Problem with "Who-is-who"-iView

Hi,
I wanted to integrate the "Who-is-who"-iView as it is described in SAPHelp (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/21/ac21410bc3ef23e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">Configuration of the Whos Who iView</a>).
But it doesnu00B4t work. In the ume\users repository there is a list of all users but the file size of each user is 0 bytes. When I click on a user name I get the following error: "Item not found
The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible."
And the indexing monitor shows for the ume-index: "2 IN PROCESS, 240 ERRORS".
We have SAP Portal 6.0.13.0 (KM is the same version SPS13).

I think you can solve the problem using the instructions from SAP note 880646.
We encountered the same problem, and as I recall it is caused by the installation/upgrade of SPS13 (which is buggy).

Problems with the "my tasks" iView

Hello,
we use the EP 6 SP 09.
I have problems with the "my tasks" iView (com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui.uwl). The first problem is, that the user get no e-mail if anybody give him a task (Options: Notification = Notify on Updates, Completion ...). The next problem I have is, if a user (without admin rights) click on the button "Personalize" he get an empty window. But a user with admin rights get the window with the "Personalize" view.
Can anybody help me? Where are the possibility to customizing?

hi,
The personalization tray is only visible if the iView tray is visible.So make sure that iView tray is visible.

Problem with who's who service in portal

Hi Experts,
I have created the SAP_R3_HumanResources and SAP_R3_HumanResources_Metadata Jco destinationations and the Test connection was successful.
I have created the system alias SAP_R3_HumanResources in the portal and connection for this also successful.
When i click on the who's who iview in portal i.e Content Admin--> Content provided by SAP -->End user content--> Employee Self Services -->iviews-->Employee Search -->Who's who i am getting the same exception like before
Can you please help me what else i need to check??

I have the problem with the service "absence management".
This service needs the following JCos:
SAP_R3_HumanResources and
SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData.
This JCos were already there but I had to change them. The HR backend was moved to an external provider and therefore we could´nt use SSO anymore. So I have put a technical user like your EP_ADMIN in both JCos and both are working in test mode.
But the problem is then that the service runs with the technical user and not with the portal user!!!
And yes, all our portal users are mapped to the personal number in transaction PA30.

Syncronization problems with Who is Who ivew

Hello
after changing user data (telephone,etc...) in LDAP (Microsfot ADS), it takes a long time After I see the data in Who is Who ivew.
I have create a index (ume index) as described SAP Documentacion.
Any body knows how can I solve this problem¿?¿
I would like syncronization between LDAP data and iview Who is who each 15 minutes iexample.

Hi Noemi,
the Who-is-Who iView uses TREX search functionality. Basically, TREX first crawls all specified files and stores the (indexed) results in the data base. The Who-is-Who iView works on the indexed data stored in database. To synchronize you LDAP and Who is WHo iView you have to re-index the data. You can do this manually in the Index Administration (System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration).
To change the period of time between index cycles you can define a schedule for your index. But be aware reindexing is pretty resource consuming.

I am facing a problem with javascript when i am trying to access my application through URL iView. In the javascript window.top is used to access the frames in the window. But the EP is not recognizing it as valid. what exctly the problem and please suggest me a solution.

thanks for the quick reply. But what i asked was different. I will put it in different way. I have deployed a application in Web Application Server and trying to access it through URL iView. My application is pure J2EE application with html,jsp and JS files. In javascript we used window.top property of the java script which is working fine MS IE. The problem is window.top is a IE specific property which is not having any equallent open standerd so EP is throwing a java script error. As I know the only possible solution for this problem is inherating IE rendaring capabilities to iView(i.e iFrame). is there any way to do that?

Problem with small text in iview header

hi,
i got a little problem with iView header.
I've set 2 pages containing the same iViews. The 2 pages have layout (1 column full width -- standard) and the 2 pages have the same properties, themes.
The problem is that in the first page the header text is very small and in the second one the header text display correctly.
Have anyone had this problem and how did you solve it ?

I don't have a straight answer but:
1. Have you tried creating a copy of the page which is working correctly?
2. Why do you need two pages with the same content? Personally, I can't see any reason for maintaining two identical objects.

Firefox 2.0 - Problems with Webdynpro and HTML iviews

Hello all,
We have implemented the SAP Netweaver portal 7.0 SP 10. Everything works fine on IE 6.0 and 7.0. When we tested it on Firefox 2.0, we encountered the following problems:
1. The links on the detailed navigation area are missing
2. Web Dynpro applications dont work very well. Eg: Clicking on "Next" button does not take you to the next view, OVS does not work etc.
3. SAP transaction iViews(HTML) don't show up at all.
Although the <a href="https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001936242005E#391,7,SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Browser Support For End Users and Admin Functionality">PAM</a> indicates that Firefox 2.0 is supported for Webdynpro and HTML iviews, I am not sure why this is happening. Can someone help?

Problem with discussion group contributors iview

Hi,
I have created a discussion group contributors iview and fill all the parameters (name, id, layoutset=DiscussionGroupsContributor, path to folders). But if I display the iview in the portal a can create a discussion groups and discussions but i can not display them and reply to them(the name of the discussion is text-it should be a link). Do anyone know where could be the problem?

You can create KM Discussion iView and use, not discussion group contributors iview . KM Discussion iView show is all informations.

Problem With the BI reports iviews in EHP 1.0 for Maintenance

Hi All,
We are using EHP1.0. In the portal for BI report i have to make visible/Invisible the BI report iview According to user.
Is it possible to remove all the active queries except the ones relating to notifications from the maintenance Tasks Iview? Could you provide a step by step please?
In the Reports section and the Service Map section, there are many BI reports but the customer does not have BI.
1) How to hide these reports Iview by changing the launchpad ?
2) is it possible to do this globally so all users do not see these?
Kindly help me with your valuble suggestion or document related to that issue.

Why this behaviour. Why the "Classpath" entry should
not be the last line in the manifest file.
That is a question for the people at Sun. The behaviour is not specific to Class-Path. The last line of the Manifest is not read unless it ends with a newline.

Problem with discussion group contributor iview

HI,
i created an iview based on "km discussion groups" iview, and changed the default layoutset "DiscussionGroupsContributor" to "myDiscussionGroupsContributor" and removed few command groups in them. so now the end user opens the discussion group through this iview, and when he clicks on one discussion item, it opens a workarea in which he can reply, subscribe to post etc...
at the top, we see a "back button", which will take back to the discussion groups overview screen, but i see all the command groups that i removed, i.e. it is using "DiscussionGroupsContributor" instead of "myDiscussionGroupsContributor" when i click on back button.
any ideas please?

It's always nice to hear when I could be of help when one is trying to solve a problem. You would make me even happier if you would say "Thanks" the SDN-way by using the coloured stars.
But first of all, I would like to let you know how the above UI Command is integrated in the LayoutSet. As you correctly said, it's important to work upgrade safe, and therefore not to change the SAP standard "SingleDiscBackContributor" UI Command, but to duplicate it under your own name.
The LayoutSet "SingleDiscExplorerContributor" references the CollectionListRenderer "SingleDiscHeaderCollectionRendererContributor". This CollectionListRenderer has an attribute "Components" which include the entry "SingleDiscHeaderTitleComponentContributor". If you go to "KM Configuration -> User Interface -> (Show Advanced Options) -> Mapping -> Component" you can search for this Component and see the attribute "Parameters" is set to "SingleDiscUIBackCommandAlias=SingleDiscBackContributor".
So the Component implementation is the one which allows the integration of such "Back" (or sometimes "Edit", etc.) Buttons (UI commands).
To be upgrade safe, you need to duplicate all bold marked KM configuration objects under your own name (my...).

PS: How do I know? I work quite some years now as SAP EP Consultant specialized on KM, and it seems like I was able to gather up some knowledge on this special area
But honestly speaking, I figured this out myself without a special documentation, when I created a new "application" for saving contact data in KM similar to the Collaboration Room Part SAP Contacts. I later presented this on a SDN event and also wrote a <a href="https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/2349">Weblog</a> about it.
But actually, I also know about a How To Guide for Customizing Discussion LayoutSet but I'm afraid it's not released yet. I will ask the responsible person from SAP, maybe he can write in this thread what the release plans for this guide are.

Whos Who iview Search

Hi All,
We have a problem with "Whos Who" iview Search option.
It is not searching the users when searched with firstname/lastname/userid and shows message as "No matches have been found". It has worked earlier. Now, Its not working.
But, when I search same users along with "*" character, it displays the corresponding results.
What could be the reason.

Problem with DiscussionGroups iView

Hello Yogi/Robert,
I have a problem with my discussion groups iview.
I am using the discussion groups iView, and layout set is DiscussionGroupsContributor. The iView is using the /discussiongroup folder to store the discussions created.
Here's the problem: all the discussions created are stored in the same folder, and every new room created is able to view the same discussions.
I want to be able to restrict discussions to different rooms, so that members of one room cannot view/read the discussions from another room.
Please,how can I get this done...it is very urgent!!!

Hi Collins,
have a look on how the room template "SAP_Standard_Template_2 (Read only)" is configured and configure your template in the same way.
You need two Room Extensions, one for the DiscussionPermission and the second for Discussion Persistency. In the second a preconfigured room extension CM store is used (here cmDocuments with the label "Documents"). The output parameter "discussion_path" is mapped on the Path parameter of the RoomDiscussion iView on the RoomDiscussion Page.
So the sentence "For data for discussion groups inside rooms, the system determines the path to the storage folder automatically." is only correct if you work with room extensions as mentioned above.

Who is Who iView: Problem with sorting

Hi out there,
I have the following problem: I would like to have the
Search result generated by the Who is Who iView sorted
by two properties, that is first by ume:lastname and
second by ume:firstname.
The search result will be sorted if I add ume:lastname in
the "Search Result Sort Property" parameter within the iView.
The question is: How to provide the second sort property?
Any hint is highly appreciated

But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
