Problems accessing music from original PC iTunes library after uploading to iCloud using iTunes Match

I uploaded my entire iTunes library to iCloud using iTnes match and then deleted library from that PC. I can aceess my tunes from iCloud on my iPad and work PC but when i try to listen to iTunes music from th PC that held the original library it looks for the file on the hard drive even though the cloud icon is beside the track in iTunes. Some of the tracks have a ! And no cloud but I can't play any of it. What's going on?

I have the same issue. My hardrive crashed on my PC and I lost my entire itunes library. I have all my music uploaded in the iCloud using iTunes Match and would like a way to download it all to my PC. Is there no way to do this?

Problem getting music from Ipod to Itunes

I have a 2nd Gen Nano and recently had to reinstall my operating system (Windows XP), which required me to back up my music. I had no external HD at the time and not enough discs so I sync'd my Ipod and stored all 812 songs to my 4GB Ipod. Now that I am back up and running, I have re-installed everything and again downloaded Itunes and authorized my computer (I only have one authorization left apparently, any way to fix this as well?).
The problem is that only songs I purchased from Itunes are in my Library. How do I get the 812 songs on my Ipod to my Itunes Library? I thought I could do it with a sync, but a window popped up saying that it would delete my current Library. I know little to nothing about computers so any plain speak will help. Thanks.

Be very careful when connecting an iPod full of music to an empty iTunes library.There is very real risk of permanently losing all the music.
To prevent auto sync, connect the iPod whilst holding down the 'control+shift' keys and do not let them go until your iPod appears in iTunes.
If you see a message that your iPod is associated with a different library and asks if you want to link to a new one, make sure you press "Cancel".
If you should click on "Erase and Sync" will erase all the content currently on your iPod and it will be replaced with the content of the iTunes library you just connected to.
When you've pressed cancel your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list under "devices" and allow you to change the update setting to manage the iPod content manually, and that will let you use your iPod for the time being without the risk of accidentally erasing the contents.
Then do any of the following to transfer your music from iPod back to the computer/iTunes.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump and iPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

I'm a neophyte-- how can I get our music on my phone to hear when phone and computer aren't both at home? Do I need to switch the ID on my phone? If so, how, and how do I not lose my pics and apps?

Here's the approach I recommend: You and your husband should keep your separate Apple IDs, and simply ask your husband to grant you access to his music.
If, for example, you and your husband currently use separate computers to synch your respective devices with, then on your computer, you would open iTunes and in the menu go to Store > Authorize this computer and have him enter his Apple ID and password. Then, all his songs would be playable on your devices.
If his songs are not currently on your computer, you would move them there. Type Help > Share Your iTunes Library in iTunes to learn how.

AVG is the most likely culprit. They have promised a patch, but you'll still need to repair your library yourself.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied & renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Whatever AV you use I would recommend excluding the iTunes folder from any real time AV scanning process, however it would seem that AVG isn't currently obeying such exceptions.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

I did this by going into the folder where the Amazon MP3's were and copied the link into iTunes under the add file link in the menu. This music was purchased before I had an iTunes account so I wasn't aware that they could've been automatically exported. I still have the iTunes MP3s on my iPhone. - download and install iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
- Check in Preferences-->Extended (i believe)-->Import that AAC is selected
- rip your Audio CD via "Import CD" command
- sync with Nokia and play

Is there a way to use music from multiple users itunes libraries on one iMac for a slideshow in Aperture?

I am trying to put together a slide show for a trip my wife and I took to England. I would like to be able to use music from both our itunes libraries in the slide show. I am using Aperture to create the slide show since it seems to be more versatile than iPhoto for this. Only trouble is that when I log into my username on the iMac I only see my iTunes library and similar when logging into her username. We have different music but would like to use some from each library in the slide show.

You can only use one library at a time in an Aperture slideshow, so I'd suggest to simply collect the audio that you want to use in a folder (export the songs from both iTunes Libraries) and then import this folder to Aperture. Now you have a project containing the audio files; you will see it in the Aperture Audio section of the audio Browser, right above the iTunes section.
You can use the Apperture audio just like the audio in iTunes to drag to the timeline of your slideshow.

In order to buy from another country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, BTW, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.
