If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.

Synchronising iPod Nano to iTunes?

I have uploaded music from a CD to my iPod Nano through iTunes on my laptop. The music is loaded on the Nano and plays fine but when I click to update Nano from iTunes, iTunes displays a dialogue box saying that the songs I uploaded from the CD could not be updated on the Nano because they are missing! BUT they are not missing on the Nano...can I synchronise iTunes with the iPod Nano (which is correct)?

Hang on a second here. That's not altogether true.
Even if the ipod were set to transfer songs manually, they have to be first imported into the iTunes library, and then manually dragged to the iPod.
After that, the songs stay in iTunes, unless you purposely delete them.

You cannot copy songs from direct from the cd. They have to imported to iTunes first before they can be transferred to the iPod.

I think the problem is that the iPod got set to Manually manage music and videos. It needs to be set up for automatic syncing again. Just unchecking that Manually manage music and videos setting does not do it.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod in iTunes (using the device button), so that you see the iPod's "management" screen. In the sidebar (along left side of screen), there are two headings (Settings and On My Device). Under Settings, click on Music. To the right, you see the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box at the top for Sync Music. That turns ON automatic syncing for music. Below that, choose the option to sync Entire music library (assuming your music library fits completely on your iPod). Otherwise, you can choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres and make your selections below. Then click Apply.

Synchronisation is moving my music (7th gen iPod Nano)

I’m having a problem synchronising my 7th gen iPod Nano with iTunes.
When I sync, it comes up with a message saying that a whole list of songs couldn’t be copied to the iPod because they couldn’t be found. This is because when I sync, songs that I’ve listened to (i.e. ones that have been modified and need to be synced) will sometimes get moved into an entirely new folder.
For example, I’ll have this folder:
\Music\The Smith Street Band\The Smith Street Band – Sunshine & Technology
Then when I sync, the songs in that folder get shifted from there to a new folder:
\Music\The Smith Street Band\Sunshine & Technology
And my iTunes can’t locate them anymore because they’ve been moved.
I think I also have some songs that got renamed as well.
I have iTunes 11.0.3.42 and my iPod version is 1.0.2 PC. I’m using Windows 7 32-bit.

Ipod nano 6th generation synchronisation fails

Synchronization of my ipod 6th generation fails although device is detected by iTunes and synchronization seems to run normally. Even synchronized titles are listed when clicking on the device. But once disconnected, iPod is empty. No error massage.
iTunes and ipod software updated recently.

I have 1 GB iPOD nano. In my computer it is identifying in My Computer. But, not in iTunes.
But, if I put the iPod in Disk Mode, then it is being identified both in My Computer as well as in iTunes also. Then, If I sinc OR manually drag music from PC to iPod in iTunes, it is happening. But after ejecting the iPod from iTunes. The iPod go on blinking mode only.
(Off and On). How to take it out from Blinking mode to normal I am not able to know.
Then in that stage If I reconnect it to PC, it is appearing in Disk mode in iTunes. Then to get it normal mode I need to restore it in iTunes. Then only it is comming to normal ipod activity after rmoving it from PC. But after restore there is no music na.
Software also updated from 1.1 to 1.3 through iTunes in Disk mode. I have downloaded lates iTunes 7.1.1 also from net.
Please guide me to solve my proble. I found so many people like me who purchased iPod of Apple suffering like this. Why Apple put this much tipical process for their product ?

I installed iTunes on a computer that has never had it on it before and it still will not pick up my ipod, yet windows shows it as well as the updater...I have ruled out iTunes and the cord, I believe something is wrong with the iPod itself....any suggestions? I encounter a problem with my ipod nano (2 nd generation) because it not recognized anymore by itunes. When I say not recognized I mean that the ipod does not appear in the devices field of itunes. I do not know exactly when this problem appeared : i do not synchronize often my ipod but before with my macbook pro the synchronisation worked. iTunes sees others devices such as my iphone 5 and iPhone 4 with respectively iOS 7 and iOS 6.0.1. My macbook pro is updated with Maverick 10.9.2 and itunes is the 11.5.5 version. My MacBook pro is from 2009. With previous version of iTunes I know that my ipod could be synchronized.
I did not find any solution on the Apple Support, so I decided to send this post. If someone already encountered this problem and found th solution it would be very helpful ....

Ipod Nano, Disconnect and Connect while it's Physicaly connected.

I got a problem with every Ipod Nano I had. My computer was acting just like I would have disconnect it and reconnect it during it was connected. This was happening 2 or 3 times /min.
I found the problem. There's 6 USB 2 Ports on my computer. They are in group of two and located on different places (behind and on the front). This problem happens when My ipod was plugged with an other thing on the same pair of USB ports. The problem is solved when you connect only your Nano in one of the two port ... let the other USB port empty.
I hope I'll prevent peoples to send back their iPod...

J'ai toujours eu le même problème avec mes iPod Nano. Mon ordi réagissait comme si je déconnectais et reconnectais mon iPod de son port USB 2. Pourtant il était bien connecté. Ça arrivait 2 ou 3 fois par minute !
J'ai trouvé le problème et il se règle facilement. Premièrement j'ai 6 ports USB sur mon ordi, ils sont par paires de deux et sont localisées à différents endroits. La solution c'est que pour une paire de prise USB, il ne faut pas connecter autre chose que le Nano et laisser l'autre vide. C'est probablement par manque de courant que l'ordi réagissait comme celà.
J'espère vous empêcher du monde de retourner leurs iPod

New iPod nano 6G does not play any Podcast or Video

I am having a problem with the newest iPod nano (6th G). After downloading some podcast from the internet and synchronise them via iTunes to the device it's not possible to watch the video. Audio file is ok, but Video won't start (I only see the first 'picture' of the video).
Is it not possible to watch podcasts?
Is it only possible to hear something?
I reset(re-start) the device three times, but everytime it's the same.
Are there any tipps?

It will play video podcasts, it will only play the audio portion and use the first frame of the video as the album art.
Just remember, if it is a podcast, to get to it so you can play it, you have to press and hold the button on the top till it starts speaking playlists. Then when it speaks the podcast name, release the button. Then it will start playing the podcasts.

IPod nano manual is no good!

got this big problem that wouldn't be so big if I had the right manual. I have an iPod nano 2nd gen (4GB), and for almost any questions I have (how to transfer photos, use it as a hard disc, etc) they explain it to me with what seems to be 3 easy steps:
1)Open iTunes, then select the iPod nano in the main window
2)Click on ''music''
3)Select ''synchronise the music''(for instance), then click on ''all songs and playlists''.
The thing is, there is no such thing on my iTunes as iPod nano in the main window. So the other steps are pretty useless to me. I asked a friend of mine who is very good at those things and said that it was like I had the old manual for the new iPod (cos he didn't find the ''iPod nano on the main window'' either. So what's going on? Can you help?

I'm trying to restore my nano, so that I can sell it. I'm restoring it on a PC, its a Mac formatted iPod nano 2nd gen. It goes fine, but when it's downloading the latest ipod software updates... it sometimes says the network timed out, or when i click resume.. it downloads .. but downloads past the end of the total MB of the download.. for instance, Downloads: 23.0 MB of 20.9 MB

As you may see from my different posts, I had the same problem with my iPod nano 2 Gb when I ( directed by apple instructions) decided to update to 1,1, had several problems with the synchronisation of files (songs) to the iPod. From Monday untill yesterday had several restores and nothing happened. Then decided to restore and retrieve my older update 1,0, and then the iPod simply worked fine!! Apple should see immediattly this issue as from what I've read a great number of Nanos are facing difficulties when updating to 1,1 !!! Please Webmaster or anyone from Apple take an attitude!

J'ai rentré mes coordonnées bancaires, mon compte n'a pas été débité. Ma commande est touijours au même point, j'ai toujours le même message qui me dit que ma commande est en cours de traitement. Je regrette beaucoup vos problèmes. Toutefois je ne comprends pas pourquoi avoir attendu des mois et des mois! A votre place j'aurais demandé un appareil de remplacement car vos problèmes doivent venir d'un défaut de ce MacPro. J'ai un MacPro 2013 depuis avril et il fonctionne toujours correctement. C'est le cas certainement des milliers de usagers des nouveaux MacPro 2013. Votre patience d'attendre aussi long temps sans demander un remplacement je ne la comprends pas.
Appareil avec défaut veut pour moi dire remplacement !!! et ceci sans attendre, déjà dans les premiers jours, une fois constaté 1) qu'il ne s'agit pas d'un péripherique (en déconnectant tout sauf clavier, souris et écran(1 seul!)) et 2) que vous n'avez pas des problèmes de vos logiciels, (en vous connectant dans le mode dit "sûr"). Si c'est 2 choses ne corrigent pas le(s) défaut(s)... alors l'appareil a des problèmes de hardware. Il doit donc être remplacé par Apple.
D'ailleurs pour un appareil si cher le Apple Care doit être acheté immédiatement avec l'ordinateur. Pourquoi on ne l'a pas fait lors de l'achât m'échappe également, surtout pour une utilization professionnelle. J'espère que vous prendrez le toreau par les cornes. Bonne chance!

Ipod nano touch 6g ecran blanc

Je possède un ipod ipod nano touch 6g qui est bloqué en éran blanc.
Impossible d'accéder au menu diagnostique.
L'interface revient quand je fait la restauration de l'appareil par itunes, mais ne reste pas quand je l'éteind.
Je peux l'utiliser uniquement en clef usb de 16 Go pour le moment.
La restauration a été testé sur Windows 7 et sur MacOs 10.6.8 le problème reste identique.
Celui-ci vient de chez apple suite à un échange SAV (donc pas une contrefaçon enfin je l'espère) et n'a jamais été démonté.
Pouvez vous me dire d'où vient le problème ? Car je trouve la clef de 16Go un peu cher.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.

Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity. A third party service will actually replace the damage part for a little less. Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
