Problem with SPA232D + SPA302D ringback tones??

I recently installed a new SPA232D ATA and SPA302D DECT handset onto our office network, which already uses a trusty SPA525G2 desk phone. Both the SPA525 and the SPA232 register with a hosted SIP provider on separate lines. I don't have any other phones (analgoue or otherwise) connected to the SPA232. After configuring the device and entering a bunch of regional settings, most things with the new phone work as expected.
However, when I use the SPA302 handset (via the SPA232) to call the SPA525, I hear an odd ringback tone that sounds only once followed by silence until the call is picked up or goes to VM. The destination phone continues to ring and can be picked up as normal to initiate the call. Also, the tone is different from the ringback tones entered into the regional settings of either device. Calling other phones and other numbers (outside my SIP account) result in ringback tones that are correct for our region. I did a very quick syslog capture with wireshark and I see a 100->183->200 SIP sequence on these calls, whereas other calls seem to show a 100->180->200 sequence. I didn't see any 182s. Not sure if that is important.
Any idea what might cause this?
Also, a couple of other minor problems reagrding the SPA232D + SPA302D combo:
- The SPA232 will not automatically register to the SIP service after a reset or power cycle, and makes no attempt to reconnect after the intial failure. It will register immediately, however, if the voice component is restarted after a config change in the http GUI. I have set network delay to 0, but noticed no difference.
- The SPA232 (or SPA302) seems to ignore most regional settings. Changes to tone frrequencies and cadences in the config make no difference to the tones heard through the SPA302. Do these need to somehow be resynced with the handset?

It IS important. The 180 code is "generate ringback tone locally" command. The callers phone will create ringback tone according it's (regional) configuration. The 183 code is "I will sent you ringback tone as audio" - so local phone generate no tone, just play what it come via audio channel from called device or target exchange to it.
So you need to check configuration of exchange that connect call from SPA232D to SPA525 (e.g. call with broken ringback tone).

    Still trying to get a handle on this beast, playing with various controls.  Here's a snapshot with default settings and then after auto is invoked.  Default appears ok, just a small bit of clipping, but unless I'm missing something something is wrong with auto.

    'Auto Tone' is simply not good enough to bother using, IMO. (not a big deal for me, since I prefer to "manual" tone anyway, still...).
    PS - I have seen this over-darkening behavior in the past which I believed was due to a single overextended channel, which for reasons I don't understand, was not shown in the Lightroom histogram, but you can see it in the histogram of the Mfr. software.

  • Problem with SPA 2102 (no tone/phone1 led not on)

    Dear All, We are using spa 2102 adapters, two of them are working fine, one has some problem. The phone1 led is not working i.e, the phone has no tone. if we connect the adapter to PC through Ethernet its working fine and the DHCP is assigning the IP to adapter. Kindly resolve the issue.     The problem is resolved!
    I called the service provider and they told me to put the IP in the DMZ or outside friewall. But i just reserved an IP in DHCP server for this device and then put that IP in the Linksys seetings page as static IP rather DHCP.
    It starts working and i was able to call and recieve calls.

    Have you  activated the Advanced Calling feature?  That and ringback tones don't get along, and ringback tones are unable to be used if you have that feature.
    If that isn't the issue, then call customer service and see if they can figure it out - 800-922-0204 or *611 from your handset.

  • IPhone 4 problems? I'm having a ton of problems with my IPhone. Help?

    I'm having a ton of problems with my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3. Yesterday, I accidentally added a keyboard shortcut that was extremely long and it screwed up my iPhone. For one, the keyboard section of settings would take forever to open, and when it did open and I tried to delete the shortcut, my phone would restart and when I got back, the shortcut was still there. So I reset my phone. 7 times. And it still didn't work. I finally ended up using find my iPhone to erase it and then it worked. The shortcuts were gone and my phone stopped randomly restarting every 5 minutes. But when I got home, I plugged it into iTunes to get all my music an photos back on. I set it up as a new phone. After it was done syncing, I changed the name to the name of what it was before I reset it for the first time. Then, all of the sudden, it started crashing again. Sure enough, the shortcuts were there again. How do I get my music and photos back on my phone without the keyboard shortcuts being added back on? BTW, my songs are all off of CDs so I can't just re download them from the iTunes Store.

    It sounds like you restored it with your backup because the shorcuts were back on there.  Restore again, as new without your backup.  They sync your media back on.

  • Problem with custom tone curves

    I have  a problem with saving custom tone curves and don't know what to do about it. I am running Lr 5.7.1. on OS X 10.10.3 but I know this problem was there on OS X 10.10.2.
    The problem is as follows, if I create a tone curve a try to save it Lr does not save it in under /Users/{UserID}/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Curves as it should; instead it places it under /Users/{UserID}/. As a result the custom tone curve does not appear in the Point Curve list.
    2 items of additional/useful information:
    1) I can literarily see the Save dialog jumping from the correct folder, /Users/{UserID}/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Curves, to the incorrect folder, /Users/{UserID}/
    2) If I manually move the file to right location it appears in the Point Curve list
    I have checked permissions and the User ID has Read/Write access. I have also made visible hidden folders with no luck.
    Any suggestions are very welcome.

    Make sure the parameters passed to HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION are correct :
    Rather than passing them directly, pass :

    Lock the PERNR with BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE
    Read values

    ENDSELECT.
    Perform HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
    Provided you fill all the key fields : SUBTYPE,OBJID.... RECORDNUMBER. (passed from p9008)
    Why ?:
    For an Emp, a number of records may be created, depending on the Time constraint of the Infotype
    Say when you modify, the actual record may be delimted to sy-datum and a new record may be inserted

    Basline : BEGDA and ENDDA are very important in determining which record to modify!!

  • Ringback tone issue on outbound call with full E.164 number between 2 sites

    Hi there. 
    We have been encounting issue where site A calling site B with full E.164 number users expereiencing no ringback tone on caller while phone is ringing on site B. 
    In CUCM, Route Pattern is configured to use TEHO for long distance call. For instance, if site A dial site B with full number with area code, call should be sending out via site B VG.
    It was working fine until recently, there is no change made on VG nor in CUCM.
    I have attached dial-peer config of site B, should i add below subcommand under all dial-peer # pots?

    Yes I have expereinced this too..Even when you call an external number and the user rejects the call, you hear a normal ringback tone over sip trunks..I think the issue is that the ITSP sends a 183 session progress or 180 ringing even before knowing what the state of the called device is..
    You can send us a debug ccsip messages for a test call and we will be able to know exactly what is going on

  • Problem with SMS tone

    Hi I have a problem with my iPhone..
    Sometimes when i receive an SMS, the Sound that I have allocated to play when I receive the SMS does not play..
    This only happen sometimes, and I cant explain why its not playing..
    All the settings is correct (Volume is up , The SMS tone is set, Its not on Silent)

    they are fixing the apps issue, i have never heard of their being no ringtone showing on ur iphone or itunes, have u downloaded itunes 8 as u will need that for the update, sounds like alot of your probs should be fixed, they are fixing the battery life issue i still dont use my iphone with 3g on as i have no service so im waiting for a major fix for that...well lets hope its all fixed by this update and nothing is screwed up by it as im sick of the firmware screwing up a part of the iphone, only good stable firmware was 1.1.4

  • Tone problem with iphone

    Hi there! I have a problem with my iphone. The message tone as well as the alert tone is terrible since its prolonging the normal sound itself and it's annoying. I checked it with Apple Center but they told me that they only replace it and not repair. They even asked me to try to reset first, well I did, at first it's ok but after few days the same problem I encountered. So I did replaced my unit with a new one, the same thing at first its ok but later on still the same. The same thing happened to my husband's iphone. Anyone help us with this? Thanks a lot.

  • Ringback Tones Times Limitation Problem (poor web design)

    When managing ringback tones times, I found the Start time cannot be later than the End time.
    This limitation (to continue from PM into AM) should be removed.
    I would like to set a ringback tone for Non-Business Hours and weekends: 6PM-7AM MTWTF and Full day on weekends. 
    I cannot do that because my desired Start Time is PM and the End Time is AM.
    The previous web interface would allow to go past midnight on time set.
    Also, it would be good to control minutes (from 7:30PM to 5:45AM, not only 7PM to 6AM).
    Please, advice.

  • Tons of problems with original iphone since 2.0 update

    i have the 4gb iphone got it the first week it came out and have not had a problem with it since it came out. I think in the past year i had to restore it twice. Since the 2.0 i have a list of problems.
    1. when i turn my phone of it turns it self right back on.
    2. The speaker sounds like it is blown it make a bad crackling.
    3. I keep getting a message that tells me that my phone is not compatible with this accessory would i like to go in to airplane mode. Even thought nothing is plugged in and with this problem it turn the screen on every couple of min so my battery is dead by mid day.
    4. My sound sometimes does not work ex. keyboard or apps.
    5. and i have not been able to download apps or from my phone or. i have to delete the app from my phone and reinstall it.
    with all these problems i have to restore my phone once our twice a week to get it to work properly. i am at the point of going back to my old phone just so i can have a phone that will work all day.

    I tried restoring the iPhone as a new one, but since it wont back up on iTunes in the first place after the restore I get an error stating "the last backup on xx/xx/2008 is corrupt" and had to re-enter all new contacts just like when I first bought the phone. This only happened after the 2.0.2 software update...what the he11 did that update do my phone? I'm almost hoping i can return this phone to get my old one back...which actually worked btw.

  • SPA232D/SPA302D issues

    I have a few issues with the wireless SIP handsets that we've deployed.  Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction.  Thanks!
    1. Handset goes to a busy signal when sending the phone number to dial.  If you try dialing the same number after this is encountered the call goes threw fine.  Just for some reason it occasionally goes to a busy signal when you first dial.  From looking at server logs it doesn't look like the Handset makes it as far as trying to dial the number at the server.  Any ideas?
    2. SPA302D handset occasionally goes to sleep and will not come back on until it is placed in the charging cradle.  At which point it pops back on and acts like nothing was ever the matter.  Any ideas why sometimes you can't get it respond until it's placed on the charging cradle?   Battery is fine by any metric.

    Ok, after a great deal of traffic sniffing, logs, and endless testing we believe the problem is firmware related.   So, guess we're just waiting on firmware fixes if they ever arrive.  End results of our testing copied below: 
    When a properly handed call is sent from the ATA here is the normal flow of messages exchanged between it on the platform;
    1. ATA Invites
    2. Platform Unauthorized
    3. ATA ACK Unauth
    4. ATA Invite with nonece challenge
    5. Platform 100 Trying
    6. blah blah blah
    What's happening occasionally with these ATAs
    1. ATA Invites
    2. Platform Unauthorized 
    3. ATA Invite
    4. Platform Request Pending
    5. ACK Unauth
    You'll see that the Invite>unauth>ack unauth>invite is out of order in the second sequence. For SOME unknown reason this happens occasionally. I think it is related to making several calls in quick succession VIA the ATA. What's misleading here is that it happens to the users sometimes when they first pick up the phone without dialing previously BUT what if other users connected to that ATA had already made calls?
