  • Have adobe flash player on chrome but isn't working on firefox, cannot install it I get a message that I haven't got the permissions to do so.

I have flash player in google chrome but not in firefox. When I try to simply allow flash player in firefox it is not listed. I have the only account on my computer so I am the administrator yet it states I do not have sufficient permissions to install flashplayer although it is already on my computer. I will attach a .bmp screen shot of the error message, but this is what it says if you don't want to open a pic from someone you do not know. :)
"a required file (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe:5) could not be written due to insufficient permissions.

I have tried with my antivirus (Avast free version) running and also with it disabled.

hello, please try the windows exe-installer for plugin based browser from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html and see if this works to install the adobe flash player. otherwise you'd have to contact adobe's support since that doesn't appear to be a problem directly related to a mozilla product...

  • Everything shifts to the left while using flash player on Chrome

So, for a month or so Flash has been doing this to me:
    http://i.imgur.com/6VjST.png
Notice how there are two scroll bars? Now i could deal with that, but the problem is, everything shifts to the left - meaning i have to go further to the right to select text, links, or change the options in the Youtube flash player. This doesn't just happen with Youtube, but really with any website i've seen so far that has video playback. Also, it may seem like the left bar in the video is bigger, that's Fraps's fault. This only seems to happen on Chrome, and only on this very specific laptop i'm using (An HP Pavillon g6 if that helps).
I'd like to know how i can fix this bug, because it's been... well, bugging me. Pun not intended.

I believe you are running into the following bug: Issue 140239 - An additional scroll bar appears at the right on many sites
From what I understand, this is fixed with the Chrome Canary build (a beta release of Chrome) and if all goes to plan, will eventually wind up in their released build soon.

  • Adobe Flash Player, Google Chrome and Deskjet F4440

Every time that I attempt to open my HP Deskjet F4440, a dialog box opens stating that I cannot open the program unless I download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer. First of all, I don't use Internet Explorer and, secondly, when I was last prompted to do the same action for another program  on my computer, I followed the prompt. However, when I did do as instructed, I began to have problems with my default browser, Google Chrome (OS: Windows 7). Chrome crashed repeatedly, and after many tries to troubleshoot it, I decided the course of action was to uninstall and re-install Chrome. It has been working without crashing for a week. Now I am once again receiving the same message to download Flash Player even though I had already done so previously. I cannot use my All-in-One Printer for a scanning project and I'm extremely frustrated. Upgrading the unit did nothing to resolve this issue. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi @rnkh,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that every time that you attempt to open your HP Deskjet F4440, a dialog box opens stating that I cannot open the program unless I download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer, and that you cannot scan. I am happy to help!
It is possible there could be a software conflict with Adobe. In order to know for sure I would suggest the following:
Uninstall the printer software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
If that does not resolve the issue, then I would recommend contacting Adobe Support.
    Hope this information helps!

Chrome (which I limit my use of to testing - because it uses so much processor and RAM) has its own Flash Player Plugin built in. Updating Chrome should update the plugin.
You can download the offline installer:
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
but you may need to do a "clean install" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315  to get it to work.

  • Why doesn't Firefox auto-update Flash Player like Chrome does?

For security reasons and less hassle, I like Chrome auto-updates Flash Player. Why doesn't Firefox do this?

Google Chrome has it's own version of the Flash plugin that is apart of the Google Chrome installation files.<br />
So Google needs to do a full update with every Flash release.
Firefox uses the Flash plugin as installed in your Linux distribution,<br />
If your Ubuntu Linux distribution doesn't have an automatic update for Flash then you need to do that manually.

  • Problematic Adobe Flash Player in Chrome

My Adobe Flash player keeps crashing in my Google Chrome browser, which is really annoying. When I try to fix this, it says that Chrome has the latest version automatically installed already. My Windows Messenger also requires a later version of Flash Player. How do I fix this?
    Thank you.

Chrome (which I limit my use of to testing - because it uses so much processor and RAM) has its own Flash Player Plugin built in. Updating Chrome should update the plugin.

  • Flash Player installed Chrome without my permisison.

Installing any third party app without my permission is very very slimy, deceiftul, and  Iwould not be suprised if it was illegal.
To make this worse, I cancelled the install and the installer did not clean up Chrome.
I was ambivalent toward you before, but I despise you now for this deceiful package.

If I look at the standard Flash Player download page, it asks me if I want to install Chrome.
But then I never go to this page; the installers without download managers or bundled software can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
No need to despise me; I am just another user like you.

  • Gary Seckendorf - My Flash Player on chrome doesn't  work

    Hi,
I am Gary Seckendorf. My Adobe Flash Player is not working properly on chrome and gets hanged every time due to this entire system gets hanged. Please suggest me how to cope out this problem.
    Thanks
    Gary Seckendorf

    Gary,
Chrome uses its own proprietary version of the Flash Player plugin, and updating Chrome should (but not always) update the plugin. Sometimes you have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of Chrome to get the plugin to update.

  • Activating Adobe flash player in chrome

The only flash player showing up in chrome's plugins is chrome's own pepperflash
It has been working for a long time but just dissapeared, downloading again or updating (Adobe flash player) didn't solve anything.

    Hi Stef_Schraven,
Google has been planning to deprecate the NPAPI plug-in for a long time. According to this post Chromium Blog: The Final Countdown for NPAPI NPAPI plugins will be disabled by default in April 2015.  This post does contain instructions on overriding the default disabling of the plug-in.  If you have the latest version of Chrome (42) it's most likely why you're not seeing it there. More info here NPAPI deprecation: developer guide - The Chromium Projects and if you do an internet search for 'chrome npapi' you'll get lots more info on this.

  • Flash player in Chrome high CPU usage

    Laptop Specs:
    Windows 7  64-bit
    Lenovo Thinkpad T410
    Intel Core i5 CPU  m 520 @2.4 GHz
    8.00 GB RAM
This started happening a couple months back (September ish). My laptop run perfectly fine with game play, watching HD movies, running photoshop, etc. It's only when I start up Google Chrome that the CPU usage would spike. It remains under 80% though. With normal internet surfing my CPU usage will teader around 30-40%. When I watch videos via chrome, that's when I have problems. For example, when I watch a "Walking Dead" episode from AMC.com, my CPU usage will spike to 90-100%. After a minute or two my computer will do a hard shut down, as if I pulled the battery out. I'm guessing it is because my CPU is being overworked and over heated. I thought this problem was only with Chrome but when I pulled up the video with internet explorer the same thing happened. I've cleaned my CPU & fan and bought a laptop cooling fan, no help. I've disabled the multiple flash plugins on chrome, no help. I've updated chrome and flash, no help. What should I do? I've read online that this is a common issue. Has there been a solution yet?

    Same problem here:
         - x86 Family 15 Model 6 Stepping 5 GenuineIntel ~3000 Mhz.
         - Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family/128MB
         - 4gb RAM
         - Windows XP
The problem is obvious on pages with Flash ads, YouTube (auto resolution), etc. I have the same problem with IE 8; I am guessing, it is not related to the browser.
Ordinary pages with Flash ads keep the CPU at 15%, at least, when not visible; when visible it oscillates from 15% to 90%.
In YouTube the CPU goes to 80% when the video is visible and decreases to 20% when not visible, but it spikes to 30%.
My other, I7, computer has no problem.
Adobe, I hope you will come with a solution. An algorithm should not rely on computer's power.
