I have a problem with xml publisher when i used a symbol euro ().
I have a ? in my output.

The euro sign is not in the latin-1 character set range, but seems latin-1 font is used for your PDF. I think that's the reason why you get '?' letters instead. Once you set up the font correctly in XML Publisher, it will be ok. Please refer the user's guide for details.

Problem with the EURO character

I can't see the Euro character and I don't understand why. I use the symbol \u20AC and it doesn't work. I have use some fonts which allow the symbol but I only get a white space or nothing.
I haven't tried to print it but I'll try. This problem happens trying to show in JLabels or JTextFields.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

I've seen this situation before with several characters that don't display in certain fonts even though font.canDisplay(char) evaluates true.
For example, Courier New (among many others) and \u20ac . (I don't know why this is?)
Anyway, use the Ariel Unicode MS font and it will display.

Problem with symbols while exporting a gif in flash cs4

I am using flash cs4 to export a simple animated gif for a button on my website. However, when I export the gif the movie symbols will not play, what am I doing wrong here?

Well, for some reason, I've managed to be okay with the idea that all software relying on links is prone to crushing at any given moment during execution of a project, Yes this includes After effects, Illustrator, Indesign_name it. However, one thing I cannot understand or even come to terms with the idea that Flash CS4 cannot export a project of 162mb. My library is organised, My scenes are in perfect order, I do not even use 3rd party componets in my projects..... but for some reason, I cannot export let alone publish an application file from FLASH CS4.
My first thought was maybe some thing was wrong with the "flash.ocx" extension, so I took a walk and visited the Adobe site to get an update, but still after re-installing it nothing seems to put a smile on my face_( I've spent sleepless nights on this animation and all I need is to just export/ publish it, however flash exports it halfway and out of a blue the export dialog and the incomplete file vanish) Some times I even wonder wether there is a vortex on my desktop.
Another problem in this category am finding is with flash player in my browsers, if it runs in exlporer, then it won't run in firefox, and when I check in the control panel after installing on both browsers, I am so suprised to find 4plugins of flash player, which is not the case with my friends laptops which use 1plugin and an activeX control for the web browsers.
Any help is very welcome, Am using Dell studio-xps Laptop running a 64bit Windows Vista OS, 4bg Ram, 1 Terabyte HDD and yes Intel Graphics media card with dedicated memory of 1gb. (Of what use are they if I cannot export a small file of 162mb, am even ashamed to mention it, heeeeeelp )

Problem with symbol

Hey, since I updated my iPhone 3G to 2.1 I cant write the apple symbol anymore.
Before I updated it, I just typed "appuru" in the japanese keyboard and the apple symbol appeared. Now it doesnt work anymore, how can I get the symbol back?

This <b>#</b> is coming from my Source IDOCs payload. There is a particular field for which the # is being sent as a part of the payload.
Now, when I see the Outgoing Payload in we02 in r3, I see no problem,and the <b>#</b> symbol is intact.
In XI, in the incoming payload, this # is being replaced by a rectangular box ( sorry, this character is not available on the standard key board ) as a reult of which my mapping throws up a parsing exception ( note : I am using JAVA mapping )
Like I mentioned earlier, when I test the same IDOC from We19 with the # symbol, I see no issue at all. The # is passed as such to XI.

Problems with symbol characters in WIKI using plaintext authentication

Hi!
I have a Lion Server with Wiki service enabled, and using plaintext to authenticate against third provider LDAP server (Oracle/SUN ldap server).
The authentication fails if the password has a at least & character inside (I do not test another symbols).
If the password has just letters and number it does not fails.
Any Idea how to fix it?
It is a new "feature" in the Wiki service???

The only thing we can do now is to wait for an update! Which is hopefully make the Playbook worth something!

Problem with symbols..

when I past the "House-1 used" and delete the "House-1" that was
there instead (not that I wanted it there in the first place...)
the "House-1" symbol comes back.
I've tryed to change the time lines around, because it
doesn't happen on the "Action-1" layer but only the layers that the
"House-1" symbol is on.
~My last resort is to make another layer and put the new
tween on that layer and continue on that layer.

3G, 3.5G or H only mean that you're connected to high speed network 3G. I've never seen Nokia S40 series showing up H. So, maybe that's why it was updated and fixed to 3G now.
Check out that you have HS packet access enabled. Assuming that the menu options are same in all the asha series, goto 'Menu> Settings> Connectivity > Packet Data' and enable HS packet access. That will make sure that the phone is connecting to the highest (fastest) network possible.
Plus, here I'm assuming that your phone is already receiving 3G network and not 2G. In case it was 2G, it'd have shown up E and not G as almost every operator has upgraded to E (edge network).
Hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong somewhere.

ASCII import problem with symbol 0xFF

When I'm importing ASCII file which contain the special symbols like 0xFF it's recognized as fields separator. The impcat is incorrect structure. I need this symbol because it is cyrillic character which appears in contact names very often. How may I import contacts with correct names.

This appears to be a bug in the way the export program runs on 9.2. It seems to be a problem only in the API call that you showed us: wwv_flow_api.create_report_columns and its p_pk_col_source=> value. This can get corrupted when you have a tabular form column that uses a Primary Key Source Type of Custom PL/SQL Function or Existing Sequence, which is a choice you make in the builder wizards or later on the report column edit page in the Tabular Form Element region.
If you can find all of these situations (using the builder) by looking at the report columns for reports related to the new 1.6 features that you mentioned, then change them all to use an existing trigger instead (create a dummy trigger T_DUMMY first), you might be able to get an uncorrupted export file. The next step, which is an unofficial workaround, is to find those API calls in the export file, looking for p_pk_col_source_type=> 'T',
p_pk_col_source=> 'T_DUMMY',Then change the 'T' to 'S' and the trigger name to the correct sequence for the column involved and that should do it. If you need to enter a PL/SQL function, change 'T' to 'F' and enter the PL/SQL code in place of the trigger name.
We're still investigating this problem, so please let us know if this helps you out in the short term.

Repeated problem with symbolic link ./tmp- private/tmp

I'm running 10.4.11 on an iMac G5. In the last few days, I have a series of weird problems -- inability to sync my iPod Touch, error message from the SuperDuper backup program, Cocktail rejecting my system password -- that seem to be related to permissions and temp files. Each time I encounter one of these problems, I repair permissions, and each time it reports the same thing:
Symbolic link ./tmp->private/tmp repaired
This seems to solve the problem temporarily, but then it happens again.
I've tried repairing the disk (no problems found). Any other suggestions, short of an archive and re-install?

Thanks. I downloaded Applejack and ran it on AUTO as you suggested. As far as I can tell the only problem it found was the same -- or a related -- issue with the private/tmp folder, but it's not clear to me whether it has been solved in a more permanent way. Can you learn anything useful from the log below?
If it was a hardware problem, what time of problem would it be?

Problem with encoding euro sign in simple select

select '€' from dual;
should fulfill the requirements mentioned in
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/relnotes_v121.html#sec4
But the Euro sign is displayed as a result only when connected to a DB with UTF8 encoding. When connected to a SBCS DB with encoding WE8MSWIN1252, ¬ is displayed instead. chr('€') displays 172, which is equal to the last byte of the UTF8 representation of the Euro sign \u20ac = e2 82 ac.
The Euro sign is included in WE8MSWIN1252 with code 128, so I would expect the result of "select '€' from dual " to display correctly in both cases.
I have just downloaded the current version Oracle SQL Developer 1.2.1, java version is 1.6.0_02-b06.

This is what I am trying to establish. This forum is about Oracle SQL Developer, so the example was for SQL Developer. Yes, you do not need the feedback on command.
My point is that for a number of my colleagues, all using the database encoding WE8MSWIN1252, we do not see the upside down question mark. In SQL Developer, we see the correct Euro symbol.
I will continue to investigate this issue.
I have tested this using NLS Settings for German, France, Ireland, United Kingdom and America, for my database with encoding WE8MSWIN1252. These all display the correct euro symbol and not an upside down question mark, whether I use the data tab in the table definition grid, or by running F9(run statement) or F5 (run script) in the SQL Worksheet in SQL Developer.
You do not need to send me any configuration files. Just confirm that you are on the latest release , 1.2.1.32.13 and have not replaced any files once you installed this release. I will also work with our internationalization team to track down the issue. Currently the only difference is the Java version you are using.

Problems with Symbols

I'm using symbols for a repeating image, and when I went in to adjust it found that it's copied itself four times. Every time I copy it and paste it behind something it creates a new symbol. Why and how do I stop that?
Also, is it possible to replace a symbol with another one, like in Flash?

Slect the symbol and from the control panel select to replace it and select from the symbols panel the symbol you now wish to have.

I have problems with symbols and my phone ringing

I have had my nokia 5800 express music since may 2009 and have had a few minor problems but they usually clear thereselves up but now when i recieve a text it no longer rings or shows up on my phone i dont even get the message symbol at the the top of my screen all i get is my notification light flashing and have to go into texts to see what it is. I have read a whole lot of the problems and no one seems to be having this problem i phoned up nokia care and they were busy and i dont know how to fix it and it is really annoying me.

Try a reset.
Factory settings reset. In standby, dial *#7780# and the phone's lock code (the Nokia's default lock code is 12345). This reset restores phone's original settings.

For 5800 XM hard reset need different keys. The green key, the red key and the camera button. The process is the same.Warning!Hard reset deletes all your phone's data!

When I open a document in Flash CS5.5 that was created in CS5, for some reason the buttons appear invisible when the document is published.
Buttons are also appearing invisible when they have been brought in from the library of another CS5.5 file.

This response is a little late as I just read about your problem. I have a 2012 Dodge Charger and a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country and both worked flawlessly with the iPhone 5s my wife and I had. However, we just upgraded to the iPhone 6 and Uconnect will receive calls but you cannot answer them. You can callout successfully, however. the annoyance being the inability to answer incoming calls in the HandsFree mode.

I think I'm facing the same issue as you. I looked at the note 323736 but my system seems to be up to date (at least for this issue). I have SAP_BASIS release 700.
Did you upgrade your system ? Did you do something else ?
