Problem with webmail

Hi All,
I have just installed filemaker server on a mail server. now when a user logs into webmail they get this on the login page, then will not display any mail once signed in
Notice: Use of undefined constant SERVER_NAME - assumed 'SERVER_NAME' in /private/etc/squirrelmail/config/config.php on line 118

Notice: Use of undefined constant detect - assumed 'detect' in /private/etc/squirrelmail/config/config.php on line 1057

Check /etc/apache2/httpd.conf (or /etc/httpd/httpd.conf if you use apache 1.3) and disable (comment out) the PHP module installed by Filemaker and re-enable the original one). This is assuming Filemaker does not overwrite the original PHP version.
Should the original have been overwritten, try and install the latest combo updater followed by security updates. I believe it contained a PHP update. This should bring you back to where you were. You may still need to edit httpd.conf.
If later you re-install Filemaker Server, make sure you do not let it install it's own version of PHP and install only its API instead.

  • Problems with webmail on godaddy?

    I just bought a MacMini in March and have been using godaddy.com webmail because I have a business web site there. I could not get to my email on-line kept telling me the server was not found. So, I called Godaddy, not problem with servers. Then called comcast and reset all of my Safari which is up to date. I had just recently repaired permissions. Still hangs the web mail but then it opens up, then it does not work. All other sites I go to work! Then, I just went back to permissions. Verified and saw I needed to repair a bunch of permissions! What is that all about?? Not sure why my webmail is not responding very quickly. I think it might have something to do with permissions when I did that recently?

    From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
    Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

  • Problems with webmail

    Hello,
    Since ( i think ) the last update 10.5.5 my girlfriend cannot send mails with her Webmail. it doesn't matter i've she is using Safari, Firefox or Opera. Recieving mails is no problem. Everything works fine exept sending a mail. It looks normal if she is sending one but nobody recievs her mail anymore. If she's logs in from an other computer ( Mac or Windows ) everthing is working perfect.
    Is there some one having an solution? Thanks.

    Try having her empty the Safari cache. Although you said it didn't work on another browser either, this seems odd.
    However, I just had a problem with a web app that I had never logged into before, and it didn't work on either Firefox or Safari. They suggested I empty the cache (actually, they told me to clear the cache in Internet Explorer), and I scoffed. But, after emptying the Safari Cache, it worked. I still think it was a coincidence, and something on their end was reset.

  • CE 565 - Problem with webmail

    Has anyone had a problem getting their content engine to cache Yahoo mail, Hotmail, etc.. My CE is fully caching everything, but after authenticating to these webmail sites, clicking on the inbox link results in a blank page. Any ideas anyone? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    following are my answers to your questions.
    1) yes if there is HTTPS you have to enable it.
    2) okay
    3) hmm is there realy nothing mentioned? because there needs to be a HTTP connect because other wise an error-message would be displayed
    4) Could you upload the sniffer trace taken infront and behind the CE so that we can have a look at it?
    In terms of your last question I think more or less every webmailer is using more or less the same technique. HTTP or https for send data to the customer. May be there are slight difference in terms of cookies, java, jsp, php, asp but that shouldn't be a problem.
    Btw does the webmail page work with your testPC if you access it directly without having the CE in the game?
    Kind Regards,
    Joerg

  • Problem with opening of PDF in my webmail application

    I have a problem with opening a pdf file in my webmail application of my internet provider in apple safari since yesterday. When I wanted to open up a pdf file I got a pop up message to allow a connection between adobe and the webmail application which I did. Since then I can not open up a pdf file. If I go to another browser or if I use email from another internet provider I use too it works and I can open up. It seems to be a blockage of the specific combination of this webmail application and safari.
    What can I do ?

    Hi,
    I have same requirement.
    I need to cnvert smartform->pdf->send mail.
    The mail is send but the attachment is corrupted.
    Can you tell me what code you have written so its working in developement?

  • I have a problem with my Webmail, and Blackberry Tour

    The Situation I have with my blackberry Tour and my Webmail is that whenever my ATT Yahoo Webmail receives emails, it displays it as opened automatically. I turned off the Email Reconcilication for the Wireless Reconcile, and thought that would solve the problem but it still would display as opened on the ATT Yahoo Webmail. But when I changed the password on the Webmail, it no longered displayed it as opened when it is received until I re-fixed the connection with my Blackberry Tour by changing it to the modified password.  Also this problem did not come up when I was using Yahoo Webmail but only when I moved from Yahoo Webmail to ATT Yahoo Webmail only. I have posted the problem to ATT Yahoo Webmail already but I am posting one here, just in case if it is a problem with blackberry Tour.
    Thank You

    Why can't emails be sent?  Is there an error?
    Might also have better luck, if you truly believe the "server" needs to be changed, asking AOL what it should be set to.

  • Mail problems with Panther

    I'm having difficulties downloading email into my client mail on my IMac. (I use Macmail, through BTinternet, an outside ISP. (Not Mac) The problem arose when I recently sent out a round robin email to a large number of hotels in Italy enquiring about accommodation - it's clear from my webmail account that dozens of them replied with quite large emails, brochuires etc etc etc. When I try to download these into my inbox, the spinning icon continues to spin round before telling me that Port 110 or something cannot accept or send emails or that my mail account has timed out. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. There is no problem with the interent connection, only mail

    I just read what you wrote. So you are talking about Mail. All right. Can you see how big the inbox is in Mail - that is reported at the top of its window. I am asking this to see if you have an overfull inbox, which can cause problems.

  • There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. Error code 18 and 38.

    Hi All,
    After several hours and a short night of sleep I'm out of ideas and hopefully someone here can help me trying to solve this one. First of all the situation:
    Exchange 2013 on a remote location with a CA-certificate.
    Outlook 2010 and 2013 on different locations, locally installed and on RDS.
    When I open Outlook on my laptop all is fine, no errors, good sync, no problem. But when I open Outlook on our Remote Desktop Servers with Outlook 2013 I'm getting errors like "There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. The
    name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site. Outlook is unable to connect to this server. (Error code 18)". Opening Outlook 2010 the message is the same, but the error code now is 38.
    After this Outlook opens and is working, there's one more error though. After a while an security warning pops up with the message: "Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the
    site's security certificate. * The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust. View the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority. * The security certificate is valid. * The name on the security
    certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."
    Strangest thing is, it is the certificate of my RDS! It isn't my valid en officially bought certificate from my mailserver. What's going on? I'm out of options, what I've tried so far (in random order):
    - restarting mailserver and AD;
    - restarting switches;
    - restarting routers;
    - restarting RDS, AD and all other servers;
    - bypassed proxyserver for RDS;
    - created a new profile;
    - checked recently installed updates;
    - checked certificate on mailserver;
    - checked RDS on a different location, working fine.
    Nothing helped, what can I do next? Please advice.
    Regards.

    Found a thread that solves half my problem (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/70d18244-889a-4d95-ac3f-e234672a82b2/there-is-a-problem-with-the-proxy-servers-security-certificate-error-when-starting-outlook?forum=exchangesvrclients).
    The first message can be suppressed by adding this to the Exchange config:
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXCH -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXPR -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    Giving the command get-outlookprovider, gives me empty information regarding the certprinipalname. Filled
    this and after recreating the profile or deleting the ost-file I still have the second alert with the local certificate of my RDS.
    Not completely where I want to be, any help regarding the second alert is greatly appreciated!

  • Can't get into talk talk email account in Mozilla, you have undefined new mails in your inbox message. No problem with Internet Explorer though

    I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

    Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
    You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: [http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=185113#post2452787 Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums].
    Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
    Does it work?

  • Is Apple doing anything to fix the problem with displaylink in Mavericks?

    I have been doing the Beta track for several years.  Apple has been fairly good about ironing out the bugs before a release (as compared to Microsuck and other OS alternatives).  But this problem with DisplayLink and Mavericks is about to kill me.  I've been running multiple displays for several years and never had problems with prior OSX versions.  My work computer (Macbook Pro) is still running Lion and works perfectly with DisplayLink and two 27" Samsung HD monitors.  I would really love to get back to using the monitor setup with my Dev environment, however I can't even get a 2013 model Mavericks Macbook Pro to recognize that the DisplayLink device (IBM USB3.0 dock) is connected.
    Once or twice I've gotten one monitor to show up after using the computer for a random amount of time.  On that occasion, suddenly the main screen blinked and the second monitor came to life.  I was reading webmail with Safari at the time and no other apps were running or had been started when it happened.  This sort of thing isn't what I would classify as release-ready.
    Every seed announcement I keep hoping for a fix, but after 3 since the Mav release, I'm beginning to lose hope.  Anyone have info on how this might be made to work?
    Thanks
    David

    DisplayLink also points fingers at Apple, which may be completely valid, but expecting Apple to put much effort into problems that only affect third-party hardware using an unsupported interface seems a bit of wishful thinking.
    However, rumor sites indicate a focus on graphics in the next update : http://www.macrumors.com/2014/03/06/apple-seeds-first-os-x-10-9-3-build-to-devel opers/

  • List of Problems with new Web Mail

    List of Problems with NEW Web Mail :
    - At first doesn't open full page message list or retain full page as default setting, have to drag down bar
    - Only shows 20 message lines after “pulling down” the divider, screen partially empty until I scroll down.  It should show at least 26, preferably all available
    - After moving bar, bar moves back up after going back to inbox (not delete message) after reading a message, have to move it down again, and again...
    - Doesn't go to next message when delete message on screen is selected, no setting option for default to do this.
    - There is a drop down to select which folder to move a selected email to.  The initial display shows 7 usable choices, with the usual slider and arrow to show more choices.  The space on the slider clearly shows more choices are present (actually about 20 or so are there), but any attempt to use the slider or arrow to see more choices causes the drop-down to instantly disappear.  I can't move the selected field with arrow keys either.  I can select any of the visible 7 choices, and move an email to only one of the 7.  NOTE: This one works in both IE and Firefox, but if Verizon Webmail was fully web standard (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_standards) compliant it would also work in my preferred browser, Mozilla Seamonkey, the direct descendant of the original Mozilla browser.  Webmail should be FULLY web standard.
    - Occasionally a message will move from inbox to trash, without NO indication or command to move them.
    - Emails occasionally flash an error message and simply disappear - not to trash or other findable place, just disappear.  No time to read the error message either.
    - No way to set a whitelist for supposed spam emails, unless the whitelist for “Blocking” is the same.  Very unclear.
    - How can I switch my service back to the original, basic, email which works ok?  I know it’s still there, since some of my other accounts still access it!!!
    This seems my only way of getting this info direclty to the programming staff.  If it doesn't actually do this, will SOMEONE PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO THEM !?!
    Thanks!

    Contrarily, it is Verizon's, as well as other companies like Verizon whose customer base uses a wide variety of web browsers, web page designers' responsibility to use only standard W3C-recognized code and not to use non-standard non-W3C-recognized code, e.g., Microsoft's Internet Explorer specific code, when designing their web pages. In my opinion based on my observations, Verizon's web page designers are too often guilty of using IE-specific code.

  • Problems with certain mail attachments after moving them to a different folder in Mail

    I am using Mac Mail as my default email client, and every once in a while when I move a message with an attachment from one folder to another (for example from my Inbox to my Personal folder) in Mail, the attachment will no longer show up, but rather an infinite set of characters.
    I know it's a problem with my local Mac Mail client, since:
    I can see the attachments perfectly in my webmail
    I can see the attachments perfectly in my other Mac's Mail client, as well as on my iPhone and iPad.

    Get info on the drive.  What format?  FAT drives may be behave erratically for heavy-duty use of the kind you are doing. It's okay to leave a flash drive FAT formatted for light use but for heavy-duty file transfer I think you can encounter issues.
    iTunes does not look at files directly.  It maintains a database (library.itl) of the files in its collection.  When you play a track it looks up where that file is located and goes and plays the file in that location.  If you manually move a file or folder used by iTunes that database is no longer correct and you get broken links ( ! ).  If you want to move files or folders with iTunes you have to let iTunes do it.  Since iTunes is organizing your library there isn't much flexibility in what you can do other than move the whole collection to a different folder by changing the media location preference in preferences.

  • Problem opening webmail mail on touch 1g

    I have no problem signing into my school's webmail on my touch 1g using Safari. I can see the mail headers in my inbox and open other folders on the server. I also can compose and send mail. But I am unable to open mail. When I touch a mail header, it is underlined, but that is all. It fails to open. So I am unable to read my mail. I have no problem like this with webmail on my iMac over the same network. Any suggestions?

    It's very strange. No, I haven't noticed any issues with other HTTPS sites. Yahoo mail is the only thing I've had a problem with since the upgrade to FF 30, and even that works fine in other browsers. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Is there a problem with .mac mail?

    I have been unable to access my .mac mail since earlier last evening using both the Mail application or via webmail. When attempting to check mail from the Mail application I get the password rejected prompt and re-enter my password. This does nothing other than re-prompt me to enter my password again.
    I can log into .mac, but when I attempt to check mail I get:
    http://www.mac.com/wm/unavailable/
    This page has been coming up for me all night and all morning. I have reset my password, still nothing.
    I have tried using two different Macs, one i Book G4 running 10.3.9 and a iMac G4 using 10.4.6. I have tried using two different ISPs. No luck.
    The dotmac support website claims nothing is wrong with the system. And yet, clearly something is amiss. Any ideas anyone?

    Yes, this happened at home and my office. I have tried both Airport and direct ethernet connection at home and my connection at work is via ethernet. The work computer is running Tiger; the home computer is on Panther. The work computer connects through a university ISP; home computer via Road Runner (Time Warner cable). The work computer had not been touched in about a week before this morning and worked fine a week ago. All I have done on the home computer is download the most recent security update. I have had no problem with either computer at either location subsequent to last evening. So basically I had email access yesterday at approximately 2 PM then I cam home approximately 8 PM and have subsequently been unable to access mail from either computer since then. No settings were manually changed on either computer during that period, I didn't change anything about my connections to the internet on either computer, etc. My .mac account is paid through March of next year, so I can rule out the old forgot to pay the bill business. I am totally perplexed.

  • Problems with the web based email page and Windows...

    We've just upgraded our PC to Windows 8 and I've read the bit on the Help page which says that Yahoo Mail is not compatible with Windows 8 and that we need to access our email via the webpage. Fair enough - though why Yahoo mail still won't work with Windows 8, which after all isn't that new is another matter.
    Our problem is that when we access our email via the www.bt.com webpage we have the following problems:
    It seems to be very slow
    When you click on the first unopened email in the list to open it, it usually opens one further down the list. You can get it to open the one you want if you tick the box next to it first, but that wasn't what you needed to do previously.
    When you try andreply to an email and start typing, your text appears in one place while the curser is actually somewhere else. If you make a mistake when typing and try and go back it doesn't work well.
    I tried getting help via a Live Chat with someone but she directed me back to the page I'd already seen saying BT Yahoo Mail and Windows 8 can't talk to each other and you need to access emails via the webpage.
    Has anyone else had the same problem? Any answers?
    Thanks - Kiwirob199

    Go to Solution.

    Just install an email client such as Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail, much easier than messing about with webmail.
