Problems authenticating after using "Find my phone"

I just got a 52 a couple days ago and used the icloud feature of "Find my phone" as I lost it in the house.  After finding the phone, it asked me to authenticate.  I put in my apple ID and password on the phone and hit "sign in".  However, the phone will not proceed.  I have now changed my apple id password via the website but still the phone will not respond, and I'm locked out of my own phone now.

The phone in your posession is the one that needs iCloud disabled.  This has nothing to do with the phone that was lost/stolen.

  • I am trying to use Find My Phone for people to follow me on the NYC Marathon next week.  Is there a way to set up a temporary User ID and Password to give out to people for this purpose?  I would obviously want to delete that log in info after the race.

I would like to use Find My Phone for friends and family to follow me during the NYC Marathon next week.  Is there a way to set up or temporarily change my User ID and Password for this purpose?

New York Runners has an app that is specially designed to do exactly that. It's (or will be) available in the App Store.

You might also look at apps like RunMeter. It will let you send updates by email, Facebook or Twitter. Glympse is another app that, though not designed specifically for runners, might also be useful.

What is the most effective way for me to help my family member FIND THEIR PHONE?

Effectively use is for what? On your computer you can log into iCloud at www.icloud.com and locate your device. Or you can use a different iOS device and the Find My iPhone app to do the same thing.

  • My phone is lost.  When I use "find my phone",  it says that my phone is "offline".  It has a charged battery and I hadn't turned it off.

My phone is lost.  When I use "find my phone",  it says that my phone is "offline".  It has a charged battery and I hadn't turned it off.  When I call my number it immediately goes to the voice mail.  Does that mean someone has found it and turned it off? What should I be doing.  I have used icloud to lock and send a message to my phone but if it is offline does that do anything?  HELP!!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It may be that someone has turned it off or it may be that it has been lost in an area where there is no reception. The best thing that you can do, is contact your provider and let them know that you have lost your phone, and change your iCloud password at My Apple ID

  • I have Apple ID for using iTunes, but haven't signed in. Now my Ipad stolen, how can I use Find My Phone for finding my Ipad?

Who can help me, to add my Ipad to Deviecs in Find My Phone. I was usually using my Ipad sign in iTunes for download music, but haven't signed in iCloud yet. Now my I Ipad stolen, how can I use Find My Phone?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)

  • I lose my iphone but i turn off icloud how i can use ( find my phone )   or another way or software

i lose my iphone but i turn off icloud >> how i can use ( find my phone )   or another way or another sofware to find my iphone
    please help me

You have to have iCloud enabled and Find My iPhone set to On on your iPhone in order to find it.  If you're saying you turned this off before losing it I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Download  the iCloud control panel for Windows, http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455 and follow setup info from http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12803 so that all you need to do is open the iCloud control panel, login to your iCloud account, and click Find My Phone to see the information on the device.

  • How do I turn off icloud on my iphone 4s? Can I still use Find My Phone?

How do I turn off icloud on my iphone 4s?
Can I still use Find My Phone?

You cannot use Find My iPhone without iCloud.
If you want to sign off of your iCloud account on your iPhone, you go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and sign out. It will ask for your password so it can turn off Find My iPhone before removing the iCloud account from your device.
    Cheers,

  • How do you use "find my phone"?  I can't find it and I'm not sure I installed that app.

How do you use "find my phone"?  I can't find it and I'm not sure I installed that app.

The app is not necessary; that only for tracking from another iOS device. If you set up Find My iPhone, you can track the iPhone from the iCloud web site:
    icloud.com/find
If you didn't configure Find My iPhone on the device before you lost it, then you're out of luck.
    Regards.

  • I used find my phone 4 hours ago and now my device is no longer showing in the cloud

I beleive my phone was stolen. I used find my phone a few hours ago. I tried to use find my phone again and my device is no longer in the coud. How is that possible?

The stolen device will not be found if
    * it's turned off
    * its battery has died
    * the thief turned off Find My iPhone
    * the thief performed a restore or reset to factory condition.

  • HT1414 is it necessary to put in sim card in iphone at the time of restore ? My phone is stolen and i am concerned that if somebody will restore it then i will not be able to find it even using find my phone.

There is no way that you can locate the iphone at all.
The thief can restore it and use it as their own.  You will never know or be able to tell what they do with it.
Very sorry.  Your iphone is gone.
Report it to the police and change your passwords.

  • HT201365 How to use Find my Phone with secondary iCloud account in iOS 7

The ability to use Find my Phone with a secondary iCloud account has been removed in iOS 7.  I want to be able to track my children's phones, but don't want to share an iCloud account with them.  They know I am tracking their phones, and this worked fine for us prior to iOS 7.  On their phones, I had Find my Phone turned off under their iCloud, and then added my iCloud to their phone as a secondary account, and turned Find my Phone on under my iCloud account.  When I would launch Find my Phone on my phone, it would show me the location of all of my devices and of their phones.
In iOS 7, Find my Phone is not listed under the secondary account.  What is the workaround for this?  I know that I can go to a PC and log into their iCloud account and see Find my Phone that way, but I can't do that from my iPhone because it is linked to my iCloud account.
Can I link two or more iCloud accounts in the Find my Phone app on my phone?

Just ignore any prompts you get. Don't click the move to iCloud button and don't visit me.com/move. Just keep using mobileme as you have been.
The ONLY clickable button is "Open iCloud.com".  I have NO other options. (Using Mac OS on a MacPro)
( somehow my reply was marked as a correct answer, I did not do this, and I can find a way to remove it.)
