bonjour,
j'ai un blog associé à mon site que j'ai construit avec iweb.
quand je publie sur un site FTP (pas mac.com) les pages du blog apparaissent avec un nom très long du style :
www.axylia.com/prosite/49AC73F9-23B0-11DB-8287-000393D3FA2C/C22F29C9-7E35-11DB-9 79B-000393D3FA2C.html
quand je copie cette adresse dans un message dans Mail pour annoncer de nouveaux articles dans mon blog à mes clients, l'adresse est tronquée, coupée en deux, les gens ne peuvent donc pas activer le lien ...
comment faire pour avoir un lien de page qui reprenne tout simplement le nom dans l'entrée tel que je l'ai saisi dans le blog ?

This depends on where you are publishing your site as to whether you can get comments or not - are you publishing to MobileMe or another host?

I have been experiencing the same problem. My mail app won't even open on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It will show as open, but the app will never actually show up.

Advice on moving a blog-heavy site to BC

I have a client with a news site built on WordPress. The site has more than 3,000 articles, or blog posts. Actually, the entire site is really blog posts arranged into various categories.
This site is very successful, garnering more than 30 million visits annually.
Needs for the site include posting particular ads to appear only with particular blog posts; scheduling a day and time for posts to appear; having posts that meet certain criteria appear on the home page; and breaking posts into multi-page articles.
My question: Is this kind of blog-intensive site appropriate for BC?
To be more clear, I am the content provider for this site. My team uses Wordpress to post a half dozen articles a day. The clients new web development agency is a BC company and they think the site would work well in BC.
I can't get into whether or not the client should make this transition. My question is if BC can handle the requirements I've laid out above.
For what it's worth, future needs for the Backend include the ability to notify an editor when a story is ready to be edited, and the ability for an author to choose what article abstracts ("other articles you might like") appear on the sidebar for his posts.

I would never have thought of using playlists.
Is that practical adding more than a thousand albums to a playlist?
And then to drag the playlist to "new media folder's Automatically Add to iTunes folder using your current library".
Presumably copying many thousands of files at once?

Could either of you comment on a new idea I have had.....
Keep the old iTunes open and work down through the list of albums in iTunes one at a time.
Any album that I want to move (as I don't have the corresponding CD), i move that folder using explorer to the new disk drive. [by MOVING rather than copying, then those tunes in iTunes will appear as 'missing' so i know these have been moved already.
Any single tracks (identified as an album with 1 track) that I don't want to keep, I just delete it within iTunes (or Explorer) as I work down through the list.
So gradually the old iTunes library becomes smaller and smaller, as the content files are either moved or deleted.
Would that work and would it be safer that moving files in batches using Playlists?
By the way, is there some easy way that I can count the number of albums that I have in my iTunes library so that at least I will have an idea of how much work is ahead of me ? ;-)

I am having a problem uploading .jpg images to my web site.

Hello, I am having a problem uploading .jpg images to my web site hosted on Go Daddy.
I am using DW CS5 and have been using DW to upload files for 2 years with no problems until yesterday. The file uploads but only the text is there. The .jpg image is a box with an X in it.
I checked the server and there are no images being uploaded with the files. I went to Go Daddy's FTP file manager website and was able to load the files with the .jpg and that method worked fine. As far as I know, nothings changed on my computer. I use Win 7 with an ethernet cable (no wifi) and have never had a problem until yesterday.
Any suggestions?

Java script problems preventing log in to certain web sites

Java problems preventing log-in to certain web sites when using Safari or Chrome browsers

I am unable to log into certain websites uaing Safari, Google Chrome and FIrefox.
Safari just gives me a red exclamation mark.
Google Chrome does the same thing.
Firefox at least gives me this error message:
"Your browser does not have the Sun Java system component installed or it is incorrectly installed. In order to run the platform, please download and install the latest version by clicking here."
So i click on the link and it takes me here:
http://www.java.com/en/
which is a download site for the latest version of Java. When i click on the download button i get taken to this website:
http://www.java.com/en/download/apple_manual.jsp?locale=en
which basically says that "Apple supplies their own version of Java". There is a link to the Apple store and instructions on how to get the latest software updates for your operating system (mine is OS X 10.6.8 - Snow Leopard).
I have the latest version of all updates, there is nothing for me to update!!
So i search the Apple store support area for the latest version of Java and download that (Java For Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8). Turns out i already have this version on my Mac. Still doesnt work!!!
Am not impressed. I read somewhere that Apple is always behind in its Java updates and if a website you are trying to access has a later version, well, to bad for you. If that is the case that is very poor form for a company with record Billion dollar profits. This experience has put me off purchasing further Macs.

Problem posting to group wiki/blog using podcast capture

I am having a problem posting to 2 wiki blogs using podcast capture and montage workflow. A similar montage workflow works great on another group wiki blog. I am getting this log error:

Site FTP information lost on closing DW CS4

I am having a persistent problem.
EVERY time the DW CS4 is stopped for any reason (including a normal closing of the application) my site FTP information is lost and has to be re-inserted manually. (This is similar to the problem with DW8 which was solved with the DW8.1 update).
I've tried deleting prefs and deleting personal config file with no improvement. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled - also without improvement.
I can't find any reference to this anywhere else - I am awaiting a response from Adobe Tech Support at the moment.

Yep, tried that. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Only two items come up at all. Both say they are modified and won't be repaired but they are on Apple's 'ignore' list and in any case date from back in July when I was not having a problem.

Where is my Site FTP Info

Hello, I have recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 8 to
Dreamweaver CS3 and now when I use the program i can see all my
site files etc. but all the site FTP information is gone.....when I
click on the Site Manager it is completely blank as if no sites
ever existed.
I probably have all my login information around here
somewhere but with over 20 sites I really do not want to be typing
this in again.
Where is my site info? Can I get it back? Grrrrrr, I hate
upgrading my apps for exactly this reason :(

What operating system? these two installs are on the same
box?
Is dw 8 still installed? And the sites are visible in dw 8?
Then open dw 8, go to dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
Select a site from the list and click EXPORT.
Save the .ste file.
Rinse/Lather/Repeat for the 19 other site defs.
Save them all to one folder.
Open CS3 dw.
Dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
Click import
Use the browse button to select one of these .ste files.
Dw CS3 will import all .ste files in that folder in one step

Problem with a embedded Nabble blog appearing on mobile site

Hi All,
I have a problem with a nabble blog embedded in my muse site that is appearing too wide on iphones.
The website is http://www.charlotteemilyinteriors.com/phone/blog.html
Works OK on ipads, and computer screens, and also on Android, but when you view this page on an iphone it's a little too wide.
Any ideas? My dev guy says it's "Something in the (most recent) post is outside of the css rules scope. Creating a broken appearance on ios"
The custom CSS for the blog is

I believe the issue is resolved as I checked the site on both iOS and Android devices but dont see the same behavior you have mentioned.

Strange problem with publication based on crystal reports, bwquery and DynR

Hi everybody,
I found the following behaviour when executing a publication based on a crystal reports document ontop of a BW query and dynamic receipients. This is what the personalisation looks like:
_____________________Default Value
PARAM1____________ null____________ @param1 based on my dynamic receipient list
PARAM2____________ null____________ @param2 based on my dynamic receipient list
PARAM3____________ 10____________ Default value for all receipients
When executed this happens:
- the publication starts
- the query is executed with the default values for the parameters
- the query is executed for every receipient with the correct, personalised parameter values
I am sure, the the query is executed with non personalised values because a) there is a cache entry on bw site and b) when one of the parameters is filled with an invalid default entry under personalization I get an bapi error.
I am not 100% sure but I think this problem is new since SP3 or a 3.x fixpack. Has anyone faced the the same problem yet? Maybe Ingo knows something about it.

thank you very much for your reply. I am speaking of the default value entered under personalization in the publication in CMC or InfoView.
The report only has parameters based on BEx varialbes.
If needed I can post some screenshots.

I keep getting problem loading page. I try different sites and Firefox will not load. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but it doesn't help.

I also can use internet explorer just fine so I know it's not a problem with my internet provider.
Unable to connect is the message I get. Then...

If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I'm not sure what the problem is. I've used Firefox for years and love it. I really don't like internet explorer. Please help.

Problems with adding comments to blog

Does anyone know if this problem can be fixed now?
Comments added to my blog were not visible when I opened iWeb. I tried to repair it myself and for a second clicked off 'add comments'. I clicked it back on, but the damage may have already been done? Can visitors now no longer add comments to my blog, or can this be fixed? I would appreciate any help anyone could offer.

This depends on where you are publishing your site as to whether you can get comments or not - are you publishing to MobileMe or another host?
