I am having the exact same problem with the iMessage on both my MacBook pro and my iphone4. It either says the username/password is incorrect or it can not contact the server. Facetime and iCloud works just fine with the same apple id and password. Somebody please help, I am beyond frustrated!

  • I have problems to activate imessage and facetime on my iphone

i have problems to activate imessage and facetime on my iphone, it doesnt work with my phone number, only with icloud and when somebody tries to contact me on facetime, it show them that im not connected, please help!

Have you tried restarting the phone?  Hold both Home and Power buttons down until Apple logo appears and phone "reboots".
And have you tried resetting Network Settings?
Settings => General => Reset => Reset Network Settings
You will have to re-enter Wifi Passwords but it might help you get to a more solid connection on your phone.

  • Is anyone experiencing problems signing into imessage and FaceTime since upgrading iOS 6?

Since upgrading to iOS 6, is there anyone who  have had problems signing into iMessage and face time? I need some assistance!

    I think I've fixed it !!
not sure if this will work for everone but I noticed when you go on settings>messages>Send & Receive it was displaying my Apple ID twice and underneath where is says "You can be reached by iMessage at:" , it was displaying my email address twice as well, so I clicked on my Apple ID and signed out, restarted my ipod and signed back into iMessage in the settings and it just displayed my apple ID and email once. Next I restarted my router and my Ipod Touch 4g IOS 6 and it was working again !!! . Not sure if this will work for everyone but I just ****** around with it and it seems to be working for now anyway

Hi apple *sigh* i have a serious problem with my imessage... when i try to open it, it automaticlly sends me back to my homescreen... hope someone knows this problem, thanks

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Having problems setting up iMessage

I'm having problems setting up iMessage on my iPod Touch.  I have several iphones and they all were configured out problems.  But I'm having difficulty getting this to work on an iPod touch.
The iPod touch has been upgraded to the latest iOS 5.01 from  iOS 5.0 and I still have problems...
I have a valid iCloud account
iCloud is setup and working fine on this iPod touch
I've shut-down and restarted the iPod touch
    I've done a hard-reset
    Wifi is setup properly...
    Here's the issue:
I open iMessage (either through the Messages app, or via Settings/Messages
I'm asked to enter the Apple ID.  So I enter my Apple ID and password
    I click "Sign In"
The app moves to the next screen - "People will message you using your email address.  What email address would you like to use?".  I enter the same gmail address I'm using for my Apple ID
I click the Next button and it scrolls back to the original "Enter Apple ID" sign in screen in Step#2.   No error message appears.
So I don't really know what to try next..

OK - solved my own issue finally.
The answer was buried in another thread within a reply from user fdm1979.
The time on this particular iPod was wrong...just flip the Date/Time to "Set Automatically", and then suddently imessage and FaceTime started working.

  • Problem with IPrivate, IMessage

    Hi,
I have a problem with the generation of IPrivate<...>View, wdThis, wdContext and IMessage<...>. It shows build errors against the imports of IPrivate and IMessage.
    I tried the following:
    1. Close project, reopen, reload and rebulid.
    2. Close NWDS, reopen, reload, rebuild.
Nothing has helped so far, one thing that I observed is, I have four views in the component, at times the Internal<..> and IPrivate<...> of few are generated and at times they are not generated.
Also initially the component controller's IPrivate<..> and IPublic<..> were not being generated, I tried reimporting the model and the problem was solved. I even tried reimporting some more times, but it din help.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Shradha

    Hi Shardha,
I also did some Context mapping between the two components and after data I started getting these error messages.
    please reply
    Thanks

  • TS4196 I am having problems un-installing iMessages(Beta) and re-installing iChat

Could someone help me with an answer to my problem. I installed the (BETA) version of iMessages, and now I want to un-install it and get my iChat bck.
But, I am running into a problem. Each time I to the the iMessages menu, and select "Uninstall Messages Beta" it begins the process by looking up software, then I get a window saying..."The software is currently unavailable...you can check for the software later by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu".
So, I am at a loss, and not know how to fix my problem. Is there anyone out there that can help?
I am on a new MacBook Air, 2GHz Intel Core i7.
    Thanks,
    Tim

Are you using dial-up, cable, or DSL? Do you have a slow or fast connection? The former is likely to make it difficult to get a reliable download of a 4 GB file.

  • IMessage order on MacBook Pro and problems with iPhone iMessage

    Hi,
I use my iMessage on my MacBook Pro and on my iPhone. In iMessages on my Mac I have it set to use two addresses, my phone number and my icloud email. I have the same on my phone.
When I receive a message it is ordered correctly on my phone with the most recent being shown last and the oldest I need to scroll to the top. But, on my MacBook when I open messages they seem to be ordered all over the place and I need to scroll up sometimes and I find that the most recent is sandwiched between two others in no real time order. Can anyone help me understand and correct this problem.
Also the other day, my iPhone imessage started playing up and randomly ordered the messages ut it has now reverted to the correct format. Please can someone help?
    Thanks
    Matt

Based on information in another answer I tried the following ...
After doing what blueno suggested I did have to reboot.  I then had to provide my password lots of times when I logged in.  That still didn't work so I logged out of my iCloud account in Message and logged back in, repaired, and it worked!
    This is what I did:
    1) Open Key Chain Access ( go to Applications>Utilities)
    2) Select Login at the top left side under Keychains
    3) Select All Items on the lower left side under Category
    4) Search for entries of IDS.
    5) Highlight and delete all entries that has IDS.
    6) Search for entries of FaceTime
    7) Highlight and delete all entries of FaceTime
    8) Search for entries of Messages (I also found entries containing Message (singular, not plural), but didn't delete these.)
    9) Highlight and delete all entries of Messages
    10) Reboot!
    11) Log back in and when requested log back into iCloud account (I got asked for the password multiple times)
    12) Log out of iCloud account in iMessage (Not sure if this is needed)
    13) Log back into iCloud account in iMessage.
    14) On iPhone in Settings/Messages/Text Message Forwarding turn off forwarding to my iMac.
    15) Turn Text Message Forwarding back on for my iMac (re-pairs and I entered the new number)
    16) Could send text messages from my iMac!!!!!
But it was short lived.  One message was sent using SMS (that should have gone through using iMessage and then back to the same error message.  So I am back to square one.

  • Has anyone else experienced problems when using iMessages on a Mac?

For me it isn't syncing all the messages which are on my iPhone, so not all the messages appear on my mac on the iMessages programme. Any ideas on how to fix this very annoying problem?

    Hi,
    No.
iMessages sent to the Phone Number are not synced at this time
The Process tend to send via the ID that was called (i.e the iPhone Number) and these do not sync to the Mac and the Messages app there or to any other iOS device.

  • Problema eliminazione definitiva iMessage da iPhone ed iPad mini

    Buongiorno a tutti
