Problem With The iTunes Program

Whenever we try and open iTunes, it says "The folder 'iTunes Setup' contains an invalid character. Fatal error during installation". It won't let us uninstall/delete the program. We've gone through Add/Remove Programs in the control Pannel. Nothing will work. Whenever we try and download the latest version of iTunes, it pops up with the same message. Anyone know what to do?

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. My problem is I can not access any application to download music, videos, books, etc..
ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country. Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.

Is there a problem with the Itunes Windows Installer Programme?

The reason I ask is because I had a perfectly working Itunes programme on my external hard drive, from which I then deleted all the double ups of songs I had and then could not gain auto. updates of the dsongs I wished to add to itunes.
It said to reinstall Itunes, which I tried to do and since this time the installation stops when installing the registry components and the following message appears -
There is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. A programme required for this to install could not be run. Comntact your support personall or package provider.
Can anyone help please?

This message often relates to a problem with Apple software update.
Go to Add remove programs and find Apple Software update. Try repairing it.
Select Change>>repair.
That probably will not work
Then try uninstalling any instance you find of Apple Software update. That probably will not work either.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.

Remove any instance you find of Apple software update with the cleanup utility.
Download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer and save it on your desktop.

Premiere Pro CS4 - Problem with the monitor program.

Hi. I'm not able solving problems with the monitor using PremiereProCS4. When I drag a photo (also only one photo) in the timeline and play it in the monitor program, vision in the monitor program doesn't run:black monitor or a little part of the photo appear... sometimes distort colours. Asus P5QPRO, Intel 9550 and Sparkle Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 1024 DDR3; last gpu driver and directX are installed. Different configuration of stratch disks were tested. Where am I wrong?

thanks for your answer and your article. I tried with your NTSC 4:3 720x480 PAR 0.9 and, "magically", no more problem!!! I used the script pocedure in Photoshop CS4 to resize my images. Now, before starting my workflow and hoping not to overuse your patience, I would like to indicate you my equipment and my target: I use a Canon Eos 7D (generally for still images, 90% are vertical, and just some videos) and I use Premiere Pro CS4 to burn a dvd (normal, 4.7 Gb or double side, more than 8 Gb) with a 16.9 lcd tv (I'm Italian); my camera save as .jpg and .raw (but why use heavy .raw files if I've to redute to 720x480?!??).
So, according to your "everyone wants the highest quality that they can obtain when doing theri videos..." and "your video project may vary, so you will need to plug in the dimensions for YOUR video project in that case", I've a question: which is the best for me?
And then:
1 - Premiere Pro CS4 havn't a batch or a script procedure for still image like PS (only for videos)!?!
2 - Premiere does'nt allow you to import images like 4.181 Kb (a too large dimension file error appears)!
3 - In the timeline of Premiere, after you dragged images, you can select them and right click to perform "resize to frame size": it seems to run good without problem, but what appen to the photo? Which is it's pixel?
4 - In the general preferences of Premiere you can to optimize rendering for "memory" or not: which is the best for you?
5 - I attached file with a screen of something strange in Premiere: dragging an image (the first of the project) in the timeline, the timeline appears distort (you can see the part in the yellow square): then, when I render the project and play in the monitor program, it becames normal.

Any idea to fix the iTunes 12.0.1.26 connectivity problem with the iTunes Store?

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Although the application works fine such as playing music, downloading app updates and music. However, when I attempted to make the connection between iTunes Store and the current version of iTunes, the iTunes window began to froze, then the error message showed that there was a problem with the application that causes it to shut down. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Problems with the HelloWorld program

G530 - problems with the "easy program access" key

I have a 3000 G530 (model 4151) laptop, and so far I haven't really had any problems with it. Although recently, something happened with a little touch-sensitive button above my keyboard, in the upper right, next to the volume controls. I guess what it does is you can set it so that whenever you press it, it will just open up the program or document that you set it to. I'm not sure how this happened, but recently it started acting like I was repeatedly pressing it over and over. The setup window for the key opened about twice a second. I restarted my computer, and tried pressing the key. I set it to open a document I had (just to test it), and now it just opens up that document whenever I press it. Occassionally it will randomly open the document over and over, even when my hands were nowhere near it. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Did a little workaround... and all things went like a candy :)

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Problems with the iTunes 9 store...

I recently upgraded to iTunes 9, and everything is working fine except for the iTunes store. really, the only problem is that the backround for the store is black, and since the text is in black as well, it makes it impossible to view anything except pictures and what not. i've tried reinstalling it and that hasn't worked. any suggestions?

I have no idea about Safari. The latest version worked fine for me with iTunes 8.x.
Go to HD>Library>Receipts - remove the iTunesX.pkg to the trash.
Drag your iTunes app to the trash. B/U your iTunes Library and .xml files. B/U your iTS purchases.
Find the folder - Previous iTunes Libraries in the iTunes folder - in there is a copy of your previous libraries - select the one that is the date of your upgrade to iTunes 9. Make a copy and rename it - iTunes Library - replace the file named the same in the iTunes Folder. Any additions to iTunes under iTunes 9 will not be in the data base so you will have to add them back once iTunes is open again.
Repair permissions with Disk Utility - Install iTunes 8.x from the Disk Image you downloaded. - repair permissions again.

Does anyone else have this problem with the iTunes visualizer?

I rarely use the iTunes visualizer but, when I do, it gives me the option of either using the newer one or the classic one. I like to use the new one but the problem is that I can only go to "visualizer options" if I am using the classic one. In said options I could set it so that the song info (song title, artist, album title and artwork) stays in the bottom left corner for the entire song. The few times I use the visualizer, I do like to have it up for the whole song--I just think it looks cool, I don't know...
Anyway, since I can't get the options for the new visualizer, the song info always fades away after the first five seconds or so of the song.
Anyone else realize this?? And does it annoy anyone else lol?

Problem with the iTunes store on my ipad 2.

I have notice here in the last month that I can only download certain thing on my iPad 2. I have gone thru everything and even reset my iPad and the iTunes store is still showing that I can only download certain stuff and that go to books too. I have updated the software and everything and which my husband iphone app store can let him download everything including the free and/or the not free apps. Need to know what I should do cause i'm all out of options and i'm about to say the **** with it and go by me a tablet to use instead...

One likely cause is restrictions. Is your iPad restricted (Settings > General > Restrictions)?

So does anyone have any info on if apple know about all the problems with the iTunes update?

By problems I mean:
. The unability to sync music from your laptop/computer to your apple device
. The slowness
. Unable to log in
. Being told that the laptop/computer being used isn't recognised
. Clicking on music and it flicking through really quick without playing and then not playing after, but still being on apple device.
+ all the other problems i've seen mentioned on this page. It's pretty clear the new updates have glitches that urgently need fixing and a lot of people are encountering some or multiple of these problems.
I've not seen or heard any announcement whether they know or not or if they're doing something to fix this, because they need to. Urgently.

first of: you can edit previous posts in a time-frame of some minutes (haven't measured it ...).
After that they become non-editable.
I admit I have used microphones some years back with and without PCs (have switched to Macs 2.5 years ago).
But I always had the mics connected to a mixing desk, which provided Phantom Power.
Since I gave up my 'Singing Career' (wasn't good enough) I also abandoned the use of microphones.
To your questions:
It might be that PCs with specified Microphone-In ports are also providing power to them or the microphones themselves do not need any power.
And the 'compatible with...' refers to the usage on computers in general.
The iMic from Griffin works with OSX 10.5 (scroll down on the webpage to 'Product Compatibility' the left icon symbolizes OSX 10.5).
As said above, I am no longer up-to-date in usage of microphones, but when you want to use a microphone with the standard connector you have to get either a microphone preamp or a mixer.
If you use the mic only (really only) with your Mac Pro, you might wanna look for USB-connected mics from Samson or Audio Technica for example.
And don't get upset, I understand you fully and any kind of 'insult' is for the manufacturers and not for me
