Problems after recording in AU CS 5.5

I'm new to audition and havwe a problem - probably something I'm doing wrong.
I am in multi track mode and want to record from my Røde Podcatser.
I arm the track I want to record to and place the playhead
I press record and do the speak.
The problems comes when I want to playback the recording. I pos. the playhead at the start of the recording and press spacebar to start playback.
Instead of playing back the tracks, Audition toggles on/of the possibility to arm the track or not (greyed out) every other time I press space.
What am I missing? Thanks.

Well, when you hit play (or trigger play with the space bar) the "Record Arm" light DOES go out--but you should also be hearing playback. The Record Arm light comes back on every time you stop playback, either with the space bar or the control button.
From your query, I assume that you're not hearing playback when you hit the space bar. Is this correct?
If you're not hearing the playback, is the cursor tracking across the track normally when you hit Play?
What is set as your playback device in the Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware menu? FYI, it can take some setting up when you're using some form of USB mic--since such mics tend to be "one way" devices rather than fully-featured audio interfaces.

Problems after transfering Cost centers with LSMW

Hi,
I have a problem after transfering Cost Centers with LSMW.
The first Batch input run created all cost centers in one CC Group erroneously - cause they should be placed in different CC groups.
I changed LSMW settings and made another batch input run - now the Cost centers were created in proper groups. I think that I deleted all CC's created in previous batch input run, but now I am not too sure, because there is a problem...
Cost centers exist both in their proper groups and in the one group mentioned by me before. So there is such situation that Cost center appears in Standar hierarchy twice at the same time.
When I delete cost centers - they are removed from their proper groups but the CC entry remains in that one group - all CC are there inactive.
How can I get rid of them. I tried deleting them - but it's impossible - the system doesn't see them.
When I run the batch input again - the same cost centers appear in proper groups and at the same time they become active in the one group. The standard hierarchy group is not UNIQE.
Please advice me how to delete these entries from standard hierachy.

Always recommended before loading into live system: upload in test system and check. check again just to make sure all is correct before real load.
In your case you probably would have been best to do a group change after incorrect upload.
Do Ambiguity check in stadnard hierarchy to explore all incorrect entries. Depending on your version yo ucan change in that function (ECC6) ore need to run a report. Before running the report check that CC master records have correct entry. The report is RKCORRH1
Again, try in QA first and run in Test Run

Battery problem while recording videos.

I got my ipod touch 5 1 month ago. I got a problem while recording videos. The battery was around 40 percent, but after I recorded a video for about 1-2 minutes. The 20% was popup, then it turned off automatically. While I turn on it, the battery will be about 30 percent. It happened several times. Is this normal?
Does anyone have the same problem?

Stereo Audio Record problem (While recording video as well)

Hi,
I just just bought Sony Xperia C3 dual yesterday. I'm having problem with audio recording. I installed the Sony audio recorder from Google play store but while recording in stereo mode with it the gain suddenly drops after 1/2 second(s). Same problem while recording a video with stock camera app as well, video quality is fine but the audio with it is,just worst. Tried third party app like regorge pro but faced the same problem. Tried disabling the AGC with it, but no good. Recording in mono mode just works fine and I get clear record.
Any solution?

@uliwooly This one i recorded today morning. The audio starts good & clear at the begining but just after one second it drops & then you can hear the bus engine sounds like waterfall. This is definitely not the typical "sony" thing to carry on.

How to fix the delay problem while recording? Can't set the Latency to 0. Win7, CS6,Realtek,C03u Mic

I am using Win7, with CS6, Realtek soundcard and Samson C03U microphone.
There is a problem that's really been bothering me. When I record songs the recorded audio always comes 0.1 seconds after where it's supposed to be and I need to fix the problem every time. How to fix the delay problem while recording? I can't set the Latency to zero. The minimum is 30ms and I still get an obvious delay.
I saw some previous discussions saying that installing ASIO would help. Is it gonna work on my PC?

You probably should look at a more 'serious' audio interface rather than the Realtek
Yes ASIO drivers are the way to go
If you want zero latency you need to monitor via your audio hardware (hence the 'serious' audio interface suggestion)
There are a heap of reasonable audio interfaces which will do the job for you that are pretty inexpensive and I'm sure that someone will jump in with a suggestion

Problem after 10.6.6 update! MDS running from the start on activity monitor

I have a iMac late 2009 and yesteday <unfortunately> I did the update 10.6.6! Before everything was working great cause I care the system with clean my iMac and other applications everyday and mostly I use recording programs like Pro Tools. After update the restart came and iMac's CPU was jumping at 20-30% without touching anything! I saw on Activity Monitor and <mds> was running! I want to ask what is that and how I can remove it and not running all the time. I close it from Activity Monitor every time the system starts but I want to remove it and don't see it as it wasn't before! After reading other topics, I did verify and repair permissions from Disk Utility and Mac Osx disc but mds starts when system boot.

This problem started happening to me on both my iMacs as well. I have a brand new 27" 3.06 Core2Duo which started to experience boot and shutdown problems after running the 10.6.6 update. My 21.5 3.06 Core2Duo (have had for just over a year) is suffering quite a bit more. I had noticed extremely sluggish behavior and many cases of the spinning wheel of lost hope. I run MenuMeters, so noticed a higher than usual CPU utilization - looking into Activity Monitor, mds was taking between 30% and 50% of my CPU.... ordinarily that shouldn't be a problem, but since that is Spotlight's indexer, I imagine there was IO contention. I plan on removing Bootcamp this weekend (don't really use it anymore thanks to Parallels 6).
Additionally, I have experienced horrible WiFi performance on both iMacs since updating. I have seen a few mentions on the Internet about this, but no real official acknowledgement. My icon in the Menubar indicates that the connection is still solid, however, I'm unable to resolve websites, etc. I assume that it is losing its connection momentarily to my router, and not reresolving with DHCP upon reconnect. This problem seems to be pretty repeatable when I use Fast User Switching... Anyone else having this problem? I have ruled out my router, as my Windows box and Linux laptops have zero issues. I hope Apple is resolving this issue -- making me eat my words when I told my wife that we HAD to go Mac since its so much more reliable!

Sound problems after export media in premiere pro cs6

hello,
i recently started usining premiere c6 and after exported my project to mpeg-dvd i noticed that sound quality is reasonably lost, than exported sound separatedly without video to wav and result was the same bad. The imported sound source was really good, recorded in studio- wav 24 bit 48000. Before i used cs3 and never had such a sound problem after export video.

Avitek Sample Application - problems after imported to Eclipse

I downloaded "Avitek™ Medical Records Sample Application" and started a domain successfuly with this aplication. Then I imported its to my Eclipse Juno with the interest to debug this sample application. I included every lib are need. Now I am getting the error "Default target install does not exist in this project" in every build.xml on the target "<project name=".
Other error I got is "The type javax.jms.Message cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files" in the PatientNotifierBroker project. I looked for javax.jms_1.1.2.jar and I had already added this library.
Have someone face both problems after imported this sample?

11g by default is case sensitive username/password.
You can disable that with setting parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON to false.

No longer shuts down after recording

I'm using TV anywhere master. I removed it to put on a different computer but it didn't work so I put it back into the original computer. It has Windows XP. Now after recording , it doesn't shut down. I didn't change any settings on the original computer. So I tried reinstalling it and looked for the updated drivers that I knew I had somewhere on my computer. I found what I thought were the correct ones but the problem still remains. Any suggestions?

I wasn't aware that the TV@nywhere Master supported this feature ???

Realtek HD audio problem when recording

Hello guys;
Been trying to do some recording for the first time since the OC was rebuilt. New specs as below.
(By the way, I couldn't get any sound at all until I reinstalled the UAA bus driver..., so it's thanks to this forum that I got sound in the first place!)
Anyway, the problem I now have is that basically the record level is way too high. I use Steinberg Clean 5.0 and was finding that although I could change the levels in the software, whatever level I recorded at I was suffering extreme amounts of clipping/distortion. (I should mention that the input is from a good quality hifi, I used it for many years for recording with my previous PC incarnation using my KT6 delta rig).
After much trial and error, I found that the only way to stop this is to have the recording sound level in volume set to - well it isn't numbered - it would be about 10%. I also discovered that although master recording level is adjustable the others - CD, mic, line, mix are greyed out.
The master level is really difficult to set (as I write I just discovered it's still distorting and I'll have to edged it down another couple of % towards zero), so I really want to change the "line" record level, but as I said it's greyed out.
In Realtek sound manager it's similar, in the record section there's an overall level control but no individual adjustments for record, only playback.
Incidentally playback works just fine!
Realtek drivers are latest 5.10.0.5928 downloaded yesterday from Realtek.
Anyone got any ideas please?

Sorry, I'm not sure if this will help, as I haven't used Realtek HD audio for some time (always used add-in cards). But in my experience, most sound controllers have an option in mixer to select the recording source (e.g. Mic In, Line In, S/PDIF-In, Wave, CD, etc). In particular, many offer a recording source option for "What you hear" or "Stereo Mix". Essentially, this would combine and capture the audio from every available source, rather than from just a single source. I'm guessing it's a long shot but maybe you could change your recording source to this "mix" type (hopefully, something similar is available). To reduce noise you'll probably want to MUTE other sources (Wave, MIDI, CD, etc.), though you could leave them enabled as well (try to avoid things that would inject noise).
I'm only suggesting this approach because you mention that the playback from your hifi is completely fine. Only recording from line-in is distorted. So perhaps, you can work around the problem by recording the mixed playback. It shouldn't make any sense for this to be happening but maybe you'll be lucky?? My (worst-case) thought is that maybe your realtek HD's ADC is damaged and therefore playback is flawless but recording is flawed...
Another thought I had is mixer settings are often stored within an ini file. If you or someone else could identify the file(s), then you should be able to view, and in turn, modify the numeric playback and recording levels. That should aide you in adjusting the levels more precisely, rather than guessing levels via the obscure gui sliders.
It may turn out that none of my ideas are helpful, but I wish you good luck all the same.

Audio recordings are slightly off after recording!

I am not having any problems with latency while recording - I can record with the plugins and it sounds just like it is coming out of my amp.
However, after recording, during playback - the audio files are slightly ahead of the metronome. It is almost like they were shifted ever so slightly to the left. I can't figure out what the problem is because it sounds fine while recording.
Also - it is working fine with Garageband, just not with Logic.
Anyone ever have this problem?

Rebel T2i Gets Stuck in "BUSY" Mode After Recording a Video

Hey! I've been recording video on my T2i for a while but suddenly, after recording a video, the camera would freeze in busy mode and then eventually shut off. I made a video explaing what is happening:

The camera powering off on you is the firmware crashing.
The on/off switch is really just a "software" switch. It does not actually deprive power. This is sort of like a TV and remote control... in that when you "turn off" a TV it's not *really* off... the screen is off and it's gone to 'sleep' but some part of it is technically 'on' and monitoring for a signal from your remote control. The same is true of the camera and the power swtich... it's actually in a kind of extended 'sleep' mode.
When you open the battery door (or even eject the battery) there's a micro-switch that cuts off power. That actually DOES turn the camera off (really 'off' because the camera has been deprived of all electricity.) Inserting the battery and closing the door causes the camera to 'boot' fresh again... so the power switch (and everything else) will actually be monitored and respond as intended.
So what's wrong? PROBABLY the memory card. In nearly all of these cases with the stuck 'busy' problem it means the camera is trying to write your video clip to the card and for whatever reason it is not successful.
I did notice you're using a SanDisk Ultra card (good). How old is the card?
A few tips:
ALWAYS format the card IN CAMERA (if you formatted a card while it was in your computer, then re-format it using the camera and pick the "low level" checkbox when you format it.)
I do suggest you perform a new in-camera format and make sure you check the "low level" option.
Memory cards do not last forever. It's also possible you've got a dud (nothing is 100%). The process of "writing" to a memory card is technically physically destructive (just a tiny bit) to the card. Reading is non-destructive... you can 'read' from a card millions of times and never wear it out, but each time you 'write' to the card and change the charge state in a memory location you will have ever-so-slightly caused 'wear' to that location. The card will eventually fail (all cards will). But for most cards you'll get something like 100,000 writes before it becomes a problem (years of heavy use). BUT... if you got unlucky and had a weak card, your card may be showing early signs of failure. It happens.
I ALWAYS suggest you own more than one card (I have lots of them) and test with a different card. If this is the only card you own, then you need to buy another card anyway because you never want to be caught without a spare card on-hand for just such an emergency.
Next... there are forgery cards on the market and some of them are amazingly good forgeries. What separates your really nice SanDisk Ultra card from all the non-name unlabled "junk" grade cards ... is that your card has a really nice sticker on it. It's not too difficult for a counterfeiter to print up a pretty convincing looking sticker. I and several others here will tell you that it's not just enough that you bought a top-name memory card... you ALSO need to buy that card from a known reputable dealer to make sure you're not buying a forgery card. Stated differently... I am unwilling to buy a memory card from a merchant I've never heard of before because they sell the same card I can get from a well-known merchant for $5 less. Screw the $5... I want "known" quanity and that's worth far more than $5 to me.
This is not to say that YOUR specific card is a forgery... even SanDisk will just occasionally ship out a card that passed they're quality test after being manufactured... but just barely. You get it and start using it heavily and the next thing you know it's showing signs of failure.
Could it be your camera? Sure... it's just unlikely.
Occam's Razor (a well-established guideline for critical thinking using the scientific method) states that among competing hypotheses, whichever one requires the fewest assumptions should be selected.
In your case the competing hypotheses are:
1) The camera is failing: Except that the camera doesn't fail at any other task... just this one particular task. That's a bit difficult to explain.
2) The memory card is failing: We've actually got well-established and well-understood failure of memory cards (a memory technology which will by it's very design WILL eventually fail.) We don't need to apply many assumptions here.
As I mentioned above... you need another memory card anyway (every camera owner should have at least 2). You may as well just start with that.

Problems While Record

Hey i have X-fi Platinum And i have been using Adobe audition .5i never had a problem until today after Recording 0 Tracksi get Dropouts or skips when Recording and playing the song on adobe?i called adobe but they said that its the soundcard causing it?any can help me out on this one plz?

IIRC, Audition .5 don't support ASIO or WDM/KS driver modes ... you need to operate using those weakly performing driver modes (WDM/MME/DS). I think the only way to go is increase the latency buffers (... this is not good way if you want to record more w/ software monitoring).
If you like the Adobe Audition, it would be best if you upgrade to Audition 2.x, which supports ASIO. There are also plenty of ASIO capable multitracking/sequencer software available, as like Cockos Reaper (shareware), you could use instead of Audition. Reaper may look a bit complicate out, when opened st time but, it's quite easy to use after couple of hours of running it. Also, if you don't need MIDI features, there are couple of freeware software available too (Kreati'ves Kristal, Sony ACID Express, Mutools Luna, etc. which all are ASIO capable software and supports effects plugins too.

Cannot playback video after recording

hi,
after recording a video on the playbook i am unable to play it back. When i try to playback the screen goes black.
In the past this was working fine and the above problem has just started.

Have you attempted restarting your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet? If not, please do so by holding the power button down until the device shuts off, then perform the same action to turn it back on.
Test recording and playing another new video to see if the same issue occurs.

Buffer overrun after recording?

When I do some recording in Captivate, since recently I get an error message after recording.
Steps:
Start recording, do what needs to be recorded
End recording
Captivate shows the "Importing..." dialog
Importing stops halfway through. Windows shows an error dialog "Adobe Captivate has stopped working / Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. / Check online for a solution and close the program/Close the program"

Some searching led me to the idea that Windows Data Execution Protection system has stopped Captivate, because of a buffer overrun (because of the Exception Code c0000409)
Captivate has been installed on that computer for 4 weeks, and earlier it worked. The problem only is present since a couple of days. The update for 4.0 has been installed.
Does anyone has a solution for this?
(there was a post with the same error in a different forum, but no solutions there)

We spent 4 days fiddling around with all kinds of settings, including disabling DEP, running as Administrator, running in Windows XP compatibility, disabling video acceleration, etc. Nothing helped.
It turned out that the Captivate project file (the thing we're working on) was corrupt in one way or the other. We created a new file, copied the slides, and now recording works again.
If anyone from Adobe cares to get the corrupt file, you can contact me. Can I get a voucher to upgrade to CP 5? :-)
