Problem with Titles

I have iMovie installed on my iPhone 4. When I add a title for my clip I also get a 1/2 inch wide translucent vertical line on the left edge of my clip along with the title. I've watched an iMovie tutorial on YouTube and I see the same line; however, on the tutorial it fades out along with the title after a couple of seconds, but does not do so on my iPhone 4. Is there a way to get the line (and title) to fade out after I start playing the clip?

The title is shown for the duration of the highlighted clip. If you only want it to play for say the first 5 seconds, play the clip for 5 seconds then tap it to stop. If the current clip is not highlighted in yellow then tap it once so it is. Now drag you finger down through the clip where the red line is. This will split the clip into 2 parts, the first 5 second section and the remainder. Tap the first 5 second section to highlight it and add the title here. Now the title will only show for the first 5 seconds and fade out. He video will play back as normal and appear as one continuous clip.

  • Problems with titles.

When I place titles in my videos, and then review the video, the preview is very choppy where I placed the titles, then will return to normal once the title is done, then it will start being choppy again when the video contains another title.
Any one have suggestions for me to try?  Perhaps some weird setting that I don't know about?  Im using a 2011 MacBook Pro 2.4ghz i7, with 8 GB ram, so I don't think its a problem with my machine.  And Im really new to video editing, so any help will be greatly appreciated.  this is driving me crazy.
    Thanks for any help.

Are you rendering your timeline whenever you see red lines above your clips (working in Timeline mode)? When you see red lines along the top of the timeline, press Enter. When the sequences are rendered, the red lines will turn green and your playback should improve greatly.

  • Problems with titler window losing focus

I'm using PP2.0, running on windows XP x64. It's been running since it was last re-installed in December 2007 (after a problem with codecs that broke PP2), and I've made no changes to it or to any of the support processes it uses, nor any changes to the OS (apart from service packs). There have been NO driver changes, window layout changes, workspace changes, or any other changes (apart from entropy). The mouse I'm using is a [oxymoron]Kensington Expert Mouse Pro[/oxymoron], with their latest (i.e. 2007) drivers, and XMouse ver 1.37.0.0 (i.e. their latest x64 driver), but this happens regardless of the mouse or keyboard I use.
To set the scene... I use a "standard" title template for all my video work, with predefined text fields and colours and so on. There's nothing bizarre or extraordinary about these templates, they're actually super simplistic in terms of what most users here use their titlers for! The entire title is completely static - there are no scrolling or moving anythings, the title is overlaid on black video, there are just a dozen simple text boxes and one standard logo (bmp format), that's it. I use only Arial fonts, with no special settings or kerning or spacing or anything more complex than colour. I haven't touched or modified the original titler template since I set it up in December 2008. The problem I'm seeing happens to any titles, not just the known working template, so it's definitely a PP2 problem, not a titler problem.
The problem is that recently (in the past 3-4 months, over maybe 5 projects in that time) the titler window loses focus while I'm using it, and the PP2 main application becomes active.
When I bring the titler window up (using any method) and start editing, that window loses focus (window frame reverts to the background windowframe colour) and I can't type or do anything else in the titler window. The PP2 app window suddenly become the active window, and remains active until I shut down the titler.
My workaround is to click and hold in the titler window, on or around the text I want to edit. So by pressing and holding the left mouse button, I can insert text just fine in any existing text frame. And by selecting text with the left button and then holding it (like I'm starting a drag operation), I can _replace_ the selected text - but as soon as I release the mouse button, the focus leaves the titler and I can't do anything again.
I've reset the workspace, changed mouse and keyboards, but the problem isn't a hardware or driver issue. PP2 is the only application that behaves like this, and it's the only Adobe application that behaves like this - Photoshop (5.5 and CS8) and Audition (1.5 and 3.0) all work perfectly normally.
This behaviour occurs with titles I've used and saved in previous working projects, it happens with new blank titles, and so on.
What I've noticed most recently while trying to fix the problem, is that sometimes I can actually type a couple of letters or hit an editing key or two in the titler window normally, but then the titler loses focus and keeps it lost permanently after that. That doesn't always happen, and it doesn't appear to be related to process flow. So restarting PP2, or closing and reloading a project, don't affect the arbitrary nature of the "sometimes starts to work" behaviour. I can sometimes re-edit a title in the same project after editing the title with the focus lost, and suddenly the first few keystrokes are normal, but then the focus reverts to the main app.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to try (apart from reinstalling the application again or upgrading), I'd be most grateful.
    -PCPete

I think you're right, it's starting to look like another problem within the "new" PP2 installation. It's such a complex app, it's not surprising it gets lost.
Since this is the only app that has this problem (and because of the nature of the problem), I know it's not a graphics card or driver issue.
This appears to be a high-level windows function problem, to do with the way the PP2 app is handling the modal form. It's probably not the mouse driver, since I don't move the mouse outside of the child window, but that doesn't leave much else. I don't have popups or any other asynchronous applications (like email warning windows or balloon-type reminders or notifications) either.
I really don't want to go through the horror of yet another reinstall of an Adobe product if I can possibly avoid it, but pending no other useful ideas, that is an absolute last resort.

  • Help please with sound problems with titles in iMovie HD/iDVD

I find on a DVD I am creating that certain titles produce brief, grating noises when once the DVD is burned.
I am unable to hear these noises in iMovie HD.
I have tried re-importing the video and doing all the captions again ~ but the result is always the same: these loud distortions of the audio, but only on a couple of the titles.
By the way, I have found that by setting the volume to 60% on the regular video and setting it to 140% on the clips with titles, I get a result on the burned DVD where the volume appears constant. I have never understood why putting on a title should diminish the volume: seems like a serious weakness in this software.
But right now, it's these unwanted noises that are spoiling my project.
    Any answers?

    Hi again Sue.
I've just gone and read that reference.
No, I've tried extracting the audio and re-doing the title, but when I burn the DVD (and you know how long that takes) I find on playback I have these grating noises.
I suppose I should be grateful they are only brief and affect only a few of the many titles.
Thanks though for taking the trouble to try and help.

  • Problems with titles and photo galleries

    Hi
I would really appreciate help with two problems...
    1. I have changed the title on all my pages yet the title bar
in the browser still shows untitled document!
    2. I have downloaded a photo gallery from the internet and
exchanged the images for my own, works perfectly off my own
computer but as soon as I put it in as a flash file in my page and
publish, none of the images are there and it has 'undefined' on the
    bottom of the gallery
    Thanks for any support
    MVA1983

A url always helps but here are some pointers
    1) Make sure you are not using a frameset.
    2) Check the links to the images in the flash file because it
    sound like
the link is somehow different between your machine and the
    server.

  • CS3 - problem with titles

Hi everybody! I'm using adobe premiere pro cs 3,I've added two titles in my video that "scroll" from right to left and vice versa.. after reading help and tutorial I tried to add anti aliasing and blur in order to resolve it but when I export the video they appear not clear with many thin horizontal black
lines... someone can suggest me how can I resolve this problem?? is it possible that is a problem of the features of the video exported? is PAL mpeg2 720x576 25[fps] wide screen, 224 [kbps] 48 kHZ, 16 bit, stereo...I'm waiting your kindly help!!! thanks! and happy new year!!!

Can't view your link but... What are your sequence settings? Are you using title3D? If so, you need to use the control tab not the motion tab to reposition or resize. If you are using the plain text generator in fcp, do not resize using the motion tab, generate your text in the correct size and if you reposition, make sure the vertical coordinate is an even number.
For crawls, I create my titles in photoshop and then bring them into fcp and keyframe the motion. I prebuild it in a sequence with the field dominance set to none (This is very important).

  • Strange problem with titles when exporting to Quick Time

I recently finished a project. It includes some simple titles - mostly lower third consisting of 2 lines, left justified. When I export to QT, the centering on the titles mysteriously changes - flipping from left to right. I keep going back to the timeline to double check and even do them over again, but the same thing keeps happening over and over again, often on a different titles. I've also tried copying the timeline to a new project. When I export the files through compressor, a completely different set of titles uncentered themselves. When I go back to the original timeline however, all the settings are correct. This is most aggrivating! I've never had this problem before. Any suggestions appreciated.

No - it's nothing I haven't done before. I'm simply using the Boris Title Crawl with the chalkboard font. Very simple stuff. When I export to a FCP self contained movie, the centering switches from left to right within the shot - so the titles looks animated. When I go back to the original timeline, all the settings are correct. Sometimes if I redo them, the problem corrects itself..but then another title goes off center It makes no sense.

  • Problem with Titling Build In/Out

Recently, I've created a title with a blur build. After a while, I'll replay my video and find that the last few letters at then of the title line pop in first during the build and then remain on the screen instead of blurring out. This happens with other builds as well. Why is that, and how do I fix that?

    hi Markus,
    found the following in DB:
    "Problem Description:
I have my SCC configured with a LabVIEW perforce client. If I open the VI \examples\comm\access.llb\Retrieving Data from Access.vi and then from its block diagram open the subVI with a icons that says "2", then modify the sub VI, I don't get prompted to check the sub VI out. Howewver, if I close everything down and open the Part 2.vi from the GSW, then it does prompt for check out when I edit it.
    Steps to Reproduce:
Make sure the prompt to check out SCC config option is set. 1. Launch LV. 2. Create a new project. 3. Add a VI to the project that is in SCC (not checked out) AND has a subVI that is also in SCC (and not checked out). 4. Open the VI from the project. 5. Go to the block diagram of the VI and open the subVI. 6. Edit the subVI. No prompt to check out is presented.
    Workaround:
    1. Explicityly add the subVI as an item under source. 2. Refresh the dependencies node after adding the main VI."
furthermore I found this link but I don't know if this will help...
    greets!

  • Problem with titles in iMovie?

I cannot access titles in my iMovie, it continues to crash.  Please help?

Thank you for your response to my enquiry.
Problem regarding  auto change to duration of still photos is solved, thank you.
I was doing exactly as you said, but I was missing one important action. I was not saving the duration change by hitting the enter key.
Pretty bloomin obvious you will probably say!!
That just leaves the broken title legend on some of the titling options. But I can live with that.
    Many thanks again.

  • In 10.0.7 have problem with Title "Page Type" Remaining on Title Page Editing area.  How do I fix this?

This problem remains even though I keep removing it....every time I add new Title to the clip, it adds the Page Type to All my titles in the project (edit) area.  I use several in my film clips.  How do I fix it?

Maybe you know, but just to be clear, you can get rid of it (one by one) - by editing the "Name" field under the Info tab on the title clip
    But please make a suggestion - http://www.apple.com/feedback/finalcutpro.html
I've requested they take this strange feature away as well.
I'm still trying to imagine how anyone could find it useful - who cares what the "type" of the title is, enough to show it at the expense of the title itself?

  • Problems with titles and backgrounds PLEASE HELP

At the beginning of my movie, I have inserted a title (pixie dust) which prompts me to include a background. I have done so. However, when i play the movie in full screen sometimes the title doesn't even show up at other times the title shows but without the pixie dust feature. I have tried to rectify this using precision editor but it doesn't work. When I play the video in the project library the pixie dust feature shows up. Please help. What am I doing wrong?

This seemed to be a bug in iMovie v.8.0.6. I have the same problem independently of the font and the background but only at the beginning of the project.
To avoid this problem make a short transition before the title clip and the text will appear in fullscreen mode too.
    Good luck.

  • Problem with title bar icons to change window size

i am running v 2.6 on vista 64 bit with a dual core processor. the window opens full screen on my Eizo 24" monitor set at 1900x1200 but there are no choices in the top right of my menu bar to shrink, move the window. i therefore cannot shrink the window or move it to my second monitor. if i right click on the lightoom icon in the taqsk bar, there are no choices to move, size, minimize, etc.  other applications including photoshop work fine with easy control of window size so i do not think it is my system or graphics card. contol-Q does not close the program and the only way i can do so is from the file menu.
    help please.

    Jerome,
Hit 'F' enough times to get the title bar back.

  • Problem with titles after updating

After i updated FCPX to 10.1.1, my titles (block-focus) look very different (in a bad way) from how they were before.
Can i get back the titles (or at last the attributes from the old titles in v.10.0.3)?
I mean, Motion would be a solution of course, but ain´t there another possibility?
    Greetings from Austria

I don´t find the settings for playback-quality in v.10.1.1 any more. It´s rendered.
The representation and how the objects move is very different now.

  • Problem with titles during playback on TV

during playback on imovie, I have plenty of space on the left and right of the letters on a title clip. But after burning ti idvd, some titles cut off 1 or 2 letters from the clip. I went back and looked at the clip on imovie and there is tons of space between the letters and the edge of the frame. How can I tell in imovie if the clip will cut off withou burning the dvd??

You could load the movie into iDVD, and turn on "Show TV Safe Area". That will draw a rectangle on the preview window. Anything outside the rectangle is in danger of getting cut off when viewing on a TV.
