  • Having problems with TRASH!

Well I just can't get rid of this file that is in my trash. It is a U2 folder with two other sub folders of album folders in it. and those are empty as well. I tried using ONYX to delete it and no success. I tried Secure Empty and that didn't work. I don't know if the folder is being used somewhere else, I just don't know what to do, any suggestions.

  • Wierd Problem With Trash

For some reason, my Windows Media Player started messing up. I tried to place it in my trash and get rid of it, and it won't go away. It keeps saying that all of these files, with an htm extension are locked. I can't seem to figure out how to unlock those so I can empty the trash. Also, any ideas as to why the media player would start acting up, never had trouble before now. Thanks! ALL of you do great work in here.

    Hi Mike
There are several things you can do.
    1. take all those .htm files back out of the trash and use Command + i to open the info box and untick the Locked Box.
I think that works on a batch of them if you select all of them in the same directory too.
Then trash them and empty the trash, and if it says continue, keep clicking continue until only the troublesome ones that you missed are left and repeat the above process if necessary.

  • Problems with trash..

    Hey,
I'm having an issue where my trash gets deleted after 7 days even though I have my settings to "never" remove my trash. There was another post about this issue and it was set to answered, but there actually wasn't a solution, so I wanted to create a new post in hopes that someone has an answer.
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Josh

The company that I work for is the provider. We have looked into it on our mail server and found nothing wrong, or any setting set to remove the mail after a certain period of time. The users that use (God forbid..haha) PC's and Outlook Express don't have any issues. So that leads me back to something not working properly in Mail.
I've noticed that when you create an IMAP account the default is set to remove trash after a week. It almost seems that even though I have changed the setting to "Never" it's not really applying that change to my account. I don't know if this has to do with the new Intel chips or if something inside the program.
It might end up that I have to go back to POP, but obviously IMAP has it's advantages.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Problems with Trash in Finder

    Dear All and Sundry,
I currently have the latest retina macbook pro,  Trash worked fine with lion.  IE one moved an item to trash, the bin fills,  you click on empty trash , system reminds you that you will lose your files permanently, you click yes and it deletes it well permanentl
Now under M Lion,  I moved an item to trash, A reminder pops up that I will lose it permanently, I click yes, the item disappears for good and it misses completely the bin filling bit.
    Thanks
    EK

Why it happened? Various possible reasons. Did it crash? Is the card damaged? Have you got an "Hard Disk is getting full" type messages?
Media Recover will analyse the card and see what - if anything - it can recover. It will do this for free. Recovery means you have to purchase. This is all explained on their web site. Did you check them out?

  • Problems with trash OSX Lion

    Hi,
Whenever I try and put something in the trash can, it automatically deletes without being put into the trash. I've run a few terminal commands and discovered that, my trash directory is missing, does anyone know how to create a new one?
    Thanks

What was the terminal command you used? I'm trying to create a new .Trash but nothing is working for me. Somehow my .Trash got totally deleted.

  • I am having a problem with mail. In my junk mail folder I have two messages which I drag to trash and empty. Within a few minutes the messages are back in junk mail folder

I am having a problem with mail.  I am attempting to trash junk mail. Each time I do this and a while later I find the junk mail has not been discarded and is back in junk mil folder.

  • I am having a problem with email, when I delete messages from my Ipad, they come back into trash whether they are on my PC or not. The only way I can delete them is to to my providers site and delete everything there.

I am having a problem with email. I can receive and send, but when I delete, the deleted messages return into either Trash or Bin or both whether or not I have deleted them from my PC.
The only way I can get rid of them permanently, is to go into my area of my providers site(Sky) and empty all of the boxes there. I imagine it's a setting, please advise.

    For IMAP mail only.

  • Many Trash problems with leopard and no fix

    Hi
I posted that my trash is not emptying under any circumstances no one seemed to know how to solve this. i noticed that there are several people with trash issues (some not emptying until restart, others cant see the trash) i just hope that apple fix this with an update or something. meanwhile i am using a program called onyx to empty my trash and it works fine.

I am not an expert on this but i had a problem similar to what you experienced. I deleted tens of thousands of stuff at one go and it got stuck at one point. But the difference between your experience and mine is that it gave a dialog saying it cant find the file xxx to delete and also that i should click continue to proceed further. needless to say, i had to do that twenty to thirty times with each tiem a dialog popping up with same message but different file. when done, it seems to have deleted all other files except the ones it showed in dialog box. So i opened trash again and option clicked it and everything went away without any dialogs. hope that helps.
I dont know if that applies to secure emptying the trash.

  • Is there problem with Sophos Antivirus? I just received an Apple warning message saying "send it to trash"

I am using a Macbook-Pro running Maverick. I just got a message on the screen "Sophos AntiVirus will damage your computer and you should send it to Trash". It looks like a genuine Apple warning message. Is it genuine? Has anyone else had such a message?

I them installed Avast and ran a complete scan with that. It reported that there're no infected files, which makes me wonder about Avast.
And indeed you should wonder about Avast, but not for that reason. There's no reason at this point to think you have any malware on your computer, so I would not expect it to find anything.
However, Avast has a serious problem with false positives, even detecting a particular system file as malicious sporadically since 2009 at least. Worse, the current version of Avast includes an unmentioned adware feature. See:
    Avast installs adware!
The solution to this problem is not more anti-virus software.

  • I have problem with adobe bridge cs6. Every time I open it Bridge tells me to Purge Cache. I have CS

I have problem with adobe bridge cs6. Every time I open it Bridge tells me to Purge Cache. I have CS6 on two computers and it works fine on one of them. I have tried to reinstall it without succeeding to fix the problem. Does anyone have the same problem and a solution to it?
"Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation."

You must have a Mac.  Try this.
Quit Bridge, from user library (NOT system and root library) preferences folder find and delete the com.adobe.bridge5.plist file manual. Do this also in same user library caches folder (Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6) and inhere find and the folder called 'cache' and drag it to the trash.
restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences, then try again.
