Problems Accessing Website with Safari 4.1

We have a person that cannot access www.fowa.org using Safari 4.1 using Mac OSX 10.4.11 - any access problems we need to know about? Access is no problem on multiple other versions of Safari, Firefox, MACS and PCS. Cannot replicate the problem.
- thanks in advance

HI,
Try this. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies Delete all cookies associated to that site. Click the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Delete .fowa.org
Relaunch Safari. Navigate to that site and see if that helped. If not...
Quit Safari. Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the fowa.org keychain. Relaunch Safari. Navigate to the fowa.org site. Login with the user name and password as usual. Click Yes, when prompted.

  • My brother can't access his company's website with Safari or Firefox

This is driving me nuts. My two brothers own a home building company and paid me to design and put up a website for them. My brother Scott, who I recently switched to the Mac, can't access the site with either Safari or FireFox. He hasn't had any trouble accessing any other sites on the internet, just his own!
I can access the site no problem at home with Safari, my other brother can access it from IE 6 on his Windows machine, and Scott can access the site from the Dell sitting right next to his Mac using the same router and satellite modem.
Heres the error Safari gives: "Safari can't open the page "http://www.handhproperties.com" because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later."
I looked around in the network prefs, security, etc., but couldn't find anything that might cause this. Now this is just a very basic plain Jane website and I didn't include anything fancy. Mostly because I'm not that smart. What could be causing this?
I emptied Safari's cache and went in and deleted cookies from the site (GoDaddy must've put them there because I certainly didn't and wouldn't know how). Immediately after I did that, the Home page of the site loaded but with a bunch of errors and no images. If I clicked on any links I got the same error message as before, so I went looking for more cookies to delete but there weren't any.
He's on WildBlue satellite and my first thought was it had something to do with them because before, when he was on dial up he had no problems accessing the site. He talked to them and they claimed it had to be his Mac. The router is a cheap Lynksys that I don't think has any built in firewall.
Today I upgraded him to Leopard and hoped that a new version of Safari might clear things up but nope.
Any ideas? I'm completely baffled (nothing new there).

    Hi,
Have you tried giving the router a kick? (i.e. turning it off/on )
Sometimes that can do the trick even when another computer connected to it can access the site fine.

  • Unable to open a website with Safari

I am unable to open one particular website with Safari. I have OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. I have been reading all the related suggestions & downloaded & installed JavaForOSX.dmg and jdk-7u9. Still I cannot open this website (http://ctalanon.org). Can anyone assist me with this problem?

Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
    www.ctalanon.org
Launch the Network Utility application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Network Utility in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Select the Lookup tab and paste (command-V) into the address field. Press return. Post the output that appears below – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Step 2
Select the Ping tab and do the same.

Apple no longer supports Safari for Windows if that's what you are asking >  Apple apparently kills Windows PC support in Safari 6.0

So is it necessary to buy a mac to guarantee that a website acts like it should, or is the Safari for Windows enough?

Pages render the same for Mac and Windows in Safari.

  • Problem With Website With Safari and not Firefox

I have just started having a problem with Safari, which I hope someone here will be able to solve pretty quickly. Just recently, when I go to my online banking, I enter my username and password with no problem. My accounts show up. But, when I select one of the accounts, it asks me to log in again. Now, I thought it might be the bank's website that was having the problem, but when I use Firefox to do the say thing, it works fine. I'm wondering if something got corrupted in the depths of Safari that could be causing this problem. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Select your bank site then click Remove. From the same Menu click the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Select your bank site, click Done.
Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems with that site, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
Select Passwords. Right or control click your bank on the righ then click Delete from the pop up menu. Quit Keychain Access. Relaunch Safari. Try your bank site... if the problem persists, open Keychain Access/Passwords and delete: Safari Forms Autofill. Quit Keychain Access and relaunch Safari.
You may need to empty the Safari cache and Reset Safari too.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

  • Staying logged in to websites with Safari

    Hi all,
I'm new to MAC and appear to have come up against a common problem i.e. Safari not staying logged into websites despite ticking the 'stay logged in box' Yahoo! is an example of this.
I've trawled through the net looking for answers but it seems this has been going on for some time.
    Anything new that actually works?
(Running a new i5 iMAC with OSX 10.6.6)
    Thanks.

If you are running v10.6.6, update your software. Latest Snow Leopard version is v10.6.8 and Safari 5.1
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen then click Software Update.
And from the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click: Details
Delete the website url's you have problems accessing then click Done.
    Restart your Mac.

  • Having a hard time signing into websites with Safari

Hi, I'm having a hard time signing in my username and password for e-mail addresses I use and for message boards as well. I use Safari all the time accept for my school website that requires IE. Anyways, I use Comcast and I have been trying to sign into my e-mail address name and everyime I click "sign in mail" Safari says "Safari Can't Open Page". So then, I went to my AIM mail to sign in there and then it said the same thing. Then I went to this Apple Forum to ask if anyone knows what the problem is, and then when I went to sign into here, the same thing. So right now I am using Camino, but can anyone help me with this problem or is anyone having the same problem as me? Thanks.

I too have been having a problem of logging into certain websites with a username and password. Instead of logging in successfully with Safari, a blank page or an error would occur.
This happened for: citibank, comcast, sprint, and miscellaneous other sites.
This problem apparently had something to do with my cookies since erasing my cookies seemed to solve the problem. Here's how to do it:
Safari -> Preferences...-> Security -> Show Cookies -> Remove All.
Keywords: login error failure log in log-in unable to trouble

I will fix the spelling mistake.

  • Ftp access works with Safari but not with Netscape or Explorer

The problem I am trying to solve is that my ftp service works correctly with Safari but gives an error message when the ftp service is access via Netscape or Explorer. Error message is "530 Guest login disabled". These two web browsers will not display a login screen for access by real users; Safari provides the login screen. The server is restricted to real users only

Check the proxy settings of the programs that are not working.
Check your firewall settings as well but I do not think that is it.

  • Javascript items will not load into my website with Safari

I have a website that uploaded fine with Safari, www.onefineparty.com. Lately the site does not show the javascript photos, only white boxes. The javascript uploads fine with Firefox on Macs and with non-Safari browsers on PCs.
We have 2 macs that have this problem: MacBookPro and IMac G5.
Both have OSX 10.4.11, with Safari 3.1.2 (4525.22)
    Both have Javascript enabled.
Do I need to tell my potential clients to turn off Safari and use another web browser to view my website?

It holds the answer to your troubles. Safari Inspector show two major errors in the code.

  • Problem accessing mail via Safari browser

How do I access iCloud Mail via my Safari browser on my iPhone? If I go to iCloud.com it just offers me the option to install it on my phone.
The problem is, I already have it installed on my phone and it works fine EXCEPT at my new job - the wifi is not very good and I can access internet/Facebook etc but every time I try and load email it always says it 'cannot find the server .' I therefore tried to access email via safari browser - my other email provider works fine that waybut iCloud doesn't even give me the option to login, just keeps suggesting I install it.
Any ideas how I can check iCloud email at work? Can't do it on work computers, site is blocked....and there is no 3G/4G signal.
    Thanks for any advice!

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2618 you should be able to access it via a browser by going to https://www.icloud.com/#mail

  • Multiple users\passwords on the same website with Safari

Coming over from Netscape for MAC to Safari.
Here is the issue-- In Netscape I was able to have multiple users/passwords for the same website page. Netscape controls its users/passwords; not the keychain. With Safari everytime I try to enter the second user/password this wipes out the first user and password.
Is there a way with Safari to have mutlple users/passwords for the same website page?
    Thanks,
    Reed
