Problems booting Windows7.....

Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago i installed windows 7 home premium on my macbook white (2010),
It worked very well at first, all i really used it for was programming in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, but then it would refuse to boot up giving me various different problems and then told me to contact the system administrator...
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Have you tried using your Windows 7 startup repair, Hows?

Thanks guys for the help. I guess the problem is solved.
The program I install maybe not compatible with that is why casues the problem or maybe the whole system go haywire.
I have reformatted my whole MBP and reinstall everything, just that this time I installed my windows program by making it compatible with WinXP instead of installing directing from windows7.
Thanks very much for your helpful comments =)

  • Problem with Windows7 and Adobe Flash freezing computer?

Hello All, There is a problem with Windows7 and my Adobe Flash causing my computer to freeze. So, Skype, videos, etc will not work. Have tried many things to solve problem. Can Oracle VM be used to run a different operating system...such as XP or Vista where Flash will work properly? I would hate to have a new operating system installed on a new computer. thanks

If you mean Oracle VM VirtualBox, then yes, definitely. A free download, it installs and runs great on Windows 7. http://www.virtualbox.org/

  • Dual Boot Windows7 and OSX on an HP 2140

I thought this was a great blog from networkjew.com about creating a Dual Boot Windows7 and OSX on an HP 2140.
Now that you’ve got your sleek little HP 2140 netbook, its time to blow away Windows XP and put something a bit snazzier on there.  I’ve toyed with OSX86 previously, and knew that most of the netbooks out there support it in one way or another, and many of them quite well. I had also read that Windows 7 played very nicely on these tiny computers, and it’s free for a few months, so why not?
Here’s how I made it work – there may be better ways, but this worked for me, mostly:
HP Product Expert for the Officejet Pro X Series.
Was your question answered? Mark it as an Accepted Solution!
See a great post? Give it a Kudos!

Windows 7 runs great on the 2140. I actually haven't had a chance to test all hardware functionality, but its nice and snappy; and as far as I can tell, all the hardware was recognized right out of the box. I loaded several of the Vista drivers/software from the HP support website and a few of them failed, but many installed just fine. I forgot to note which ones, unfortunately.
    Great netbook.

  • Netra T1 AC200 problems booting into single user

I have a stack of Sun Netra T1 AC200's. I installed them all with Solaris 8 10/01 from my
Jumpstart server. I allready have about a hundred U1,U5 and U10's installed from this server so I know it should work. I have, however not installed any Netra's with it before.
My problem is that I have no problem booting the Netra's after I have installed them, but if you try to
boot into single user with fex. "boot -s" then it would display the usual "Type control-d to proceed with normal startup, or give root password for system maintenance". Problem is that no matter what I type, I don't get a reaction!!
I have everything on console, and I checked that all my connectors are correct and of the type specified in the Netra user manual.
Strange thing is that halting and jumping into the LOM works without problems, same goes for kicking the system down to single user from multiuser...
I've also checked with installing Solaris 8 04/01, but same thing happens there.. I can't have three faulty machines either...
All leads and helpful hints are welcome as I've checked and checked, but can't find anything out of the ordinary...
    On beforehand thanks,
    Thomas

What does "printenv input-device" show you? My thinking is that maybe LOM might have control at this point. It should probably be "keyboard" or "ttya".
Also check that root's shell is bin/sh in /etc/passwd.

  • How to configure Grub or enable dual boot Windows7 & Oracle Enterprise Linux6

    Hi,
I had Windows 7 installed on my PC and later on I have installed Oracle Linux6 (Server).
While installation I didn't get any option to configure dual boot and now I am unable to boot Windows7.
If I do fsdik -l command on Linux prompt, I get the result:

I check the grub config file at /boot/grub/menu.lst but I do not see any entry for windows here.
Please advise how to configure grub or other way to make the dual boot options enable and use windows and linux.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Anand

Could you post your menu.lst file?
It's not clear which exact partition Windows 7 is on from fdisk -l, but you could try adding this to your menu.lst file:
    title Microsoft Windows 7
    root (hd0,1)
    savedefault
    makeactive
    chainloader +1

  • Problem booting w520

    Hi,
I'm having a problem booting my w520.  I suspected that I had bad ram (unrelated issue), so I ran the windows memory diagnostics tool.  I plugged it into my AC adapter that came with the laptop, and left it running since it takes a long time.  When I came back the laptop was on the screen asking me whether to boot from the windows boot manager, my SSD drive or my DVD drive, which I thought was weird.  I selected the windows boot manager, it gave an error (could not initialize BTI or something like that which I wish that I remembered now).  I tried to restart the laptop, but it refuses to do so.  Instead of starting up, it goes into a reset loop -- it starts up, I the keyboard LED light comes on, and then it restarts.  It does that loop every 5 seconds or so.  Nothing is displayed on the screen, and there are no beeps.  It never gets to the post screen.  The only way to get it to do anything different is to remove all RAM, in which case it does that 1 3 3 1 beep sequence.  From other threads I followed suggestions to unplug it, remove the battery and do all sorts of pressing/holding power buttons for 10-30 times.  Nothing helps.
So, I'm wondering now, is there anything else I can do before I let someone repair this?  It was working just fine before I ran the memory test.  Did someone who had the same problem find a solution to this?
    Thanks for the advice.

You have already done a few of the things I would suggest.  You could try one memory chip at a time in one memory slot at a time.
If you still have warranty now would be a good time to make a call for service.

  • Problem booting from Hdd

I have a problem booting from a external Hdd comes up with a command screen then a box with shutdown then restart any ideas

There must be something wrong with the data on the drive or it's hardware as you are experiencing a Kernel Panic. Run a repair on it maybe?

  • K8T Neo-FSR problems booting

    Hi
My Computer is having problems booting. Two days ago i went to boot my computer and all the fans started up and everything seemed fine, but then nothing happened at all, but my computer was still running (cpu fan is running, power suppy fan running, red light on tower has some activity at the begining but then nothing)(my monitor light is flashing like it does when the computer is off) , so I turned off the computer by the button. Then i rebooted the system and everything worked fine. Today I went to boot my computer and this happened again, but now it won't boot at all. I have had this motherboard since january and I have never had a problem before. Any ideas of what is going on? I am assuming that it is something with bios, but I have no clue what. Any help would be appreciative.

Powmax 300 watt dual fan ATX power supply
    TRENDnet TRW-423PI wireless pci Adapter
I have already unplugged any devices that are not needed during startup, I still have the same exact result, I tried to update the BIOS but it didn't read the drive because i'm assuming it doesn't know the boot order because that all comes the BIOS, so this is was leads me to think its something with the BIOS and not my hardware. My computer has a boot manager, I beleive its OSN??? This sits on my Maxtor drive with windows xp and solaris10 sits on the other Hard drive. Is there any more information you need?

Adding nouveau.modeset=0 to the kernel boot options solved it.
Is there a problem with using bigger font?
I had problems because the font became too small and almost illegible.
I understand that, but have you tried using a bigger font? Have you read the KMS article?

  • Problems booting into windows7 recovery partition

Hi, i have this new presario cq56-110sa, wins7 home premium bought some months back.
i installed wins vista deleting the wins 7 partition but the recovery partition is still intact.
now i intend recovering wins7 using the sys recovery partition without success.
upon pressing f11 and showing me booting to recovery partition, the system ended booting into vista .
    pleaase help, thanks

hi, can i ask a few questions?
    1) How did you install your Vista OS? that's a retail version right?
    2) how did you know that the Windows 7 OS is the one still the partition? Coz if it recovered back to vista that means vista is the one on the recovery partition
    3) where you able to create RCD's when you were still running Windows 7?

  • Nf750-g55 problem installing windows7 home premium 64bit

so i am attempting to build a htpc for a friend. got all the parts in the mail and started assembling the thing. installed the the m/b, cpu, hard drive, DVD drive, and power supply into the case and hooked up a old VGA CRT monitor and PS/2 keyboard and mouse. attempted to load the OS (specifically Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM)(purchased from newegg) which is where my problems started.  pardon the length here but i will try to be as detailed as possible to describe the issues.
initial boot, everything powers up goes through the MB splash screen and it asks for bootable media.
i put the install disk in the DVD and reboot, it comes up and boots from the DVD and brings up the windows install desktop. copies files, expands files, installs features and updates then auto shuts down to reboot.
on reboot it brings up the desktop and starts flashing the 3 little dots next to the words completing installation. it does this for approximately 2 Min's then the computer crashes and app 20 seconds later the monitor led turns from green to amber for loss of video signal.
computer reboots with MB splash screen then brings up the windows shut down unexpectedly screen "what do you want to do?"
if i start windows normally it brings up the windows splash screen with the 4 fireflies that turn into the windows icon, blinks once then black screens. few secs later the monitor led goes amber and the system reboots.
if i start in safe mode it will go Through the windows splash screen to the desktop and gives me the message "cannot finish installation in safe mode please reboot"
as of this time i have swapped the memory out for the smaller module listed in my Sig. i started with a 4GB module of gskill ripjaw but have read that windows7 sometimes doesn't like more then 2 GB installed so used a spare i had laying around. i also tried another harddrive, i have run memtest86 as well as a harddrive diagnostic on the installed drive. i have swapped the drive sata cables around a bit. currently have hd in sata1 and DVD in sata4.
i reflashed the bios from v1.3 to v1.5 with no change in the symptoms.
i also unplugged everything from the front panel of the case except for the power/reset switches and power/hdd LEDs. no overclocking. insured the overclock dips on the MB were set in the off position.
i also have tried to install both 32 and 64 bit versions of 7 ultimate. both fail in the exact same way. however a copy of server2008 32bit installed just fine.
i made a tech support ticket with msi and hit the highlights in my post there, the response was that this type of concern is typically caused by memory issues but since i had both swapped in another memory module and run memtest that it was likely a MB issue and i should contact my reseller for an exchange.
before making an rma request i wanted to touch base here and see if anyone might have a solution that wont require me waiting another week or so to get this thing up and running. it almost sounds like i may have a driver type issue that is causing things to wig out on me, since it boots OK in safe mode but not in normal mode. but i really dont have any idea on how to test that theory.
in advance thank you for any suggestions

well i tried out a diferent dvd and cable today and no go on a resolution that way.  and yes the ram module is in the dimm1 slot
as a hail mary i stuck my HD into my other computer and installed the os that way and then ran the msi driver disk as well before parking the HD back in the other case. amazingly the thing booted up just fine and loaded a bunch of drivers. everything seemed ok until i rebooted and got a bsod during loading into windows. at least now i have a direction to go with. the minidump info listed the nvlddmkm.sys driver as the fault. from a quick websearch this seems to be a issue with the nvidia driver sets. i am currently attempting to locate a stable driver set version. will post back with either success or failure results

  • FlashMX problem in Windows7

I have been using FlashMX  since about 2003 and have produced hundreds of movies and web sites. I recently upgraded from WindowsXP to Windows7. What a nightmare - Windows 7 that is. It as created havoc with many files.
My FlashMX authoring program runs slow - for example if I select a symbol to edit it, a marquee forms around the element and slowly expands to fill the stage - this can take 5 seconds where normally next input would be instantaneous - after editing -in return to the main scene the same marquee operates in reverse taking more time. This is making the whole creative process a pain to say the least.
I am also running a trial of Flash CS5.5 and find I am totally lost - everything I would normally do seems forbidden or is such a roundabout route as to make creation a prolonged battle of wits and is frankly making me think of using Swish. Adobe do offer a lot of help n the form of tutorial videos - these will take me months to view, time I haven`t got. The earlier editions were much more intuitive to use in my opinion.
Like many advances in technology, so called improvements or enhancements just complicate issues to the point of making them virtually useless.
My  question here is does anybody know a cure for the Marquee problem?
    Any suggestions welcome
    Thank you

Hi, since reporting the above problem I have resumed working in FlashMX for a fairly large project. I have tried a trial version of Flash CS5 but really do not like it and do not think it is worth paying all that money when the old software does the job - when it runs! Strangely, I was started using MX a week ago and it crashed on opening. I spent a day trying to get it to work with mounting frustration. I tried reverting to WindowsXP by changing the boot disk choice on the bios. Weird, Windows 7 will not relinquish control and other than unpluging the Windows 7 drive my system defaults to W7 (!?!). 3 Days ago Flash started working ok and I enjoyed some creative time. This morning Flash MX will not start again and I have spent another few hours trying all sorts of things. Here is the error message:
