Problem with unique key for Fiscal_T_Time dimension lookup

Hi,
In my mapping, I use Lookup on Fiscal_T_Time dimension provided by oracle. The validation gives me a warning,saying "VLD-1603:Lookup condition for key lookup Fiscal_T_Time does not contain a complete unique key". I'm using <source_group>.date as input and L_Day_day as lookup column, which is shown as I select the unique key from the drop down list. Both have type matches. The configuration on the dimension also shows the constraint of the unique Key. What can be wrong?

I was right. You have no graphics driver installed for the Intel HD graphics adapter.
I am very surprised you were able to install the nVidia driver because usually you get an error that states you need to install the Intel graphics driver first.
Once you install this driver, the Microsoft Basic Display adapter should be replaced by an Intel HD graphics adapter and you should be able to adjust the screen brightness.
Make sure you have installed this Intel chipset driver first and reboot. If you have done this already, you can skip this step.

Problems with Activation Key for Windows 7

Seeing as this has to do with the physical key and not the software for Windows 7 I do not know which board I should post this in.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A665 that came with Windows 7 Home Ed. serial key label on the bottom of the laptop. After 3 years of use I can no longer read some of the letters on the key. I want to wipe my laptop and do a fresh install of W7 since my laptop has been extremely slow and buggy recently. Is there any way to recover my product key?

You don't need a key. When you do a recovery to out-of-box state (the day you first used the computer) using Toshiba Recovery Media, the original Operating System will be reinstalled and automatically activated. Consult your User's Guide "Recovery of Internal Storage Drive" for detailed instructions. Type "User's Guide" in the Start/Search box and then click on User's Guide. If you have occasion to post back here, please include your COMPLETE model info as in my examples below.

PROBLEM WITH ACTIVATION KEY FOR CRYSTAL REPORT

I have bought 2 licenses of Crystal Report and one of them does'nt work.

Have you downloaded & followed the SAP Crystal documentation for 8.8? There are a number of changes in how we need to do things.
Also, optional parameters do not work & neither to default values in parameters. These are still to be fixed

Problems Engineering Surrogate Primary Key with Unique Key

SDDM 3.3.0.747 with 2 problems (at least so far). I am hoping that the problem is with this SDDM rookie and I have overlooked some setting. PROBLEM 1 I don’t want to start a religious debate about surrogate vs. natural keys but I am having a problem engineering both correctly from the logical model. I am a rookie when it comes to SDDM but have many years of experience with Designer. By default I like to have both a natural UID (UK) and a surrogate key based primary UID (PK) which is used for foreign keys. The problem I am having with engineering is I can successfully engineer the surrogate PK’s, engineer the FK’s using the PK’s but cannot get the unique key to contain the surrogate keys in the child table. If I check the identifying property in the relations, the PK columns and the UK columns are included in the child PK and the UK contains no columns. The Setup I have defined two reference entities, PROBABILITY and SEVERITY with natural unique keys defined. I also have a child entity RISK_ASSESMENT with relationships back to the PROBABILITY and SEVERITY entities and both have the “Use surrogate keys:”: check box checked. The unique key for the RISK_ASSESMENT entity includes the relationships back to PROBILITY and SEVERITY. None of the entities have a PK or surrogate key defined and they all have the “Create Surrogate Key” check box checked. In addition the following preferences are set: Data Modeler/Model/Logical NOT Checked - Use And Set First Unique Key As Primary Key NOT Checked – Name – Keep as the name of the Originating attribute Checked – Entity Create Surrogate Key Checked – Relationship Use Surrogate Key PROBLEM 2 When the foreign key columns are engineered I want the names to have a prefix “FK_” but they don’t. I have been switching between SD 4 EA1 and SDDM 3.3 trying to get things to work and trying out the template table for adding audit columns (really nice!).
Concerning Problem1. No matter what settings I use and whether I use SDDM 3.3 or SDI cannot get the FK columns to be included in the UK even though the relations are included in the UID in the entitty. When I open the properties of the child table and click on the naming standards button and click ok it complains that the UK is not complete. I add the FK columns to the UK and all is well including the naming standards.
Concerning Problem 2. Sometimes it engineers the names for FK's from the template and sometimes it doesn't. Didn't see a pattern. Gave up trying and used Naming Standards button. I still had to change a few.
The good new is, that after make changes needed in UK's and Column names of 18 tables, I know have everything deployed to Test except FK Indexes. I think I have to do those by hand.

Best Practice loading Dimension Table with Surrogate Keys for Levels

Hi Experts,
how would you load an Oracle dimension table with a hierarchy of at least 5 levels with surrogate keys in each level and a unique dimension key for the dimension table.
With OWB it is an integrated feature to use surrogate keys in every level of a hierarchy. You don't have to care about
the parent child relation. The load process of the mapping generates the right keys and cares about the relation between the parent and child inside the dimension key.
I tried to use one interface per Level and created a surrogate key with a native Oracle sequence.
After that I put all the interfaces in to one big Interface with a union data set per level and added look ups for the right parent child relation.
I think it is a bit too complicated making the interface like that.
I will be more than happy for any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Hi,
I do like the level keys feature of OWB - It makes aggregate tables very easy to implement if your sticking with a star schema.
Sadly there is nothing off the shelf with the built in knowledge modules with ODI , It doesnt support creating dimension objects in the database by default but there is nothing stopping you coding up your own knowledge module (use flex fields maybe on the datastore to tag column attributes as needed)
Your approach is what I would have done, possibly use a view (if you dont mind having it external to ODI) to make the interface simpler.

Well, I created new extract, starting 2012-06-01 15:30 to check if there was something with extract at the time, but got the same error.
If I run extract beging at 15:52 it starts and works.
But well, I got another one today. Data didn't look that bad, but yet one column came with null value:( And I'm using it as a key column, so I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record again:(
I'm replicating from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11g.
I'm actually using NOCOMPRESSUPDATES in Extract.
CDC is enabled for all tables replicated. The only thing is that it is enabled not by ADD TRANDATA command, but by SQL Server sys.sp_cdc_enable_table, does it matter?
Could you please advise why does it happen?

Problem with drill down in time dimension - OBIEE 11G

Hello There,
I have a problem with drill down in time dimension. The hierarchy for time dimension is " Fiscal Year---> Fiscal Quarter---> Month(Name)--->Date". When I select a Time dimension and click results its getting opened in a Pivot table view. The problem here is, when I click the "Total" its getting drilled down to Year ---> Quarter but when I click on "+ sign next to quarter" it should drill down to month for that particular quarter for that particular year but its drilling down to month for that particular quarter for all years.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

2.) Your answer is here: "Check the level key of the quarter level...it should include both quarter and year columns. Since a specific quarter occurs every year, quarter column alone can't be used as the level key."

According to your description, you can only create natural key in your dimension. But it's not working when using surrogate key. Right?
In Analysis Services, the snowflake schema of the dimensions are represented by more than one dimension table in other words its takes multiple dimension tables to define a dimension. Surrogate key are just some extra, redundant, unique key based on the
natural key. So there's no direct relationship or some limitations between surrogate keys and snowflake schema.
In this scenario, since there's relationship between the two dimensions, you should create natural key. For using natural key or surrogate key. Please refer to an article below:

The SCRP_CODE column has a NOT NULL constraint. The ORA-01407 error is telling you that you cannot update or set a value for this column to null because of the constraint. This has absolutely nothing to do with an index. You can use a marker/sentinel value in lieu of using NULL. For a numeric field, where everything is positive, a negative value (-1) can be decoded as meaning null. For a character field, a code such as NA can represent NULL.
This also has nothing to do (directly) with GoldenGate failing because of this error. The underlying SQL statement will fail everywhere, regardless of the tool or application. It is not a case of failing only in GoldenGate.

Problems with Photoshop cs4 for the Mac

I am having all kinds of problems with Photoshop CS4 for the Mac. When I boot the software it seems to work for a while then, I am unable to open upf a file in Photoshop. I drag a photoshop file over the application icon, the whole screen flickers and nothing happens. I am unable to quit Photoshop as the quit choice is grayed out and command-q will not make it quit. I have to force quit. I can repeat this pattern over and over. What is happening? How do I solve this problem?

Thanks for the reply. I am using Photoshop 11.0.1. I am using the latest version of Snow Leopard. I have found both Photoshop and Dreamweaver to be pretty buggy for several versions now. My suspicions were that they were really engineered for Windows and never really fully implemented for the Mac. Dreamweaver crashes or hangs on me three or four times a day if I us it all day and does various annoying things like refusing to respond to the delete key after I have used it for a while. I have pretty much stopped using it to some degree for that reason and also because there is other software that does a lot of coding things I do much more directly and simply. Also Dreamweaver always seems to struggle to quit when I tell it to quit (that is, it takes a long time and gets hung up at places before it quits) and once it does quit, I always get a message saying that it has unexpectedly quit (even when I have told it to quit).
The problems with Photoshop (starting with just taking a long time to load) have escalated to the point I described today, which makes it almost unusable. I just reinstalled Snow Leopard to see if there was anything buggy in the system software. I will report if problems go away.
Regarding both the refusal to open image files and the grayed out quit command, made me think something like you, i.e. there was some dialogue box open somewhere. However, I couldn't find anything and I don't use two monitors.
So . . . Adobe just seems to be getting more expensive and more buggy.
Incidentally, why is it still running in Rosetta rather than natively? Adobe now has a real Intel processor to work with.

Problem with a key figure restriction

Hi,
I have a problem with one key figure in report: in infocube, this key figure is aggrigated for all the profit centers (summation). In infocube, there is a value '150' for each profit centers (100 pieces) and in the report it is counting 150*100=15000. However, it shouldn't count the sum of all entries in the infocube but show only one value in the report which would be '150'.
I think this should be possible to do but I just don't know how. Hope somebody is able to help me. Thanks in advance.

If the values are same for all profit center then change the Profit center infoobject property in the query design to show the maximum values for the 'calculation result as' parameter

I have called Onda, there isn't the driver for Mac OS X 10.6.7 and they don't know if it'll be released.
So if you have a Mac it's better to not buy Onda internet key,
instead it's better to choose other brands that update the drivers of their products.
