Hello, I do not understand all the terms you use, but I'm going to share my experience. My ordis are on WiFi networks. When I install first WiFi asks for my password. Thereafter, every time I open a computer, I each time the message "Your computer could access your wireless network. I do not mind because it will find the network anyway in a few seconds. a technlicien explained to me that there is a modlule who wants to go faster than the other and tells me an error messsage. Then he finds the network and not say nothing.

  • Canon 860 Series (Pixma) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:
Canon 860 Series (Pixma 868) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips
    Problem:
    - New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
    - When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
    - The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
    Solution:
    1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.
Canon 860 Series Drivers & Software  for OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion:
The base software and drivers needed for using Canon 860 Series on Mac OS X 10.8 (USB) are
    1 Printer Driver
(Canon MX860 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 10.67.1.0 (03-Aug-2012))
    2 Scanner Driver
(Canon MX860 series Scanner Driver Ver. 14.11.4a (03-Aug-2012))
    3 Network Tool
(Canon IJ Network Tool Ver. 4.1.0 for Intel Mac (27-Dec-2012)
Canon Software for using advanced printing and scanning functions (while connected to network)
    4 Solution Menu
    (Canon Solution Menu Ver. 1.4.1 (27-Jul-2012 ))
    5 MP Navigator EX
(Canon MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 (02-Auf-2012))
    6 Easy-PhotoPrint EX
    (Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX Ver. 4.1.6 (21-Jan-2013 ))
Canon Support (HK) – check your local site
    http://www.canon.com.hk/en/download/main/index.do
Select Product and drivers from support site eg http://support-hk.canon-asia.com/
    1. Choose a product category
    Multifunctional Printers
    2. Choose a product series
      Pixma
    3. Choose a product model
      Pixma MX868
    4. Choose type of document
    Downloads or FAQ
If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
    2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB.  Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’).  This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
    3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list).  The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List.  It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try again

Hi, thaks for response, meant to post as a discussion (not question), wanted to save others time if they get the same problem

  • Problems with connection to the Mountain Lion

Someone is having problems with connection on Mac Mountain Lion? I did a clean install and the connection is unstable.

Have you tried to reset your network settings ?
What I would do is delete the connection, and then retry the set up of that connection.
System Preferences>Network, select Wi-Fi on the left and then click on the 'minus' button

  • HT201364 Hi, I have all the specs for installing Mavericks but it wont do it. Would upgrading first to Mountain Lion help?

Hi, I have all the specs for installing Mavericks but it wont do it. Would upgrading first to Mountain Lion help?

    Are you sure?
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    A. Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.

  • HELP!!! "Restart" problem after installation of OS Mountain Lion

    Dear Apple People,
I have upgraded my Macbook Pro 13 (bought last year) from Leopard to Mountain Lion. After some days my computer stopped to start normally and restarts every minute. Please see attached the photos. I have searched other topics and internet, tried to repair disks and other tools, but nothing helped...
I would (and of course other many people who faced this problem) aprreaciate if you could give us detailed instructions how to fix this problem. It is not fair that we have installed new software and even paid for it and now cannot use it...
I am looking forward for your prompt action!
    Thank you.

    I found it! -  under Users/....
So now i will back up all these files.
    What should I do then?
Follow the "step 3. If you have a backup, press Command and R keys in boot, open Disk Utility, erase the disk and install OS X" whic you have suggested earlier?
Do i need to have cd or flash drive to install OSX or is it enough to have internet connection?

  • Hanging problem with Adobe CS6 in Mountain Lion

I recently upgraded my retina Macbook pro to Mountain Lion and was having some trouble with Adobe CS6 apps hanging on startup among other things (including iCal crashing on startup)
I did a clean install of Mountain Lion and Manually rebuilt my applications folder so that Adobe MAster COllection was installed freshly on a clean install of ML.
Now it is still sporadically hanging when I try to open Photoshop, Bridge or other Adobe apps. The only thing that seems to fix it is a restart which is inconvenient when you're in the middle of work.
    ANy ideas?

Thanks for this. I had heard of the fonts problem some people have had. All my fonts were freshly installed by either the system or Adobe when I installed Master Collection. Following your advice, I just verified every font and the only problem that showed up (as you had predicted) was a minor duplication which I corrected. So, it seems unlikely to be the fonts.
As for your other point, I have been using Final Cut Pro X and that has worked fine. The only other app that has given me trouble has been Calendar which seems to get strangely stuck sometimes while it is updating. Makes me wonder if there's something going on with the network I'm using.
One thing I hadn't thought of was that it could be a problem with gfx card switcher. This seems unlikely but I'll try disabling it and see if that helps.
Weirdly, today when I had this issue, Photoshop loaded up ok but then hung when I tried to load any file into it. Bridge wouldn't start at all. I didn't try the others. Yesterday I was having problems with Illustrator.
Anyway, I see what you mean about it not being a widespread problem - which is why I started this thread. It seems no one else is having any issues. If anyone else knows what I should look for in my configuration please let me know.

  • Airplay problem with 2012 MacbookPro w/ Mountain Lion

I have a 2012 MacbookPro that I recently purchased. I also just bought the AppleTV 3. I upgraded to the Mountain Lion last week and initially the airplay icon showed up in the menu bar, as well as the display in system preferences and I was able to mirror my MacbookPro perfectly. Now, my MacbookPro is not recognizing the AppleTV. The Airplay option in the menu bar and the display is gone. My MacbookPro and AppleTV are connected to the same Wifi and they have both been restarted and updated to the newest software! Why is my MacbookPro not giving me the Airplay option?! Please help!

  • Flash Problem With Safari After Downloading Mountain Lion

I'm getting a persistent "Shockwave Player Error" when launching or resetting Safari . . . posting here because I upgraded from Snow Leopard directly to Mountain Lion and that's when the problem began.  I have a circa 2010 Macbook Pro with 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with OS X 10.8 and Safari 6.0.  I have attempted fixes in earlier threads (mostly regarding the same exact problem when upgrading to Lion), such as uninstalling Flash and reinstalling the latest from the Adobe website.  Also tried (temporarily) disabling plug-ins to see if it's flash-driven.
This is the thread with the similar problem ... the error message displayed is the exact message I'm getting here ----->  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3222853?start=0&tstart=0
    Thanks for your help.

Maybe the solution you are looking for is this:

  • Problem with my Mac running mountain lion not connecting to server

    Hi there,
I have a problem connecting to the HDD shared on my local network. As far as I understand this might be a Mountain Lion (10.8.4) problem, because all my other devices can connect to it (even my iphone throught an app called FileExplorer).
I read that it might be related to a Samba problem, but I tried to install SMBUp and I still cannot connect to my HDD. Whenever I try to connect to it via the Cmd+K it says "The version of this server is not supported". Please help me this is blowing my mind. Also, it's a shame that everything but my main machine can connect to my HDD (PCs, Android, iOS are all fine).
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay, but I've been quite busy in the recent period. Unfortunately, the solution you linked me doesn't seem to be working. Any other idea?
    BTW: I've upgraded to Mavericks

  • Problem with unpacking files in Mountain Lion (Error 2)

When I try to pack or unpack files there only come up errors since I updated to ML.
"Error 2 - no file or folder existing". Seems to be a sandbox issue, I tried "The Unarchiever.app" and there it said the OS-sandbox doesn't allow this action. I'm getting kind of annoyed by all the ML-bugs, more problems in the last 7 days since updating than in the 2 years before using Snow Leopard and Lion...
Can anyone help me with this one?
    Thanks!

If you are using any system utilities that empty system cache, stop, as they may corrupt files in your operating system.  If you are using any system add ons, make doubly sure they are Mountain Lion compatible.

  • Problem with Zhuyin input in Mountain Lion

Zhuyin input from Lion to Mountain Lion is uncomfortably differently. If you type a wrong word by mistake the dictionary would remember the wrong word and you could not override the auto-fix by typing the right word like in Lion. For example, if I type AB instead of AA (assuming both A and B are Chinese characters), then the Zhuyin system remembers AB indefinitely, unlike in Lion I could just type AA a few times and it would become the primary choice/fix for dictionary. Can anyone verse with Zhuyin help me on this matter?

Actually, the new Zhuyin input in Mountain Lion is totally broken to me. Not only the behavior that you point out, but more importantly (at least for me) is that you MUST type tones to find the proper character, and if you ever make a mistake in a chain, you have to start again from scratch. You cannot type "toneless" chains anymore, like "ㄨㄟㄕㄣㄇㄜ", this is just stupid. I've learned by ear, and like many Taiwanese (though I'm not one ^^), I don't know exactly which tone to type. I've read somewhere that the new pinyin input in Mountain Lion had the opposite behavior : tones are ignored (or something like that).
I've already sent Apple a report through their feedback form, the day after Mountain Lion's release. 10.8.1 is out, nothing has changed at all. So I've sent them another report.
I don't know what's wrong with Apple there, I don't get why they had to break a perfectly working input.
If you're experiencing a problem, please send them a report here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
It seems like it's the only way to make things move, and if I'm alone, they'd probably not listen to me ^^

  • Problem installing PSE 8 on Mountain Lion

Hi, I'm having trouble installing PSE 8 on Mountain Lion. It worked just fine on Lion, then I upgraded to ML, and it wouldn't open. I deleted and tried to reinstall PSE 8, and have not gotten beyond the "Progress" pane with a message that "a required component has failed to install correctly", with the error:
    "Adobe Anchor Service
    Error:
    Error 2."
I have tried a bunch of different things; running the CS cleaner tool, disabling my virus software, repairing disk permissions, restarting my computer, and deleting all Adobe files from these locations:
/Users/<<username>>/Library/Application Support >> The Adobe folder
    /Users/<<username>>/Library/Preferences >> Anything with com.adobe
/Library/Application Support >> folder named Adobe
    /Library/Preferences >> Anything with com.adobe
    /Applications >> Application files
    /Applications/Utilities >> The Adobe Updater
I've even created another admin account on my computer and tried to install PSE 8 there, but I still get the same error.
Any help to get this sucker installed is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

I looked a little more into fixing the issue, and it turns out that I missed the top level Library > Application Support > Adobe folder. Once that was deleted, my problem was solved.
I did find this article helpful, for anyone else who is having similar issues: http://www.cultofmac.com/90060/how-to-completely-uninstall-software-under-mac-os-x-macrx/

  • Vlc does not work with mountain lion - help

running a 2009 macbook pro and upgraded to mountain lion.  now VLC player will not load without X11 upgrade?!? don't know what this is or what it will do to my mac.  My friend's 2011 Macbook Pro upgraded to mountain lion without a hitch but i'm running into problems all the time.
    Help!  Advice needed!

You do not need XQuartz to run the 64-bit Intel version of VLC 2.03 on Mountain Lion. Running it here right now and no XQuartz installed. I have never needed X11 to run VLC on OS X since 10.6.
However, you may need a 32/64-bit binary of VLC for that 2009 vintage cpu.
Remove your present copy of VLC and then fetch another copy here.

  • Problem since downloaded OS X Mountain Lion :(

Since I downloaded the new OS X Mountain Lion, I'm having problems. It kept on restarting stating there has been a problem. What's happening? Please HELP!

    TMaverick wrote:
I had no problem installing Mountain Lion, but Disk Utility kept reporting errors on Verify suggesting Repair (which did not work), Erase, and Restore.
After 2 months and (2 new hard drives and many Restores), I isolated the problem to Norton. The version I had came from my Internet provider (Comcast) and has been on my MacBook Pro (mid-2009) since Snow Leopard. There is no update for Mountain Lion. I simply removed Norton and ALL MY PROBLEMS DISAPPEARED that quickly.
If you do use an Antivirus, I highly recommend it be certified for Mountain Lion.
Listening to Thomas would have saved you 3 months. Nortons is worse than a virus attack on Macs from what I have read.
Use ClamXav if you really feel you need anything.
Glad you are up and running again.
    Cheers
    Pete
