Problems With Syncing and Audio Play with Itunes

I've been having a problem with Itunes and my iPhone for the past few days. First of all, iTunes will not play any songs. When I press the play button, the speaker changes to the play picture, and the song loads at the top, but the timer stays stuck on zero. Also, when I attempt to sync my iPhone it will not add new songs downloaded onto my phone. I have updated and re-installed iTunes and it has not helped. Also, tonight I even updated my phone settings (which I interestingly enough was able to do despite the fact that I cant get a song to transfer to my iPhone, yet somehow the new program settings were able to make the jump.)
I am using Windows Vista at the moment. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried backing up you iPhone and copying over everything to iTunes etc.Apps,Videos...Then Restoring to factory setting?
If that doesn't work try Manually Managing you Music and Videos.

Problems with syncing and transferring files

Hi there. Im having problems with syncing my Ipod Touch and uploading files. Ive managed to transfer multiplr MP3 fils but i noticed that when i disconnectktwith my PC. All the sings are gone. What could have haplened?

Apologies for the misspellings.
Basically i have tried uploading my MP3 files (one by one) in my device. then i tried uploading films. then when i disconnected my device all my songs on the device is gone. i do not know what happened exactly.
it would seem the current iTunes version is "unstable". having uploaded 50 songs, doing them one by one only to find out out it got wiped out in the device for some reason.
any explanation for this?

Ok, here we go. my problems started when I bought a mac (I used to have a pc) I transfered all my music and apps to my new mac then... when I tried to sync with my Iphone 4s all my contacts were erased! D: but i think that was because the new computer didnt have a thing, well... thats not the deal, the thing is im not sure if the iphone is recognizing this new computer as the one hehe, the main, so it can save the backup and all that stuff. I have already autorized this mac, and I have checked the option to sync information, music, videos, and photos. After all of that I sync the music and see what happened! it happened to all of the abecedary, I have already turn the device off, sync again and nothing. someone can help me please?

What is the problem?

It's hard to say: what's your request timeout set to?
700-odd records is not much of a fetch for a decent DB, and I would not expect that to case the problem. But then you're using Access which doesn't fit the description of "decent DB" (or "fit for purpose" or "intended for purpose"), so I guess all bets are off one that one. If this query is slow when ONE request is asking for it, what is going to happen when it goes live and multiple requests are asking for it, along with all the other queries your site will want to run? Access is not designed for this. It will really struggle, and cause your site to run like a dog. One that died serveral weeks ago.
What else is on the template? I presume you're doing something with the query once you fetch it, so could it be that code that's running slowly? Have you taken any steps to isolate which part of the code is taking so long?
How does the query perform if you take the subquery out of the select line? Is there any other way of getting that data? What subquery will be running once for every row of the result set... not very nice.

Itunes problems with syncing and photos

Why is syncing in itunes screwed up all the time...it doesn't seem dependable. I downloaded some tv shows and tried to sync it and it doesn't even let you drag it to your ipod. The only way I could manage to get the videos on there is by manually managing my music. It seems like managing manually is the only dependable way.
Second, Is there a way to get photos downloaded directly from your ipod on itunes? I noticed there is a photos tab under devices/ipod and it seems to sync it, but you can't view it on your hard drive. The only way I got my photos on my hard drive was by using my computer/ipod (which doesn't even let you drag your music to the device, what is up with that? can you only use itunes to put music on your ipod?).

Deselect Sync Photos under the Photos tab followed by selecting Apply and a sync which should remove all photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer.
Re-select Sync Photos under the Photos tab and the folder of photos on your computer you want transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync.
If no change, Mac or Windows PC?
If a Mac, do you use iPhoto and are you transferring photos from iPhoto or do you manually manage photo storage on your Mac?
If a Windows PC, do you manually manage photo storage on your PC?

Can anyone help?
My iPad gets only so far through the sync process before I get a window telling me my iPad has disconnected or that the disc cannot be found. The only way I can get it to sync is to reset it and sync from scratch, which means re-downloading all my apps.
Also, before anyone says it, I've tried just backing up the iPad but it won't do that either. I keep getting told the iPad disconnected before it's finished and ends up not copying anything
Hope someone out there has a suggestion

I checked the USB and it all looks alright. I tried syncing again and got told:
"An error occured while reading from this device"
which is the normal one i get.

Make sure there's nothing blocking a contact in the charging port of the phone.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.

Syncing and Charging Problem with 1st gen iPod nano

I purchased a 1st generation iPod nano via eBay about 3 months ago and have developed an interesting syncing and charging problem. When I plug the nano to my iMac, frequently neither the computer nor iTunes will recognize it. I have done "the five R's" with occasional success. I've tried jiggling the cable in the computer port and sometimes it works in getting iTunes to recognize the nano, sometimes it doesn't. Even when I am able to get iTunes to recognize the nano, I have frequently found that the nano hasn't charged up at all. In fact, a couple of times I found it almost totally drained of power after having been connected to my computer. Yes, I have the most recent version of iTunes installed on my iMac and my iMac, by the way, is relatively new - having been purchased in May of this year. What is interesting is that I've taken my nano to work and it has absolutely no problem charging up on my Dell (yuk!). For the record, I do not have iTunes installed on my work computer and I am not allowed to add any apps to my work computer without the consent of my supervisor. The chances of getting iTunes installed on my Dell at work are pretty much nil. Any suggestions on how I can fix the problem?

I bought a new USB dock connector and hoped, with fingers and toes crossed, that something positive would happen. Sure enough, I was able to sync and recharge my old iPod nano. I guess the original USB dock cable is on its last legs. Not totally broken, but no longer reliable. I consider my problem solved! So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct? Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order? Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver. If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details). When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.

I have a similar problem. I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS. After completing the process the phone never restarted. The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon. I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone. The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads. iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does. I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery. This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help. A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged. She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on. I don't think it is a battery issue. The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone. Repairing it was out of the question. At this point the phone is completely useless. Thanks in advance for the help.
