Problem with yellow blotches

I have been working all afternoon with some photos my wife took of our daughter and granddaughter together. Am very happy with the final result which has entailed me taking my daughter's
head and transposing it to another photo where our granddaughter, Alex, is very good (using Photomerge in any way was no good, so took the longer route).
Perhaps because my wife took them on a point and shoot there is one fundamental problem. There are yellow patches on our daughter's skin. They are not the result of temperature (not a colour caste)
Though I did try fixing in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) with temperature and tint. I have tried adjustment layers of many types. Tried levels adjustment layers, working through each colour, red, blue,
green, but nothing seems to work.
Perhaps they are just large artifacts, and I just have to clone - however whilst this would be relatively easy (if time consuming), then my understanding would not progress.
What can I do please ??

Using the method I described in msg#3:
- With the Color Picker selected a light portion of the child's forehead.
- Added a Solid Color adjustment layer filled with this color and set the layer's Blend Mode to Color. This eliminated the yellow but also changed the entire picture.
- Filled the adjustment layer mask with black to restore the original.
- Set the Foreground/Background colors to their default white/black values.
- With the Brush tool painted over the yellow portions with white to reveal the new skin tone, taking care to avoid lips, eyes, hair, etc. If you make a mistake, paint with black to restore the original. Tip: type "X" to toggle between black & white.
- If the skin looks too dark or light, you can double-click the adjustment layer to select a new color. If too dark you can also try lowering the layer's Opacity.
- To elimimate the yellow hair I added a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, selected Yellow from the pull-down list, and lowered the Saturation.
- Made a Levels adjustment to the original layer to lighten the whole thing.

Bridge CS4 - problem with yellow thumbnails

I've installed Bridge and Photoshop CS4 and am having a problem with very yellow thumbnails (I still have CS3 installed and this is NOT happening there with the same images). I'm running on a a Windows Vista Service Pack1 platform. When I download my images from my Nikon D300 NEF and jpg files they look fine on the card and the download selection screen in Bridge but when they are downloaded they are VERY yellow (both NEFs and jpgs). The minute I open them in Photshop CS4 they are fine with no adjustments necessary. Does anybody have any ideas?

PS - with 4G Ram both programs are running noticibly faster than CS3 on the same machine - that's a good thing!

If you use the embedded jpeg do you still get yellow thumbs? Don't have CS4 but that option is under workspaces quick link I think.
If so if they were just RAW images you would need to tweek the ACR default settings.

Problem with yellow question mark at other devices.

I have lost my wireless connection, there is a yellow question mark at other devices. I have therefore no software for PCI flash memory, PCI modem and Network controller. I am not sure what to download from website as everyone I think it is says that software is already present. I can use internet on a wired connection but not wireless. Dont know what else to try so please help!

RAW Highlights Problem with conversion from Canon 5D

I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon 20D to a Canon 5D. I shoot only RAW and I recently shot a couple of images of a beautiful sunset out West. I was bracketing the exposures all over the place since the light-drk contrasts were really large and the light was changing so fast. The images looked great on the Camera's LCD but, when I ran them through Aperture I got some really nasty artifacts on the conversions around the highlights. Here are examples:

the problem I see is with the nasty transition from yellow to white in the blown highlight. I also don't like the broad areas of flat yellow - the tonality is completely missing. These are the default RAW settings exported to JPGs and the poor image quality of the highlights looks identical on screen between the RAW images in Aperture and these JPGs, so it's not a JPG artifact.
I don't recall having this problem with the 20D - is the 5D conversion more difficult for Aperture? Might I be doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix this? I ran the RAW file through lightroom and it didn't have the same problem. Please help!

I have the same problems when I shot the sun rise and sun set.. It is very nasty transition from yellow to white or white to yellow from the sun. I don't think Aperture can fix that. It was over the exposure with the sun. And yes, it looks great on 2 inches LCD. I think you need to use filter when you shoot the sunset or sunrise to get the perfect lighting. Let me know, if you know the tweak with Aperture.. I will check out lightroom... I have alot of sunet and sunrise photos to correct.. and i checked out this place http://www.all-creatures.org/pics/sunset.html they have the same problems with yellow to white...

IMac Aluminum 24" with yellow horizontal blotches

We have an out of warranty iMac 24" with yellow/dark horizontal blotches on the screen. The closest I can describe is that they look like residue from someone smoking around the iMac and the internal air currents have deposited the smoke/tar onto the inside of the screen.
But since we do not smoke this isn't the case.
Is this a similar ongoing issue that I read about the 27" in that it is the screen and not some sort of haze forming on the inside of the glass panel?
Has Apple acknowledged this as a problem and issued an extended warranty or recall or is this down to the old 'squeeky wheel gets the grease scenario"?
It is most obvious with a bright white background but less so once you have a darker pattern up. Still makes me think it will throw off any colour correction being done and since we're talking prepress work....

This is sounding similar to what i am now experiencing. Bought the Mac in early Sept, this started yesterday (Nov 17th), after "waking up" my computer from sleep mode out of no where. I have a 27in iMac, noticed - what I thought were smudges or dirt in the upper right portion of the screen. It's not, right now as I am typing on the white page I see slightly light yellowish spots, blotches, one looks like a 1/2 inch "drip" pattern.
Appears it's apparently spreading as well, the upper middle, and upper left I am noticing it now as well. Yet the center and bottom of my display is fine..so far.
This is not the first post about this issue here, so there is an obvious flaw.
I bought the AppleCare, "One on One"..so I suppose I will try to get in touch with them Friday. What upsets me is this is my FIRST Mac..dealing with Windows since March 1994 until I simply had it with them. Never once had screen burns or issues with monitors.
I love this Mac, but darn this is not the great 1st impression.

Problem with printing ever since I've changed the yellow cartridge ink

I have the new printer - HP Ink Advantage 3525 that was working great.
I got a message on my PC which says that I need to change the yellow cartridge one, so I did it very easily, but even since I get tons of problems with my printer.
The communication between the pc and the printer doesn't work all the time. So I reset all the properties and did it again from scratch and not it's ok.
The main problem is that no matter what I'm priniting, the color are really not accurate when all the picture is almost all yellow! I did all the clear options and it still does it.
Any help please?

If Outlook has "stopped working" it may be due to the Outlook iTunes Sync Add-in that was installed when you installed iTunes 7.3.
If you disable that add-in, Outlook will stop crashing - however, you will not be able to sync your calendar and contacts. Apple has been made aware of this issue.

Problem with a stuck yellow process chain

I have a problem with a stuck yellow process chain.
A Meta chain calling a sub chain. The sub chain loads some master data.
Some months ago one process stopped in yellow, no processes still running.
So after that day when the meta chain runs the error msg is as follows

The previous run of the current subchain, BW_METADATA_MD_ST , is not yet
     complete. This leads to communication errors with the metachain called,
     BW_METADATA_MD .
System response
The current run of the metachain is cancelled.
Procedure
1. End the previous run of the subchain, or wait until the run is
         complete.
         It does not matter whether the run was successfully completed or
         not.
2. Restart the metachain.
How do I end the previous run of the subchain?
There is no process running, just want to set the flag to ended.

Problem with Adobe Premiere Elements 11

Problem Description:
Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (BOX)
After adding any the timeline material ( pictures or music or video) , 2-3 seconds hanging.
Then closes without any notification.
This program gave me a friend, not for need. He used it to me.
By not knowing at first I installed a Pr, and then my friend temporarily deactivate the license .
In the "Help" menu is available only " Deactivate" ...
It is a problem with the activation or something else?

Problem with Preview and PSD files - random gray square

Hi guys, hope you can help...
I've got a problem with Preview and PSD files.
If I open in Preview both an original jpg straight from my reflex and the photoshop version of the same picture, the psd file presents a gray square (of what it seems unrendered image) in a random area of the photo (sometimes in the center.). The square is quite big...
If I zoom in or zoom out it disappears...if I scroll to another photo and then back to the psd, the square it's there again...sometimes in a different position.
I've tried the same psd on my older iMac with leopard...and got no problem at all.
I suspect it got something to do with my Ati...
(this is the second iMac 27...the first went back for gray banding on the lcd screen and flickering and yellow tinge........)

I've just found out that opening Preview in 32bit mode (instead of default 64bit) works flawlessly with any psd files. If I switch back to 64bit mode, Preview is much faster but the gray square comes back...
It seems like the i7 is much faster than the Ati....
Any more realistic ideas?

I am having a problem with Java and Abode. Trying to play Pogo.

N95 8gb Problem with GPS in US.

Hi. I just brought nokia n95 8gb(Singapore model). I just updated my cell to 11 firmware. Now i have a big problem with GPS. I can find some satellites but i cant establish connection with them. How i can fix this problem? All the time if im going to google maps for example i can only see yellow blinking(satellite search) ...it never turns green...And i'm living in USA,New York. I tried differenet places and it doesnt work..Singapore phone doesn't work properly in US?

Yeaaaaah i fixed the problem by myself. Make sure everybody check in GPS data>Options>Positioning settings> that you disable bluetooth GPS and Network based. Yessir.U can close this topic.

Problem with CSS files when placed in multiple locations.

In our application we have a folder structure for the code files. Folder structure looks something like the one shown below:
ABC
---Scripts
---Stylesheets
DEF
Scripts
Stylesheets
Common
---Scripts
---Stylesheets
The problem is, if we create a CSS file and place it in its module specific folder (Eg: ABC) to which it belongs to and call the CSS on a page, then the styles are not getting applied to the page. But if we move the stylesheet to the Common folder, then page renders properly. In common folder, we already have a common CSS which is used across the project.
Facing similar problem with module specific and common js files.
We have to move all the module specific files to the module folders and all the common files to be placed in the Common folder.

Also note that, If your html is referencing to multiple css files then the last referenced CSS file style classes will override all the style class having same names in the previous css files.
for example,

Network problem with one particular iMac in a home network

I want to report a problem involving one particular iMac (2008 Al 24").
On my home network (Apple Airport Extreme and Express extensions, about five Macs and couple of iDevices), all other Macs can see and connect to each other as well as printing to the networked Brother printer without problem.
However, on one particular iMac, I can see all other Macs, can set Brother printer as default with green dot next to it in Print Preference Pane, but I can not connect to other macs, nor print to the printer. Meanwhile, the iMac can get on the internet without any problem. I checked Share Preference Pane and all settings are same as other macs.
The iMac used to work flawlessly until recently, and I first noticed the problem because I could not print, getting a message the printer can not be found (and the dots turn yellow for a while then went back to normal green). Then, I found neither the iMac, nor other macs on the network can connect to each other, even though I can see all of them in Finder.
I opened Apple Remote Network on my own mac, and I can see and connect all other shared macs, but this iMac's status showed not online, even though the IP adress is valid. As a results, no other macs can connect to the iMac, either. It seems to be a problem with the intranet only, not internet.
One more thing, about a month ago, the iMac popped out a warning about network name, saying the old name was in use (conflict) in the network, so I have to change it in Share Pane. Not sure if this is related to the intranet problem.
Reboot and repaired permission several times, no change. Hate to reinstall everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another update:
For unknown reason, my iMac was suddenly back onto the home "intranet". It can be accessed by my MacBook Air through Finder Connect, and can also be seen by Apple Remote Desktop.
However, printing is still a problem while other macs have no problem printing to the same printer. Whenever I send a print task, either Word document, or other programs such as GraphicConverter image, the iMac tried to connect to the default printer, but failed, and wanted to try again in 30 seconds 9and continued to fail). Meanwhile, the green dot next to the printer selection turned to yellow in Preference Pane. But as soon as I cancel the print job, the printer status went back to normal green.
The printer is a Brother color laser HL-4070CDW, connected through wireless (g only), with it own DHCP but specific IP address. I printed out a setting for the printer and all looks normal, and all other macs can print to it without problem. Other macs can also get access to the printer profile, and check inks copy counts, etc, but the iMac cannot.
Only thing changed since last post was a new update for Apple Airport firmware (to 7.5.2 I think). So my problem is still half solved: can connect to other macs on the same network, but still not be able to print.
