I have Photoshop Elements 11 installed but Premiere Elements will not install due to the problem installing shared technologies. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to fix the issue. I tried the installation several times.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. Are you installing the program from
an installation disc or from installation files?
The Shared Technologies error is an old story that afflicts several versions of Premiere Elements on several different computer operating systems. My encounters with this error
have been using installation disc for the program involved.
There are numerous home remedies. The one that has been working for me lately and consistently has been the disabling of the OOBE Folder which is found
    Local Disk C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE which you disable by changing the folder name from OOBE to OLDOOBE.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
    Do not give up.

  • Installing PSE12 encounters problem with Shared Technologies

    Can you help me
I can't install PSE12 on my computer (Windows 7) : installing stops with a message about a problem with installing Shared Technologies
I don't know what is Shared Technologies. Is it downloaded with PSE 12?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Could you please share the logs from the location(s) mentioned below:
    %temp%\PREInstall.log, PRE11.log,
    PDApp.log,
    amt.log,
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\<*PRE11*>.log.gz
I'd be able to comment & suggest better once I have the logs but meanwhile, you might like to upgrade the Adobe Application Manager from the following location just to rule out any incompatibilities or upgrade failures of AAM:
    Win: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774

  • Attempt to reinstall  PSE 11 stalled by problems with Shared Technologies

I am attempting to reinstall my copy of PSE 11.  I get about half-way through the installation and I get a popup that says:
The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies.
Please restart your system and try again.
It has happened twice.  What is Shared Technologies and why isn't it working?
    I'm using Win7.
    John in Houston

Please uninstall all instances (any residue left) of PSE first using CS Cleaner tool (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html)
Then restart your machine and try installing afresh. You should ideally not see this issue again.
    Thanks

  • Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements "Shared Technologies" solved

I was contacted by Adobe Support.  They remotely took over my computer.  Disabled the Antivirus and Firewall temporarily until restart after installation.  Then created a file labelled ADOBE.  I put in the disc and they downloaded the APE 10 to the folder, selected the SET UP icon, selected Administrator and began the installation.  It didn't get hung up at the "Shared Technologies" this time and was successfully downloaded. I appreciate their patience and help.  It seems the problem is system specific and it is a bit frustrating, but it is solved.

    Sorry for the trouble, 907Faribanks.
There was an issue with some of the Shared Technologies, so you'll need to update the installer. The instructions for doing so are here: http://adobe.ly/KB92579

  • Help with installation problems for PE 12; error while installing Shared Technologies. Suggestions?

Help. I've tried to install PE12 multiple times without success due to shared technology installation failure. The install gets right to the end and then fails when trying to launch and uninstalls. Per the help suggestions, I downloaded the ASA, which identified no problems.
    Very frustrating.
Any suggestions for someone who is not too tech savvy?
    Thanks.

In Windows what has always worked for me is ending any already running PSE/PRE processes from previous or current versions - look for anything with 'Elements' in the name, and 'dynamiclinkmanager.exe'. Then I run the setup program by right-clicking and selecting 'Run as Administrator'. This runs the setup program with even higher privileges than a user account with Administrator privileges.

  • PSE 11 Install problems -  Shared Technologies have failed to install

    Hi All,
I am hopeful that someone will be able to provide me with a little advice regarding the installation of PSE11.
I have attempted to run the install via the BD media, Copeied BD media to HDD and download from Adobe site but I keep on getting the shared technologies error.
    I have followed the advice laid out in;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html#main_Error__Below_mentioned_applications_have_failed_to_install__Shared_tech nologies_
    and also attempted to recover the log file as explained in;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html #main_main_log
The installation failure appears to be taking place following the organiser when it tries to install the shared technologies.
I have attempted to install with all non essential windows services switched off and I have also used the CS cleaner as well as ASA log reader but to no avail.
If anyone could point me in the direction of a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
    Edit: The ASA log has thrown up the following;
"cpsid_82829s1: "A restart is pending," bootstrapper error has occurred.
Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue."
    I have gone in to the registry as per adobe advice;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-error-messages-bootstrapper-cs5.html
But I cannot find an InProgress key to delete.

Which download did you try? Was it the version from Adobe store. If so try a different source by using the free trial from the link below. Then validate the product with your serial number.
Before you begin uninstall the existing PSE11 application via the control panel.

  • "The instillation process has encountered an error while installing shared technologies."

Basically, when ever I attempt download Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my Windows Vista computer, half way through a message pops up saying "The instillation process has encountered an error while installing shared technologies. Please restart your system and try again."
Each time I insert the disc, I select trial version, in case I download the full version and it no longer lets me use my serial code.
Some one said the destination folder couldn't contain more then 250 characters, so I changed its location from 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\' to 'C:\' but it still came up with the same message!
I have downloaded the new Adobe Reader 10, but this makes no difference to the process.. no matter what I've tried it always comes up with the same message.
I also turn of my anti-virus software when installing Adobe Premiere Elements. Still this doesn't do the trick. And I've restarted my computer and tried downloading it and un-downloading it multiple times!
Every time the same message comes up, and I have no idea how to fix it... Its defiantly not my memory that is a problem, as I currently have 50GB free on my OS C:\ drive.
I also have QuickTime version 7.6.9, which is apparently needed?
If you know something I haven't tried that may work, or the problem causing this and a solution to the problem, please can you notify me, Thanks!

  • Premiere Elements 11 "installing Shared Technologies" error during install

How do I fix the "The installation process has encountered an error whil installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again." error while installing Premiere Elements 11?  Photoshop Elements 11 installed fine, but I keep receiving this error while trying to install Premier Elements 11.
    I have already tried:
    Install from CD
    Install from C: drive root
Install from Adobe website trial version
Install from CD, after clean boot
In each case it installs at the same place with the same error.
From searching these forums and doing a web search it seems like a common problem with no clear solution.

I do not know if what I am about to report will help or confuse the Premiere Elements users further on this Shared Technology error encountered during Premiere Elements installation, but here is hoping that something in the following experience might be of help to someone....
I entered your thread with the Shared Technology error (targeting Elements Organizer/Data 7) when trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 on a new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Unlike the others I had no problems installing Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements 11 from the Adobe installation disc a week earlier on this brand new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Short of re-formatting the hard drive, I did everything plus with no luck in getting versions 10 installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer. So, I decided to focus on working with the already installed version 11 programs.
I headed for Premiere Elements 11 to create a DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc and to my horror found that the program's burn dialog had no burner(s) in the burner location (either the build in one or an external burner (USB). But, Premiere Elements 11 burn to folder did work. On the other hand, I found that Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer File Menu feature to burn (datadisc) to CD or DVD did recognize these burners and that burn to feature worked. I went through the typical drill for those in this type of situation and nothing remedied the problem. So, I decided to go for the deactivate/uninstall/reinstall route. Well,  now Premiere Elements 11 reinstallation ran into the same fate as Premiere Elements 10, that is, it ran into the Shared Technologies error related to installation of the Elements Organizer and Premiere Elements 11 would not install after going through everything decribed in this thread, excluding re-formatting the hard drive.
    1. Deactivated/uninstalled Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11.
    2. Apply the cclearer: cleaner and registry cleaner. And, then went into the Registry and deleted all related to Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 as well as Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11.
    3. Disabled firewall, antivirus, spyware...
    4. Tried to reinstall Premiere Elements 11, using the installation files (setup.exe in 64 bit folder) copied to hard drive. No go. Same Shared Technology error.
    5. Started deleting programs that I had installed after the initial successful installs of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 (these programs included iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn). Still no go for the Premiee Elements 11 install, and same Shared Technologies error.
FINALLY, Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 got successfully installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer according to the following scenario (iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn still removed from system...firewall, antivirus, spyware protection re-enabled)
    1. Attached a USB burner to computer via one of its USB 3.0 ports.
    2. Inserted the Adobe installation disc into the burner tray of this burner in order to install the program(s) via the installation disc.
    3. Selected install for Photoshop Elements 11. It went to completion without problem.
    4. Selected install for Premiere Elements 11. It went to completion without problem. And, now the burn dialog/burner location did recognize the computer's built in burner and my USB external burner.
None of the above may have had anything to do with what finally triggerd the version 11 installation processes to go to completion. But, I add this to the mix of how Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 finally got installed in Windows 8 for the user.
And, I would offer this suggestion to those who have already installed Premiere Elements 11 on their Windows 8 64 bit. As soon as possible make sure you have burners listed in the burner location of the program's burn dialog.

  • Premiere Elements 11 Shared Technologies error DW020 Adobe Flash Player 10 plug in missing.

I am unable to complete the install of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my Windows7 Pro 64 bit system.  When the installation process gets to installing Shared Technologies I get an error message "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again."  Restarting the system gives the same result again.  The download assistant program identifies two errors: DW050--Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX: Install failed, and DW020: Adobe Flash CS5.5 depends on Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin to be installed.
My system currently has Adobe Flash player 11.7.700.224 installed.  I can find a download of Adobe Flash Player 10 but where do I put it?  Do I need to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 11.7... ?  Is there another solution?

This install problem seems to be solved.  I uninstalled every Adobe program, but still couldn't get past the Shared Technologies issue.  Then I went to C://Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/ and deleted all recent folders & files.  This seemed to do it.  Both Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements completed installation.  Now on to figuring out how to force Windows7 64 bit to run these programs in 32 bit simulation mode.

  • Surface Pro 3, Win 8.1. Adobe PremElem12 & PhotoshopElem12: roll back error when installing shared technologies

I'm a technical user of Macs,Windows machines.  Attempting to install the above software on a new Surface Pro3, Win8.1.  I'm setup as an administrator (only user) I've attempted about 2hrs worth of attempted loads with the same error.  I've attempted all forum items, shut off Win Defender, changed admins, deleted PDAppflex.swf and PDAppflex-app.xml, all useless attempts.  I get the feeling, I've wasted $$, appears this is a rampant wide problem.  I can't even imagine if others are going through this.

Blairjamel please see Install rollback and Shared Technologies | Windows for information on how to resolve your current error.

  • Solution: The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies

I purchased an upgrade to Elements 11 and Premiere 11 for Windows a couple of days ago. When I tried to install, I received the following error message:
"The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again."
There was an invitation to Troubleshoot using a button that downloaded Adobe Support Advisor. No joy, it didn't find any issues.
I restarted and tried to install again. Same error message. The solutions here didn`t help so I started up a chat with Adobe Support.
The TSR asked me to run  Set-Up.exe in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Install\PSE 11\ElementsSTIInstaller. That returned an error about the path being too long. He had me try some other ideas, none worked.
The TSR then asked to do a remote session. After realizing that it would not work from  the install on our server, he copied the PSE11 directory locally. He again ran Set-up.exe from the PSE 11\ElementsSTIInstaller directory. This time it completed!
After that, he ran Setup.exe in the PSE11 directory. This time, the setup completed and I was able to open Elements 11!
Hope this helps someone else who gets this error message!
    Best,
    John

I have tried all the remedies suggestted by Adobe and can not complete and install of the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Ellements  11. I had installed a trial prior to purchase. Placed the software on an older computer WXP and fpound it was too slow. Tried to install both packages and can't get beyond the Shared technologies error.
When I use the Adobe support program it is listing things like CS6 (which I don't have) and tell sme to restart or when I retry it will fail and rollback the install. I even tried stopping the processs one time to get it to install over top and it uninstalled. My purchase was a download.  I just re downloaded and it still is giving me those errors.
Please advise, thsi softawre is useless unless I can install it.
