Problema tasto caps lock
Ciao a tutti!ho un macbook pro 13 pollici no retina, da ieri il tasto caps lock non si accende più, continua a funzionare ma la luce verde funziona solo se premo con forza il bottone, da cosa potrebbe dipendere?e come posso sistemarlo? aiuto!!
Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly. Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then we'll move to the next step.
To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds); (if the computer doesn't power on, move to the next step)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

Problem with Caps Lock and Num Lock after 10.5.1
I noticed after updating to 10.5.1 my caps and num lock lights were on, i thought this odd as I did not push the buttons, pushing the buttons to turn the lights off however actually turns the caps and num lock features on.
In short, the light is backwards! when caps is OFF the light is on and when caps is ON the light is OFF!
the same is true for the num lock key/light...???
anyone else notice this problem?Same exact problem... after updating I noticed that my numbers lock and caps lock were on. Didn't think much of it so I turned them off and then I notice that they are working in reverse. Caps lock on gives me lower case letters and numbers lock on I only get the symbols associated with that key above the number....mmmmm.
Anyone found a fix yet? I have looked in preferences and other places but found no solution. -

Owning already 4 others Mac's (2 x iBook, one Powerbook and a Mac Book), I bought myself a new MacBook Pro 2 weeks ago. It has a 17"screen and 4gig of Ram.
Now the "Caps Lock" button on my new MBP doesn't work the same way as on my other computers. It appears to react much slower or I need to hit it much harder. Let's say if I would tab the button 10 times in a normal manner, it will only turn on (and put the light on) 3 or 4 times.
I took the computer back to the shop. They changed the keyboard and the parts underneath. Same thing. They have a 17" and a 15" MBP in the shop. They both work fine .
They are gonna try another keyboard this week but I fear it isn't change much.
Anyone some ideas ?

i must confess it is better in my windows XP machine :(((
I must hit the key several times to make it work properly. Anyone having the same issue? I am also facing the issue with the stripes on the screen. -

My 2008 Mac Pro 1,1 running Mac OS X 10.6.8 is having problems with CAPS LOCK, but not necessarily the caps lock key. Every once in a while my computer will suddenly think the SHIFT key is being pressed, and there's no way to "unpress" it, so to speak. Everything I click and type is as if the shift key is being pressed, and the only way to fix this issue is to restart the computer. Even if I do that, there's a chance that the issue will return only a few minutes after I turn the machine back on.
It doesn't seem that I'm doing anything in particular to trigger this unusual behavior, and it seems to be a random occurance. I do have a theory that it has something to do with the computer being used for extended periods of time, as it seems to happen more often when I'm doing a lot of video and graphics work for hours at a time.
I did, however, add some RAM to my computer a few weeks ago, which I had ordered from crucialmemory.com.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or know what might be causing it?

If it helps, whenever this issue occurs and I bring up the on screen keyboard, the shift keys are displayed as permanently pressed down. This also happens when I switch keyboards, so I know it's not any individual keyboard that is causing the problem. -

*1st problem:*
In my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-1F2 the led on the caps lock key is always on.
*2nd problem:*
I have made some test using MS Word:
when caps lock is not active, I can write without problems.
when caps lock is active, I have problems with some keys (all in the same "column"): 3, D, E, C.
When I press:
3: I get the symbol "-"
D: the cursor moves to the line below
E: I get the or the TM symbols; sometimes it activates Intel Graphic Panel
C: the cursor moves to the begin of the first line.

If this isnt possible, Im afraid this could be a hardware problem.
But new Toshiba notebooks support special feature called special function key mode.
This mode allows you to use the FN keys without pressing the additional FN button.
I dont know if this mode could affect the CAPS LOCK functionality but its definitely worth a check.
However, I would recommend you to connect external keyboard and to check if the same CAPS LOCK problems would appear. In case the external USB keyboard would work properly, the CAPS LOCK issue is related to internal keyboard malfunction. -
Caps lock button works in reverse!

this is my problem: the caps lock button (with green LED) on my MacBook Pro 13 "mid-2009, works in reverse! When the LED is on (green light) I type lowercase fonts, when the LED is off I type uppercase fonts!
I tried everything: booting from an external disk with different operating system from mine (I use MacOSX 10.7.5), reset PRAM, reset SMC, removed the internal battery, made test hardware, Disk Warriors, etc.. I brought the laptop at an Apple-authorized center where they tried all they know, but nothing was found.
I called Apple support and the guy suggests me to format the disk (I don't make it, and sincerely it's not seems the solution for me.
However, someone tells me something to do?

I just followed the steps “Before resetting the SMC” and afterwards the steps to set up the SMC, BUT THE PROBLEM STAYS AGAIN.
Now, I want try to remove the internal hard disk and start with an external hard disk (or with a CD); in this mode I want to see if the problem is related to the HD/System or to the motherboard.

Problem that starts with *apparent* sticking caps lock key
I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (two weeks outside of AppleCare, of course!). Last night, it appeared the caps lock key was sticking. It would type in all caps even when I hit the button and the green indicator light went off. Moments later, I noticed that the option that shows you all the windows on the same screen was suddenly going very, very slow. I tried to restart but it started in safe mode - twice. It finally started correctly on the third or fourth reboot. I hoped it was a fluke.
Unfortunately it's happening again and rebooting doesn't seem to fix it - I can't put in my password to login because it thinks I'm typing in all caps.
Any ideas, please? Thanks.This may enter the Apple Hall of Fame for stupid posts. I spent a couple hours last night restarting the computer, trying restore etc....and really doing anything I could from clinton's link in order to identify the problem. I'd even called our local store to let them know I would be there first thing in the morning (I'm boarding a plane in a few minutes and really needed my laptop for this trip).
So after doing all of those things + removing the caps lock key to see if it was somehow manually stuck, I go the store this morning. Virtual panic. I needed a presentation off the laptop for a workshop tomorrow and I hadn't backed up since I created it...
I enter the store, I begin to explain the situation in detail, I open up the laptop....
And the guy at the store says "Did you notice your shift key is stuck down?". Why No, I hadn't noticed that! With a tiny wiggle and a tap, that key popped back into place and the computer worked fine. The Safe Mode was happening because the shift key was down. -
My caps lock was stuck when I shut down my computer. It is coming back up in safe boot (I had spilled liquid on it).
It's asking for my password - which has some lower case letters...So now how can I get in?
Is there a way to change this password or something?
I have a wireless keyboard, but it wasn't set up - so, It's not recognizing it.
Any ideas?Take your computer to get the keyboard replaced, your lucky it didn't trigger the moisture sensor and brick your machine, so your chances of the machine working well after the keyboard is replaced is likely very good.
As long as the main keyboard is sending a caps lock signal, it's not going to work even if you get in.
If you need to remove files off the internal drive, use a Firewire cable (800 to 400 adpater may be needed) and hold T to boot the problem Mac into Firewire Target Disk Mode and connect the cable to another Mac, the hard drive will appear on the desktop which you can then remove/erase files. -
My macbook pro is stuck in caps lock, among other problems
my macbook pro (now leopard 10.6) is stuck in caps lock, no matter if the caps lock key is on or if I use shift, and windows close very slowly. I also can't erase the hard drive with my Mac OS X dvd. I can't login because my password requires numbers I can't access due to the caps lock problems, but sometimes it randomly logs me in without asking for my password.
Which version of OS X is running on the machine? When you say that the installation DVD is 'stuck' do you mean physically stuck in the machine and you cannot boot from it?
Unless your running Lion or Mountain Lion, both of which have Recovery partitions, I would think that you're simply 'stuck' if you cannot boot from the DVD. At this point, I would take the machine to an Apple Store or an AASP for a free diagnosis and repair estimate. If it turns out that you've a failed hard drive, of course, you can always replace it yourself.

Performance problem when using CAPS LOCK piano input
Dear reader,
I'm very new to Logic and am running into a performance problem when using the CAPS LOCK-piano-keyboard for input of an instrument: when I'm not recording everything is fine and the program instantly responds on my keystrokes, but as soon as I go into record-mode there is sometimes a delay in the response-time (so I press a key and it takes up to half a second longer before the note is actually played).
Is there anything to do about this to improve performance (for example turning of certain features of the application), or should I never use the CAPS LOCK keyboard anyway and go straight for an external MIDI-keyboard?

Ok... this is driving me absolutely nuts! I have a 2nd Gen MBP running the latest OS X (10.4.10). Everytime I hit my Caps Lock key, it lock the Ctrl key so that all i can do is right click. I have to reboot every time to fix it. Now, I did have the Caps Lock key remapped to Ctrl using the "Modifier Keys" option in the System Pref's, but I have since turned that off. I also had Double Command installed in the past to remap the "\" key to forward delete. I know, I know... I've goofed w/ the default settings... it's my own fault.
I can't find anyone else w/ this problem. Help!

JesseGot it! I had installed double command as a system item... it was conflicting w/ the OS X keyboard modification. Just in case anyone cares.

Please go to Device manager go to Mice and other point device click on it and uninstall the driver and restart the unit and check if unit works fine.
You can also visit HP website & update the Bios & Keyboard & Mouse Driver.

hi
when i try to use caps lock keyboard..eg by pressing caps lock, and you get that thing where you can play midi notes with your qwerty keyboard.
when i press one qwerty key, no sound, i only get sound when i keep one key pressed, and then press another. have tried with diff instruments, same problem.
is this a setting i have set by mistake?
i do recall playing about with my uc33 controller and possibly messed up the midi settings. not sure.
can anyone help?

I opened up a new song, blank, and the caps lock keyboard worked fine.
seems to be a problem with older songs, which leads me to think maybe its a setting i have changed, ie when playing with uc33 midi contoller.

In Mack Book pro - the CAPS lock key will have to be kept pressed for a long time. There is no way to get rid of this. Any of you if you face this problem please let me know how to solve this.
