Problema Bootcamp e Yosemite
Salve a tutti, voglio installare windows 8.1 utilizzando l'assistente Boot Camp sul mio iMac retina con Fusion Drive da 1TB senza alcuna partizione aggiuntiva.
Pur seguendo tutte le procedure, arrivato alla finestra di partizione, una volta avviata la stessa, la barra non segna alcun progresso (anzi, fin dall'inizio è già completa).
Ho provato a lasciarlo lavorare per un paio di ore ma non succede nulla, tant'è che in Disk Utility non mi indica la presenza di nessuna partizione aggiuntiva.
Come posso risolvere questo problema? E' da giorni che provo senza risultato.

I have a 2009 Macbook Pro with 1T hdd 8GB Ram and ran Maverick without problem...Yosemite installation has me completely frozen, nothing works but the spinning ball...I had to force shutdown last night, and haven't turned it on again...what do you advise? During installation emptied cache, etc. Backed up using time machine, fortunately.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:

Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

Problem with my Yosemite Download
Hi my name is Jomari
I have a problem downloading my Yosemite on my 2012 MBP. Okay to start the problem, I downloaded it 2 days ago on my Macbook Pro & IMac so while I was downloading it I took a break and went to make myself busy as it will some time and after an hour I get back to both of my mac's both we're having a different problem. My IMac had stuck on the middle of the download for some time so I think of restarting it will be a better Idea so it was. After I restart it It works and had my Yosemite working on my Imac. But on the other hand my Macbook Pro was the problem. My first problem was they told me that my "Essential.Pkg" error to occured so they ask me to restart and restart the problem is keep repeating and it's ******* me off. So what I did was I tried to googled it and see if I have the same problem and yeah saw some site and comments had same problem as me but some of them worked and some them not. They ask me to Shut Down my computer and On it again while pressing the "Option" button and it brought me to the Recovery Drive and click on it and brought me to Disk Utility so while I was on that page it give me a bit smile on my face as I thought maybe I could make my Macbook Pro work soon. But than again I didn't I keep on re-installing and repeat it some time and it just telling me that it will restart automatically after the download is done but It just keep going back to the Disk Utility Page. So the next day I decided to bring it to the Apple Care Store to get a test on my Laptop maybe there's some problem they told me that my Hardware is pretty fine but my software has problem so what they suggest me to do was go to the "Disk Utility" and you'll see on the top there's this Word "Erase" press on that and before you press "erase" check it is on the "Journaled" mode so I did the test but it didn't work so they gave me another suggestion to do "Shut Down" and On it and Press "Command" + "R" but it just brought me to the same page as what I press on my "Option" button. After this problem the last problem that I totally wanna give up on my macbook was everything working fine now and everything is downloading but after when I almost gotta finish they'll gonna they'll gonna tell me that "Fail to Purchase it to the App Store" It really make me wanna kill myself seeing that. So now I'm really out of ideas what to do on my Mac. Please help me with my problem I really need it for my GIG and I don't care if my files get deleted I just need to get it back to work normal. You can use a 4 GB and 2 GB module to get to 6 GBs. That should help a bit. But keep in mind you have very old hardware for running Yosemite. That machine should stop at Snow Leopard. -
great Problemes after installing Yosemite (10.10.2 ) with Photoshop CS6....The program crashes --last time 10 times during my work session..wacomtable doesnt work..it is slow...and get error messages about the graphic card....It s a Terror to work with my beloved Photoshop!
The Yosemite upgrade very often damages existing Photoshop installations. Thank Apple for that.
You need to uninstall and re-install Photoshop, then apply all the Photoshop upgrades from scratch.

Can't create Bootcamp after Yosemite
Hello! Im trying to create a Windows partition on my Mac using Bootcamp but I'm having trouble. Im able to create a USB Bootable Drive (It doesn't support it stock, i used the old trick typing some terminal commands and editing some Bootcamp preferences to get it to create the USB) using Bootcamp Assistant, i partitioned the disk succesfully too but when it restarts to keep going with the installation, it just get stuck on the Apple logo and won't do anything. I have to long press the power button and shut it down, then turn it on again pressing Option and select my Mac partition and then it boots again to Mac, but no luck getting it to boot from the USB. Also, when i turn it on pressing Option, i don't see the USB listed. Only my Mac Partition and the Recovery. I could do this before no problem at all, but after i upgraded to Yosemite, I'm having this problem.
My Macbook Pro is an Late 2009 model, with a SSD. Everything else is stock. Running Yosemite 10.10.1. Any ideas why this is happening?Yosemite Bootmanager is different from Mavericks or older OSX versions. Modifying the BC info.plist will let you create a USB, but cannot change the BC settings in the NVRAM that point to the now non-existent Optical drive. It will not work on models older than 2011.

The BCA code looks at the Model Identifier. It can also be modified, but the results are unpredictable.

Is there a problem with Adobe+Yosemite or is it me?
My applemacbook pro has recently changed itself from OS Lion to Yosemite. Flash player then stopped working. I have tried every which way to install Flashplayer which has always worked well before. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times. It tells me it has been installed but when I look I can only see 'Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0 — from file “Flash Player.plugin”' which seems to give me Application future splash and application shockwave splash. I don't see application flash player. I can't open files needing flash without the 'get adobe icon' showing. Plugins are enabled. I've been through the forums and am now at wits end. Please if I haven't done something can you tell me simply, in easy steps, not assuming I might understand contractions of in-club computer language!! Maybe the problem isn't mine at all??? Maybe there's a conflict with Yosemite? If I look at the install arrow at the top of the screen it has been highlighted. If I click on it it tells me I have Adobe Flash Player to install and then the circle starts again. I click on it and try to reinstall once again! Many thanks to anyone who can help me.

Before OS X Yosemite I had no problems. Now when I turn my IMAC on the screen goes white with no response from Keyboard or mouse after the vertical bar fills. I have to shut off the power and try again until it finally completes the start up and I have a screen.

First problem since 2009 - Yosemite
Problem description:
I have a fairly old macbook pro, purchased in 2009. Never had any problems with it but since upgrading to yosemite it takes minutes to boot up, before the download it was seconds. Also the spinning ball of death shows up at least once for every thing I try to do. I’m not very Mac savvy, so I don’t know what to do. I have used it since 09 for school and at home but never had to do anything technical. Any help would be appreciated!!

Jan 24, 2015, 12:51:03 AM Self test - passedWhile Apple says 2 GB of RAM is required the consensus seems to be at least 4 GB is needed for a smooth operating OS. More than 4 GB is better.
The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.

Macbook pro startup problems, Mavericks and Yosemite

OK I am an idiot for trying to update to Yosemite which basically killed my laptop. After a long time of trying everything I eventually deleted and reformatted the hd and reinstalled maverick + data from Time Machine (via internet recovery). But still the problem seems to persist more or less identically after working ok for some hours.
I opened up the laptop this morning and the screen was just blank and I couldn’t restart (just got the grey screen). I can open up in safe mode but there is some very strange behaviour. At the moment the screen is divided in half with the r side on the L and the L side on the R. This is new, no weird screen issues before (except the grey screen on startup).
I have tried internet recovery again to use disc utility, the disc verifies fine. There is something strange going on with the permissions though - 2 permissions need repairing and I repair them but when I re-verify they need repairing again. I have repaired them about 10 times now but have no idea if they are connected with my problems or not.
Anyway I am at a total loss to know what is wrong or what I can do about it and getting desperate (I need to work!!). Any ideas?Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

Copy paste problems - bootcamp
The copy and paste functions don't seem to be working in
dreamweaver 8 in bootcamp ... does anyone have a solution to this?
I have tried deleting this file "WinFileCache-7A9586CB" as
discussed in another thread ... but this made no difference.

Having bluetooth connection problem after using Yosemite for a week
After installing and using Yosemite for a week, I experienced bluetooth connection problems with my magic mouse and headphone, my model is macbook pro retina early 2013, hope to fix this soon

We would tend to see the exact message you are seeing.
These were the first 4 error messages and the suggested fixes
FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: Troubleshooting sign in issues - Apple Support
There is a Fifth which has a Contact Apple Support messages on it.
It can only be fixed by contacting Support. (Although you often have to get bumped to Level 2 people and Say it an Account issue)
There seem to be two related issues to the 5th one.
The 6th as I call it is when each and every iMessages Contacts is reported as not being Registered.
The 7th seems to return "Not Delivered" alerts in the chat window.
These two suggest that the Mac is partially logged in but is still having seemingly have issues related to the 5th issue.
If it these I feel only Apple Support can sort it but you will have a harder job convincing someone to actually look at the iMessages servers.

CS6 problem with Apple Yosemite on iMac
I have a huge problem with my 27" imac having upgraded to Yosemite - bridge is working fine but when I open a photo from bridge into Photoshop I get a montage of images and abstract boxes instead of the photo - If I quit PS and start again it works fine for about 2-3 images then it starts doing the montage thing again - I have had no problems at all for years until this latest upgrade - any suggestions ??
You're hitting some of the video driver bugs in Yosemite.
You can turn off GPU drawing in Photoshop's preferences, then restart Photoshop.
But that disables all the GPU dependent features -- if you need some of the GPU features, then you probably should downgrade to a more stable MacOS version. -
Outlook problem after installing yosemite
I have updated my mac to OS X Yosemite. I now find my outlook is behaving strange. I know I have emails but can only find them by going to search. New emails no longer come up in the conversation column. Is there a quick fix or do I need to go to an apple outlet.
You have to use Verizon to use your Outlook. Your daughter is using a different Internet Service Provider.
Sympatico is my Internet Service Provider and I have no problem when I visit someone who is on Sympatico's network. I have problems when I visit a friend using Cogeco.

Problems setting a Yosemite domain name account for Send only
What do I do in Yosemite Mail so that my DOT MAC account is IMAP, but so that I can also send email from a domain account that is a POP account at GoDaddy?
My Dot Mac / iCloud account is my primary Mail account. I also have a domain name account that I use only for sending mail. The domain name account is a POP account, not an IMAP account. The domain server (not an Apple server) forwards the email to my Dot Mac account as it comes in, but I do NOT sync mail or even pick up mail from the domain name server.
With Yosemite, Apple apparently changed the way it deals with that situation. I say "apparently" because I'm having a hard time getting help on this. Before Yosemite, I had the domain account enabled, but while there was a password for sending there was no password for picking up the domain name mail. Every once in the while over the years that setup would get flaky (as Apple made changes on its end?) but usually it worked.
I continued that setup with Yosemite, but a few months ago I started having problems. My mail worked as normally, but during the night or the morning, many messages would arrive as unread duplicates, and many emails I didn't want deleted were permanently deleted. Oddly, in addition, I had an easy time keeping the setup on my MacAir but I had a hard time keeping it on my Mac Mini, even though both have Yosemite.
I took my MacAir to an Apple genius who said the settings had changed in Yosemite. He somehow reset the account for Send Only by clicking a box. Everything worked fine for a week or so,* But then I could no longer send domain name mail, I couldn't find the setting, and I went to another Genius, who didn't know what I was talking about and who couldn't solve the problem.
I need to be able to send my domain name account without making it an IMAP account, but can't figure out how.

* In other words, the Dot Mac IMAP worked correctly, the POP messages forwarded correctly to DOT MAC (without any duplication problems), and I was able to send mail from the domain account.I've not tested it but if you simply leave the incoming mail server field in the Mail account preferences blank for that account blank but set up the outgoing server and do not check "include when automatically checking new mail" you should be able to send but not receive
OR undo the forward that you have set up from #2 to #1 and use both normally
