Problems adding songs to libraries, ipod, etc.

My ipod recently stopped downloading files. I assumed it was the ipod. I followed all of the steps to restoring it. That did not work. I sent it to have it repaired. They could not find a problem with it. They still have it. Today, I tried to download a podcast, and itunes would not download the podcast. I uninstalled itunes, redownloaded the setup, and reinstalled it. The problem still persists.
Any insights? I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance,

Did it Restore properly?
It completed the restore process. I don't remember checking to see if there was anything on it, as I trusted iTunes' assessment of the restore.
Today, I tried to download a podcast, and itunes
would not download the podcast.
What happens? Any messages?
How are you trying to download a podcast?
I go to the link through the store and when I click to download the podcast, iTunes reacts and the little clockwise-spinning timer activates for a split second. Then it stops, and there is no explanation. The filename for the file appears in the podcast list, but no file is written to the drive.

  • I have added songs to my ipod touch, but it doesn't seem to be updating. does anyone know why that is?

Yesterday i added songs to the "cloud" well when i enabled it on my ipod touch, it deleted everything i currently had on my ipod. So i restored my ipod, and dragged everything i currently had on my itunes library to my iPod, i have waited a day and there are still a lot of songs that need to be synced on my ipod. i unplugged my iPod, restarted my computer the next day, and those same songs are still not syncing to my iPod. any ideas why this is?

  • Please help me!! problems putting songs in my ipod

ok, i just bought the ipod video and am having troubles with putting songs into it.
i know when u connect the ipod to ur computer, it automatically syncs all the songs u have in ur library to ur ipod.
so i took mine to one of my friends house and updated my ipod with his computer. so now i have 1016 good songs. but i can't update it with my computer now because i don't have the songs (that are in my ipod) in my computer.
so if i updated my ipod w/ mine, it'd delete the songs i got from my friends house.
so now, i have to go over to his house everytime i wanna update my ipod, and trust me it's pain in my little toush
so please tell me if there is anyway for my to tranport the songs FROM my ipod TO my computer or just update it with my computer without erasing the previous songs.
    thank you

Correct. Apple made it this way to help prevent illegal file sharing of copyrighted material.

  • Do any of you have problems adding songs from CD to iPod classic?

I have to keep installing iTunes every time I plug my iPod classic into my laptop (I have Windows Vista OS). After I re-install iTunes, my computer won't recognize my CD player so I cannot add new songs to my playlists (and, thus, to my iPod). Does anyone out there know how to solve this apparent Vista/iTunes compatibility problem? Also, does anyone know how to actually e-mail Apple's Customer Service folks? I tried navigating their super-confusing menu but could never find a way to send an e-mail to them. Any help out there, folks? My e-mail address is: *******@********

Unfortunately iCloud requires iOS 5, so it will not be accessible on the nano. If the iPod Touch is a 3rd or 4th generation model it will support iOS 5.

  • I am adding songs to my ipod touch from my itunes library and a lot of the songs that i tried to add are faded on my ipod and will not play. it is like they weren't added to my ipod even though i can see it is there.

The songs will play in my itunes library but they won't transfer onto my ipod correctly. For some of the congs, I just have to locate the file and readd the song to itunes, but a lot of the songs, I don't know what the problem is.

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

  • Problem With Song List In Ipod Movies

Let's Say I have In My I Pod 5 songs Of Bon Jovi, If Those 5 Song Don't Have An Album Title, They All Apear In When I Press The Artist and then All. If I have More Then One title , let's say two of the five songs have different titles, the titles appear when I press the artist and if I press All, all the songs apear. [b]BUT If I Have Two songs With Same Title and the other songs don't have an album title ( meaning in all the five songs there is one album title, but not in all of them) When I press On the IPod the artist name, only those two songs apear and above it's written the album title and the other songs without the album title do not appear
how do I fix this, and what is the problem?
    Ipod   Windows XP

There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song is marked as part of a compilation or 2) it is missing an album name.
If the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens.
Also if tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous in place of a title. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod

  • Problem adding songs to library

First of all, a couple of weeks ago I got the dreaded "corrupt library file" error message. Tried everything I could to get it back with no luck. I finally decided that I would just start from scratch and re-add all of my music to the library, and in doing so, clean it up and get it all labeled correctly once and for all.
Fast forward to today. First time after upgrading to 7.3, I open iTunes and proceed to Add to Library... Well, it let me add one song, no problem. Then I tried to add another, and nothing. Tried adding an album, and while it popped up a window saying it was processing the tracks, they didn't get added to the library. Keep in mind that all of the music I'm trying to add to the library is already in the iTunes music folder.
    What am I dong wrong?

for some reason the edit function is not working - so i am going to reply to my own message...I jsut tried to click on some of the mps files in the media folder that I mention above ( but not showing in itunes) and they start to play in itunes.
also error above - i am using vista.

  • Problem Changing Song Info On IPod

For some songs, I do not like the title/album/artist listed on the Ipod. I have tried changing the info by using the "Get Info" function in Itunes, and multiple times I have deleted these songs and put them back onto the IPod. However for some songs even though the information in the "Get Info" section is how I want it to be on the Ipod, it still loads onto the Ipod with the wrong information. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there another place to change the song info? (I have also changed the song info in the "Properties" section of the file on the harddrive but this doesn't fix the problem either.) Any thoughts?

You can click on the info you want to change and then click again. DON'T double click, though. Then just type in the info. A problem I ran into was if you have different names in the album info you will find it harder to browse. For example, I typed "Word" on one selection and "The Word" on another. They ended up on different locations when browsing.

  • Problems adding songs to iTunes/syncing

    Hi there,
So I recently got a new 160g iPod, and went through the trouble of cleaning up my library. When i attempted to Sync all 9k songs i had, only about 2-3k actually made it to my ipod. So i reset my ipod to factory settings, uninstalled itunes and tried to reinstal itunes, and throw all my music back onto itunes. Now whenever I open itunes it says "analyzing music" at the top, as if i just dragged a bunch of new music into my itunes, and claims it will analyze roughly 5k songs. Well whenever this happens my itunes decides to crash and stop working. Im not sure if it is an iTunes problem, or my computers problem. here is the most recent (of many) crash reports. Any help is appreciated, just trying to get some tunes on my ipod.

Im sure someone will know better than me how to fix this but you could try opening windows exploror and going to the folder the songs are located in, rightclick the song, select "Open With" and pick iTunes. That might force iTunes to open and add the song then

so i went into my list of ipod update software that i have on my computer, and i tried all of them but none of them worked for the ipod.

Whose itunes account did you use to buy the music, yours or his? If you used your account, first disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes. Then on the info tab, select "manually manage music". Connect your ipod, do not sync, see if you can drag the music to your ipod. When you get to your computer, again disable auto sync, connect your ipod, go up to file, select transfer purchases made on this ipod to this computer. Your new purchases should transfer to your computer.

  • Problems adding songs to itunes...

Hello community. I recently had my 5 1/2 year old Macbook pro crap out on me. I was basically using it as a vehicle for my music in its twilight days.  I was worried I had lost my whole 7500 song library, but luckily for me I am signed up for itunes match, so it was not a problem getting my music library back on my PC desktop computer. I have run into the problem of not being able to add new songs to my library on this new computer, however. I don't purchase most of my music, though purchased songs do work. It's the songs acquired in the not-so traditional way that I'm having a problem with. I've tried downloading them in mp3 and mp4 format, and have tried every way I used to do on my mac laptop, like dragging it over or trying to upload it though my internet downloads page.  It's very frustrating that I can't figure this out. Curious to see if anyone else has run into a similar situation or if I'm just screwed. Either way, thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Im sure someone will know better than me how to fix this but you could try opening windows exploror and going to the folder the songs are located in, rightclick the song, select "Open With" and pick iTunes. That might force iTunes to open and add the song then

  • Help - problem updating songs on my iPod

I've been deleting old podcasts from iTunes and replacing them with new ones. However, even though the folder with the podcasts on both iTunes and my iPod after being updated showed only the current podcasts, it wasn't physically erasing the old ones from the iPod, so end result is that I maxed out on capacity. So, I used Windows to delete all the song files on the iPod. After that, I tried to update my iPod, and I got a message saying "Update is complete" even though no songs have in fact been transferred to the iPod. How can I make iTunes actually put the songs and podcasts back onto my iPod?

Anyone? I can't use my iPod! Help!!

  • Having problems adding contacts to my ipod classic, itunes help says to click on the "info" button.  But there doesn't seem to be an "info" button in my itunes under my ipod

I am wanting to add contacts to my ipod classic 160gb, the intunes help says to click on the "info" button on my device, but there doesn't seem to be an "info" button there.  I have tried restoring my ipod as well, twice now.  But doesn't work.  Any ideas?

'Info' is along the top of the iTunes window when you have the iPod attached and selected.
When info is selected you will find the option you want.
    Best.

When I try to add a particular album to my iTunes, it only adds four songs out of the entire album and just seems to ignore the rest of the songs. No error message, nothing... it just refuses to add the songs. I've tried it several times, but no dice. Can anybody help with this?

  • IPod Adding Songs Not in Playlist

Because I have too many songs in my Library, the iPod created an iPod Selection which I add the songs I want on my iPod on iTunes for me.
In the summer, my sister added songs to my Ipod as hers had broken. I do not have these songs in my Selection, but they (and others) repeatedly add themselves to the selection, and appear on my iPod.
I am not adding these songs to my selection, but they keep 'randomly' appearing. Can anyone answer my question as to why, and what I can maybe do to stop this happening? Thanks, Coral

    Interesting.
I would try unsyncing all Music by unticking the Sync Music box at the top of the Music Sync device age.
Then resynch just want you want and see if that clears the issue
