Problem with the letter "V"
Yes, I have seen the movie and V always disappear. When I try to print the letter in a input textbox it also disappear. I use a swedish Adobe Designer, on a Windows XP. Does anyone else have this problem?

Sometimes when I view vector art on the screen the letter I shows up
extra wide and big, but the printed version works fine. Example below. This only happens some of the time to me, but not always with the same piece of artwork. I think this must be a common problem; does anyone know a solution?

JeffThe text is outlines. I don't have access to the original typeface. It only seems to happen when I export; on the illustrator screen everything looks fine but in the exported pdf it has this severe problem. I noticed it also affects lower case L's in the pdf of the university's wordmark standards guide (at least when viewed on my system), which contains various examples of the logo. http://www.uic.edu/depts/paff/identity/PDF/standards.pdf
I understand what you mean about alignment to whole pixels. But certainly many things are not aligned to the next whole pixel, but doesn't it usually it get anti-aliased rather than filled in 100% of the next pixel?

When i type the letter i in my sms messages their is no dot at the top of the i and when i type it into search for contacts the phone doesnt recognise it as a letter and wont seatch for it, when i send someone a txt containing the letter i it doesnt go through properly of the message is unreadable. Any ideas?

I have a problem with the CD player plays some species, others give me this letter no longer supported PowerPC
Educational software suffers from having been written many years ago, but the financial market is not such to give the publisher much incentive to update the software.
The problem for you is that Top Notch 2 with ActiveBook was written and released by Pearson back when Macs utilized the PowerPC CPU platform. In 2006, Apple migrated the Macs to Intel CPUs, but released their Operating Systems with an invisible translation program, Rosetta, so that the user could continue to use their existing library of PowerPC applications and take time to update them as needed.
The problem arises in that Apple no longer continues to update Rosetta for inclusion in Lion and now Mountain Lion, so that your CD-ROM cannot be executed on your Lion Mac.
Since Pearson looks unlikely to rewrite and release an Intel version of Top Notch 2, you must find a workaround that will play your CD-ROM and allow you to continue utilizing your ActiveBook.
You do not indicate which model of Mac you are using. If you upgraded it to Lion from Snow Leopard, you have these workarounds:
1. Revert to Snow Leopard
2. Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it. This will allow you to "dual-boot" into Snow Leopard when you need access to run Top Notch 2. You would then have to "dual-boot" back into Lion when you needed access to those features required by Lion.
If you purchased a new Mac that came with Lion, you only have one workaround available to run Top Notch 2:
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels

There is an easier way to run your Top Notch 2 in Parallels if cost is not a significant factor for you. You must purchase Snow Leopard Server from a third party souce, such as eBay, which when sold by Apple was $499 or more. I now see that it can be purchased on eBay for as little as $51. Parallels allows for easy installation of Snow Leopard Server into Parallels.
If cost is a factor, then use the link above the photo to follow my instructions on how to install Snow Leopard client ($19.99 from Apple) into Parallels and achieve the same result.
Lastly, you could purchase a used Mac that will allow Snow Leopard to be the boot OS X installed (wth the optional Rosetta installed). But this seems like an expensive alternative just to run one piece of software; and subject to hardware failure without notice or recourse. -
Is anyone using iPhoto having a problem with the slide show using shatter where it does not let you put a title over photo? It use to work but it no longer lets you place a title over the opening photo.
Is your signature still current?(iPhoto '08, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)) I can confirm this for iPhoto '11; Shatter will only show the text slide title between the slides. Ken Burns and Classic theme can still be set to overlay the caption and title directly over the slides.

Are there any other left eye dominant (or left handed) iPhone users that experience problems with the touch screen keyboard selecting the letter next to the one you'd intended..?

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. Since updating to Firefox 4.0.1 I have a problem with the website shortcuts I have on on desktop. I have a few of these shortcut to website I use a lot. When I click on the short I get the message "windows cannot find [then the web address] make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." I tried deleting the shortcut and setting it up again but still get the message.Try to redo the default browser and make another browser like IE the default browser and then let Firefox do it again.

Hi everyone.
I wonder if i am the only one experiencing a little problem with the new Pages?
My problem is that every other time i want to correct the font lets say trying to underline or make the font fatter using the hotkeys "Command+B" or "Command+U" or "Command+I", or even changing it manually in "formats" my font gets stuck, and i have to copy-paste text from another pages-file into my old one to get et back to normal.
Anyone else tried this?

I am trying to identify a problem with my HP Pavillion dv7 laptop
Several months ago it started getting hot and showing messages about problems with the internal fan and battery. It would say enter = shutdown and shut off. I suspected a bad battery so I checked it without it just plugging it in with the power cable. It seemed to work better so I assumed that was the problem.
I ordered a new battery and it worked for a while. The problem came back and is getting worse. I can run it without the battery for a while but it gets got and shows the same message.
I read on here that flashing and updating the bios worked for some but the latest update gives me an error IHISI not support BIOS then Insyde flash not supported.
any help would be great this PC has a lot of info on it and I dont think it is a lost cause

I have written a simple proxy server in the form of a servlet. I changed the proxy config of my browser to connect to this servlet hosted on the default context(http://localhost:8080) of the Tomcat 5.0.25 . Well , this servlet internally connects to the proxy of the corporate LAN . The logic that I have applied is as follows. The servlet gets the request from the client (ie the browser in this case) , extracts the headers and contents from the request, sets them to a new request that it forms and finally send this new request to the proxy. When the proxy responds, the servlet collects the response headers and contents adn writes them in its response. To sum up , this servlet transparently carries the requests and responses between the client(browser) and the corporate LAN proxy. Now the problem is this. Let's say , now I am accessing http://www.google.com.The browser sends a request to my servlet with the following headers as they are extracted by my servlet.

I write these headers back to the client. According to what I was thinking, the client ie the browser would open a new dialog box asking for username/password owing to the presence of the "Proxy-Authenticate " header. But it does not happen that way. Rather the browser stops responsding and displays a blank page. Does anyone know why it happens this way? Thanks for your reply. Well , I initially I thought of not pasting the code,as it was too long. But I could not help it,as I thought I must show in code what I exactly meant. That's why I followed a description of my problem with the code. You could probably have copied the code and pasted it in one of your favourite editors to take a look at it. Did you,by any chance, try to read it on the browser? And as regards reposting the same message, I can say that I did it as I felt the subject was not quite appropriate in the first posting and I was not sure as to how I could delete/alter the posting. Problem with the hierarchial fields in a Purchase order xml report
Hi,
I am having a problem with the hierarchy problem. We are populating attribute 15 of a PO header. some times it can be null. FYI, we are using 11.5.10 instance where oracle supports direct PO template rather than having a rdf file.
And now in the xml report, if attribute15 of po header is not null then it is fine.
But if attribute15 is null, then the template is picking from the next available attribute15 that is from the po lines. As the line level group of "LINES" is between the "PO_DATA" (header group), hence the template is checking for next available attribute15.
Can any one please suggest how to design the template where we can make the template to check only for that tag at the header level group rather than the line level group tag?

Is there a problem with the orders which are done with an international credit card? I am asking this because my brother and I have been trying to place an order to buy Macbook Pro with Retina Display for 2 days.
We placed 2 online orders with my international credit card. In each order I inputted the international address provided by the Bestbuy web site(10780 Kempwood Dr. - Houston, TX 77043) to the billing address. And I inputted my brother's address in the US to the shipping address. Each time, at first,orders were accepted but after 1 minute we received an email that indicated orders were cancelled. Customer service told me that the shipping address and billing address on my order are same and there might be an issue on the system that causes this problem and suggested me to place the order over the phone. I replaced the order over the PHONE(WITH SALES DEPARTMENT) but again I received two emails, one of them is "We received your email" and the other one is "Your order has been cancelled".You can find the reason of the cancellation in the email below;
We're sorry, but an item on your order placed on June 12, 2014 has been canceled because we were unable to verify your information.
I am really tired of that,it is like a joke.

Placing orders on BestBuy.com should be both exciting and easy, and I'm disheartened to read that you've run into these difficulties in trying to purchase your new Macbook Pro. Surely, this is not the experience that we strive to provide and I regret very much that you've been disappointed.

I have a problem with the synchronisation of my iPhone and iPad with Outlook 2007 on my 64-bit Windows 7 PC. For several years,
I have had no problems with the synchronisation by cord connection and iTunes between these programmes. However, a few months ago I decided to use Mobile Me. However, there were problems with duplication of calendars and then “rogue events” – which could not be deleted – even if deleted on Outlook and on the iPhone (or both at the same time) – they would just reappear after the next synchronisation. All other synchronisation areas (eg Contacts, Notes etc) work fine.
I have looked for help through the Apple Support Community and tried many things. I have repaired my Outlook. I have repaired my .pst file in Windows. I have re-installed the latest version of iTunes on my PC. I have re-installed the firmware on my iPhone. I have tried many permutations on my iPhone. I have closed down all Mobile Me functions on the iPhone. I have spent upwards of 24 hours trying to solve this problem.
What am I left with? Outlook works seamlessly on my PC. My iPhone calendar now has no events from my calendar, but does not synchronise through iTunes. Nor does it send events initiated on the iPhone to the Outlook. I am at the point of abandoning iPhones and iPads altogether. I need to have a properly synchronising calendar on my phone. Do you have any suggestions?In the control panel goto the "Lenovo - Power Manager" and click the battery tab, there is a maintenance button in there that will let you change the charging profile for your battery. (from memory, so exact wording may be off)
The lower the numbers you use there, the longer the battery *should* last. These batteries degrade faster at higher charge levels, however storing them at too low of levels is also not good for them... I've read that 40% is optimal, but just not realistic if you use your computer.
