Problem with video resize

I am a beginner in the world of video. I am trying to prepare a highlight film for girls soccer but have run into a snag. I have made a short clip in final cut pro. I resized the video in FCP to 63% with the help of the motion tab in FCP. Saved it as a quicktime movie (self contained). I then imported this into Apple Motion where I am creating the highlight section for this senior. I have masked the black area around the video. I then save the Motion project as quicktime movie (self contained) and placed it back into the FCP project. It appears to be of good quality on playback (computer monitor) but after I burn the whole highlight film, those sections that had been resized appear jagged and of poor quality. Any thoughts?

Not nearly enough information but we'd first question your workflow. Why are you going to Motion at all for a simple resize?
"Jagged" implies a field mismatch so try applying a field swap filter, which you may need to locate online and purchase, or try moving the weird clip up one pixel (this tries to swap the fields but it doesn't always work).
Sorry you're not enjoying Apple's promised instant video gratification. Video is quite complex, especially if you are using multiple applications. Each has separate and different interfaces and confusing user-controllable preferences. Video is harder than it needs to be, true.
I can assure you that in a few weeks you will be having much more fun with your new tools but, if you look in the box, you will see there are about six thousand pages of manuals and online PDFs. the answer to your workflow issues lies in those manuals.

It would help to know what videos you are having trouble with? Are these from specific internet links? Are these playing back commercial DVDs? Are these videos produced by iMovie, Final Cut Pro, or iDVD of home video? Are these videos imported from an external Firewire or USB adapter such as Elgato's devices. You give us little to go on. I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

You need to create a play list of songs that you would use for movies - mine is called Music for Movies. Then when you click on the music icon (the first box in the line of 5 in the grey bar across the lower third of the screen) and a drop down menu will appear showing all your play lists. Then simply drag and drop, but make sure that you hover over the video clip that you want to add the music to. If you don't the music will be added to the start of your presentation. You can always move the position afterwards. NOTE - if you want to add to your play list do it before you start your video editing as the list does not always update when I Movie.

i have a problem with FME. i am using Avermedia TV capture
device and Canon 3ccd Digital Video Camcorder ( PAL ) when i open
the FME interface the warning given for " Problem with Video
Capture Device".

Regarding the devices not working - the main problem we see
is that the system requirements are not being met. Here is what to
check for:
- are you running on Windows XP (only supported OS right
now)?
- do you have DirectX client runtime version 9c or higher
installed?
- do you have hardware acceleration enabled?
- do you have 32bit graphics enabled?
- do you have the latest direct show drivers from the
card/device manufacturer?

All is normal , functional, audio, text, etc. but I have problem with video chat be iChat. (3,1) According info from Motorola support is this cable modem without firewall and without any ports, cable TV provider was inform me, so in his server is none block none ports for me, therefore I have maybe any problem in me computer. Do you have your firewall active on your mac? (System preferences>Sharing>Firewall) If the firewall is on, you need to open some ports.
Report back and give us more details on your set up to troubleshoot your issue.

The second message that you are getting "The selected audio device "Beholder Aud Capture (SAA7135)" doesn't allow setting volume intensity. Disabling the volume slider control." is because your device does not let you change intensity of volume. This warning message is just to tell user that volume slider will remain disabled for the selecetd device. This is new addition in FMLE 3.0 and was not there in FMLE 2.5
Also for first message, please make sure that no other instance of FMLE is already running using this device. You can verify this from task manager. If any other instance of FMLE is running then please close that instance so that device gets free for new instance.

Problem with video capture device, with a virtual camera

I try to use Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 with a virtual camera(DirectShow Filter) but met such a problem:

Problem with video games

Hi all,
I have a problem with video games on Windows 8.1.
On my Windows 7 I could play all games without any problems.
Now I installed Windows 8.1 and I have problems with running video games: lower FPS, game breakdowns and sometimes even texture problems inside the game.
I tried to reinstall both Windows and Graphic drivers. I tried several versions of drivers.
I have Radeon HD 6870 and AMD Phenom II X4 955, SSD disk, 12 GB RAM.
The point is: the same games works perfect on Windows 7 but doesn't work right on Windows 8.1.
Can you, please, tell me if is there any other solution except going back to Windows 7 ?

Unfortunately that is not all that uncommon for the Early Intel iMac's given there age and the fact that the air intakes are probably choked with dust. Then add the extra heat caused by running a more intense OS X which is causing it to run a little warmer than normal and putting extra stress on the graphic and display components.
My 6½ year old 17" Early 2006 Core Duo w/2GB of RAM is also running 10.6.8 and is also starting to get a single line that (knock on wood) goes away after a few minutes, while many others started getting permanent ones after 2 or 3 years. One thing that I think has helped, is that about every 3 or 4 months I shutdown and vigorously vacuum out the bottom grill work and small vent under the stand to keep it running cool.
On that note: unfortunately I can only suggest that you clean your intake vents and hope that no permanent or irreversible damage has been done.

Problem with Video Time Line in CC

I have encountered a problem with the video time line panel in CC.
When importing a clip, the time line panel remains on top of the video image window.
As before, the image window does not automatically resize to float above the time line panel.
I cannot resize the clip image panel to make more room for the time line.
I have tried to reset Photo Shop to the original state without success.

Are you using a docked workspace? What zoom? Is hardware acceleration working properly? What system? What footage? Screenshots? Much more info is required...

You are using an image processing program to edit video. Seriously, use Premiere Pro or any other proper editing tool, if sound is critical and you are working with video that long. All PS is meant to do is edit short DSLR clips, nothing more. Yes, it's some sort of bug/ limitation - you're simply running out of memory somewhere.

There's a issue of using 4Gb sticks on T410 currently that results in video output artifacts and aero interface problems when using Lenovo supplied drivers v8.16.11.8825. I think I can call it confirmed (Three people including me face this issue).
Possible workaround is to install modified EliteBook 8440p video driver (read along this thread) comes with a BIG drawback of not being able to change brightness level within Windows 7. To sweeten it a little bit - you can set luminance level at POST screen, when computer boots up.

Encountered strange behavoir of my T410.
I have a T410 with 256Mb of Video Memory and 1440x900 display, a T61 with 128Mb of Video Memory and 1400x1050 dsplay and external monitor HP w2338h with 1920x1080 resolution.
If I connect external monitor to my T410 and launch Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 - image blinks and comes back with Aero disabled. Looking through event logs reveals the lack of memory. Entry information can be found further.
Now If I do the same with my old Thinkpad T61, connect the same monitor using the same cable - I can open as many Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 instances I like (tried 5) and nothing blinks and Aero stays enabled.
Actually I find ridiculous, a notebook with more VRAM cannot archive the same performance as notebooks with less.
Does anyone know what path should I pursue to solve this issue?
UPDATE: Simply running multiple instances of Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 without external monitor causes Aero disabled as well.

This must be buggy drivers, on Lenovo download site is just the one and the only initial driver for T410 graphics card.
What software were you actively using when this error occured?

start coding now, take about a week, or you could use a layout manager, take maybe, 5 minutes
