Problem with SUN C++ 6.2 installation

Hi,
I am trying to install SUN C++ 5.3 on a Solaris machine running Solaris 8 and currently having SUN C++ 5.0. It appears to me that SUN C++ 5.3 is only available as part of the Forte Developer 6 update 2 package.
So, I downloaded that package and installed it. However, I don't seem to have acquired the C++ class libraries pertaining to SUN C++ 5.3. I know this because specific .h files, that need to be in the include directory, are not present in the installation directory. The Forte section, however, seems to have installed.
Is the SUN C++ 5.3 installation available without the overhead of Forte? Please send me the link to that, if one exists.
Thanks,
Sachin.

Sorry for the longdrawn story of my woes! ;)
My specific question is :-
"Is the SUN C++ 5.3 installation available without the overhead of Forte, the IDE? Please send me the link to that, if one exists."
Thanks,
Sachin.

    This is likely to depend on the version of the OC you have. The released one isn't supposed to work with Outlook 2003. Please contact Tech Support for the latest version and help.

    Hi,
    Have a look at:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9320116
    Directions on the installation/configuration and requirements of the outlook connector (for 2005Q4 since you haven't told us what version of the comm suite you are using) are available at docs.sun.com e.g.
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/prod/2783#hic
    Outlook connector requires that you have UWC (a.k.a communication express) installed and configured, which has it's own requirements. UWC provides the single web-interface to mail & calendar & address-book. Outlook uses the address-book functionality via UWC, IMAP and SMTP for messaging/email, plus WCAP for calendar.

    Shane.

    Everything went normal during installation, but i can see the services is not present in services.msc. Also its throwing some exception for dbca, netca
    Now i tried to deinstall it and again go for 11g. But even the same story here..

    There are MeaLink notes on how to eradicate an Oracle install from Windows, but it boils down to this:
    Stop all Oracle services
    In the registery:
    - Delete all oracle services from the register (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
    - Delete the entire Oralce folder from HKLM\Software
    reboot
    Delete the ORACLE_HOME directory and any other Oracle related directories/files. Offhand, it seems like there is an Oracle directory under Program Files.
    reboot

  • "problem with shortcut/fatal error during installation" on other user accts

    I-tunes installed and works with no problem in original user, but when another user account attempts to open Itunes, program attempts to install/configure again, then results in a "problem with shortcut / fatal error during installation" message. Setting the other users to administrators doesn't help, nor does un-installing/re-installing, etc. I am at least the 4th person with this problem (see Burthomp earlier today,Jan. 17 and Richard 1018 on Dec. 29). This problem started with Itunes 7.5, and is still a problem on Itunes 7.6. I have a standard Dell setup, Model E510. There must be a lot of people with this problem. Apple, are you working on this? Anyone else have a suggestion?

    I ran into the same problem, but I think I have the solution. First, the problem isn't with iTunes, its an access problem with Windows XP. I tried to run the iTunes program from the Program Files, and I received an "Access Denied" error.
    If you try to open the Program Files in My Computer\Local Disk(C:) and receive an "Access Denied" Error, that is why you are receiving a "shortcut problem/Fatal Error during installation".
    Here is how I corrected it:
    1) Shut down the computer and restart it in "safe mode". I had to look up how to do this, but I pressed F8 when it was restarting and I highlighted the "safe mode" and started the machine. The icons will be large, but ignore it.
    2) Open a user that has administrative access -- I used the one user that has access to itunes.
    3) Go to My Computer\Local Disk (C:) and right click on the "Program Files" folder. Select "properties" at the bottom.
    4) Go to the Security Tab
    5) At the top you should see one or two users that have access to the Programs File. One will be the user that itunes works on. Click Add, then click Advanced, then click Find Now.
    6) At the bottom should appear a list of users. Select a user on which itunes doesn't work. Click Ok, then click OK again.
    7) Give that user full access to the Program File by putting a check mark in the Full Access box.
    8) Repeat for the remaining users.
    9) Restart computer in normal mode.
    10) Go into a user that had problems and click the itunes icon, and it should run.
    It worked for me, I hope it works for you.

    You haven;t specified the exceptions you r getting ........while starting your default server.
    if u r getting exception about InetClass then connect your system with LAN/Internet then your problem will be solved becoz i m using same location address as you specified, space doesn't matter at all - i think so, it is running fine........

  • Problems with sun studio 12 in suse linux 11

    Hi.
    I installed Sun Studio 12 suse linux with no problems. However, the debugging modules (DBX) are not working any more. When I started Sun Studio, it gave a message about modules that could not be loaded in tha moment. I did not pay attention. But I noticed that all debugging options were disabled.
    Using the module manager, I saw the DBX module was not checked, and I could not change it. I was marked with a red X. So I thought to reinstall the application. However, the uninstall utility doesn't work either.
    According with the documentation, running ./uninstaller does it, but I get the following error message instead
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: uninstall_Sun_Studio_12/class
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: uninstall_Sun_Studio_12.class
    at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200)

    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:251)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:319)
    I tried to uninstall manually, and then execute installer, by using first the software manager in linux and deleting the producregistry file manually. It worked because I executed the installer. However, in Sun Studio IDE, debugging options are still not available despite I "reinstalled" the application. I checked the log files and they say the file uninstall_Sun_Studio_12.class could not be written.
    So my questions are:
    1. Is there any other way to repair Sun Studio? What could be the possible for this module to stop working?
    2. Does anyone have an idea of why the installer cannot write the uninstaller class?
    I found that perhaps problems regarding Java / Netbeans versions could be the problem, but the ones I have installed are those packages that were installed along with Sun Studio, and both are valid.
    Thank you very much.

    Perhaps you can simply delete the Sun Studio 12 installation tree, because it will not work on SUSE Linux 11.
    This OS is not supported, so any problems you see with SS12 on SUSE 11 will not be fixed.
    But we have a newer version, that should work better.
    You can try to download and install Sun Studio Express 2008/11 (extract pre-installed image from tar.bz2 file).
    Here is a pointer to the web page:
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/express
    All you need is to provide a email address, and press "Download Now" button.
    You will see a page, that gives you 2 options to download Sun Studio Express 2008/11.
    Use "Option 2": Download Tarfile Installer
    Thanks,

  • Problems with track pad and osx installation disc on macbok.

    Okay so I am having two separate problems with my macbook.
    First, the track pad, or the button beneath it, is pretty much completely out of commission. When I try and use it, the computer acts as if I am holding down the button all the time. Example, when I drag it across the desktop, the "click-and-drag" square starts appearing next to the cursor or when move the cursor on an icon, it tries to click and drag that. The only way that I can fix it thus far is to hook up my wireless mouse. Hoping someone else has a better solution so that I can continue to use the notebook on the go without having to bring the mouse. Note: the button does not appear to be depressed in anyway.
    Second problem is happening when I attempt to reboot the computer with the OS X Leopard disk in for a re-installation. When the gray start-up screen appears, before the gray apple comes on the middle of the screen, a folder icon with a question mark on it appears for a split second and then turns into the normal apple icon after which my OSX disk is spit out of the drive and the computer boots straight to the desktop. I have attempted holding down the control button, the option button, and starting the process while the computer is still turned on and then just restarting it, the disc is ejected upon restart every time. I have reinstalled the OS with this disk once before and it has worked fine and other disks seem to be working fine in the drive, so I am at a lost here.
    I know that was a lot of info but if anyone out there can help me out with either one of these problems it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    exactly the same issu with the track pad here.
    I v tried to use it without the battery but the problem persist.
    If I use an USB mouse i can move it arnd but wen I click or double click nothing happen...so is useless.Same problem with the Blur Tooth wireless mouse.
    The issue appear several months ago...after a couple of weeks went away, and now is back again. I try the routine manteinance but nothing solved the issue.
    Any suggestion? I have some urgent work to do ...I will try tomorrow to bring it in an apple store but I can't leave it with them ..
    Thanx in advance

    The result was: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException
    I know it is a small code example but if I'm not able to solve this problem I can't go on with JMS.
    I would be glad by any help.

    Hello
    In my code it looks like that:
    1: System.setProperty("com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory", "iiop://localhost:3700");
    2: Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    3: TopicConnectionFactory factory = (TopicConnectionFactory)ctx.lookup("jms/DailyDestinationFactory");
    4: TopicConnection connection = factory.createTopicConnection();
    5: TopicSession session = connection.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    6: Topic topic = (Topic)ctx.lookup("jms/DailyBean");
    7: TopicPublisher pub = session.createPublisher(topic);

    The URL is correct and it works for us no problem. I don't believe anyone else has reported this problem so I guess it must be working for everyone else as well.
    Can you detail exactly what error you get, and what browser type/version you are using.
    Can you also see if you can access this URL: https://srsnetconnect3.sun.com

  • Has anyone experienced a problem with FB posting since the installation of iOS 6?

    Since the installation of iOS 6, I noticed that when I post a photo on FaceBook it does not show that post using my iPad or iPhone. I posted using my iMac and within seconds it showed up on two devices mentioned above. Please help.

    Hello,
    I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch/Ipad/Iphone/Ipod Classic, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
    Do the IOS update (the one that is the latest)
    Reset All Settings: SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET>RESET ALL SETTINGS
    Use it until it dies (automatically shuts off)
    Plug into Charge
    Leave it 1.5 hours or longer after it reaches 100% --> Undisturbed (preferably overnight)
    Give it a few days to Calibrate
    This has helped me on my Ipod Touch 4th generation, running IOS 6.0.1
    Hope that helps!
    If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
    Cheers!

    I am trying to call a extremely simple EJB from a remote computer. But everytime I run the client I get a Class castException. First question is what HBA and driver combination are you using?
    Next do you have MPxIO enabled or disabled?
    Are you using SAN switches? If so whose, what F/W level and what configuration, (ie. single switch, cascade of multiple switches, etc.)
    What are the distances from nodes to storage (include any fabric switches and ISL's if multiple switches) and what media are you using as a transport, (copper, fibre {single mode, multi-mode})?
    What is the configuration of your storage ports, (fabric point to point, loop, etc.)? If loop what are the ALPA's for each connection?
    The more you leave out of your question the harder it is to offer suggestions.

  • Problem with 10.3.181.34 Installer

    I recently refreshed my Flash install and ran into a strange problem.  When I executed the installer named install_flashplayer10ax_gtbd_aih.exe, it deleted itself and never successfully installed.  After looking at Procmon, I noticed that it made copies of itself and added _1 to the filename until it hit the limit of the filename length and stopped.  Each iteration would be a new process.  I compared my system to one that didn't have this problem and I noticed my TEMP and TMP variables were pointing to %systemroot%\temp instead of %userprofile%\temp.  After restoring the correct temp variables, the installed completed successfully.  I hope this helps somebody who finds this through the Google.

    I'm going to memorize that link.  I usually never have to time to Google this site until I find a REAL installer for their products instead of links to whatever conten
    t caching delivery mechanism they are using this month.  I can't tell you how many people I run across with McAfee Security Scanner or a Google toolbar they never use.  It will be a good day when Flash isn't the de facto standard for rich media on the internet.

    I installed 10.5 immediately when released, and had several problems with networking and printers (eg it removed all of them when re-installing), etc that were mostly fixed with 10.5.1
    I see there are 10.5.1 installer DVD in stores, and have a few more macs to install on at home that I had been waiting on due to my initial problems.
    Anyway, anyone having problems with the 10.5.1 DVDs or are things going well?
    thanks

    No problems here. I installed from a 10.5.1 Family pack onto two Macs. An Intel based Core Duo 2 iMac and a dual 2 Ghz PowerPC G5. Installed and runs without problem on both.
    It's unlikely that Apple will produce a 10.5.2 retail disk. Historically, they have never produced a new retail package for every point update. Usually only one or two others above the initial release.
