Problem with Stamp Cloning Tool in CS5?

Hello,
I am having the darndest problem that I've never encountered before. I am using the cloning tool in CS5 and I am trying to stamp clone one part of the photo and clone it to another part of the photo. The problem is that after I option click and then drag it to the part I need, dark spots show up instead? What is wrong here? Below is an example. Thanks.
I am running Photoshop CS5 for Mac with the latest updates.

We can't quite see it in your image, but have you got the Blend mode for the clone tool set for Difference perhaps? Otherwise go to the dropdown top let of Options bar, and see if you have any presets for that tool, and reset it. If none of that helps, time to reset the Preference file (Shift Cmd Opt as you open Photoshop)

Lightroom 5 Mac. Problem with the Radial Tool. I use this tool a lot. I must have hit a hot key by accident because between photos the marquee lines have disappeared and i don't know how to get them back. Without the marquee lines there I cannot rotate or expand the radial tool.

I have attempted to uninstall, empty trash and a fresh download from Adobe. The problem is still there...

CS5: Problem with the brush tool

Hi there,
I have a problem with the brush in CS5.
My system:
Win 7 Home Premium
ATI Graphics Card (Radeon HD 5770)
When I use the "Alt" key and right mouse button to change the size or the "hardness" of the current brush there is no more the red color (inside the brush) indicating the "hardness" (or the size).
I already updated the driver of my graphics card and checked the preferences (disabling and enabling OpenGL).
There were no other modifications to my system (despite Windows Updates and the Update to Camera Raw 6.4).
Any hints?

Thanks for your answer. I thought that I have used Photoshop (and the brush resize mouse command) after installing the 11.3 version of the catalyst driver. But it seems I was wrong. I will downgrade now to 11.2.

Problem with Adobe Aplication Manger/Updater cs5

i have just installed my CS5 Premium on my new (purchased used) macbook pro after a clean install (OSX 10.8.5)
All the programs works fine but the Aplication Manger say there is updates for all the programs so i open it and and start the updates
it downloads as it shud (according to the progress bar) but when i shud install the updates it gives me the following error messages:

I have tryde quitting and tryde again several times with no luck
Anny ideers on how to fix this ?

My Application Manager says somthing else. It's downloading the updates but then the installation fails. Normaly I can live without the upgrades, but my Camera RAW format is not compatible with the old version of Cameraw Raw and I realy need ad least this one.

Problem with using mouse scrollwheel within CS5?

Hey all. Just upgraded my PS from CS3 to CS5, and I seem to be running into issues with the scrollwheel on my mouse.
When trying to use it from inside CS5 (say, inside a long 'Open...' window), it seems to lock up the entirety of Photoshop for a moment or two every few seconds. Checking the net out there, it looks like there appeared to be a problem with mouse wheels, but that was supposedly fixed nearly a year ago.
I checked for any updates or patches, but the most recent update I can see on the Adobe site is to 12.0.4, which has me doubly confused, as my copy of CS5 say that it is version 12.1, which, theoretically, is a more recent copy...?
I can provide system info, etc. if needed, but since I have not found anything along these lines since a year ago, I'm guessing there's probably some simple thing I'm missing somewhere.

You mean Photoshop plugins? No, the version of CS5 I'm having issues with is fresh as a daisy, just digitally downloaded and run for the first time earlier today. I think my old copy of CS3 has some, however, although since they are not being loaded into CS5 (presumably) I'm guessing those wouldn't be the culprit. If this helps any:

Problem With File Crashing in Photoshop CS5

Hello I have a design file that I just created in Photoshop CS5 last night. I went in to do some editing today and it keeps craahing within a few seconds of being opened. I have never had this problem with a file before and I need it to turn in at work. ANy helpful ideas out there on what may be happening? It's happened at least twenty times now....

If you do a search, you will find several threads dealing with file corruption in CS5/ CS5.1. The long and short of it is, that the file is a goner, but feel free to try things like opening it in another program (Art Rage, Corel Painter, GIMP) or image viewer (XnView, ACDSee) to recover at least parts of it...

Problem with fading out particles in cs5

I have a problem with fading out particles or anything for that matter in my CS5 after effects! I set up the key frames right. O opacity at first and whatever number at next and it fades in fine, But when I try to do the reverse it will not fade out and only stops the effect if I cut its durration at the red par representing it on the top of the time line. This produces and rough aburpt cut of the effect which will not due. Please can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong that I can't fade out particles with opacity?

First question: What OS and what's the build of CS5.5?
Second question: What effect are you using? There are a bunch of ways to generate particles.
Last question: if you turn off the effect can you get the layer to fade out? Pressing Alt/Option + t will set a keyframe for opacity on your layer and reveal the keyframe in the time line. Do that, set the value to 0, then move down the timeline a few frames and set the value to 100. This should generate another keyframe. Now move down a few more frames and press Alt/Option + t or change the value for opacity to anything and then back to 100, or copy the previous keyframe and paste to set a 3rd keyframe. Finally move down a few more frames and set the value to 0. You should have 4 keyframes in your tlimeline for opacity. If you want to clean up the layer press Alt/Option + ] to set the out point for the layer.
Everything should work just fine. Turn on the effect and your layer and the effect should fade out.
If you want to do something else with the particles, like fade out a particle over the lifetime of the particle we'll need to know which plug-in you're using.

Problems with Photoshop cs6 tools

I just got Photoshop cs6, and I am probably at intermediate level in expertise. When I try to use the marquee tool, the lasso tool or the quick selection tool on an image, the image just goes black. I have to click back to "Open" on the History the get the actual image back. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I have never had this problem with other versions of Photoshop.

Problems with the 12.0.4 CS5 update aka poor support

In my 30 years as a technical support director for national and global companies I would have been fired long ago if the customer suport I provided was as bad as this has been. Love the products -- regret the support.
Since updating to 12.0.4 from 12.0.3 a number of 3rd party plug-ins have stopped working. In talking with the respective plug-in support teams they report that some of the conduits that pass information between LR3.4 and CS5 (12.0.4) are broken and that they are attempting to fix them.
I have now been on a weeklong thread with Adobe support in which offshore support offers me canned responses and never read my responses. Case in point. In my last interaction over the last few days I've asked how to revert back to 12.0.3. Instead of a direct answer they offered another solution to the problem.
Anyone else had similar issues? The problems I'm having issues with are NIK and OnOne plugins -- not all of them but just a few. I'd reinstall from my original disks but the I'd be back to 12.0.0.

I see some indirect problems with OnOne Software's Perfect Resize product.
I have been planning to send them a note, though I imagine they're already aware of the problems.

Problem with pen & brush tools

Hi,
I've been at this for all day. I reset preferences and reinstalled but it didn't help.
I select either pen or brush tool, set the brush size to lets say 16pt, choose a default width profile and set the brush as basic. As i draw the line/make the anchor point the settings are reset to 1pt, normal width profile and sometimes 2pt oval. I can reselect the line and apply the settings then, as i click on the artboard the settings remain and if i try to draw a new line the settings are reset again.
I'm using cs5 on mac.
Any ideas?

You can't.
You can not have an oval caligraphy brush with a width profile assigned.
There's no workaround for that. It simply can not be done. If you want a profile, you can't use a caligraphy brush. If you want an oval, you can't assign a profile.
There is no way to set up a specific brush how you are asking. The two features are conflicting. The purpose of an oval brush (or any caligraphy brush) is to allow you to alter the width of the brush stroke as you draw. The purpose of a profile is to alter the width of a stroke as well. You can not have two items trying to fight for the same appearance. It's like asking how can I draw a rectangle with no fill but looks green in the middle. You can't.
I believe what you need to do to achieve the appearance you want is to simply draw a path, set a profile, then manually adjust the profile with the width tool if needed. You can get this to look almost identical to an oval caligraphy brush if desired. Which is why you can't do both at the same time.

I have some issues with Photoshop CC 2014. The tools "Background Eraser Tool" and "Blur" won't work correctly. When I’m holding down the left mouse button and trying to erase or blur some area, the tools don’t affect the whole area but just connect the start and the last points – like drawing a line. These troubles exist with mentioned tools only, other tools work correctly.
I’ve restored each tool separately, restored all the tools together, installed new drivers for tablet, re-installed Photoshop and even Windows. Nothing helped. These tools worked correctly earlier with the same adjustments, but one day something went wrong.
How can I make the tools work correctly?

Csa 6.0 problem with software deployment tool

Hi Guys,
I am having some problems with csa 6.0 and a software deployment tool called capainstaller, it resides on the client and picks up packages on some server shares and executes them from there, or copies it locally. We have added it to the class that defines mass software deployment like we did in 5.2, which works fine in 5.2, in 6.0 we are getting alot of applications getting put into @untrusted, for some reason. I can't figure out if i am supposed to make general exeptions for shares and local directories where the deployment tool reads its packages from ? In that case which classes should i modify, i am seeing alot of classification from the module called Security - Untrusted Content Classification, and this gives me alot of headaches.

Well, the Mass Software Deployment class, is where you are supposed to put marimba, in 5.2 this was fine, and worked for most of the installations i have done. in 6.0 the big break came when i found out that you can't use UNC network paths in a file set, it just doesn't work. If you put it is a literal straight in the same field as the altiris and sms are in the built-in rules, that works, maybe your marimba agent is also part locally installed and part gotten from the network like ours is ?

Problem with TouchUp Text Tool

I am using Acrobat 9.0 Professional, recently when editing files with the TouchUp Tool I have been noticing a distortion of text after the document is saved and re-opened. Not sure why this is happeningmm but with this problem the TouchUp tool is completley useless as it compleltley distorts my PDF documents I have created. After I save the document then re-open it, there will be random spacing throughout the document and in the middle of words. Now I got to go back through all my forms, which I have a lot, and completley redo them to fix what the TouchUp tool has screwed up. If anyone has any idea why this is happening, or when this nasty little bug will be fixed, please let me know ASAP.

Thanks for the tip to look at embeded fonts. Not sure why, but it was substituting a font, even though it was not a special font and the document was created on my machine. I removed the checkmark to embed font and then made a change and then saved it. When i opened it, it id dnot put random spacing throughout the document liek it did before. Unfortunately that Embed font is allways checked upon re-opening a PDF, so if i want to edit a font, I just gotta go into properties and remove the Embed checkmark. Kinda anoying, will try to see if i can set it to default to be off.

and dmesg says:

I've searched google and this forum and found nothing please help.

Problem with web server tools

I have a strange problem. I have a multi instance coldfusion MX 7 server installed on a server. I have several instances created and linked with several IIS websites.
I did it with the java tool webserver configuration tool, but now when I try to add a new link with a new instance and a new website I got the warning message :
No available port could be found for Jrun Server XXXXX proxy service.
I searched a lot on google but found nothing on that issue

Now, this basically works fine, BUT there are two
little problems:
The PHP compiler's output on the console always
starts with
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.0
Content-type: text/html
The problem is that this is also included in the Web
Servers output. So the page that the client receives
also always starts with the above message.
The other problem is that the Java program reads the
PHP compiler's output in one single line.
So I'm looking for an alternative method to read the
PHP compiler's output from the console and for a way
to delete this message(X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.0...)
from the beginning of the compiler's output.
Your help is appreciated.
To remove the starting text, you may try it manually if it's contant text. For example:
liner = liner.substring("X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.0...".length());
If your liner variable contain one big line of your output, then your compiler's output linefeed must be different than the JVM you used to run your java program. Find out what your newline char(you may check your byte values) is on your php Compiler output and then you may manually trying to split it. For example:
String[] lines = liner.split("\r");
