Problem with universe migration

i have a problem? when i try to import universes from 6.5 to XIR2 using import wizard:
some universes have migrated correctly, but with others appears an error -
Details: Fail to get universe content from the source system. (ERR204) Unable to import universe from repository.
what is the matter???

You may want to try couple of things.
1. Re-export the universe to the 6.x repository and then try the import wizard again.
2. Copy the repository and use import wizard on it instead of using it directly on the main repository. (it is the recommended way as well).

There seem to be a couple of things going on here:
1. If you are using your custom dictionaries, then you have to map your input to MULTILINE1 and enable the custom parsers - just something to be aware of
2. You mentioned that you made some changes to the existing dictionary and you are not seeing any changes. To be clear, do you have different TEST and PRODUCTION environments? Or is it the same environment except that you have a local DS repository and for the dictionary you are pointing to another repository (using Dictionary --> Manage Connections)?
Having the dictionaries on a different repository should not make any difference as long as you point to them in your designer using the Dictionary --> Manage Connection option.
So I think there may be some issue with your job setup and/or dictionary values need to be looked at. You can start by adding another output field named "EXTRA" to see whether or not your data is getting parsed at all. Also, make sure the entry "CLEANME" is classified as FIRM_NAME_ALONE in the dictionary and that you are selecting the correct dictionary name in the Datacleanse Transform options.

Problem with universal installer

I have a problem with universal installer (version 2.1) as trying to intall IDS. Always it worked fine, but now, when I click on Next button of the home selector page (I fill right from/to fields), I get the message saying "problem to access the intermediate area; review if the values of destiny and origin are valid". In Spanish exactly is: "Se ha producido un problema al acceder a la zona intermedia. Asegúrese de que los valores especificados para \'Origen\' y \'Destino\' son válidos".
It stops the proccess and I can't continue. I review the log file and read the values and error message .
I deinstalled the ids pack, so may be it did some damage on my oracle installation. Also I try to start with another version I have on my computer (2.2), and it crashs just when I click on Next button of the welcome page. At the "hs_err_pidxx" of \archives of programs\oracle\oui, I can read the following:

Do your install files reside in a path with spaces in it? I've experienced some problems with the Universal Installer, if e.g. I have my files in
c:\install\Oracle Forms 9i\
but if I write
c:\install\Oracle_Forms_9i\
there's no problem.

          I am having a clustered weblogic application running on Weblogic 7.0 SP5. My application
          uses JMS as a asynchrous communication. We have MDB which listens to these JMS
          messages.
          If something is being processed on Managed Server 1 and while the request is in
          process, i am stopping the the MAnaged SErver 1 using Ctrl+C.
          After this, i go to admin console and migrate teh JTA and JMS. After this, i am
          expecting other running Managed Server should restart the incomplete transaction.
          But this is not happening. The Managed Serve2 doesn't process the requst.
          But when i restart teh MAnaged SErver 1 again, it takes up the same request and
          processes it.
          Is this a known problem with Weblogic that it doesn't support Ctlr+C case?
          Please note that the same thing is working fine when i stop the server using Admin
          console(Normal shutdown OR forced shutdown).
          Any comments in this regards are apprecciated.

Problem with Universal Dock

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if any of you guys have had problems with volume adjustment with video iPod when attached to the new dock and stereo. In most cases I have to crank the volume almost to end, but not the all way, because then the sound only comes out of the headphones. As I said, this happens in almost every song. On other the songs - I've found only few - I can't adjust the volume, which I find more pleasing. So I would like to know, is there any way to change those preferences on the iPod, or with some other method?
In case its needed, my iPods firmware is 1.0, which I wouldn't like uprage because of the backlight timer.

Hardware volume buttons and apple remote have no effect.
Resetted settings, downgraded back to iOS 4.0.1, restored to factory nothing seems to work. Strangely enough, tried connecting a friend's 2nd Gen ipod touch which hasn't been updated to ios 4.0 (it has 3.1.3) and the same thing: volume slide goes away when connected to dock, and no audio out from speakers. Speakers are good, tested them separately.
Could it be that the ios 4.0.2 update screwed up the universal dock firmware?

Problems with Oracle Migration Work Bench (OMWB)

I am asking all "migration experts" here to give me a hand.
I'm trying to convert an Access DB with loads of tables to Oracle 10g (Expresss Edition, actually) with OMWB version 10.1.0.4.0 (newest available version) and have some serious problems:
1) The migration creates the complete Oracle data model and database, but does NOT migrate the data to the new DB. This is a pain somewhere, as I have about 80 tables, and the only way which would be working in most cases, but far from all, is to export the data to .csv files and load it on the other side with the "load text data" function of the XE DB.
The first "bad sign" is that the Access application which comes with the work bench and which is supposed to export the data model AND the data (2 separate functions), does the export of the model OK, but the data export only lasts a second, and does not append anything to the xml file created by the data model export
The message I invariably get at the point where the data should be migrated is "Unable to migrate data from source <Access DB table name> to destination table <Oracle table name>;[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] File "unknown" not found ! Very helpful... What is that ?
2) The "Modify the Access application" phase that comes after the migration only worked once, and now comes up also with an error: java.sql..SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The data source name was not found, and no standard driver was indicated
So, with these 2 things, but especially point 1), most of the use of the tool is gone.
Can someone tell me what I do wrong, or where the problems are ?

Problems with universality of forms

I have created a fillable form (Job application form) in Livecycle Es2.
They are fine, I can edit save etc.
When I email them to a colleague who uses Foxit, she cannot open. Does this mean that you have to use Adobe reader to view and edit a form created via Adobe?
I think it isn't a problem, because I have another version of the form (no idea in what way it is different, I have been trying so many things!) which she can open. Fantastic - BUT when she types in a field and moves to the next one, the previous field returns to a blank state.
Any advice appreciated as I have spent all day with this!

If you look at the standard, it creates an archive and n0n-editable version of the form. But it also describes the minimum PDF structure. LiveCycle Designer/ES is not part of that standard. Also not all "PDF" viewers support this standard.
I would look at making a form that complies with the PDF/A standard and then add JavaScript supported by Acrobat 5 with changes to meet the revised security standard.
You will not only have problems with FireFox and other computer applications but tablets and eReaders present a whole set of new issues since many do not support JavaScirpt or other form features.
Apple Preview is known to corrupt form fields enough to make the sumbitted form data not visible unless the form fields are fixed or the data is exported from the from and imported into a good form.

Problems with email migration

So the wife and I both got individual emails from BT about the closure of some email services with the option to keep our current email addresses @btinternet.com by linking them to our BT broadband account.
Both done this and miracle of miracles a week later both email addresses have vanished.
Rang BT and went through 3 helplines --its still awaiting a callback.
But the gist of what I am being told is that on 24th August the accounts became sub accounts of a primary account which I have no knowledge at all of and were immediately deleted because they were being used to send out spam.
This really begs the question of how the heck an email address can somehow become somebody elses without me knowing about it.
NB before somebody raises the fishing question the email from BT that started this looks to be legit and they were only asking for the email address we wanted to keep and the telephone number of the main broadband account and post code...shoulld hardly be enough to pull off any shenanigans.
Looks like this migration might be going pear shaped.

Problems with xalan migrating from Sun One 7 to Sun One 8.1

Hi!
I'm migrating one application from Sun One 7 to Sun One 8.1, my problem is when I use xalan/xerces to transform XML/XSL appears the following error:
javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: java.lang.NullPointerException
I put my xalan/xerces version in my WEB-INF/lib but I think that the problem is that internally the server use its xalan that is a strange version, because in MANIFEST file put 2.6.0 version but I compared with 2.6.0 of xalan and it's different.
How any idea to solve this?

As you have an existing portal installation, you will need to have the 9iAS Portal 3.0.8 Upgrade Scripts in order to upgrade to 3.0.8. We expect to have these 3.0.8 upgrade scripts available next week (April 23-27) for download from OTN.
With regards to import/export, Import/Export Utilities currently will ONLY work between portal installations which are at the SAME VERSION LEVEL.
The 3.0.8 upgrade process is an "in-place" upgrade, meaning that it upgrades an existing installation to the 3.0.8 release. You will need to have Portal 3.0.7 on your new box, and then upgrade "in place" to 3.0.8 there. I would advocate also doing a "cold backup" snapshot(backup all database data and log files) of your existing production database files as well.

Problem with Universal Dock after iOS 4.0.2 installation

My universal dock is only two weeks old..It worked fine with iOS 4.0.1.
Today everything was also ok but after I upgraded to 4.0.2 while the phone was sitting on the dock and now I get the error message:
"this accessory is not optimized for this iphone"
Tried to reset settings and clean connectors, but no results.
Did you experience the same?

Problems with data migration from E-Business Suite 11i to OID.

Hi everyone i'm trying to migrate data between Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and Oracle Internet Directory.
I'm following the guidelines from the document: Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i with Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Single Sign On.
I have created a intermediate LDIF file that will converted to final LDIF file by ldifmigrator utility. But an error occurs when I try to disable a certain profile in the phase of converting the Intermediate LDIF file to final LDIF file. I am running the oidprovtool as cn=orcladmin and the syntax is as follows:

Can anyone help my to resolve the "Invalid directory credentials" error so that I can continue my Applications 11i migration.
I must admit that i'm new to Oracle Internet Directory and all advices and pointers are highly appreciated.

As Scott says, the fact that you're using HTTPS rather than HTTP is pretty much transparent to the mod_plsql handler (well in the respect that you don't really need to do anything 'special' in your application I mean).

I'm migrating an application to JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 from JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 environment.
I've installed the JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 Studio package on a new laptop with Windows XP Pro service pack 3
and copied the application from a JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 environment. I opened the application with JDev 11.1.1.2
and JDev converted the application.
When I run the application, I received a ClassCastException from MyFaces Trinidad. I've pasted the stacktrace
below.
I checked the 11.1.1.2 release notes and didn't find any Trinidad issues. Does 11.1.1.2 use a different Trinidad
release? If so, are there Trinidad config settings that I should modify?

Problems with the Migration assistant from a case-sensitve MacPro/Mavericks to a case-insensitive iMac5K/Yosemite

My previous Mac was a 2008 8-core 2.8GHz MacPro with Mavericks and a case-sensitive file system.
I received my iMac5K yesterday and attempted a migration.
I was surprised to see that my 1.5TB of data went through the FW800/TB link within 6 hours.
Actually it skipped many things including my Aperture library, my iTunes directoy, my Video/FCP project directory and, most importantly my mail...
This morning I tried to start a new migration assistant using my Mac Pro's USB3 Time Machine backup hooked to the iMac.
The iMac could not see it at all.
What do I perform the wrong way?
Thanks for your help: there's all my life on this Mac Pro, and I want it tranfered to this better, modernersystem.

Did you try a Spotlight search?
I actually found the files but everything is all over the place in private/var/folders/zz/zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n0000000000000 (yes I don't know what this is)
/cleanupatstartup/SMSsandboxTools-tmp/users/(user) and there they are.
Seems like a complete wipe, reinstall, and try it all over again is in order.

Problem with OSX Migration Tool

after changing the MacBook Pro with the osx migration tool, the creative cloud app dos not work. Removing all apps, reinstalling including the adobe cleaner tool. After this the creative cloud app window is completely empty. What to do??

The C++ rule has always been that given a set of overloaded functions, at most one of them can be declared extern "C". I am unable to come up with a code example violating that rule that compiles under C++ 4.2. Please post a (small) code sample that illustrates your problem.
