Probleme Playback CS4 : slowdown / stock every seconds

Hi everybody,
So here is the problem: the playback in Premiere Pro CS4 stock every seconds. It's more like one image repeat itself every 1 or 2 seconds or something.
I first install, everything works. I did a upgrade for my graphic cards: asus HD 5750 Formula 1GB. After that, no enjoying Premiere Pro for me anymore.
I change the graphic card for a Asus ENGTX470. I know than Adobe prefer NVidia than ATI.
I reinstall everything (windows, codec, Adobe Master Pack CS4).
And it works fine again but still this problem of playback.
Here is the PC:
- I7 930 @ 3,19Ghz
- 6 GB GSkill DDR3
- MB asus rampage 2 extreme
- GC Asus ENGTX470
- HDD SATA 320 for windows
- HDD SATA 5oo for Adobe alone
- HDD SATA 320 for Data
- HDD SATA 500 for Data
- Silver Stone 700W
- Screen 1: Fugitsu 25"
- Screen 2: LG HD 22" by HDMI
The OS is windows 7 Ultimate 64bits with upgrade.
Quick Time Pro 7. VLC, etc... all the last upgrade one.
I read than ATI may cause problem with Adobe. Maybe some "rest" of this D#*@?! ATI driver is the problem here.
Should I reinstall windows again by format the disk... ?
How come everything works, including rendering 3D HD by 3DS Max 2011 and a simple playback the PC can not do it ?!
I know than some post talk about that already but it didn't fix my problem anyway.
Please some help, it's very annoying!!! It's years now I work with adobe, never have this problem. And now I work with a brand new super PC, and it doesn't work: I don't understand.

Hi Bill,
The files come from mustly After Effect or 3DS Max.
It's HD, 1280x720, 25 i/s. Quick Time export, Codec Animation.
I use to do that for the last couple of year, a lot more last year and never have problems.
I precise still, juste in case, than all the rest of CS4 works fine. I am even surprise how fast and precise is Photoshop with the HD screen and the wacom tablet. So Open GL do is job pretty good. Just the playback in Premiere repeat one image every one seconde around.
But it look like the probleme is deeper actually !!!
It's impossible for me to do a "Clean Install".
After boot on the windows 7 ultimate x64 DVD, it load the first files from windows (black screen with white loading).
And stock with the windows background. No pop up with install windows now or anything...
The W7 DVD work no problem if read after boot.
I try many way untill format one HDD and make it boot with just this one alone like "first install" : same result.
I think now than the probleme come from this mustly.
No clean install so the rest from the old install who put the mess stay also, something like that.
I'm trying to check online how to fix that and contact microsoft directly.
I would like the simple solution: go to the seller as customer care. But I live in 3rd World Country, and I would like don't go in another country to reinstall cleanly windows!!!

Query-ing to MSSQL every second... would there be no problem?

i am yet new to java programming.
i have this project which calls for connecting to MSSQL and
echoing transactions committed to the database each time
a transaction at card reader is carried out. It's actually a
timekeeping data collection's magnetic card readers with
users swiping their cards at arbitrary time.
Apparently, the card reader needs a visual presentation of
each user's transactions because it has been my headache
attending to their concerns about what exactly happens
when they swipe their cards. Much as there's a light indicator
on the cardreader, still it doesn't make sense to them.
(for the record, the company bought that system from a third-party
vendor)
My concern is, would there be no problem that may surface if
i query to MSSQL at regular interval in seconds? I used TRIGGERS
to fire newly committed record to a temporary table (which i regularly
purge so that connection to it would be lightweight), and which
i access every second just to display
the last 3 transactions. Well, i completed the program and tested
it. So far, no problem. However, i dread about coming across
a so-to-speak "bomb"( which paralyzes the whole network and makes
my application unusable due to threats) when my program
has been fully implemented.
Is there no way other than per second query? pls help. =)
and by the way, transactions are flashed on
screen a little longer after the user has already swiped.

Why not just grab the last 3 transactions and not
worry about this temp table?

it has 1 pair of card readers; ie. one for IN and one for OUT

The system may have a program that displays each transaction
but it doesn't filter its display ;i.e., users get mixed up with
both IN and OUT transactins both surfacing at the program's evnt
window. apparently, it isn't designed for users consumption.
hence, i made my own, echoing what has just been committed to the
database to the screen (of pc which my program is running on).
my plan is to have 2 screens -- one for OUT and one for IN station.
the info which i display is descriptive. therefore, users would know
what exactly happen to their transactions.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you tried closing all apps via the iPad's multitasking bar and then doing a soft-reset and seeing that helps ? To close all apps :
iOS 7: double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag each app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

When I plug in ipod, it connects/disconnects every second, forever..Win-7

My ipod worked fine when I was running XP, but when I changed to Windows 7 (32bit), it started doing this thing where it would disconnect and connect every second, for as long as it's little heart desired.
i tried:
-letting it die
-restarting it
-all possible solutions provided by itunes help
-putting it into disk mode
-reformatting it (it worked on dad's comp: win xp)
other facts:
-it still charges
-still plays music when not connected to computer

Having the same problem with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Started about a month ago. Gen 1 iPod video that I have updates and connects fine, just not my 4Gen Nano. Sent it in for repair, they sent me back a different one, having the same problem.

Create data merged document with data on every second page?

Is it possible to create a data merged document with the variable data only on every second page?
I have set up the pages with the variable data as a master page (on every odd page) with the text box and paragraph style all set up, and I have set 'override master page items' so the data can be placed, but InDesign seems to freeze up when I try to create the merged document?

There should be no problem doing the merge with a two-page master and a two-page template document with fields only on one page (and off the top of my head there's no reason to move them off the master page if that's where you put them). I think the problem here is that rachrachm already has a file of 500 pages (based on another thread asking how to apply masters to every other page).
It's potentially possible to simply place the data file (without the header row) as a text file and auto-flow through the master page frames (can't say for sure without seeing the files), or if the pages without the merge fields are the same just, remove all but the first two pages from the template and do the merge.
As I metioned earlier, though, this is a very inefficient method of producing that sort of document. A true variable data print flow would be better (you'd need to find a commercial printer who can do it with your data file), or the home version would be to make one single page file for the static content, print 250 copies (plus a few extras, just in case), then make a single page merge template, do the merge, and print that on the back of the already printed pages, or as a separate page. It is immeasurably faster to print multiple copies of a document than it is to print a document that has multiple identical pages.

"Last devices used" menu every second over Ovi map...

I installed Ovi Maps on my phone, and have a huge problem with it: Every second the"Last devices used" pops up and goes away again.
Since a few years I own (and use) a Nokia N95, and I just used 'Setup Nokia Maps Update 1.0.8.exe' to get Ovi maps on my phone. Apparently I had to use 'Nokia Software Updater' to make sure I got the latest version. Done that too.Next step is to use the Nokia Map Loader to get the maps on there. Done that too.
Here is the version info of the installed map:
I have Bluetooth enabled. Now, when I use the maps, every second the"Last devices used" pops up and goes away again. Mildly irritating would be a severe understatement here. Switching Bluetooth off and starting the map again gives the question "Bluetooth is currently switched off. Switch on?". Every second. It seems impossible to answer the popup-question or do something with the popup-menu.
Is this a known prob by anyone, and can you please tell me a fix or workaround (preferably a fix of course)?

And I got a nippy reply from the Benelux Nokia Care.
The trick is I had to go to Tools -> Settings -> General -> Positioning -> Positioning Methods, and switch off 'Bluetooth GPS'. I think I always ahd this switched on and it never complained with the standard Nokia maps, but I'm not sure - I think I saw that menu only once, when I was palying with my GPS and the original maps.
But hey, it's fixed. Cool!

Updating JTable every second, want to ignore these events in my listener

I have a JTable that I update every second using
table.getModel().setValueAt(data, row, col);I'm also reacting to when the user clicks on a row in a the table, using a ListSelectionListener:

If it's a JXTable, valueChanged() is called with every update. Annoying!
To compile/run the JXTable version you'll need something like
java -cp swingx-1.0.jar:. TestAs for the events themselves, I added print statements with e.toString() and the events are not distinguishable from user interaction. I wonder if this is a JXTable bug or feature.

Digital (optical) audio jerks on and off every second or so

Sudenly got this annoying problem, when sound on optical audio cuts off and on again repeatedly every second or so. As if there was a wire with bad connection. The optical cable is fine thou, i checked with my other macbook.
So that must be a problem with my main macbook. I restarted it in hope that its just a software glirch, but the problem remains.
Sound from MBs speakers ir fine.
What to do?

Now there is no sound at all. When i connect optical toslink there is no sound. When i connect usual 3.5mm jack to analog system, it sounds ok.
I can see the red light, but there is no sound. What could it be? Software or hardware problem?

Suspends only every second time when lid closed

Hello everybody, my problem is as the subject: to suspend I have to close usually the laptop lid twice.
I'm using kde, but I have also used years ago fluxbox, tweaking scripts and using laptop-mode (which is not running now). Thanks in advance for every idea where to look.

I actually do not understand who comands at the end - this handler.sh or the settings in Kde-powermanaging, I guess it's the second, I did remove the actions for suspend on lid close time ago. I made a test now, when I change handler.sh and check "do nothing when lid close" in kde powersettings happens exact the same: performs suspend every second time only.

Write to measurement file VI - every second, is that too fast ?

I use the write to measurement file VI to save 5 values + a comment to a file. The VI is in a loop. The VI adds new values to the same file every time it is called. In one of the tutorials it is said "VIs can be more efficient if you avoid opening and closing the same files frequently". I understand that; the write to measurement file VI does open and close the same file every time it is called.
I want the VI called every second to save new data. Tests I did with this rate did show problems. However, what is meant by frequently? Every second? Every millisecond? So my question is: is saving every 1 second, like I want, likely to cause problems, or isn't that time period hardly a problem? Or is there a better solution (although this VI gives me all possibilities I want, including saving a comment and saving to multiple files with nice filenames; I would really like to use this VI).

The answer lies halfway between mine and Nukem's answers. Instead of storing all values in a shift register until the end, you simply store them, for say 1 hour, and append to the file. This also enables you to save some of your data in the event of a power failure or something.
Use a nested for loop, the inner loop will run for say, 50 or 100 iterations, storing values in a shift register array. Upon exiting this loop, the data is appended to your file. The outer for loop will run for how many iterations out need.
For some simple examples, lets say you need 10,000 loops and you want to save every 100 iterations. Have the inner loop run 100 times and the outer loop run 100 times.

Charge led blinks every second when Laptop NX9420 is turned off.

I have a new battery, in a HP Compaq NX9420 and it can run the laptop for 2 hours isch,
it can also run it on power adaptor only, battery removed, so both battery and charger is ok.
But,
When turning off the laptop from within windows it goes off and all is normal, after some 3-12 hours the charge led starts to blink amber/orange every second, if I press on/off button nothing happens, I have to remove the battery and slap it in again then it starts,
(after pressing on/off ofc.) the battery is slightly drained what I can see?
checked everything in bios but nothing
tested also HP Battery check and it says all ok.
Motherboard busted?
RTC battery weak? I still keeps track of time and settings bioswise.

ToolBoxTools.addEventListener only works every second time

Hi!
Our layouts pretty often click on the "page tool" by mistake and it happened a few times, that they changes the size of the page without even noticing. Because there is no way to remove the tool from the toolbar (I guess?), I wanted to write a script, that at least shows a message, that the page tool ("Seitenwerkzeug" in german) was selected. Unfortunately the event listener only works every second time:
1. indesign starts > selection tool is active
2. click on page tool > message appears > page tool is active
3. click on "another tool1" > "another tool1" is active
4. click on "another tool2" > "another tool1" is active
5. click on page tool > nothing happens, the icon of the page tool is active, but the icon of the "another tool2" is still active, too, and "another tool2" is still activated
6. click on "another tool3" > "another tool3" is active
7. click on page tool > message appears > page tool is active
8. ......
Any idea why that is?

At the beginning I tried to use an confirm message instead of an alert, which had the same problem and I thought it might be because the changing doesn't work... but it seems I can't even work with the information without something "crashing" in the background?

Hi Anke,
The problem, I think, comes from the fact that the Page Tool selection event (which you listen to via afterAttributeChanged) needs some time to complete. Since the alert() or confirm() instruction gives the focus to a new modal window before the event life-cycle is finished, the GUI becomes instable, the PageTool icon state is not properly restored, and your event management goes wrong.
A way to solve this might be to queue a temporary IdleEvent listener once the Page Tool selection event is caught. That is, we do not initiate any modal dialog as long as the GUI is refreshing.
Something like this:

well , i'm going to tell you what exactly is the business.
we have two distributed databases , 'local_db' and 'remote_db'.
'local_db' is ours, i mean we desinged and created it . it contains our own views tables. but it contains no data at all.
we get our data from the remote_db. this remote_db is located on the stock exchange. it is not ours, we did not create it, but we have the privilage to read form its tables.(only select ). in other words , the stock exchange is the our data vendor.
tha changes that takes palce in the remote_db occures every second.And i urgently need to copy these changes on time to my database(local_db)

Page numbering every second page

Hi guys,
ok I have a 200 page booklet I'm doing, very simple - a notes page on the left hand side and then the contacts details on the right. But in the top right corner I need a page number that correlates with the contact. Problem is if I make page numbers it'll have them as 24, 26, 28 etc when that's not what I want.
Is there a way to skip a page and just page number every second page?

It isn't entirely clear, but are we dealing with one person's contact info per page, or many? Sounds like 1.
If it is, as I mentioned in your other thread, you could set this up as a Data Merge project. Create a two-page template spread, Add whatever you need for the notes page to the left page, and put all of your data fields on the right. You can include a number as one of the fields and palce it anywhere you want. This will only work with one record per page, though.
If you'd rather number pages after the fact, it's probably scriptable to do something with starting a new section every second page and assign the numbers, or you could just add a master frame to the master page and place a number list, which is pretty simple.
None of these techniques is truly automatic in the sense of updating if things are added or deleted, or if pages are rearranged. Any numbering outside the merge whould be done as the last step.
