Problem with strange border-colors on windows 2000

On windows 2000, I have the problem, that my JButtons, JComboboxes and so on are rainbow-colord (if I do not set a special Border to theser Components). What can I do (if possible, I would not set explicit borders to all Components; and for Popups-Dialogues, it is not possible to set spcial borders, is it?)
Thank you for any help!

I'm seeing the exact same behavior on my 8.1 Laptop.  I tried deleting the Skype tmp folder as suggested elsewhere, I also uninstalled and reinstalled Skype for Desktop and still can't hang up a call  and often can't answer a call either.  Makes Skype completely useless at this point.

    Hi all
i'm installing oracle 8i enterprize edition on windows 2000 professional.
At the end of the installation,in the configuration tools step when it says that
the following tools will be automatically started for you etc...
the oracle database configuration assistant keep failing and i get the following message in the text file dbSilentCreate
< 8I\starterdb is an invalid command line argument. >
what should i do? anyone familiar with this problem ?

This should be a workaround for your problem. Let me know if it works or not.
    1. Create a temporary directory on your server.
    2. Copy the contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1.
    3. Search the directory structure created in step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
    4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
    5. Run the setup.exe from the \install\win32 directory and install Oracle 8.1.x.

  • Problems with Runtime.getRuntime().exec in Windows 2000

    Hello,
I have a batch file that I want to run from my java application. My code is the following:
    try {
            Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd.exe /c C:\\temp\\shortcut.bat");
    } catch (Exception e) {
         System.out.println(e.getMessage());
}I was developing on windows XP and it worked just fine. But then I tested it on windows 2000 and it didn't work. The batch file is okay, because if I run the batch file myself it works just fine, even from the command line. I get no errors what so ever, it just doesn't do anything...
Can somebody help me with this?
    thx in advance

    thank you all so much
I figured it out... It was a combination of two things that went wrong.
First one: in my batch file I had:
cd C:\tempwhich worsk fine in XP, but in it doesn't in 2000. In 2000 it has to be:
    C:
cd \temp But just changing that wasn't enough, I also needed the "start"
Now it works just fine on 2000, hopefully it'll still work on xp as well.
    THX!

  • Problem in installing Forms 6 on Windows 2000

I have problem in installing forms 6 on windows 2000.
    Please advise me.
    null

    Hello,
I've been using Dev 2000 ver 6i for several months sucessfully on Win 2K RC2. The compiled .fmx's work fine with the ver 6.0 runtime environment under NT 4.0.
The only problem is that the Forms Server won't work till the 1st patch set comes out
(only Oracle knows when!) , so you can't test or deploy the forms as web apps on Win 2K yet. OAS 4.0 appears to work ok on Win 2K.
I have been using the Beta version of Dev 6i and will upgrade to the release version eventually, probably when the patch comes out.

  • Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

    hi
i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
so what should i do for my problem?

I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.

  • Color problem with ProPhoto RGB color space

    Hi, everyone,
I have wery special problem I think. I use MacBook pro 15" with retina display, adobe Photoshop CC and when I export RAW (from Nikon D7000) from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop with settings: 16 bit TIF, color space: ProPhoto RGB I have a problem with displaying the correct colors. As you can see in this picture:
My problem are some "green" artefacts in absolutely black and white picture. I tried myself to solve this problem and found the following facts: when I convert picture into Adobe RGB or sRGB color space is everything OK - without green artefacts.
But here is one important fact: I have calibrated monitor by datacolor spyder4elite and problem with ProPhoto RGB incorrect color displaying is only when the color calibration configuration is loaded. When I change my display calibration to standard apple color LCD profile than is everything OK.
But using uncalibrated monitor and also Adobe RGB color space are no right solutions for me.
My question is why I have problem with displaying ProPhoto RGB color space in photoshop under calibrated monitor profile and can anybody help me please?
    Thanks for answers.

That's a classic example of the basic problem with 16 bit color. There is no solution that I know of.

  • Problem with thousands and decimal  separator (Excel 2000)

Hi, i have a problem with the download option to excel 2000.
When downloading numbers over 1000 the thousands separators change in decimal separators.
    My config is:
    Locale (location): Español - España
    User Interface Language: Español
For example, if I have a value as 1800:
    1) in OBIEE show "1.800" (ok)
    2) in Excel 2000 show "1,8" (bad)
If i choose Locale (location): English - United Stated and
    User interface language Español.
    1) in OBIEE show "1,800" (bad)
    2) in Excel 2000 show "1.800" (ok)
Can someone help me solve my problem?
I need to show the same result in OBIEE and Excel, that is, "1.800" with "." not with ",".
    Thanks

    Hi,
The thousands separator change in the backend dind't work. (+ it only works for text input fields, not for text fields)
Anyhow, this is how we created a workaround :
Suppose we did this : <b>NSTR(@CREDITLIMIT,"C.2")</b>
This resulted in the field being displayed as <i>67,234.56</i>
The 'dirty' way to convert this to an european format is :
    <b>REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(NSTR(@CREDITLIMIT,"C.2"),",",";"),".",","),";",".")</b>
    Output is <i>67.234,56</i>
(we just replaced the '.' by ',' and vice versa)
I still feel quite uncomfortable with this solution, but this is the only way we got it to work.
I really hope a next patch/servivepack provided a more elegant solution for this problem... (hint hint)

Hi, I have a problem with fonts because in the window I can't see the font, they are transparent. how can I fix this?

    giadad,
    It sounds as this issue:
Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.
It was first presented in this post #15 by TheUlser:

  • Why will a stand alone executalbe with an installer work on windows 2000 and crashes on windows xp professional?

When I run the setup.exe file on a Windows 2000 system it installs properly, but the same file run on a XP Professional system I get an error stating Fatal Error: Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
See here for more information on the specific installer I'm trying to use.
In fact I get this error for any stand alone executable I try to install on any XP machines. I am using LV 7.1. Is there a way to manually install eve

    Thanks

Sure you can Install a lv application manually. just copy the exe-file,
support files in a folder. For the runtimeengine just copy the file
lvrte.dll in the folder of your application or in the windows system folder.
    Hope that helps, Niko

  • Problems login with scanners to sapwebconsole (using Windows 2000)

    Hello,
We are currently testing SAP system with SAPwebconsole in warehouse in China. We have Psion scanners (7525, 7535). Furthermore, we use Windows 2000 with SAPwebconsole, SAPGUI (Patch 21) and IIS engine. Service Pack SP1 has been installed on web server to optimize buffer in IIS and ISAPI application.
The browser on terminals is Naurtech. The wireless data signal in warehouse is good.
Our problems occur when user login SAP using scanners --> message in terminal screen is "Connection to R/3 broken". Many user are not able to login in SAP via SAPwebconsole. We can only restart web server but still many users are not able to login via terminals and several users can work for 5-10 minutes. Approx. 60 users are working in DC with scanners.
What could be problem? Our load test failed due to these conection issues.
Has anyone experience with these issues (in warehouses with similar number of scanners)? Could web server be part of the problem?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
What can I say?   I have the exact same problem and I am trying to fix it.. I use the Naurtech browser,  with IIS on Windows 2000 server.   The users are using it and suddenly they get this message Connection to R/3 broken.  Just wanted to check with you if you were able to fix this issue.   Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Problems with 802.1x,ACS and Windows Server 2000

    Hi,
    My components: ACS 3.3 running on a Server with Windows 2000 Server SP4 , 2950 Catalyst (AAA-Client) ,
Laptop with Windows XP SP2 (802.1x Client)
I have everything configured according to Cisco documentation, but I am getting one error in the ACS's log.( Failed Attempts active.csv)
Authen-Failure-Code : EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed during SSL handshake
I have a valide certificate on my Radius(ACS) server and about machine authentication I have a valide certificate on my laptop. (I have installed this certificate before i started to login at the 802.1x port of the switch)
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?
Here is the Config of the Catalyst 2950 if that will help:
    version 12.1

    service timestamps log uptime
    no service password-encryption

    end

Yes we get to solve this problem. Because it is a only a test senario, we installed everything new, win2000 server SP4,the certificate service and the winXP on the client.
The config of the switch is ok, we set the reauth-period and quiet-period to default.
Then we test the whole configuration with the IAS-Radius (MS). After this we install the ACS, following this document:(Certificates were already installed)
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2086/products_configuration_example09186a00801df0ea.shtml
Attention, we used the AEGIS Client not the XP Client!

  • Problem with focus border and ListCellRenderer in custom listbox

I have a bug in some code that I adapted from another posting on this board -- basically what I've done is I have a class that implements a custom "key/value" mapping listbox in which each list item/cell is actually a JPanel consisting of 3 JLabels: the first label is the "key", the second is a fixed "==>" mapping string, and the 3rd is the value to which "key" is mapped.
The code works fine as long as the list cell doesn't have the focus. When it does, it draws a border rectangle to indicate focus, but if the listbox needs to scroll horizontally to display all the text, part of the text gets cut off (i.e. "sometex..." where "sometext" should be displayed).
The ListCellRenderer creates a Gridlayout to lay out the 3 labels in the cell's JPanel.
What can I do to remedy this situation? I'm not sure what I'd need to do in terms of setting the size of the panel so that all the text gets displayed OK within the listbox. Or if there's something else I can do to fix this. The code and a main() to run the code are provided below. To reproduce the problem, click the Add Left and Add Right buttons to add a "mapping" -- when it doesn't have focus, everything displays fine, but when you give it focus, note the text on the right label gets cut off.

  • Problem with HP 3600n Color Laserjet Printer and new HP Notebook Running 64 bit Win7

I have a new HP notebook (dv7t-6100) with Core-i7 Processor, running 64 bit Windows 7 with all of the latest updates.
I also have a 27" iMac with Core-i7 Processor running 64 bit Windows 7 underneath Parallels 7. Parallels is a program that creates a virtual machine underneath Mac OSX.
Both versions of 64 bit Windows 7 work perfectly . . . EXCEPT, neither will print from my HP 3600n Color Laserjet. The iMac will print to the 3600n in OSX mode, and an earlier version of 32 bit Windows 7 under Parallels printed perfectly with this 3600n printer.
These facts prove that the printer is OK, the connection is OK. However, the 64 bit Windows 7 systems do not print.
In both of the 64 bit Windows 7 installs I allowed Windows to find and download the HP driver for this printer. Install of the driver was apparently successful. Still no printing.
One strange fact: Sometimes when I turn the computer off, the 3600n printer will print the items that had been in the queue before powering down. That is the only time it has printed anything . . . except under OSX on the iMac.
Does anyone know if there is a basic problem with 64 bit Windows 7 and this printer ?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I just had the same problem with my MacBook Pro using 10.5.5 After trying a number of things, the following worked. (not sure what specifically ... just did this combination)
    1. Had the Apple store Genius Bar folks install the latest HP drivers.
    2. Restart computer
    3. Restart the HP Color LaserJet 3600
    4. Connected the HP printer and MacBook Pro directly into a switch, so the wireless was not an issue (both machines had IP addresses set and computer's was set to DHCP with manual IP).
    5. Instead of using the System Preference printing and fax tool, I started Text Edit, typed something and said "print".
Print window came up and said "no printer selected"
    6. I clicked on the drop down so it would look for printers.
    7. It found the HP Color LaserJet 3600.
    8. I clicked on the name of the printer and the computer went out and found the driver
    9. I clicked on "Add" and it added the printer.
    10. I tried a couple of test prints in different programs.
    11. I disconnected the hard wired ethernet cables and set the computer to be on the wireless.
    12. I printed a few more test prints in various programs.
I had previously tried selecting the printer and drivers through the System Preferences to no avail, but doing it this way worked.
    Blessings

  • Problem with OEM backing up on windows system.

    Hi to all,
I have a problem with backing up with a specific user.
I am currently running various "test" db's and am planning to back them up.
    The Setup:
Host OS is windows 2003 server s2
    Grid control 10.2.0.1
    Database 10.2.0.2
Target Db is running on a windows 2003 server
    The Situation:
From grid control I locate the db in question and go to the maintenance page and the backup settings. First of all I want to test the backup using the tab. Before this of course I enter the Host OS credentials into the system, let’s say "jamie", and add the appropriate password. By this point I have made sure that the user "jamie" is in the local security policy setting "log on as batch job" and that is in the group ora_dba (This is on both the machine I am backing up from and the target db machine.). For security reasons I have limited the share folder location to the user "jamie", making sure that sharing and security has the appropriate privileges to access the share.
I run a test backup using the tab within backup settings and await the results. The results come back unsuccessful. Reading through the log I see that the path to backup share is denied.
So to further the test I change the privileges within the share to "everyone" and that is for both sharing and security, just to see whether or not it’s the path itself rather than restrictions to the user. It is then a success. I checked to see who actually owned the file that was used within the test. It belonged to the local system on the target db, not to the user that I had specified within "Host OS Credentials".
Can anyone explain to me why and what is the reason behind putting in Host OS Credentials when the agent that is committing the back up is using the local domain system user account. I am aware that the Agent is part of a service within windows and belongs to the local domain. Ergo, why have host credentials.
And can anyone help me out with getting round this predicament if I still want security within the systems. I can’t just leave access to the share under "everyone", that'd be a really big hole in the system?!
Any help at all will be gratefully received.
If you’ve got any questions to help me solve the problem, please fire away.
