Problem with Volume in iOS6

Hi All,
I was playing Street Fighter on iPhone 4 (iOS 6) whilst i was playing i received an incoming call which i declined, but post that the volume of the game went into mute and couldnt hear a thing. I pressed the home button, then double clicked it and closed the game. Then restarted the game to get my volume in my game back.
It happened again and this time i tried increasing the volume, no help what soever. I re-tried the work around and i got the volume in my game back.
Any ideas whats going on, as this didnt happen in iOS 5
Regards
Bhargav

I think the behaviour you described for the solo button is the expected one. When you use bus routing, the "columns" are the source?where the channels will be copied from, and the "rows" are the destination where the channels will be routed. If you are not playing music that uses a pair of channels, routing them to others?won't do anything. For stereo sources it's better to route in the 'Wave' column. If you use a playback software that supports ASIO output plugins you can assign channels arbitrarily whithin the program.

Did you fix the problem? I have the same problem and it has been pain in the neck.

  • Using techtool pro found problem with "volume structure".  What to do?

Using techtool pro found problem with "volume structure" and this was not fixed by TECHTOOL PRO.  What do you suggest I do?

I would boot from my gray install disk (put the disk in the drive and restart holding down the C key). Then choose Utilities and run Disk Utility and click Repair Disk. As always, be sure you have a back up of your data first.

  • G20 - Problems with volume wheel

My volume wheel isn't working as it should, when i'm trying to turn the volume down, it jumps up again. same when turning up, it's jumping down. To turn it up or down i have to turn and turn and turn before it moves. If I'm turning the sound up its like it's moving 1 up, 1 down, 1 up, 1 down, 2 up, 1 down... and so on.
Does anyone have any solution for this problem? It's like this in Qosmio player and Windows.

    Hi again
I am not technician but according to your explanation I believe that there is mechanical problem with volume control dial. On this way we can just speculate but just intensive check can give you an precise answer.
In my opinion you should contact Toshiba service partner in your country and explain them the situation. Sorry but I dont see any other solution.
If the warranty is still valid the repair will be for free. If you need ASP address you can find it under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?pf=true
    Bye and good luck!

  • A problem with volume control on a third party earphones

I have an old iPhone 4 that I use mosly for music and I recently bought a new pair of headphones (Bidenuo G380) and there is a problem with the buttons on it.
Whenever I press any of the buttons while music is playing on my iphone, the volume goes up by about two steps for a few seconds and goes back down again.
However that's not it. There is also a microphone on there and any loud noise or just touching it triggers the volume going up. It is especially annoying when I'm in a loud environment.
I tested these earphones om my mother's iPhone 5 ant they seem to be working perfectly, which means it's a problem with my iPhone 4. I have read a few other topics and although I didn't find anyone with the same problem, I found that cleaning the 3.5mm port on my iphone could fix it.
If it would, I'd be much appreciated if you could tell me exacly how to clean it. I was thinking if it's ok to use a little bit of alkohol and would it damage anything?
If there's another solution to this, please share it with me. Thank you for all your answers in advance.

Here is an article on how to clean a headphone jack:

  • Problems with volume control, built-in speaker on HP ProBook

    Hi
Recently installed Arch on a HP ProBook 4330s. Initially sound was working perfectly, but now I'm having problems with the built-in speaker.
Using alsamixer in the terminal, I can independently control the volume of the headphone jack and the speaker, but it seems like the speaker is linked to the headphone volume instead of the speaker volume. Thus raising the speaker volume in alsamixer has no effect on the speaker itself, which only outputs sound as long as the headphone volume is raised and the loopback box is checked. This also means that the speakers cannot be muted while using headphones.
I installed pavucontrol to see if I could gain any insight, but trying to select "Speakers" as output port seems only to have an effect the volume sliders in alsamixer. So no settings in PulseAudio UI could solve my issue.
I have googled wide and far, but haven't found anything helpful. I tried reoading kernel modules snd-hda-intel, snd-hda-codec-idt, snd-hda-codec-generic, but nothing changed.
Below is some info of my system. Please let me know if I need provide more. Any help is appreciated.

I do have all those packages installed. The volume controls were working perfectly for about 3 week, but now suddenly they are not behaving as expected. I don't know of any changes I made to my system that could have caused this. I suspected it might be a problem with the drivers, so I tried to find the appropriate driver at https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentatio … Models.txt
    [frwdrik@frwdrik ~]$ cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 | grep -i codec
    Codec: IDT 92HD87B1/3
But I cannot find this codec on that page.

  • IPhone 6, problems with volume, automatically goes to the max when listening to the music

iPhone 6 iOS 8.1, sometimes when I'm trying to increase volume by 1 bar, it goes to the max and there is no way to decrease it without reboot. Had same problem before updating to iOS 8.1... I've never had that problem with my 5S, which is also on iOS 8.1. I'm using Beats Mixr headphones with remote. I've tried to restore the phone, didn't helped.
Yesterday I was listening to the music on iPhone 6 for about 4 hours and this happened 5 times, today I listened music from iPhone 5S for almost 5 hours and it didn't happended even once... I was using the same headphones... Any ideas?
    THanks in advance

My phone is not on mute, the volume is up to the max, there are no blue tooth connections, the phone will not ring only vibrate with the ringer on.  I cannot hear any music through the phone either.

  • IdeaPad Z370 and Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit - problem with volume buttons

I recently bought my new Lenovo IdeaPad Z370 without operating system and installed Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit (the pre-installed system was FreeDOS which I decided to remove).
Nearly all is working fine. The only exception are the volume keys: pressing them does start adjusting the volume, but causes a system problem. If I press sound up, the speakers move to immediately to the maximum volume and behave as it I was continuing to press the button.
The same happens when pressing the volume down or sound off buttons. It is then not possible any more to use the keyboard or type anyting, nor change the volume using the touchpad and Ubuntu's speaker symbol. It is also not possible any more to shut down the computer using Ubuntu's virtual shutdown button, but with the real button on the computer.
The touchpad is still working and after putting the computer briefly into standby the problem is solved to the degree that it is possible to use the keyboard etc. again, and the sound volume can be adjusted again with Ubuntu's speaker symbol.
I guess this must be a driver issue that ubuntu 11.1 does not support the buttons.
As well, the one-key-theatre button and the thermal-management button do not work. Pressing them, just nothing happens (except that the light up).
I should mention that installing Ubuntu apparently deleted the partitions including the one-key recovery button. At least this key does now only work like a second power-button. Unfortunately I did not receive the User-guide with the computer but only downloaded from the internet after installing Ubuntu.
I wonder whether apart from adjusting the volume buttons, it might be possible to get the one-key-theatre button and thermal-management-button operational for ubuntu too, and whether the one-key-recovery button could work under ubuntu too. Gparted tells me that I have 2 small partitions of 3.9 GiB each, labeled "extended" and "windows swap", and one of 1.02 GiB which is not in use apart from the main drive of course.

The issue you are encountering is due to driver absence in Linux.
The driver for Linux is not available.  Hope, Ubuntu new version have more applications and drivers.
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

  • Problem with volume handle and external SWF

    Hello I'm having 2 problems.
The first is that when loading an external swf in my main SWF I get this in the output window:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
    at audio_fla::list_1/frame1()

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
    at audio_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
But it still works. Its an mp3 player.
The other problem is that the loaded SWF has a volume controller. When I test the external SWF by itself it works fine. When I load it on my main SWF when I start to drag the handle on my volume slider and MOUSE_UP outside the handle it still keep dragging the handle.

  • Problems with volume when streaming a Netflix movie from my Mac Book Pro (Mid 2009) to my flat screen TV?

    Hi!
Does anyone know what I need to do in order to turn up the volume when I’m streaming a Netflix movie from my Mac Book Pro (Mid 2009) to my flat screen TV?
I hooked up the HDMI adapter from my Mac to my TV and it is currently in Mirror Mode, but I can’t turn up the volume, the only audio I’m able to adjust is on my Mac.
I’ve already tried: System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers Built in output.  That’s the only option my Mac gives me.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello jguti,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your external display connected via HDMI is not being detected by the computer.  At this point, the best bet for your next troubleshooting step would be to reset the system:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.

My volume button gets stuck when I keep pressing it, it's software or hardware issue?

Restore as new, if that fixes the problem it is something in your settings or backup that was causing the issue.
If it does not fix the problem, you have a hardware issue.

  • Bigtime Problems With Volume Mounts

Dear kind, helpful, charitable, community of Apple users,
I'm been spinning my wheels on this for a week now and I'm totally stuck. I'm sufficiently desperate that I thought about offering a cash bounty via PayPal. (But I can't figure out an equitable way to do that so anyone who can help with this will win a virtual $1 "admin buck" and my undying gratitude.)
Here's what I'm trying to do: I have a Mac Mini running 10.6 server. I also have a 1T external USB hard drive. I want to permanently mount this external hard drive at /Users, so all user accounts will live on the external drive. I've been a sysadmin for 20 years, dabbling in Unix the whole time, and this seems to me like it should be a no-brainer.
Here's what I've tried: I added this line to /etc/fstab using vifs:
    UUID=BDFE6D09-7483-3479-B37F-0BE15F9CBFBB /Users hfs rw
I've also tried a couple of variations, using different options (like LABEL and the volume label instead of the UUID, as well as explicit numeric values for fs_freq and fs_passno in the fifth and sixth fields. Regardless, when I run 'mount -av' I get:
    GetMasterBlock: Error 2 opening UUID=BDFE6D09-7483-3479-B37F-0BE15F9CBFBB
    GetMasterBlock: Error 2 opening UUID=BDFE6D09-7483-3479-B37F-0BE15F9CBFBB
mount_hfs: No such file or directory
    mount: exec /System/Library/Filesystems/url.fs/Contents/Resources/mount_url for
/Network/Servers: No such file or directory
This is nonsense because the drive itself is formatted and partitioned and attached and on and visible in Disk Utility (though not mounted), and the /Users directory exists on the root. In fact, if I execute the following:
    mount_hfs /dev/disk2s3 /Users
The volume mounts perfectly! Everything is peachy. Except, as soon as I log off twice, the volume unmounts for no explicable reason. Rebooting the system never automounts the volume like it's supposed to. Anytime automount (or mount, for that matter) fails, this is posted in the console error log:
10/9/09 6:38:59 PM com.apple.autofsd[91] automount: Mount for UUID=BDFE6D09-7483-3479-B37F-0BE15F9CBFBB has no path for the directory to mount
Oh, and yes, autodiskmount.plist is correct and exists in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.
    So my questions are these:
    1. Why does the darn think keep unmounting whenever someone logs off the server?
    2. Why does mount -a fail, while mount_hfs works fine
    3. What the heck am I supposed to do to get this thing to mount and stay mounted at /Users?
Thanks for taking the time to ever read this!

    Hi Strontium90,
    Thanks for the reply!
That is because Firewire and USB drives do not mount until the Finder is active. This is the default behavior, meaning that server, booting to the login screen, will not mount "transitory bus" devices. However, this can be overcome. You need to run this command to alter the default behavior (note this is all one line):
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool YES
Well, unfortunately, that's what I meant in my original post when I said that, yes, the file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist already exists. I have already executed the command you indicated, which creates the .plist file. And while this does seem to mount the drive right after a reboot, as I stated, the act of logging on and then off causes the drive to be unmounted. In fact, the as far as I can tell, no matter how the drive gets mounted, it is automatically unmounted at every logoff.
But unless I am misreading what you are trying to do, that will allow the drive to mount automatically during startup and be available to the system without a user session.
And it does... but it doesn't stay mounted. And it doesn't explain why mount -a fails with the errors I listed.
As for a remap of the Users folder... If this is for network homes, then simply define the share point and define it to go to your external drive.
It is indeed for network homes. Unfortunately, all of the defaults in server when creating accounts want to use /Users. I know I can change these defaults, but my experience with Apple is that successive operating system upgrades never respect or protect changes to defaults. Since all of the admin tools (and applications, and etc.) want to use /Users, I want to simply mount a larger partition at that point.
Which, unfortunately, brings me back to my original three questions...

  • Latest ipod Shuffle upgrade having problems with volume!

I just upgrated to the latest software version of the ipod shuffle and now I can't change the volume on my device with out having the music being played affected causing it to break frecuently during play out. I will like to remove this newer software upgrate and just leave it as it was, when it was working all fine. Any Ideas?
    Thanks

    Excuse me for jumping in.
What's described Here should work if you have iTunes 7; I haven't tried it yet, though.
Otherwise, locate the most recent updater [2006-6-28] (they're found in ~/Applications/Utilities/iPod Software Updater.localized on my machine). Download it if necessary.
Run the updater; connect the shuffle when prompted.
    Good luck

  • Problems with volume bar

I have just bought a 30GB, 5th Gen iPod. When I turn the wheel, the volume bar shows up (with the sound symbol at either end), but it is completely clear (white) when I adjust the volume - no blue volume level indicator appears, even though the volume is adjusted.
Is there any way to rectify this, or do I need to get a replacement iPod? Or is this normal?!
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Problems with iMessage and IOS6 !!!

Since I installed the new IOS6, I have not been able to use my Imessage! (On both my new Ipad and my Ipod touch 4th Generation). Could somebody please help me out?

I had the same problem; First, I was unable to sign into iMessage, FaceTime and even iCloud.  I kept getting an error message saying unable to connect to the servers, and to check my network settings.  I restarted the phone.  Then I signed back into each app.  iCloud let me sign in but still didn’t work and FaceTime and iMessage were not working at all and were still giving the same error.  As I was sorting through this problem, I began trying to set up Passbook (still doesn’t work btw) and read a thread about having to go and set your date and time to manual and not set time and date automatically, then set the year forward a year and then it would work.  Well I tried that do try and get Passbook working, I then put the date and time back to set time and date automatically, and all of a sudden iCloud started working, and FaceTime and iMessage let me sign in and activated.  I was able to send text via iMessage, but was not getting replies.  I restarted the iPhone again and it has worked perfectly ever since.  Hope this help, just search Passbook setup problems, you will find tons of threads about this problem.  Hope this helps.
