If J2ee engine problem is there then how to solve the issue and where to check to solve the issue.

Check the url http://ipaddress:5xx00/index.html
If this url shows you the system info page then you j2ee engine is up.
If it is not started then how to start J2ee engine.
Check your server0.log file.
If J2ee engine problem is there then how to solve the issue and where to check to solve the issue.
Check for the problems in log file and do search in sdn or in the market place you will get plenty of info read them and try to resolve the errors.

i have a problem.
I restartet my JAVA ONLY System (a Portal)
The System comes up. All Log files are clean. No Error no warnings etc.
When i now want to connect to the ""SAP J2EE Engine Start Page"
via: http://host.name.com:50000/index.html
The following error occurs:
404 Not Found
SAP J2EE Engine/7.00
The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
as i say.. The engine comes up normal.
ALL really all other applications are running.
When o go to:http://host.name.com:50000/nwa or /useradmin or any other link.
All works great. Only the Startpage cannot be displayed.
So did anyone have a clue why this don`t work?

The index.html was deleted.. i copied it over from our other Testportal.
it was in:
/usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com
anywhere here ... i forgot the exactly Path.
eventuelly you can find the path with httptrace or so?

J2EE engine Start ...Problem

I have Installeld SAP NetWeaver 04 SR1 successfully ..The Manual says
Start the J2EE engine by entering the following URL in your browser
http://<hostname>:5<J2EEinstance_number>00
The J2EE engine Start Page should appear.
But I am Not able to see the J2EEEngine StartPage .I have checked the Sap Management COnsole the SAP DB Instance,SCS as well as J2EE engine instance with dispatcher and server processes is running fine and is in green color.
Can anyone please suggest me as to how to proceed so as to get the J2EE engine Start Page.

I was having the similar issue on my Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server. At times SAP prints stop working. Then i changed Printer Type to "G" and it had solved the problem. It skips the use of SAPLPD service and calling windows printing service directly.
Just try with that.

I am not sure what business process you are describing here - is it some kind of third-party sales order? If so, your join is wrong.
From VB E P, firled BANFN and BNFPO you can go to table EBAN, where in field EBELN you will find the number of the purchase order (if somebody already had an MRP+Me58 run over the PR) which will lead you to table EKKO, and EKPO.
So what we have here (essentially is):
VBAK -> VBAP -> VBEP -> EBAN -> EKKO -> EKPO
But that only solves one of your problems - you still have a long way to go to get invoices, partner and partner roles into there and I am beginning to ask myself what exactly it is you want to evaluate.

Can SAP GRC AC 5.3 connect without any problem with SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise?

I went to the PAM in the SAP Marketplace to see if SAP GRC AC 5.3 could connect to SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise but I can't see all the "Add-On Product Version for...", it's cut off.
Can SAP GRC AC 5.3 connect without any problem with SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise?
If I can't is there any proof about it? I have to show it to a client.

GRC AC 5.3 works perfectly fine with SAP's R/3 4.6c, mySAP ERP 4.7 and ECC systems. In fact we have two 4.7 Enterprise systems connected to GRC AC 5.3 system.
You can get the details of supported SAP ERP systems under prerequisite section of Info page of GRC AC 5.3 , it can be accessed on marketplace at -

Thanks for your message. You can custom set pages but there are no preset of page sizes like A4, A3, ect. I cannot click the size preference, nothing comes up

In such cases where the integration landscape uses multiple middleware tools at different levels, the best approach would be to opt for a file based exchange. As no adapters are likely to be available on the interoperability of these two tools, best approach would be:
PI downloads the data as an XML file (in an agreed format) to a designated folder and Gentran reads the file from the same folder. And for reverse flow follow the same approach.
Alternatively if Gentran is able to make SOAP Based webservice call then it can call to PI interfaces using HTTP/SOAP or can provide a service end point for PI to make a call. You can consult with a Gentran expert on the capabilies of Gentran and the feasibility of this approach,

Now I checked the materials that I got from AT&T Yahoo and
port 25 is used as the outgoing mail port, 110 for incoming.
This is for the POP type account provided by AT&T, not necessarily for an email account and SMTP server not provided by AT&T.
Sounds like AT&T blocks using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or not provided by AT&T on Port 25.
Try the following first.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't work, we will go to plan B.

Problem with SAP Script FAX output

Hi Friends,
I have problem with SAP Script Fax output.
After I issued output using the messge type, the print preview format shows me correct alignments and the right data. But when I go to List display using the menu bar functions from the print preview screen, the list is showing me the right data, but all the alignments at the main window went wrong.
How do I rectify this problem? I need correct alignments in both form display and list display.

J2EE Engine starting problem in laptop

One of the server node is not starting in the laptop when network is not there.
If we connect to network and start the server it is starting both nodes.

Yes, I feel the problem with your IP address. When you are not in the network go to the command line and enter the IPCONFIG, let me know the output. if u didn't get the IPaddress you need to install the loopback adapter to install the IPaddress.

J2EE Engine start error: Database initialization failed!

My J2EE engine now fails to start - jcontrol stays yellow. I've followed Troubleshooting pages from help.sap.com Admin manual topic "starting J2EE Engine".
Background:
I was running through JDI Scenario 2+ on a fresh installed WebAS 6.40 at SP9. Using NWDevStudio2.09, I attempted to load a DC, but servers stopped responding. So I downed everything (in MMC) including offlining the DB, then put DB back online and restart the J2E engine, and now jcontrol stays yellow.

Using the Database Administration section of the help.sap.com library, I found the location of SAPDB/MySQL log files. They are in C:\sapdb\data\wrk\J2E. In 'knldiag' I found entries complaining of Log files being full and tasks put in suspension.
So I figured out to do a full back up of the DB and/or backup the log files. The log file bar (in MMC) still showed 100% full, but I figured out to refresh the view and voila it was empty (so one of the backups emptied it, not sure which one).
After that the DB comes up fine and now my J2E WebAS goes all green.

Problems with SAP logging,tracing in custom LoginModule

We are developing a custom logimodule for our J2EE application on WebAS.
We are using eclipse IDE to develop the code.
We want to use the SAP logging framework in the custom loginmodule.
In this regard we have certain queries:
- If we hard code the log(category) and trace(location) file location in our loginmodules
the logging, tracing works fine i.e. we are able to see the traces etc. in the files at the specified location.
- Our requirement is that we want to leverage the logging tracing mechanism provided by the J2EE engine.That is we want that our traces should appear in the WebAS defaultTrace.0.trc file. Also we want that the trace properties for our loginmodule like severity, TraceFormatting etc. could be configured using the WebAS visual admin tool etc.
As per documentation to configure tracing, we navigated to Log Configurator in visual Admin tool and from there to the destination tab but we don't see our LoginModule int the list of destinations.
How could we enforce our LoginModule to use defaultTrace.0.trc file and let J2EE engine decide
the logging properties like severity etc. for our LoginModule.

Standard ESS SCA import failed with auto-restart of J2EE Engine

we are configuring NWDI for customizing ESS components. ESS version is SAP_ESS 600 SP4 and the WebAS version is EP7.01 SP03. While importing the SAP_ESS components in CMS, Input Mode for buildspace is set to PRIVILEGED automatically in CBS and the server gets restarted repeatedly. the fact that when you start the import, the buildspace mode automatically changes to PRIVILEGED, is normal, means only that the buildspace is reserved for request processing. But it is not normal if your engine gets restarted during the import.

Still, the error message you have provided means that the CBS isn't running properly, could you please try the following:
1. restart the whole j2ee engine where CBS is running.
2. then please go to check CBS web UI -> BuildSpace, then click the Edit button by selecting the buildspace in question.
If the parameter "Input Mode" is not being set to "OPEN", please change it to OPEN and click the Save button.
3. finally please try the import again
If the engine is still restarted at the CBS make step of the import, then I believe it is worth to check the following settings:
0. Is your system meeting the requirements?
Check SAP note #737368 - Hardware requirements of Java Development Infrastructure (http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/737368)
1. doublecheck whether you can see any outofmemory error in the defaultTrace, if yes, check the SAP note

2. If you still face the problem, then please notice the time when the engine got restarted, and check these time related entries in the following log files:

Problem with SAP Content

Hi,
I have standard SAP business content set up to capture the revenue from my R/3 system.
The cube is 0PCA_C01. I run a query on theis cube and the values do not match the corresponding values in my R/3 P&L statement (for the month of September)
There are 5 revenue accounts and when I do an account comparison in R/3, I find that each of the accounts are off by a small amount.
There have been no corrections or incorrect postings in R/3 and the daily delta update to PCA_C01 has never failed.
Note that when I check the previous months (Aug, July etc) the revenue figures match perfectly.
The accounts were closed a few days ago and no transactions have been posted in R/3 since then. The delta updates for the last few days have been running sucessfully.
Please advise where I can start looking for a solution to this issue.

You are saying the report is matching with R/3 for month Aug ,July...etc. So I hope, there is no problem with Query and with update rules..etc.
If you are using Aggreagtes, make sure that all requests are rolloed up. And also make sure that no load is failed .
