Problem with work repository

Hi,
If someone could help me, it would me much appreciated.
So, I currently have an Oracle DB I'm using has my work repository and I'm currently working on ODI (so the DB is working fine). But when I try to run an interface one time out of two, sometimes out of three, my interface will successfully run and everything's fine. The other times I get this error message :
java.lang.Exception: Error during Session launching : Error during Session Preparation : Oracle Data Integrator Timeout: connection with URL jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.1.113:1521:ODI and user sys as sysdba.

Would someone know why I have those timeouts? We are maximum 2 people connecting to the server running the DB and the other person is not touching my DB, so I don't think the DB has a problem.
I tried using the local agent, and also by using an agent but still have the same result.
ODI works fine, but those timeouts are annoying and don't make sense for a product that should go into production.
So, thanks for reading my message. If you can help, thanks for giving a shot at helping me.
Cheers

Hi Georges,
So you mean to say that you have problem when connecting to your Repository and also when connecting to other DBS
IS there and max pool settings for your DB ?
What is your connection time settings (in ODI)?
Designer-> File -> User Parameters -> Oracle Data Integrator Timeout.
Please try increasing the timeout values for
DEFAULT_REPOSITORY_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT, Oracle Data Integrator Timeout
from the file userpref.xml (oracledi/bin/userpref.xml)
Restart the ODI.
Note : (please take a backup of this file before editing.)

    Hi Kiran,
    your XI J2EE engine is not properly initialized so you are not able to open IR....
    just ask your Basis guys to see the startup log of your J2EE engine....if it has some errors, then just restart your J2EE engine.....then your this problem will be resolved....
    also see in  SMICM, whether ICM status is green or not..if not green then restart ICM from Administration->ICM monitor->restart->yes option of your XI server..
    when XI restarts, just enquire from basis guys whether J2EE engine is up and running..... then open IR.....then your XI IR will open........
    Thanks,

  • Siri has problems with work

    I've been using Siri to create reminders. She won't remind me when I leave work. She knows where work is and can quote me the address.
    She recognizes my word "leaving work" or "when I leave work" because the text matches what I say.
    But she only goes into to her speech about "I can remind you when you arrive or leave..." and around we go again. She will remind me "when I get home" or other standard locations. But anything to do with "work" goes back into the cycle. Any suggestions on what's happening?
    A second question, is there any way to define other locations? For example, we use mostly one grocery. Can I define a location to be a grocery store and have her remind me at that location?
    thanks for your help.
    ...Doug

    Strange indeed!
    And the story got stranger when my wife's iphone would recognize my work place.
    The problem is solved though... typo. A very small typo. Now everything works as expected.
    The way i diagnosed the problem was through the map function. I could ask Siri for my house or other locations and get a map. When I asked her to show me WORK i got no such address.
    The confusion was when I asked her what my work address was. Siri shows the whole address record, including home address. Since Siri doesn't need to look at the location, no error generated.
    Problem solved. Have a great week, and thanks to those that replied.

    You appear to be trying to remove the same object twice, first in the KillDuck function and then in the ducksmove function.  If it is removed already you can't try to remove it again because it is no longer in the display list.

  • Problem with CM repository manager in FSDB mode

    Hi all,
    I have configured a CM repository in FSDB mode.The file system which is configured in the CM repository manager is on a network and not on the Portal Server. The problem that I am facing is as follows -
    1. When i create the file manually in the file system , the file does not appear in the KM Content.
    2. When i create the file from KM, it's created in the file server and now the previously create files in 1, are also visible.
    3. When I delete the file from the fle server , I am still able to see the file name in KM content, but when I click on it it says resource not found.
    I tried everying from clearing the cache to having no cache entries, but nothing seems to work.
    Please help, I am really stuck with this.
    Will definitely reward points for helpfull answers.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vivek

    You might have a look at
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e3/92322ab24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">this documentation</a>.
    The CM repository in mode FSDB keeps the namespace structure of the repository in the database just as it does in the other modes. Any change is done parallel in the file system and in the internal database.
    Since we have mode FSDB and the file system might change at any time by external processes, there is a component called synchronizer that checks with every lookup if the file system and the internal structure are still in sync. To determine this it looks at the modification date for folders and at modification date and size for plain files.
    If any of these do not match then the synchronizer overwrites and modifies the internal data to reflect again the status of the external file system.
    Now in your portal the synchronizer itself is working OK. That's because your repositories run fine locally.
    With your remote file systems I can think of some possible explanations.
    The caches might deliver responses after immediate file system changes. We ruled out this one already.
    The synchronizer might not recognize the changes in the file system's meta data. This is why I'd like you to try and compare the behaviour of the file system repository, see above.
    The synchonizer might run into some error when it tries to access the remote file system. This should be visible in the logs.

  • Problem with working in Flash Builder 4

    Hi there,
    I am working on the develepment of a new kind of website in 3D.
    For this I am using Flash Builder 4 AS3 Project and the 3D program Away3D.
    The problem is that I created a SWF in one AS3 project called PoloSWF.
    In another project I created a plane with the SWF as material.
    For this I copied PoloSWF from the original bin release directory and pasted it in the assets folder of the plane project.
    When running the plane project, the SWF is not visible.
    Any idea where the bug is?

    I tried it in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. I was able to get the Akamai download manager but that was all I could download. Currently with firefox the download is stuck at waiting and will not continue any further.

  • 7410 All in one printer problems with working all of a sudden.

    My printer seems to have disappeared from my printer list. I have removed the software and re-installed, it sees the printer but nothing shows up in the printer list like it used to. I have set it on a static IP on a wired network. I started running the HP tech assistant and it failed on the Windows item 3rd in the list. The first 2 items passed. It said to power cycle both printer and computer. Did that and same error again. I can't re-run that thing right now but it starts doing things with the scanner when I try to run its fix part of the program and that is where the error comes in. I can't scan, print or fax from the computer any more. I have other computers here and the software works on them so it is something within this machine. Only software added was PC Speedup from the web. Seems to match that time frame when it was put in. It resolved other problems I was having but seems to have screwed up the HP software.
    When I try to re-install the software file (latest from the web site) it sees the printer IP, asks if it is the one I want to install which I answer yes to and it goes on its marry way finishing the installation but nothing shows in the printer list after it is done or after it is rebooted.
    Any ideas on what to do next?
    Don.

    Hello dh-agi,
    It sounds like that PC Speedup certainly messed something up (probably in the registry). You may have to do a system restore to a point in time before you did so.
    However, before you do that, I recommend 'scrubbing' the existing printer installation(s) and starting 'fresh'. To do this, follow the instructions below:
    If you are installing from Original installation CD:
    1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
    2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the L4uninstall (unless you have an HP PC, then run L3uninstall)
    6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player using the link below
    Adobe Flash Player
    9. Download the latest full feature software and drivers using the link below
    http://goo.gl/q2hE0
    10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
    If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
    1. Hold the Windows key + r key, type %temp% in the run field, then hit Enter
    2. Look for, and open a folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the L4uninstall (unless you have an HP PC, then run L3uninstall)
    6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    7. Run Disk cleanup from Windows System Tools
    8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player using the link below
    Adobe Flash Player
    9. Download the latest full feature software and drivers using the link below
    http://goo.gl/q2hE0
    10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
    If I have helped in any way, just click the Kudos star on the left. Also, if your issue has been resolved, don't forget to select Accept as Solution

    Hello!
    I have a problem when I want to open saved repository in Administration Tool.
    I've saved uncompleted repository (without Presentation Layer) in offline mode (BI Server was stopped all the time) and then I've closed A. Tool.
    BI Server was stopped all the time.
    And now when I want to open my saved repository in offline mode, A. Tool asked me password of user Administrator. I typed password but logon failed. I am sure that password is correct because when I try to open another repositoy with the same user and password, repository will open.
    What can I do to open my repository?
    Thnx!

    What can I do to open my repository?Type the correct Administrator password. Otherwise try with another RPD user which is also memger of the Administrators group.

  • Problem with installing Repository 6i

    Getting error trying to install an instance of Repository 6i(release 4) on a 9i database. 'ERROR You do not have select privilege on sys.V_$PARAMETERS view. This process cannot continue'(No error#)
    To my knowledge there is no sys.V_$PARAMETERS view - only a sys.V_$PARAMETER view. I have select on this and all the other check requirements, system and object privileges, have been met.

    I did exactly as you stated and have verified, through sql*plus, that the repowner can select from the sys.v_$parameters synonym for sys.v_$parameter. The same error message still occurs. Does this product work with 9i??

  • Problem with the Repository service

    Hi friends,
    In my info admin console web page among the repository service and the integration service, i can see the health of the two services as up.
    But when i clicked my repository service individually it showed like
    The powercenter repository service is available
    But it also showed the below error along with the above line like
    the following error occurred while performing a repository action. Error - [pcsf_1007] cannot connect to repository[oracle_BI_DW_Base] because \n[[rep_57071] unable to connect to the repository database. Please check repository agent configuration. Failed to connect to repository service [Oracle_BI_DW_Base].]
    But my integration service is up and fine.
    Since due to the above error, i couldnt connect with any of my info clients(as repository seems to be down from the above error message)
    But my informatica service is up.
    Im not sure with this problem, but i remember that my DBA's has overwritten with some snapshots on the DB(that im using with BIAPPS) whether that could be the problem
    Since im aware that snapshots also a recent one and it does not have any chances of destroying(my BIAPPS metadata)
    Couldnt get with the problem clearly. Kindly help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Saro

  • Problem with Jolt Repository Editing

    Greetings to all,
    I am suffering with a problem.A deficit of knowledge.
    Here it is:
    Our applications are running on Solaris 10 and Tuxedo 11gr1. If i need to add service in Jolt Repository how do I do it?
    All I have access to server is via a Putty Terminal (black screen console) and we have a jolt repository file which I do not understand completely.
    It has lines like this :
    add PKG/GETFLTSCHDFRI01: I think this is a package.
    add SVC/GETFLTSCHDFRI01: I think this is service declaration.
    bt=FML32:ex=1:BT=FML32:vs=3:bp:pf=167772161:po=1:
    pn=DATA:pa=rw:pt=string:ep:bp:pf=167772162:po=1:\
    pn=END_USER:pa=rw:pt=string:ep:bp:pf=167772163:po=1:
    pn=SERVICE_NAME:pa=rw:pt=string:ep:
    What I could interpret/guess is -
    bt - buffer type.
    ex - No idea
    BT - buffer type. why twice?
    pn is parameter name for service GETFLTSCHDFRI01.It has 3 of them.
    pt is parameter type.
    pa - parameter access permissions .
    ep - No idea
    bp - No idea
    pf -  No idea
    po - No idea
    add SVC/.GETSVC:vs=1:ex=0:bt=FML32:bp:
    pn=REPNAME:pt=string:pf=167772161:pa=wr:ep:bp:pn=REPVALUE:pt=string:pf=167772162:pa=rd:ep:bp:
    pn=STATLIN:pt=string:pf=167772163:pa=rd:ep:
    add SVC/.GETREC:vs=1:ex=0:bt=FML32:bp:
    pn=REPNAME:pt=string:pf=167772161:pa=wr:ep:bp:
    pn=REPVALUE:pt=string:pf=167772162:pa=rd:ep:bp:
    pn=STATLIN:pt=string:pf=167772163:pa=rd:ep:
    Now why this "." is before GETSVC or  GETREC -  - No idea
    Is there any way to understand this file completely and manually edit it to add a new service?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Deb

    Thanks Bob,
    I copied the "jolt" directory from the Unix server (which I can only access by Putty ) in my local windows machine.
    I ran the below from Command Prompt.
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin>appletviewer C:\Users\Deb\Desktop\jolt\jolt\RE.html
    The applet popped up but other than "Server" and "Port Number" everything was grayed out.
    I received an warning like :Warning: Can't read AppletViewer properties file: C:\Users\Deb\.hotjava\properties Using defaults. in the first run but not in second run.
    My ubb shows :
    JSL
            SRVGRP=JOLTGRP
            SRVID=1000
            CLOPT="-A -o logs/slog/JSL.out -e logs/slog/JSL.err --
                   -n //unixserver:32799 -m1 -M3 -x10 -T 360"
    I checked port status.
    unixserver:/apps/tuxapps/intserv_dev/config>netstat -na|grep 32799
          *.32799              *.*                0      0 49152      0 LISTEN
    Now when I am trying to connect from the applet putting the
    "Server" as "unixserver"
    "Port" as 32799
    It gives an
    bea.jolt.SessionException :Cannot connect to any //unixserver:32799
    Reason:NwHdlr: Cannot get address by name.
    Could you please suggest what is going wrong?
    Rgds,
    Deb

  • Problem with creating repository

    the problem you have indicates that you missed important steps of the installation guide.
    During the Repository installation, you are asked to connect as SYS and execute some grants:
    grant execute on dbms_lock to repos_owner;
    grant execute on dbms_pipe to repos_owner;
    grant create table to repos_owner;
    grant select on sys.v_$nls_parameters to repos_owner with grant option;
    grant select on sys.v_$parameter to repos_owner;
    Please check the installation guide again.
    If nothing was already defined in the Repository, the eaiest may be to drop your repository and recreate it after having executed all steps from the Installation Guide.
    Hope this helps,
    Didier

  • Install problems with Work Flow 9.0.4

    I've installed the 10g (9.2.0.4 rdbms and 9.0.4 AS and CMSDK) on a RedHat 3 ES machine and had no problems (thanks to Werner Puschitz for his great how to http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml).
    Now I am trying to install the Work Flow product that accompanies the ias904cmsdk. But the Work Flow configuration fails when it tests the SYS login.
    My reading of the sqlnet.log and workflow.log files is that the install script (wfinstall.csh) is trying to start an instance of Oracle in the AS bin folder. (Fatal TNS error connecting to ...(PROGRAM=/opt/.../as9i/bin/oracle)...
    I installed the J2EE / Webcache installation of AS (as per the CMSDK recommendations) so there is no instance of oracle in the AS home/bin folder. The rdbms is in a different ORACLE_HOME than Work Flow. I've tried setting and unsetting the ORACLE_HOME and this makes no difference.
    Does anyone out there have any ideas?
