Problem with virtual XOR2 in Multisim BLUE

I'm using Multisim component Evaluator Mouser Electronics Edition (aka Multisim BLUE). The component database suffers from a total lack of logic gate ICs. My design includes a 4070 (quad 2-input XOR) with VDD = 0V and VEE = 15V. Since I can't use a proper 4070 component, I'm using "Master Database > Misc Digital > TIL > XOR2" instead. This component only seems to permit VDD = 0V and VEE = 5V, which isn't what I need. How can I change VEE to 15V?

I've been having a few problems with a virtual computer and its network connection. I've set up a few computers the same way over the years and they all work fine except this one. We use the Virtual PC and XP mode to access our data from an older
program. The databases are on a server, which are accessed as a mapped drive. Every once in a while (with no particular pattern, sometimes it doesn't happen all day, sometimes it happens every 5 mins), the VPC gets disconnected from the network,
my program returns a file read error and then everything is frozen. When I try to ipconfig/release and renew, it releases correctly then it won't renew. I need to shut down the VPC from the Win7 task manager and even so, it doesn't shut it down,
even when I try to kill the vpc process. The only way it'll come back up is if I restart the computer. The network connection on the Win7 computer doesn't do that.
Is there anything I can do to fix this ?

Does it become more stable now, actually, I'm afraid that this issue is not related with the drive letter or name. Since you're using bridge mode, the I would suggest you use NAT as a test, it is the default network configuration, which allows the VM
to leverage the external TCP/IP network connected to the host. This is very useful if you regularly move the host computer between different network configurations. NAT is the preferred networking option when there is a shortage of IP addresses, a need to
ensure the VM’s IP address is not targetable from an external network, or a need for connecting using WWAN.

Problem with virtual Key Figure in a query

I have a query with a virtual key figure and when I eject the query by analyzer, the result sometimes is displayed and sometimes is not displayed (is equal to 0), with the same initials values. And when I eject the query by RSRT always display the result for the virtual key figure.

Problem with Virtual Keyboard in Apple Apps?

I am using an iPad 3 and have had Numbers and Pages apps since my iPad 1. I am suddenly having a problem with the virtual keyboard covering/hiding the text box where you type. For example, in Numbers: I double tap to type something in a cell and the keyboard comes up but the text box where it shows what you are typing is behind the keyboard. I haven't seen anyone else mention this problem. I have tried it both in landscape and letter orientation. I have deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it but that doesn't change anything. This is also happening in these apps on my iPhone 5. This started happening after the last OS upgrade. Anyone have any ideas? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

No, I haven't seen that on iOS 6.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Subtitle problems with Encore CS4 and BD/Blu-ray -- here is a solution!

Do you have problems with subtitles: for example they vanish completely after doing fast forward or turn them off and on again. Then here you can find one possible solution.
I am using Windows Vista 32bit. Thus Encore CS4 is the last version which I can use. Because Adobe will never provide a solution for this version, I was looking for another solution.
At least I found a workaround for my subtitle problems.
Now I am doing the following steps:
1. Create the blu-ray disk in a folder without subtitles
2. Create the subtitles with a program like "subtitle workshop"
3. Save the subtitles in the .srt format.
4. Use the program SubConverter Express v1.5.0 to convert the subtitles in the .sup format. Here you must choose a suitable font & font size.
5. Add the .sup to the blu-ray folder structure with the program BDFix Express v1.7.3. When doing that, you can also choose the language i.g. "deu" for german. You will find a detailed description in the forum on www.defsoft.com. It is very easy to understand.
6. BDFix will create a new folder with all necessary files to burn a blu-ray disk. Nothing changes in comparison to the folder which was createt by Encore except that subtitles were added.
7. You can burn this folder with a tool like imgburn.
With this workaround you will have the following advantages:
1. It seems that these subtitles were added in a blu-ray specification conform way. Fast forward/backward, switching on/off, chapter jump still work perfectly.
2. The subtitle fonts are rendered in a much more smooth way than Encore does.
3. The 5 frames gap between subtitles is not longer necessary.
4. This solution ist quite fast (about 20 minutes for a 25 GByte disc).
5. You can use these programs also for other blu-rays to add or remove subtitles.
6. You do not need Encore to add/change or remove subtitles. You can do that also years later. You only need the burned blu-ray disc.
To be honest, there is one disadvantage:
- The two programs (SubConverter & BDFix) cost about 200 US Dollar. But to cure my nerves that was worth it.
Hint: You can do a first test with the freeware versions. But there are two limitations. SubConverter can only import 30 subtitle lines and BDFix will only create 3 minutes of subtitles.

FLV and F4V use different codecs for Flash video. H.264 in case of F4V and On2 VP6 for FLV. There's a difference of bitrate between different quality presets. You can check the bitrates of files generated using some tool. Your video might be very static to feel the different be the two quality settings.
F4V is the new format and need a newer version of Flash Player. Please update your Flash player and try again to play the F4V files.
Playstream doesnt support F4V format. You can only export FLV files to Playstream.
It might also be an issue of low bandwidth while playing a streaming video. Are you playing is locally or from a web server.

Strange problem with virtual machines backup (Hyper-V 2012R2)

I have a strange problem with backup of virtual machines in one of my Hyper-V environments. Let me describe how does it looks like: There are two physical servers - HP DL360 G8. They are used as hosts for four virtual machines - domain controllers in two domains.
Each of them runs one DC in every domain. I've configured backup "inside" every virtual machine (with Windows Server Backup tool), in its operating system, because domain controllers should have their system state, regularly backuped, etc. Backup
is made on the network share - all machines to the same server as destination. And now the case - two virtual server are backuped as expected - the operation takes 3 - 4 minutes and is always succeded. But in case of two remaining it looks as below:
- Backup operation starts (is scheduled).
- Volume shadow copy is made.
- The first partition of VM starts to be copied. It's Windows 2012 R2 Generation2 VM, so it has EFI, Recovery and C: partition. EFI is as first and at this moment backup stucks for a 2-3 hours! Progress of copying is 0%. After for example 3 hours this partition
is completed and starts the next (disk C:). And again - it freezes for a few hours and suddenly is pushed. As a result the backup is made successfully, but it takes for example 10 hours.
Both "dodgy" VMs are on separated hosts. All four of them were installed in the same time. I tried to change destination to locally connected disk, but no result. It's interesting as well, that after rebooting VM, the first backup is made normally,
but every next has described problem again. In EventLog I can't find any errors, I don't know how to diagnose such case precisely, etc. Have you got idea what can cause such behaviour or where on the server should I look for some hints?

To narrow this issue down , Please try to backup an Gen1 VM and check the result .

I have implemented Virtual Keyfigures for my Bex report and it is working perfectly bUt for one scenario.
If i give PLANT and MATERIALS in the selection , The report calaculates the Virtual
keyfigure value correctly But if i give Only PLANT
and NO Materials ( A single plant can have 700 materials also!!), The report executes and after sometime
gives me a messsage " Disconnecting from Server"
I executed the report in RSRT . It gives me this error "exception with the type CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW occurred"
Since the Virtual keyfigure doesnot use Cache memory. Is it restricted by the Physical memory?. How to overcome this
problem?
Please let know if anyone faced this issue and resolved It. Any help or guidance is really appreciated.

i create a virtual host on infrastructure and midtier
if i connect to the home page (http://www.virtualhost.it:7779) it works. if i connect to the http://www.virtualhost.it:7779/pls/portal i get the original page http://server.rsdom.com:7779/pls/portal.
how can i understand the problem?

Slim, a problem with virtual consoles and a question about reboot

hi, just installed slim but now when I switch to the virtual consoles my session on X starts firing keyboard events on the consoles I have there, how can I fix that?
I'm using xmonad, my terminal is sakura and I'm starting slim from /etc/inittab and xmonad from ~/.xinitrc
also, it seems slim uses special usernames to halt and reboot however those ask me for the root password, is there a way to avoid that?

so if you really want it, read the wiki page on the abs, add the patch to the pkgbuild, makepkg, and pacman -U. if you don't want pacman to replace your patched version when there's an update, add slim to the IgnorePkg line in /etc/pacman.conf. you'll have to re-makepkg and re-pacman -U whenever there's an update, but it ain't that hard.

Problem with virtualized Adobe Reader Pro!!!

We have Virtualized Adobe Reader Pro 10.0 with MS application Virtualized 5.0. Users are facing issue to open write-protected pdf with the virtualized adobe while they can open normal pdf with the same virtualized adobe. Any hints that we might consider for this issue – in the way what happens in the back-end when a write-protected document is opened? Also does Adobe has any policy when it comes to virtualisation?

Problem with virtual copies

Everything was working fine until today. Now, when I use Photo->Create Virtual Copy, it makes the copy in a stack with the original image. But I can't un-stack the copies. If I use Photo-Stacking->Unstack the virtual copy just disappears and the original no longer has an indicator that it's part of a stack of multiple copies. If I use Photo-Stacking-Expand All Stacks nothing happens - the image says it still has a stack.
I'm using Lightroom 1.1 on a Mac OS X 10.4.

I had this problem also. If I remember correctly, make sure the VG2 content folder is in(here's the path) Your computer>library>Steinberg> VirtualGuitarist2>VirtualGuitarist Content.
I believe that if it's in your home folder>library>app Support it wont be seen.
I think I had to make a Steinberg Folder and put it in the first path I mentioned

Problem with Virtual Hosts Individual Config Files and OSX 10.7 Lion (AllowOverride Setting)

I am hoping some other Xserve users running OSX 10.7 (Lion) can offer some additional input or help in a couple of issues I am running into with the Apache settings on my server.
Below is an example site config file on our server. We are hosting a number of sites and are using .htaccess files and apache's rewrite module to create vanity URLs. In order for the .htaccess files to be used AllowOverride has to be set to "All" instead of "None"
The problem I am running into is everytime I stop and restart the web service on the machine it keeps changing this setting back in the individual site configuration files. I will change it to AllowOverride All and next time the server has to be restarted or the web service has to be restarted it is defaulting every site back to None which has become quite frustrating.
Is there somewhere I can set this default setting to prevent this from occuring and forcing every site and site config to default to "AllowOverride All" ?
Should I be researching this somewhere specific? OSX 10.7 changed the entire Apache Interface and the manner in which it runs and I am finding little to no documentation on it.

Are you using the default Server.app, or have you downloaded and installed the (proper) Server Admin tools?
Server Admin.app isn't included as part of the Lion Server distribution, but if you download it and install it you get the same set of admin tools as you're used to with previous versions. From there you should be able to set the 'Allow All Overrides' setting for your site.

Performance Problems with Virtualized DC (2012 R2)

Just added a new Hyper-V 2012 R2 Server Edition box running two virtualized DCs (2012 R2). Ever since, performance using ADUC has been lacking. Pinging the virtual machines, the results vary between 1ms-200ms. For the past week I thought the
issue was DNS or with the DCs themselves but researching points the issues might be related to the Network card and possibly with VMQ. I used the following command on the host to disable VMQ; Get-VMNetworkAdapter -ALl | Set-VMNetworkAdapter -VmqWeight
0, hoping that would solve the issue but it still remains.
I next took the angle of a driver issue. On the virtual machines, The network driver is the Hyper-V Network Adapter. On the Host, I cannot tell since on a Server Core Edition you cannot get to Device Manager. I downloaded the drivers from Dell and Broadcomm
(the server does have the the Broadcom NetXtreme II 1G card) but both are designed to be installed in the GUI (setup files / no .inf files).
I know the issue is with that host / vms. I can change ADUC to point to another server, and speed is what one would expect.
Most servers are running on R710 servers with VMWare 4.1 and Windows 2008 R2. The new server is a Dell R620 with Hyper-V Server Core 3.0 (2012 R2) and Windows 2012 R2 Virtual Machines. While we have a SAN, these servers are using attached drives. Network
is all Gigabit using Dell Powerswitches

That was in fact the case. I used Disable-NetAdapterVMQ and that seems to have resolved the issue. What is the difference between that command and using Set-VMNetwork Adapter -VmqWeight 0 (other than the disabled worked)? Prior to running that command,
I did run Get-NetadapterVMQ and all but two were disabled. It is like the one I used only did a partial disable... Odd.
