Problem with setMaximumSize [JToggleButton]

Question

Hi to all.
I have a little problem when I set Size of JToggleButton.
I have a panel that is in a JSplitPane.
This panel has GridLayout because I put into many JToggleButtons.
I set PreferredSize, MinimumSize and MaximumSize.
When application starts PreferredSize and MinimumSize works well but when I move with cursor JSplitPane the JToggleButton's size go over of my dimension (MaximumSize).
this is a part of code:

attrPanel.setLayout(gridLayout);
for (int i = 0; i < titoli.length; ++i) {
   chkTitoli[i] = new JToggleButton(titoli);
chkTitoli[i].setPreferredSize(new Dimension(WIDTH_BUTTON,HEIGHT_BUTTON));
chkTitoli[i].setMinimumSize(new Dimension(WIDTH_BUTTON,HEIGHT_BUTTON));
chkTitoli[i].setMaximumSize(new Dimension(WIDTH_BUTTON,HEIGHT_BUTTON));
attrPanel.add(chkTitoli[i]);
