Problems accessing Free WiFi while running 3.1OS on an iPhone3G

I suddenly started experiencing problems accessing free public Wi-Fi networks (at places such as Starbucks, McD's, Corner Bakery Cafe, Noodles & Co, etc) a couple days ago. I re-booted my phone several times; cleared the Safari history, cookies, & cache; AND reset the network settings back to factory default. I'm still not able to successfully log on to any free public networks. In fact, I stopped into an Apple store & could not even access their free "Apple Store" Wi-Fi network.
Before scheduling a so-called "Genius Bar" appointment, I asked one of the Apple staff (many of whom are dressed in beach-bum attire these days) about my problem. She suggested that I upgrade from my current 3.1 Operating System to the current version (which I believe is 4.3).
Has anyone else experienced this phenomena AND did upgrading your software resolve the problem?
(It's sorta bizzare in the sense that I've never experienced difficulty logging on to free public Wi-Fi networks prior to this "episode").

As it would turn out...
The next time I connected my iPhone 3G to my iTunes-synching-computer, iTunes yielded the following error message: "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800000A)."
So I was forced to place the iPhone 3G in to "recovery mode" & to initiate a restoral process.
Here are the prompts (or iTunes message updates) that I received as the iTunes restoral process was running:
*I downloaded the most recent firmware (Version 4.2.1 8C148)
*Extracting Software
*Preparing iPhone for Restore
*Waiting for iPhone
*Preparing iPhone Software for Restore
*Restoring iPhone Software
*Verifying iPhone Software
*Verifying iPhone Restore
*Restoring iPhone Firmware
Ultimately I got a message stating that iTunes had successfully restored the iPhone 3G, that I should leave the phone connected, & that it would soon appear in the iTunes "device pane."
(I'm paraphrasing because I was unable to capture a screen-shot of the exact phrasing of that dialogue box).
Now after all of that...
The problem that led me into all of this mess still does NOT seem to be resolved. The phone IS detecting/recognizing the presence of wireless networks (free public AND secured private ones). However it is NOT allowing me to log on to those free public networks. (In other words, the free networks' "confirmation page" is not launching to then allow me to confirm my desire to log on to the free public network and to start my browsing session in Safari).
I'm about to schedule an appointment with the so-called Apple "Genius Bar." However, I decided to post here first to see if anyone had additional ideas/suggestions. The problem remains as described above (except that the device is now running firmware Version 4.2.1 - 8C148).

So it looks like mInsert is null causing the NPE. I think you'll have

How do I access my HD while running an OS on external drive?

So my MBP crashed the other day and when it boots it goes to Disk Utility X. When I tried to repair my HD, it says it cannot be repaired I should backup as much as possible and then format the HD. I did some forum and Apple discussion search and found a few similar scenarios where backing up with Image or Time Machine isn't a choice. (And of course I am one of the "not so wise" population who did not backup in the past.) One of the solution I found was to install an OS on an external drive and then retrieve files from the new OS. I've installed a new OS but aside from Disk Utility I cannot see my original HD. So here's my question:
How do I access my original HD when I'm running an OS installed on my External Drive? I've partitioned the ED to 2 portions. 1 is MAC journaled(?) GUID in order to install OS, the other is MS-FAT so I have easy access to files.
PS. One solution I read was to switch the hard drive from the ED with the HD on the MacBook and then retrieve it that way but I don't have access to 2 MacBooks. Plus I'm having the hardest time just trying to open my ED's enclosure...

So I tried to access it with Terminal and learned how to use command to find HDDs to gain access. Here's what I'm encountering:
I was able find the HD with "diskutil list" command but it seems to me that my HD was not mounted because when I did "ls /volumes" and "df -h" it did not show up. When I tried to mount the HD with "diskutil mount /dev/disk0s2" The response I got was "Volume on disk0s2 failed to mount".
Does that mean my HD is fried??

Firefox is not an interface for the computer, it is just a web browser.
You can close Firefox by selecting File > Exit, and restart Firefox by clicking on its icon. With Firefox open, you can use the Windows task bar to switch to other applications. You can also minimize Firefox by clicking on the minimize button in the top right of the Firefox window.

Bad Connection via Wifi while running on battery

Hi,
I've been quite happy as after a update of the Airport-Chipset my WIFI network has not to bee selected manually every time after coming back from standby - but I therefore got another problem - when using my WIFI on battery, I do have failed connections (TCP-Sessions) - I also assume packet loss or hard resets of the WIFI connection... as soon as I plug in the power supply, everything's like happy drugs and sunshine...
Anyone sharing my experiences?

Access JAR File while running App with Java Web Start

Hello guys,
I want to delpoy my application so that I can run it when I click on the appropriate button in a web page.
I have a Jar file for all the files that the app needs. No, not all of the files are included.
Indeed, I use JAR files such jdom.jar or postgres...jar that I must use in within my application.
How can I access these JAR files knowing that I can't point to files in a JAR file A from within a JAR file B, if the JAR file B contains the JAR file A?
The main JAR file that I put on the web server can be seen as the JAR file B and the other JAR files must be stored somewhere for the java classes within the main JAR file to have access to them.
I wonder whether there is another way to structure the project.

Observations: -
If the worker role is running under network service or local system, then it fails.
We emulated the same behavior from a stand-alone exe and that also failed when the exe was run under network service or local system.
If we run the same stand-alone exe from a user account, then it works.

Problem in table locking while running the parallel jobs (deadlock?)

I am trying to delete the entried from a custom table. If I schedule the parallel jobs, I am getting the following dump while deleting the entries from table. This is happening for custom table ( in CRM system).

And complaining that, deadlock occured. I am not sure what it is..

C3-00 charged for 'FREE WIFI'

Can anyone help me Please!!
I have had my C3-00 since last November, and it has been fine, I have used it to access FREE WIFI in other European countries as well as the UK without being charged . That was untill 3 months ago when I started getting charged for accessing FREE WIFI in the UK and in Europe, I have had the phone reset by Nokia and by a Nokia shop without any luck, It is set to always ask when it conects to the internet but it never asks!
Should I bin the phone and get a new one or will Nokia sort the problem?
I am on V 07.20 but when I try to download the newer version it tells me I have the correct version
So can anyone help me, it costs me more than the phone costs to acces internet on the move

Select Menu > Settings and Configuration > Preferred access point — View the saved access points and choose the preferred WLAN access point.
Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN > Internet Connection :Ask first
you are asked for the connection method every time you open an application that requires an Internet connection such as Browser or Mail.
Select Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal settings >
Add > Web > account name "My Web" and use preferred access point "yes"
After this setting become active, phone shoul not go to the operator web connection which charges.

Note: This timer job is globally deployed.

Please right click on portalapp.xml > open with > check all the available editors.
Also restore default edition in NWDS. Go to windows > preference > Workbench OR Web editors > click on restore default and Apply and then Ok.
then close the NWDS and open it.

How to allow application access to particular User while running payroll

Guys,
We are using Oracle Co-Hrms and payroll application and running fine,but one majore problem we face in every payroll,while running the payroll if any employee profile opened by any user ,which is inculde in assignment set of running payroll then system take much time,Howevery,rightnow we inform to whole department to don't use hrms between x to y time,but it is not effectivey properly and also not propery way according to this big Application "Oracle E-Business Suit,i think,there must be an opetion to cover this problem,
Is there any possibilit to locke all of the user temporary excep one to two user,who work on Salary Process(payroll).

The way you have defined is better to avoide this issue,could you please tell me one thing,is there any request in application to disconnect all the user forcely on the spot who are connected and allow again to login in application only thoes user who have System Administator Responsibility,
