Problem with SmartSound in Premire Elements 11.

Hi,
Here is the problem:
PE 11 automatically installed SmartSound SonicFire Pro5 ver. 5.7.3 and when I click on <Use SmartSound> button,
I have an Error message pop-up saying 'Unable to acquire Serial number for express track. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet and
click OK to try again'.
When you click 'OK', another pop-up asks for Serial# that you can't get since according to SmarSound website 'New serial numbers for versions of Sonicfire Pro less than 5.8 are no longer available.'
There is also note that
If you are using Sonicfire Pro 5.0 through 5.7.4, download and install the v5.7.5 patch. Sonicfire Pro 5.7.5 is compatible on Win XP, Vista, Win 7, and Win 8.
There is a link to the download version 5.7.5 patch.
I applied the patch and have the following entries listed in the Control Panel:
- SmartSound Common Data ver. 1.2.0
- SmartSound Premiere Elements 11x64 Plugin ver. 5.7.3
- SmartSound SonicFire Pro 5 ver.5.7.5
When I tried to run SmartSound through PE 11, I got the same error message as before. Nothing was changed!!!
The last time I successfully used SmartSound with PE 11 on my old computer with Windows 7 Professional a while ago and had no problems.
I installed PE 11 on my new computer with Windows 8.1 and working on a new project. Everything was fine (clips editing, menu, etc.) until I decided to add music through SmartSound.
Any idea on how to make SmartSound work?

feature working (it worked for me)....
STEP 1
Get A New Free Serial Number
According to Frank from SmartSound Customer Service
For now, any Elements users who need a free serial number can email us at [email protected], preferably after creating an online SmartSound account, and we can provide them with a serial number that way.
STEP 2
Entering The New Free Serial Number Into SonicfirePro5.Exe
With Premiere Elements 11 closed.....
Local Disc C
Program Files (x86)
SmartSound Software
Sonicfire Pro 5
and, in the Sonicfire Pro 5 Folder, is the SonicfirePro5.exe which is opened by double clicking it.
Enter the new serial number to unlock Sonicfire Pro and apply all the updates.
STEP 3
Next, Applying Update Patch To Work With Sonicfire Pro 5.7.5
If Sonicfire Pro less than 5.7.5, SmartSound is recommending application of the update patch so that 5.7.5 is in use. See http://www.smartsound.com/support/updates/?product=sfp5
STEP 4
Open Premiere Elements 11 To Find a Working Music Tab/"Use SmartSound" feature.

Problem with Photomerge Exposure, Photoshop Elements 13?. Why does Photomerge Exposure not give me a finished DONE photo. If I open 2 photos, it will merge then, and when I press DONE I get a new photo file that I can save. However, if I open 3 photos, and go through the same process, the software analyzes the photos, I get a new image, BUT when I press DONE, the new image vanishes???? I can open the same 3 photos in Elements 8 and it works fine. any ideas please.

I, too, am having problems in version 11 with Photomerge Exposure. I can merge the 3 photos successfully with version 10. In version 11 when I click done, I am taken back to the Expert mode of the Editor but the merged photo in the photo bin is not accessible. When I first return to the editor, one of the original images (before merge) is selected. When I double/click on the merged photo it doesn't become the active image. In fact, any image I double click on momentarily becomes the active image and then jumps to another one.
The merged photo is visible in the photo bin but I can't select it.
I am running version 11 on my MacBook running OS 10.6.8

Problem with display of many elements in IE11

Hi,
After automatic Windows Updates today I am having problems to see correctly many elements in any webpage, this is more notorious in buttons, where I can always see some weird cross.

Hi Manuel,
Please check in update history if there is any updates for display card.
If so, please remove it and restart the computer the check the results.
If there is no related device driver update, I suspect that the udpates were not installed or configured properly, please perform a system restore back to when the IE 11 work fine, and try to reinstall them one by one.
After each update, restart your computer and then go to next one.
Let's try to find out if one of them cause this issue, and let me know the KB number of this update, I will help to research the root cause.

Windows 8.1 having problems with pinter selection using Elements 13.

I am running Windows 8.1 with Elements 13 and am having problems with PRINT. If I select a printer from the PRINTER menu, Elements recognizes the change of selection, allows me to modify the printer's specific setting and, then, when I PRINT seems to not recognize the selected printer and print of whatever was set as the original printer. Then, I delete the "original" printer in Windows 8.1 and attempt to print again with the same general result except I receive a Printer Not Found error from Windows.
How do I modify the "original" printer setting (seems to be associated with the file)? Note the "original" printer is not the default printer.

Yes, all of the print drivers are up to date (re-verified last evening).
Yes, I can print and select the printer as normal for all of the standard applications I use (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, direct print from file (Explorer)).
I shortened the printer names from the standard Microsoft convention (based on some of the BOG comments). There was no change. In fact after the test sequence noted in #5, I re-implemented the "name shortening" yet again (shorter yet). I launched Elements and ran into the same messages noted in #5 (obviously, the "stored" printer did not exist). Yet after I went through the printer selection process (again as in #5) and, after a lag time, Elements redirected the print job what was the "stored" printer which was renamed....I do not know how Elements associated the deleted "Stored" printer with its old name with the newly named printer since no other application could (I checked).
I have closed and restarted the PC numerous times.
I have deleted all of the printers except the one I wanted to use for the specific print job. In this case, Elements came back with a message it could not access the "stored" printer. I then selected the correct printer, Elements acted like it was allowing to set up the selected printer with the specifics of the print job, and, then when I went to print, Elements again tried to redirect the print job to the "stored" printer (even though it did not exist).
The target printer is a "local" printer (USB connected). The apparent "Stored" printer is a network printer. So, I deleted the PC which has the "Stored" printer from the network (actually not only deleted it from the devices on my PC but literally shut the PC down and disconnected it from the network (two different test)) to no avail (still got the test results in #5).
Yes, I have attempted to print from the Editor (my normal mode) and from Organizer.
I have copied, open a new file and, then, pasted the image I wanted to print to no avail.
Is the a "stored" printer associated with the file or with Elements? If so, how to I modify (or dis-associate)?

Gantt Chart: Problems with more than 39 elements

I have a problem with Gantt Project Chart.

If you limit to 39 rows this works fine, but with 40 rows or more the timeline is not in line with the datagrid.
Strange thing is that as soon as you collapse all tasks the timeline is correct.
Uncollapsing brings back wrong display.
Has anybody seen this behaviour before and can help me out on that?

the "Maximum Rows"-option is as default set to 40.
if you created the chart by "Create Region => Chart => Flash Chart => ..." you can change this value in tab "Chart Series", below the "Build Query"-button.
But I don't know how to change the maximum number of rows, when the chart is created via
"var chart = new AnyChart(''#IMAGE_PREFIX#flashchart/anygantt_4/swf/AnyGantt.swf''); " in a HTML-region.
I'm very interested in finding a solution.

After we completed the .rpd development and ported to the real-time environment, when we try to create requests in Answers of Presentation services by selecting certain columns only and try to see results, we are getting an error if the columns are of NVARCHAR type. The error is given below.
This is stopping end users being not able to create any answers/requests. Please suggest how we can resolve this or if any specific things need to be done to solve the problem.

We have also tried to query the same data through SQL*Plus and it went well. We had no issues with any data. Also the .RPD is working in our local system with the same data, on windows OS. But when we port the .RPD in the Server (Sun Solaris) we are having problems with the columns which are considered as NVARCHAR2 in the database and VARCHAR in the Physical layer of BI.
We observed there is no NVARCHAR2 data type supported in BI administrator in building the RPD. Is there any other datatype supports the NVARCHAR2 datatype in BI?

Problem with version sets in Elements 12

I have just started using elelments 12. I have been having problems with inconsistency in forming version sets. Some sets forms as expected. However, quite often after editing, when returning to Organizer the edited picture is not in a version set with the original and in fact is not even visible. I can get to the edited version only through the "Open" tab in the Editor. I have check the appropriate "Save in version set" in the save menu. Suggestions?

The source of the problem is not clearly found today. It seems that happens on previously converted catalogs.
A workaround seems to have been found : killing the autoanalyzer.exe process in the task manager.

Problem with value in object element declared as NUMBER(26,3)

We have an object OBJ_NAME_1 created like below and total element in the object are around 100 with in which only one element is of data type VARCHAR2(4000). Other are with small size as below

My problem is with value of element amount_1 of array ARRAY_NAME_1 in the procedure. Actually data type of this element is NUMBER(26,3) in object. But from java we are able to pass value like 1234.12345 (with 5 decimal).
The declare section of the procedure are like below :

Actually all the above 3 variable/element has been declared as NUMBER(26,3), then the value in these variables should be with rounded up to 3 decimal place. Then why it is not happening with variable
l_OBJ_NAME_1 . Amount_1 and m_amount_1?

Okay, thanks Patrick. I commented that out so now I can see the full error message. Actually, now the page just returns an "OK" (nothing else), and I click on that to return back to the page where I see:

Okay, so that's evidently a new option in 3.1, it should have just been a 'Hidden' item, not 'Hidden and Protected'. So, I change this back to just 'Hidden', refressh the page, the re-execute it and try to select from the popup again. This time, instead of the more-or-less blank page with only "OK" on it, I also get "ORA-01722: invalid number" above the "OK". When I click the "OK", then I am returned back to the last good 'runnable' page I executed (since the search page is no longer 'runnable' (the javascript evidently is still returning an object instead of a number).
On a previous run of trying to track the problem down, I made the :P3_SEQ as a regular text field so I could try to see what was going on, and it briefly displayed "[object]" before the search executed and returned the error.
So thanks for helping me get past the first stage so I could see a better version of what the error is. Now I just need to figure out why an object is being returned instead of number. This worked fine in 3.0, and the only thing I can think of is that something, somewhere in 3.1's javascript is slightly different now, but I really don't know.

Problem with "transitions" in PS Elements 9

I am a long time Roxio user, but recently purchased PS Elements 9. I find some things vastly superior, while other things seem to be a severe step in the wrong direction. At first glance "transitions" fit into the latter category. My problem is that if I use a simple transition such as a "cross dissolve" the transition is not visible at all, even if I lengthen the duraton to a lengthy 10 seconds. I'm hoping that the problem is simply that I am new to PSE and that I am not doing somthing correctly. BTW, if I use a transition such as a page turn, it works fine, which only makes the invisibility of the dissolve all the more puzzling.

The A-B Roll editing was the only way to do it, back in the days of film. One created one reel, with the footage alternating between segments of black leader. The second reel was created with black leader in the places where the A Roll had footage, and footage, where the A-Roll had black leader. The footage overlapped by 1/2 of the desired Duration of the Transition - Cross-Dissolve, and both the A-Roll and the B-Roll were printed onto a single reel of film by the lab. The editor had to account for the Handles, or the Cross-Dissolve did not work in the print.
There were basically 3 Transitions possible: the Butt-Cut, Fade-to-Black (which in Video is most often called Dip-to-Black), and the Cross-Dissolve. The first was just what it sounds like, and the Tail of one Clip was butted to the Head of the next. The junction was either glued, or taped into place. The Fade-to-Black could be done in the lab, or with either the shutter, or the iris in camera. The latter was done primarily in the lab, though I had one camera that allowed for a Cross-Dissolve, by rewinding the last footage by a number of Frames, and then with the adjustment of the shutter angle, a Cross-Dissolve was created. One had to count carefully, or that Transition would be lop-sided, and not look good and smooth. Basically, this was a controlled double-exposure, created in-camera.
With Video editing, things improved, and if a switcher was placed between the source video tape machine, and the destination tape machine, more could be done. When NLE's were developed, the A-B Roll layout came along. It was not until several generations later, that single-Track editing became available. For anyone with a film background, the concept of Handles was easy to comprehend, as they had worked with them, in that overlap. Users, new to editing, however, found Handles a very abstract concept.
I still do a lot of A-B Roll layouts, just like Ted's example, but usually with animated Titles, and PiP compositions.
Even though I have many hundreds of available Transitions, I still rely almost exclusively on "the Big 3" - Butt-Cut, Dip-to-Black and Cross-Dissolve. Before I would use any other, I would need for it to enhance my "story." I even use the Big-3 to tell part of the story, and each has its place. The audience's concepts of time and place can be enhanced and expanded by their use and by their attributes, such as Duration. I know that this is getting into the realm of "story telling," and gets beyond the mechanics of a Transition.

Problems with tablet in Photoshop Elements 10

I installed photoshop elements 10 from my wacom eu account after I got a Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch, as this was a part of the purchase. The installation went painfree, and I have no issues using photoshop with my computer mouse or touchpad.
However, when I connect my tablet, start photoshop elements and press down my pen to draw, what i do with my tablet dosen't synchronise on the screen and lags. Sometimes it dosen't draw at all. Photoshop also reacts as if i right clicked when I lift the pen in both cases. How do I solve this?
I have the latest driver, I just installed everything a couple of days ago, I use windows 7.
PS: I had a very similar problem after first installing ArtRage3, but I solved this problem by disabling Winpad in the preferences. I don't know if this is relevant, just as a note.

Has any had a problem with Collage feature in Elements 12 with Yosemite?

I use the Collage feature in Photoshop Elements 12 and with the upgrade to OS X Yosemite it no longer works properly. You cannot drag photos around and in general is is buggy. Has anyone had this problem?

Problem with Dynamic Node & UI Elements

                                        The scenario is to create an Questioaire.Since the number questions which I get from R/3 may vary, I have created the Dynamic Node which is mapped with Dynamic set of Radio button Group by index for options & Dynamic text view for displaying Questions.. A New Dynamic Node will be created for each set of Questions .The Number of questions displayed per page is controlled by the Static Counter Variable....
                                          Now the issue is ,if i click back button the count will be initialized so again it needs to trigger the DoModifyView(). at that time It is arising an exception "Duplicate ID for view & Radio button ..." because while creating Dynamic node i used to have "i" value along the Creation of node name...

Its not possible to create a new node whenever i click the Back button.

      We can Loop through the Node Elements but how can we do Option Button Creation for each set of question Options?. At design time we can not have the radio buttons,because we do not know how many set of questions are available at the Backend.

New Problem with cropping in Photoshop Elements 8.0

I use adobe photoshop elements 8 for years already and it has worked perfectly up until now. When I crop a picture instead of it cropping when I click on the check mark (as in the past) it reduces it to a small window with just gray in it....no reduced picture at all. Did a setting get thrown off or something? Help is appreciated!

At the far left end of the options bar is a tiny triangle. Click it and choose Reset Tool from the popout menu.

Problem with text in photoshop elements 7

I am trying to make a recipe book from odd fun food on-line. Instead of typing all of the text in below the pictures of the food, I tried to copy it from the website and paste it onto photoshop 7. I selected "new" and then tried to paste, the option wasn't there. I then went back to the website and saved the text to my documents. I named it "pop". It was saved as "pop.txt". I went back to photoshop and tried to open the file. An error message appeared stating that "the file could not be opened because it is the wrong type of file". I then went back to the website and copied the text once again and pasted it onto Microsoft Works Word Processor. I saved it on there and it was saved as a ".wps" file. Once again photoshop could not open it because "it was the wrong type of file". All I want to to is to be able to copy text or a picture from a site or Word or whatever and then be able to paste it onto Photoshop Elements 7. Is this possible? If so, please tell me how. If not, please give me another alternative. I would appreciate it so very much! I have been trying to do this for 4 days now! Losing patience!!! Thank you!

You can use the type tool in photoshop elements 7.
1. copy your text as you did before. (i copied some your post)
2. In pse7, using the picture you want to paste the text in, select horizontal type tool.
3. Click on the image where you want your text (you can move the txt after you paste)
4. After you click on the image with the type tool, the cursor will blink.
Just right click and select paste.
5. Now your text is pasted into a editable type layer, which can be changed just like
any other type layer.
