l'installation s'arrete vers 23%... il semble que le disque distant se déconnecte. est-ce la cause du probleme? peut-on relier physiquement les deux ordis?

Problem with Mac Book Air OS X 10.8.5 - camera fail.. skype
Hi to the all the community !
As i already saw a few articles, it seems that due to the latest upgrade "OS X 10.8.5" , the camera of our MacBook Air can't be found.. which is kind of a big problem when you're using you Mac to STAY connected to your family and friends (around the world).. I'm really sad of this situation ..
I wanted to know when they are going to give us a new upgrade, in order to fix that sad issue.
I'm really looking forward to it ...

FIX:
1. You need Time Machine
2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

Actually it is and it isn't:
Everything on my computre seemed like it was at the correct meeting center version for our site..the correct JRE and plugin for firefox; but it would error our "Error [7] ...commonuiart.framework" ... or some other framework..
So after trying everything but re-installing the web-meeting-center....I did what I usually don't do to solve a technical issue.. I re-installed it (I use this as very last resort and in this case it worked) Yes I re-installed the version that should be available in the "Download" section for your host webex site (yes every

Mac Book Air shuts down completely if I close the cover and leave email running. Is n't it supposed to just sleep and awaken whe the cover is reopened? Instead, I have to boot it. Any idea what the problem is? I am unaware of any problem, just close the cover for safety.
Well I don't know anyone that closes the cove and leaves it for Hours... But try going to System Prefrences > Energy Saving > Uncheck Put Hard Disk to Sleep.

After I updated lion to 10.7.4, app store does not recognize my ID APPLE and it unable to connect me to app store in order to update/download apps? What have I to do? I have the same problem with mac mini e mac book air. Please help me!

my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why? I have a 2nd Gen MAc book Air with Lion . The 60GB hard disc has quickly filled up despite me keeping most of my data on a portable hard drive . I used disk inspector to locate the problem but found that it was was in 20 GB of hidden files in my user directory . Is this correct and is there anything i can do about it ? Using disk inspector you can not see individual hudden diretories or files. I did unhide them but there is a mass of diretories etc and so no way i could see if this is one or multiple files using the space. Library System and Applications are at 4 3 and 3 GB respectvely. The data I actually keep on there is 9GB Thanks for any help
I think the problem is Quick Time Player. I am using OS 10.6.8 by the way.
I tried it out again.
I had about 26 GB of space before I played an .avi video.
After the movie started to play (it was slow to load), I got a warning message that my startup disk was full. I opened Disk Utility and it told me I had no space left (about 20 MB or something like that was left).
I watched to the end of the movie.
Then I quit Quicktime Player.
And I shut down the computer.
I turned on the computer and checked Disk Utility. I have about 26 GB of space.
I think for some reason Quicktime Player uses up a lot of the disk space when it runs movies that are problematic. This movie I was watching did not open with vlc.
I normally use vlc to watch movies.
Probably it doesn't use up this much space when the movie is OK.
I think there's a problem with this particular movie. It is about 50 MB so it's not that big a file. I watch .smi subtitles with it. The Quicktime Player automatically loads the subtitle file in this case because the subtitle file has the same name as the movie file.
I watched about 10 movie files from the same series that I downloaded together and did not have any problem watching them. I watched them on vlc. But this latest movie had problems I think (as I repeat). It did not load on vlc even though I waited for a minute, and normally movies load instantly on vlc.
So I think that movie file caused problems. It made QT player use up a lot of hard disk space.
I had better avoid watching that movie in the future. I don't want it to wreck my hard drive.
So to sum up, everything is back to normal. I have the hard disk space that I should have. However, I am scared of damaging my hard drive due to shonky movie files that eat up all the space when they are played using QT player, and so I will not watch those files in the future, as I do not know why the files do that. -

It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition. Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot. Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot. If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that. Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML. If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again. However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too. -

I bought Mac Book Air 2011 last week in Apple Store of Australia, but I found when I visit internet at home through WIFI , it is so slow and often dropping, I often cannot open any website but other laptop(Windows System) worked fine and fast!!!

As you noted, I also had issues with slow WiFi as I started using the machine. However, I upgraded to Lion 10.7.1 and have not had any noticable problems since. I did not try some of the other fixes that are suggested so I don't know if they help. -
I have a multifunctional Canon i-SENSYS MF4140 and Mac Book Air Mac OS X10.7.3 Lion (11D50b). I have a problem because I can not scan, it is not driver for this application?
I see printer drivers from Canon for that printer for OS X 10.7. but not scanner drivers. If the MF4140 is not recognized by the Image Capture application and Canon technical support cannot offer any assistance, all I can think of to suggest is to try a third-party scan application such as VueScan:

The answer depends on a number of factors, such as the following:
If you have more than one email account, does this problem affect one, some, or all of your accounts?
Where did you last see this mail -- in your Inbox(es)? in some other folder(s) outside your Inbox(es)? somewhere else?
How old is the missing email -- yesterday? just before you got the new computer? over a week? over a month? over a year?
How are you reading email -- with the builtin Mail application? with some other mail-reading application? with a web browser?
How do you access your email on the server -- IMAP? POP? Exchange? web browser? other?
What version of OS X is on your new computer -- Mavericks (10.9.x)? Mountain Lion (10.8.x)?
Did you migrate your data and applications from your old computer when you set up your new computer?
For example, if the missing mail is the mail that was in your Inbox before you got the new computer, you are reading it with the builtin Mail via POP, and you failed to migrate data, then the mail was left behind on the old computer. The same would be true if the mail was in "On My Mac" mailboxes and you failed to migrate data. -

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone. -
I have been trying to share file between my Mac Book Air and PC Laptop.Sometimes my Mac sees the PC and tries to connect but every time the connection fails. It says server may not exisit or network problem. I have apparently no network problem. Thanks for any help you may provide

all the options checked on the mac are only what services the mac is offering to other machines, they have nothing to do with the services it can access (mostly...).
oh yeah, to actually connect to the pc after you have turned its sharing on, use the finder, or, when it does not show the pc (this happens on and off, possibly a refresh problem apple...) choose go --> connect to server and enter smb://<pc's name or ip>
to find the ip, the easiest way i think is
start --> run --> cmd ->> ipconfig
