  • [SOLVED] Problem with vim and wombat colorscheme

    Hi there,
    I'm having some problems with wombat colorscheme for vim. It's just working on gvim.
    I read somewhere that wombat just work in gvim. Is that right ? I'm already using a 256-colors terminal (rxvt-unicode).
    I looked here in the forum, but I didn't find anything about.
    Just for information I downloaded it from http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1778

    Thanks for helping. It worked like a charm !

  • Dependency problem with unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386

    Hello, guys:
    I got problem when I try to install 11gR1 on my FC15. I have installed unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-1.i386.rpm successfully. But when I tried to install unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386.rpm. An error says:
    error: Failed dependencies:
         unixODBC = 2.2.11-7.1 is needed by unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386
    How can I resolve this problem?
    Thank you in advance.
    Geng

    sorry. I mean, I installed unixODBC package at first.
    The problem is resolved. It was version conflict. I installed unixODBC-2.2.11-1.i386.rpm first, but actually I should install unixODBC-2.2.11-7.1.i386.rpm!
    Thank you all the same. :-)

  • Problem with netrw in vim

    when I try to open a remote file with vim ftp://ftp.server/file.name, I get the error "E117: Unknown function: netrw#NetSavePosn". I have set nocp and filetype plugin on, as it says in the manual. I've also tried with a clean install, just in case there was sth in my .vimrc, but with the same result.
    The only  thing that worked, was to remove the version of the plugin that comes with the vim package and install the vimball from http://mysite.verizon.net/astronaut/vim … l#VimFuncs
    in my ~/.vim directory (as per advice from the maker of the plugin, here: http://www.vim.org/tips/tip.php?tip_id=337). Has anyone else experienced this? If so, perhaps the package should get the new version of the plugin?

    Hi there,
    I've got another error with netrw and vim: when i try to open a file (either with "vim ftp://login@host" or via Nautilus), i get a:
    **warning** (netrw) cannot determine method (format: protocol://[user@]hostname[:port]/[path])
    error message.
    FTP with other tools (gEdit for exemple) works fine.
    Do you know where the error came from ?

  • [Solved] Problem with upgrading polkit or filesystem

    Ok so first off they do "upgrade" but the problem has me worried that something is wrong.
    A week or so ago after converting to systemd I tried getting rid of ConsoleKit and installing polkit 0.107 from the [testing] repo but it caused pacman to get stuck at "(1/1) upgrading polkit"  So I tried that a couple of times but I could never get pacman to finish and get past that.  I had to control + c to get out of that then type exit in the console (no text was visible that I typed however but typing exit + enter worked for closing it).  So I then opened a new terminal and downgraded polkit back to 0.105 and waited for polkit to get pushed from testing to see if it would fix my issue.  Fast forward to today and I go to upgrade my system.  Among the 83 updates or so was polkit and filesystem.  What do you know it gets stuck at "(15/83) upgrading polkit".  Fuck so I control + c, open new terminal and then do the upgrade again and it continues to update but this time it gets stuck doing the same thing for filesystem.  I control + c, open new terminal and continue the upgrade until it finishes, which it does this time, and I reboot.
    I tried re-installing polkit again and filesystem again but they continue to get stuck.  I cannot "complete" the upgrade even though they show the appropriate version when I check.

    It's problem in pam configuration files. You need to create files useradd, userdel, groupadd and groupdel in /etc/pam.d/ directory with following content:
    auth sufficient pam_rootok.so
    auth required pam_unix.so
    account required pam_unix.so
    session required pam_unix.so
    password required pam_permit.so
    You da man! I also had to add grpconv and chage to get filesystem working but all seems well now thanks!
    Doug piston had me try something that I think will help anyone else who has this problem.  Try re-installing pambase and shadow.  It generated back most of any I was missing.

  • Is Apple doing anything to fix the problem with displaylink in Mavericks?

    I have been doing the Beta track for several years.  Apple has been fairly good about ironing out the bugs before a release (as compared to Microsuck and other OS alternatives).  But this problem with DisplayLink and Mavericks is about to kill me.  I've been running multiple displays for several years and never had problems with prior OSX versions.  My work computer (Macbook Pro) is still running Lion and works perfectly with DisplayLink and two 27" Samsung HD monitors.  I would really love to get back to using the monitor setup with my Dev environment, however I can't even get a 2013 model Mavericks Macbook Pro to recognize that the DisplayLink device (IBM USB3.0 dock) is connected.
    Once or twice I've gotten one monitor to show up after using the computer for a random amount of time.  On that occasion, suddenly the main screen blinked and the second monitor came to life.  I was reading webmail with Safari at the time and no other apps were running or had been started when it happened.  This sort of thing isn't what I would classify as release-ready.
    Every seed announcement I keep hoping for a fix, but after 3 since the Mav release, I'm beginning to lose hope.  Anyone have info on how this might be made to work?
    Thanks
    David

    DisplayLink also points fingers at Apple, which may be completely valid, but expecting Apple to put much effort into problems that only affect third-party hardware using an unsupported interface seems a bit of wishful thinking.
    However, rumor sites indicate a focus on graphics in the next update : http://www.macrumors.com/2014/03/06/apple-seeds-first-os-x-10-9-3-build-to-devel opers/

    I'm also having this problem. It's happening with my USB flash disk. I was almost buying another one when I tried it with Windows Vista on the same machine and it worked ok, then I tried Arch Linux (with kernel 2.6.30.5) on another machine and got the same error. After that I tried Ubuntu and it worked ok. Seems that Arch's kernel doesn't like my USB flash disk.

  • Problem with [shift-f1]-[shift-f4] in xterm

    I have run into some problems with the function keys on an xterm. The shifted versions of F1-4 don't work as expected. I found this thread:
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … +bug/96676
    discussing what seems to be this issue, having to do with some change in the terminfo data for various flavours of xterm. It apparently applies to gnome-terminal too, but not to Konsole, since it uses TERM=linux and not vt220, as far as I understand it. I can confirm this on my part too.
    The discussion there is inconclusive, so I just wanted to know if (a) anyone else here experiences the same problem (specifically, I have mapped <S-f4> to :wq in vim, but in xterm, it doesn't work. Changing to <S-f5> does work), (b) if this is a gnome/ubuntu-problem or a problem with xterm itself or some other library, and (c) if someone here knows of a fix, either temporary or permanent. At present, S1-4 are useless...

    Personally, I prefer to use a single shift register and an array with two elements. Minimizes code clutter.

  • [SOLVED] Problem with running GUI apps as root

    Hi,
    I have a serious problem with running any kind of software having GUI as root, which is indispensable for editing system files. For example I want to edit /etc/pacman.conf file with KWrite, and here's what I get
    [zbyszek@barca ~]$ xhost +
    access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
    [root@barca zbyszek]# kwrite /etc/pacman.conf
    kwrite(11282): Session bus not found

    KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi directly

    Can anyone help me with this? Can anyone tell me how to login as root?

    Maybe vim is in edit mode when you press 'i' but it doesn't show '-- INSERT --' at the bottom of the screen.
    Here you are

  • CND problem with code-completion

    Hi,
    First of all I don't really know where to put this post about C++ Pack in NetBeans. I've read one post in which someone suggests that this section will be pretty close...
    Maybe someone here would be so kind and try to help me...
    I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 and I have a problem with code completion in NetBeans 5.5.1 CND and I'm a little bit frustrated right now....
    I installed Netbeans, then CND, Created new C++ Project. Added new source file, with #include <GL/glut.h> directive.
    Whole code was compiled without errors, and that's fine.
    There were some problems with linking but I've added "glut", "GL", "GLU" string to linker parameters in Project Properties.
    The main problem is the code assistant. When I'm hitting "glut" and press ctrl+space it shows functions from glut library but when I type "gl" (to type "glColor3ub...") and try to show the code completion pop-up it shows "No suggestions". The same thing is with GLU library.
    I've installed GL, GLU, glut libraries (they all sit calmly in /usr/include/GL).
    I've added the /usr/include and /usr/include/GL to C++ section.
    I think that the Netbeans is able to find those *.h files because, as I said before, the glut (and the glX) functions are shown properly but there is no sign of "gl" and "glu" FUNCTIONS in code completion (the #define values specified in gl.h and glu.h are on the list, but the functions aren't)...
    I don't have idea why glut and glX are working fine, and gl and glu aren't... If anyone have similar problem, know where to look for an answer or have some suggestions I would be much obliged...
    I've seen Eclipse CDT, Anjuta, kDevelop, Code::Blocks, VIM + icomplete... after checking them all there is only one decision - I want to use NetBeans CND. It's user-friendly, fast and I just like it. That's why I would really like to know why the code-completion isn't working in 100%...

    Vladimir,
    The glColor3ub function declaration is in gl.h file (which along with glu.h is included in glut.h).
    Thanks Maxim,
    In the matter of fact since yesterday I've been looking for the reason why the GL and GLU aren't indexed properly by the Netbeans CC and I've found something.
    The GLU library was indexed after deleting
    #include <GL/gl.h>directive. So it means that the gl.h library is messing up.
    I've checked whole file (gl.h) and noticed that the only part which is in conflict with NetBeans is this one:
    #elif defined(__GNUC__) && (__GNUC__ * 100 + __GNUC_MINOR__) >= 303
    #  define GLAPI __attribute__((visibility("default")))
    #  define GLAPIENTRYI'm using GCC 4.1 so the expression value is 401, so the GLAPI define looks like the line above.
    gl.h is indexed properly by NetBeans when it is representing "extern", so it should look like
    #  define GLAPI externIt is working fine if you delete this part of gl.h or for example (which I've done) add predefined macro (or change the existing one)
    __GNUC_MINOR__=-200I know that it isn't very clean solution... I'm not happy with cheating NetBeans about the version of installed GCC but unfortunately I am not a specialist in GNU C so maybe someone would find more elegant solution.
    As far as I know the __attribute__ feature makes the GCC more verbose (warnings, errors) but I don't know how much functionality am I loosing in fact...
    Edit: Why the code tags aren't working? :/

  • Template problem with cs5

    I've transferred all my sites to cs5 (from cs4).  I build all my sites with DW templates.  When I bring up my pages from any site in DW cs4, I can edit them no problem.  When I bring them up in cs5, all of a sudden I have the "no-edit" symbol (red circle crossed) when I try to type over any editable areas.  Is there a setting that I am missing that I forgot to readjust when I loaded the files in cs5?
    Thanks in advance
    Jules

    I think I'm talking to myself, here...
    But just in case anyone has run into this problem with cs5...
    I usually create editable regions with content alone (minus divs).  It seems that cs5 won't allow this somehow.  I do this so that my clients won't move the div and can highlight the text that they want to change without screwing up the placement of the divs or having to click on it several times in Contribute in order to highlight the text.
    Example: (This one works)
          <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="LeftContent" -->

    yeah, actually the way the arch packages work, the vim package has the minimal dependancy crap... command line things and whatnot... and the gvim package has *just* the binary for gvim, and requires the additional files from the vim package

  • [SOLVED] xfce-panel causing problems with mouse/touchpad

    Since upgrading the packages below  I mouseclicks occasionally do not work.  Also scrolling using the scrollwheel and touchpad doesn't start sometimes. I determined it is not a problem with the mouse or touchpad because 'xev' shows the correct events firing. Also  I see the icon change from arrow to hand when clicking.
    <edit>
    It appears that "xfce4-panel" is the cause. I use tint2 instead of  xfce-panel, but the process running an empty panel is started by default and  somehow interfered with mouse and touchpad events. solved it by removing it from the session, and comment it out in /etc/xdg/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-session.xml
