Problem with Web Service integration in Adobe Form

Hi All,
I am new to web service and adobe interatcive forms.
I need to develop a button on offline interactive adobe form which would call the webservice. The web service is exposed from PI.
I am facing a lot of troubles.
1. I not am able to find the web service in Web service navigator neither in portal nor PI. hence i am not able test it.
2. I am having error while creating data connection in NWDS    " Cannot choose this operation: - there is no associated SOAP
    Binding ".
Hence i am not able to proceed ahead.
Please let me know how to solve the issue.

Aditya Deshpande

  • Web Service call from adobe form

    Hello,
    I developed the form in SFP, I created a webservice and tested the web service with a third party tool, this works fine. I added a new dataconnection and imported the wsdl file. I linked the request parameter to a from field and the returns parameters to a form field, added a button with "execute" , with run at server option. I didn't check the Re-merge Form data check-box. When generating the form everything go's well, when I open the form in the reader and fill in the request parameter and push the button i still get the message :
    "can not post data to."
    I'm using Adobe Reader 7.09 and Life Cycle Designer 7.1. On a SAP ECC 6.0 SP08 system.
    Additionaly I looking for example script for binding the request node to a field value ? Or a examples of searching a node table with a value, like a check table within the form. I'm really looking for more scripting examples because I'm a real ABAP-guy.
    I hope some one got some extra information for me to solve this problem.
    Thanx in advance.
    Jasper

    Hi Jasper,
    You may refer the Adobe ddevelopment center for the docs related to the execute property of the button to trigger a web service.
    <i>Alternatively, if you do not want to create a button to execute a call to a Web Service, you can do it via Script.
    Assuming your Data Connection is named ‘LeasePayment’
    For JavaScript:
    xfa.connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    For Form Calc:
    $connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    execute(0) indicates no data merging
    execute(1) indicates all the data in the data DOM will be remerged.</i> - Adobe doc.
    hope this will help.
    Thanks andRegards,
    Anto.

  • Problem with web service proxy and connections.xml

    JDev 11.1.14
    Hello
    I'm trying to create a web service proxy that takes advantage of the connections.xml so that the endpoints can be changed without recompiling the code (as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b31974/web_services.htm#ADFFD548 - 13.2.2 How to Create a New Web Service Connection)
    I created the web service proxy using the Jdev wizard and a test client. The access to the web service works as expected.
    The client test code is :
    package model;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.proxy.*;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.root.Currency;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    public class wsTest {
      public wsTest() {
        super();
      public void testIt() throws NamingException {
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = new CurrencyConvertor();
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();
        Double res = currencyConvertorSoap.conversionRate(Currency.CHF, Currency.USD);
        System.out.println("Hello");
        System.out.println(res);
      public static void main(String [] args) throws NamingException {
        wsTest tt = new wsTest();
        tt.testIt();
    }I then create a connection as described in the docs.
    I now have a connections.xml as follows:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <References xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/jndi">
       <Reference name="CurrencyConvertor" className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.impl.WebServiceConnectionImpl" xmlns="">

          <RefAddresses>
             <XmlRefAddr addrType="WebServiceConnection">

                      </model>
                   </wsconnection>
                </Contents>
             </XmlRefAddr>
          </RefAddresses>So far so good.
    I then created a new jspx page with a button that calls a method in a request scoped bean.
    The method is supposed to use the connections.xml to get the web service proxy in order to call the web service.
    The bean code is as follows :
    package ch.mit.test;
    import javax.faces.event.ActionEvent;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.proxy.*;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.root.Currency;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.api.WebServiceConnection;
    import oracle.adf.share.ADFContext;
    public class test {
      public test() {
      public void testIt() throws NamingException {
        Context ctx;
        ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
        WebServiceConnection wsc;
        wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("CurrencyConvertor");
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = wsc.getJaxWSPort(CurrencyConvertor.class);   -- NPE here
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();
        Double res = currencyConvertorSoap.conversionRate(Currency.CHF, Currency.USD);
        System.out.println("Hello");
        System.out.println(res);
      public void testws(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
        try {
          testIt();
        } catch (NamingException e) {
    }When running the application and clicking on the button I keep getting the following error at the line marked NPE Here above:

    Hi everybody:
    I have a problem with a web service I am doing, I have made a web service that returns a collection of objects, the objects have a set of properties, there is one property that is a String,this property consists in a text fragment that could have some characters that are considered special in XML like &, <, >, " and that's why when I execute the service from a client an exception is thrown:

    Ariel

    Hi,
    BPEL and BPEL PM do not have a good support for SOAPENC-Array: it would be very difficult to create such an array in BPEL or to receive it and manipulate it.
    The (unfortunately very intrusive) work around is to change the WSDL of the service to use a XML type defined using XML schema. This is all the more painful that JDev 9.0.4 does not have strong support for complex types.
    In general though, I would highly recommend this best practice:
    1) Start by define the WSDL contract first
    2) Then generate the server side skeleton to implement it
    3) Use BPEL as the client to this contract.
    By starting with the contract first, you make sure that 1) your interfaces are clean and coarse grained.
    2) things like java objects, sessions, etc to not leak through the interface (which would be the worst thing that could happen because it would closely link the client and the server.
    Sorry for not being more helpful. This will get radically cleaner in Oracle AS 10.1.3.

  • Problem with web service for document template

    Hi, I am trying to set up a web service to use with a word template (I use the template designer). The problem is that when I press the 'Test Page' button in the web service tool, I get an error : "Error retrieving URL to Web service test page ...'. I have searched the forum and made sure that the correct J2EE hostname/port is being used, as well as making sure the user/ password is set for the service. I have no idea how to proceed, please help me!
    Best Regards Eva
    ps. I can press the WSDL button in the web service tool and the web page opens correctly displaying the xml. Also, I create the template with static text as well as the posts requested by the service and the word document opens displaying only the static text...

    Hello,
    Where have you made this setup. Is it in the WSADMIN or in the SOAMANAGER??

  • Calling web service in Offline adobe form

    Hi all,
    I have created webservice in backend system and have see it in SOA Manager. Have set the HTTP authentication as UserID/Password for the defiend service via SOA Manager.
    I am using the wsdl of the webservice created from "Open WSDL document from selected bindings" in NWDS and am able to create Data Connection properly. On the click of the button have written the below code in Click event :
    var cURL = "http://xyz:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_4D33AD4FE1183C0DE1000000AC122492/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=100";
    var service = SOAP.connect(cURL);
      xfa.host.messageBox("here4" + xfa.connectionSet.DataConnection.execute(0));
    Here after the button is clicked in the form, it just prints the message "here 4 false" but nothing happens in the backed. Ideally it should have added a new record in a database table.
    Can anyone let me know what could be ppossibly wrong in this and how can i debug my appplication it it is able to create connection with backend server.
    Regards,
    Namrata

    Hi Namrata,
    In SOAMANAGER, on clicking "Open WSDL document for selected binding", an XML document gets opened in the browser. Save the file as .wsdl file. Create data connection in Adobe form using this .wsdl file.
    On successful creation of new data connection, a 'DataConnection' folder gets created in the Data View of Adobe Lifecycle Designer. It will contain a request, response and a button to trigger the webservice.
    Do the corresponding data binding with the request and response fields and just drag and drop the button into the layout.
    At runtime, the webservice gets triggered on clicking this button.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanoosh

  • Binary data problem with web services on JRockit but not Sun JDK

    I have a problem with binary data in SOAP and JRockit
    (jrrt-3.0.0-1.6.0-linux-x64.bin) . I have an set of web services based
    on EJB 3.0 which return images as byte arrays inside a SOAP envelope
    to be consumed by .NET 2 services. The host app server is Oracle
    Application Server 10.3.1 on RHEL Linux update 4, on 64 bit Xeon 5500
    series HP blade hardware.
    While most images are fine most of the time, one particular image
    gives this message when being consumed in the .NET client:
    The '■' character, hexadecimal value 0x1F, cannot be included in a
    name. Line 2, position 380038.
    The MSDN suggests that this is usually caused by non-escaping of reserved XML characters like < but this isn't one of those.
    The SOAP looks ok and for the life of me I can't see why this ought to
    be a problem, especially since the problem doesn't arise running with
    the SUN JDK 1.6_06 64 bit)
    When making the same call from the OAS Enterprise Manager, I can make the same call with no problem (but the data is just rendered as character data in a browser) which maybe suggests some incompatibility with how JRockit is serializing the data ?
    Any ideas, I would be very happy to hear - JRockit gives a 15% or so
    speed boost to the website that these services power so obviously we
    want to use it if possible.

    Seems to be the case that using MTOM stops this problem with JRockit. Strange but apparently true (so far).

  • Problem with web service in sap hr

    Hi experts!
    Are there any differences between creating Web Service from Function Module in R/3 and in HR?
    I created different WS (from FM) in R/3 without problem .. now I'm creating one in HR (it's the first time I try to create a WS in HR) but I can't create it. I have this error: "Object Web Service already created" .. but there aren't any WS with the same name I'm using for the new WS.
    Anyone can hepl me?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Problem with Web Service Model code generation

    Hello,
    I'm importing two different web services into the same web dynpro component, which both contains properties "allGroup2" of type "All2".
    This causes some problems with the code generation, first of all the Model-classes can't be generated because they don't know which of the two All2-classes to use. If I fix that problem (which can be easily done by adding the correct import statement) I still can't use the models in my web dynpro component, since it too doesn't know which of the All2-classes to use.
    Even though I can fix this by adding imports and fixing the code, it of course gets regenerated next time I rebuild the project, and my changes are lost.
    Does anyone know how to solve this?

    Apparently this is a known bug which is fixed in SP15.

    I'm having problem testing webservices.
    After created and manteined the web services, when I try to TEST from WSADMIN -->Webservice HomePage

    Then If I click on the link:

    A pop up appead that ask me a user and pswd for the Web AS
    I have 2 different behaviour If I use J2EE_ADMIN or other user.
    With J2EE_ADMIN I receive this error:
    Your request could not be processed
    SRT: ASSERT failed: object reference not bound
    What has happened?
    A Soap Core Exception was raised in Method  CL_SOAP_REGISTRY::generate_wsdl(6)

    Contact your system administrator and show him the technical details above.
    If I use another user I'm redirected to a XML page.

  • Problems with Web Services in Visual Studio

    (Cross-posted from WAS forums)
    I'm using VB.NET to access SAP BAPI's via web services from a 4.7 system. This works really well (and in my view is simpler than the .Net connector) until I try and add a Web reference to a SAP web service that returns a BAPIRET2 structure - as soon as I add the reference, I get a load of "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference" errors - one for each line in the BAPIRET2 definition that VS automatically adds.
    Specific Example (guess who's been using OSS too long!):
    1. Browse the R/3 Web Service Repository at:
    http://yourmachinename:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/WebServiceBrowser/search.html
    2. Search for BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL, click the small "wsdl" link.
    3. Copy the resulting URL, in VS add a web reference and type the necessary security details
    4. Immediately in the task list 15 build errors show - one for each line of the BAPIRET2 definition.
    Would be very grateful for any help on this!
    Thanks

    Did you ever get this figured out?  I am having exactly the same problem in code generated by VS, with the BAPIRET2 structure.
    Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with Web services client

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to build a Web Service Client with netbeans 6.5. I add the Web Service Refefrences by clicking right on my project/new/Web Service Client and giving it the url of the wsdl or the wsdl file itself. All work well, I use the web service without problems but then, after several successful try I don't know why, I get this kind of exception:
    Exception in thread "main" javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: class net.stuff.webservice.webservices.Upload do not have a property of the name {www.stuff.net/WebService/WebServices}uploadReq
    I precise I don't modify the code that call the web service.
    To make it work again, I have to Clean & Build several time the project and/or Refresh tjh WebClient Reference, gain, without modifying the code.
    The Web Service producer runs on .net and doesn't seems to "move".
    Have you ever see this issue?
    Maybe this could help: I'm using JDK 5 with JAXB-WB
    Thanks

    Hello Eric:
    I have the same problem... but he Clean & Build thing didn't work :(...
    To make it work I call the Web Service from a java application and include the java application's jar in the libraries of the java web application.

  • Problem with Web Service Deployment

    Ugh...today is not a good day.  Has anyone seen something similar to this error when deploying web services?
    List Folder in Recursive File List.vi->NI Web Service Debug.lvlib:Zip Static Docs.vi->NI Web Service Debug.lvlibtart_WS_RTDebug.vi->NI Web Service Debug.lvlibtart_WS_RTDebug.vi.ProxyCaller<APPEND>
    C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-18
    This is totally preventing deployment and I can't decipher where to start with fixing this.
    Thanks, Matt

    Thanks, Mike.  What I ended up doing was destroying the existing Web Service and rebuilding the service.  And this worked (obviously).
    But the fact remains that there was no obvious way to recover from this.  I had initially tried to just delete the Public folder from the project and then re-add it, but to no avail.  The message was cryptic (as all deployment error messages tend to be) and exposed some black magic going on in the background (I have no idea where the List Folder Recursive File List.vi or any of those objects in the message come in - they are not called directly by me nor are they in the dependencies).  Without a clear description from NI of what is happening when you deploy a service such as this, I fear that there is no way to address the problem in a timely manner (I don't want to work on something for hours on end that worked and then with one click seemingly didn't work).
    But, this tends to be the way things go with large RT projects....
    Cheers, Matt

  • Problems with Image Field Table in Adobe Forms

    Hello,
    I have a desgined a Adobe Form(Print Only) in the Adobe Desinger in NWDS.
    The form layout contains a table of images in 2 columns and 3 rows. Every Column has a Image Field and a TextField displaying the Image URL.
    The URL of this image is passed at runtime.
    The problem is that when the form is rendered, All the Columns have the same image which is the URL in the first row first column. However the text field displays the correct URL.
    Is this some known bug in the Adobe Forms, or I am missing some property.
    Regards,
    Shubham

    Hi,
    The solution was to put the following code in the initialize event of the image field.
    this.value.image.href = <Photoimagepath>.rawValue;
    Where <Photoimagepath> is the image path.
    Regards,
    Shubham
