Problem with USB recognition using CS4 InDesign

Question

Help- Anyone!  I am using CS4 and Indesign will not open PDFs.  I get the following eror message:
"Cannot open the file "Name of Record.pdf"  .Adobe Indesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."
1) file is not open
2) Indesign previously opened pdf files
3)  Nothing on the computer has changed, as far as I know.
Any suggestionss about the problem or a fix?

InDesign does not open PDFs unless you but a third party product called PDF2ID. You can find information here: http://recosoft.com/products/pdf2id/pdf-to-indesign.htm
And what does this have to do with USB?
