Problem with sending text messages replies

After update to OS 3.0 I have problem with sending text messages:
- I CAN send new text message to someone but
- When someone REPLY me, then I CANNOT send next message in conversation
- If I DELETE someone's reply from that conversation text message sends fine.
Anyone have this problem? I have iPhone 3g with OS 3.0 update, previously on 2.x the problem didn't appear. Carrier Orange in Poland

no my girlfriend, was useing my old N75, now she is useing her old phone last night and today. we have been texting with no problems at all. ..so i'm back in the iphone, and we're going to get her a new phone tonight,or she's going to use one of my other back-up phones till we get one for her. called at&t today to see if she could get an early upgrade before oct. just to make me happy with all the BS i've been through (10 hours or more on the phone trying to fix the problem). but at&t came through with their great customer satisfaction!!! NOT!!! so, gonna try and get her a good phone out of contract and see after hers and mine are up might just jump from at&t. very unhappy with them as how they handled this whole thing.

I am having a problem with sending text messages to ONE contact

We were texting just fine until Sunday night. We text several times a day.
As of Monday a text will not go through to my daughters phone. I have done a system reset on my phone, I have cleared the system cache, I tried a different message app, cleared the app cache for the verizon message app, I spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon tech supportthis morning talking to 3 or 4 different people.
I removed her as a contact and deleted our message thread, restarted my phone and tried to send a text via direct dial--didn't work. I can not send a text to this number via my note 4 OR the verizon messaging app on my computer. She is on AT&T. She also spent time on the phone with her carrier going through a lot of steps to figure out if the problem was on her end. They say it is a problem on my end.
I had done no system updates or added new apps between going to bed Sunday after our last message and waking up Monday not being able to text her.
Any ideas ?

Do you use any apps to block calls or texts from people or maybe have a caller ID app that also has it in their app. I would research that. As to me it seems an app on your phone is blocking you. Reason I say that is when you do a system restore on your phone the apps that were saved on your phone via the cloud or even in google playstore sometimes adds them back automatically when you load your account back on there. Here is just a suggestion to try and see if it is on Verizon end or the phone and apps itself. Make a new gmail account on the computer. Then reset your phone and clear cache out and use that gmail address on your phone instead of your current google account and see if you can then send a text. If you can then it is an app that is downloading that is blocking you. That is what it sounds like to me more than anything.

Problems with importing text messages from PC Suit...

Problems with importing text messages from PC Suit 7.1.18.0 to my Nokia 5800
I am trying to import a csv file that contains text messages (Note that this file was created using PC Suit 7.1.18.0) to a subfolder that I have created to My Folders but PC Suits only imports the text messages to the Draft folder. Note that initially it shows that the messages are import in the correct folder but after a refresh it shows them in the Draft Folder. Is their any setting that I should change in the PC Suit or the phone? My computer runs on Windows XP Service Pack 3 and the Nokia 5800 was upgraded to the latest firmware v20.0.012

Most phones only allows importing of draft and archived box for SMS.
To do a restoring, you need to backup the SMS as a .nbu file using PC Suite and restore later.
If you got an SD card, you can also do a backup on the SD Card (backup.arc) then restore later (reset and restore: backup.arc and mmc).

I'd suggest you contact your email provider. They may actually have a problem.

Problem either sending text messages or receiving them

I have been having a problem for over a month. I have an HTC Thunderbolt and my boyfriend has a Samsung Galaxy II, We are both Verizon customers. Suddenly sometime last month, he stopped receiving text messages from me that are more than a sentence or two. We haven't figured out where the cutoff seems to be. But if I send him a message of any length even though my phone says it was sent, it wasn't received on his end. And suddenly a few days ago, he received a longer text message that I had sent him in mid July that he had never received before...and he received it twice. And he also received another old text message from the middle of July, as well, and it was combined with a part of a longer text message I attempted to send him on the weekend. I have no problem sending longer messages to everyone else I communicate with, but for some reason his phone isn't receiving my texts unless they are short messages.
He stopped at a Verizon store today and they told him it must be my phone. It doesn't make sense. My phone sends fine and as proven by the fact that he suddenly received a message over a month old last week, the message did leave my phone. It just took over a month to reach him. There has to be a problem between his number and mine or something within the settings of his phone must need to be changed to allow him to receive my texts when I send them.
I'd appreciate any technical help you can provide. This is really frustrating and aggravating at times when this is the only way we can communicate and our communication has a time requirement.

I text all of the time and I know just how important it is for others to receive my messages. I could only imagine how frustrated you may be when your boyfriend doesn't receive your entire message.
Based on the information you've provided it is difficult to find the disconnect. I personally would prefer to troubleshoot both devices just to be on the safe side. You mentioned you both are on Verizon so that's what we will do!
The easiest step to start with is to completely delete and readd both of your contacts from each of your phones.
Then I would recommend deleting the Message threads from each other on your phones.
If either of you are using a third party messaging application, I would unistall that application for now and see if that corrects the issue.
Try these steps first and let us know if it worked or not!

I am having similar problems. I called my service provider and they say it's not a problem with their network.
Yesterday I was only able to send bbms and post on Twitter intermittently. Today, I can't do either at all. For some reason texting and calling seems to work fine, but none of the social apps do. Please help!

Make sure you have checked off iCloud contacts in your Contacts app under Groups in upper left corner.

I had the same problem. Kept getting message of waiting for activation or check network connections. I also tried every solution out there and nothing worked. This did though: I download the newest version of itunes (through Internet Explorer - Google Chrome wouldn't work). It pulled in my entire library thank goodness and then I plugged my iphone 4s into the computer. I let itunes find it, did a complete backup in icloud, then did a restore. Entire process took a couple of hours, but I now have imessage and facetime back. I was about ready to give up on Apple and go get a different phone ~

Can't send photos with a text message

Every time I try to send a photo from my Camera Roll with a text message it thinks about it for an interminable time then drops leaving an exclamation mark next to the message. It used to be ok but stopped about a week ago. Any ideas anyone?

You're not alone! I have been searching for resolving this problem but I still have the problem.
Things you might want to check is that MMS is "on". Get to this by settings- messaging.
Check that "cellular data" is on.
try to power the iPhone off for a few minutes, then turn back on.
The only thing I have not tried is to reset the network. What I have read is that it wil not affect contacts, media, music. Tap settings- general, then scroll to the botton and tap reset, then tap reset network settings.
I alo wanted to mention that I have no problem sending a photo in an sms/mms message to other ios devices. The photo and text goes through. It's just with other reciepients that have a different device.
I also have Verizon as the carrier and I tried the *228 to program. My phone is also supplied by an enterprise, my work, and reading this Apple troubleshooting, the APN (access network), could have something to do with it on the settings or configuration of the server.

After I upgraded my iphone 4 with the ios 7.1.1 it locks up sending text messages. It will send a few, then mid conversation I will have to turn my phone off and back on, sometimes a few times, before it will allow me to send or receive messages again.

After I upgraded my Iphone 4 with the ios 7.1.1 it locks up while sending text messages. I can usually send a few then will have to restart my phone(often more than once) to get it to send and receive messages again. I have done a back up and complete reset and that has not fixed the problem. Have been told that the ios 7.1.1 just isn't compatible with the Iphone 4 so that's why it is locking up so often, but I am hoping someone else may have a better answer since it can't be undone. 7.1.1 is certainly compatible with the iPhone 4. Just try a reset first.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

SMS text messages are handled by your cellular carrier.
Check with them.

Has anyone have a problem sending text messages and the messages won't get delivered after few minutes? From time to time I would have this problem and it's annoying. I would expect someone to receive it by then and response to my text right away. But when I look up the text it hasn't been delivered and it's in the process. I would hear that the message get delivered after few minutes? What gives? I never had a problem with my iphone 4 i think? Now with iOS 5 it let's me know whether it is delivered or not. This new feature is awesome but disappointing when I know my text hasn't been delivered right away. I'm not sure if it's the software or my iphone 4s or my carrier? anyone suggestions? Thanks!!

I have the same problem when sending iMessages.. Wasnt sure if it was apple or Sprint? But it happens VERY often and I end up having to send it as a text message instead

E90 Problem sending text messages solved by partia...

After a couple of months with my Nokia E90 it stopped sending faxes but kept doing everything else. My provider (O2) suggested checking the settings, the message centre, resetting (not clear) and upgrading the software from Nokia's site. None of these worked.
As I am an O2 select customer, the phone was replaced (twice, thanks for trying O2), the second time with a brand new phone with the same problem. After restoring data from the last backup via pc for the second time, I still had the same problem. Was it the data? A phone virus?
The problem with the texts was eventually resolved by restoring everything except the settings to the phone. I still do not know what caused in the first place, but it I now have all my data, and can change the settings by hand.
Thanks to all at O2 for trying to help, I thought I would post this as when I tried to search for the problems online nothing came up.

OK a couple of months on, it's happened again and this time the partial restore doesn't work. I can't think that I'm doing anything unusual with this phone, so why do I have this problem?

Problem sending text messages....

All of a sudden i cannot l send text messages via my Moto X. I've tried sending to various contacts.....and get same message "message not sent". My phone has received the new update. I can send email, no problem. Anyone with this problem?

Have you checked that the message centre number is still correct?
Go to Messaging > Messaging centres > tap on Provider > Message centre number
