when the acc version is create, then i open it in windows explorer but the file name didt display m4a...so tat make i cant change d file name to m4r for ringtones..y this happen???is it someone experience tis b4 n how to solve it...please help me...thank u..

I have had problems creating ringtones for my iPhone in iTunes versions 9.0.2 and 9.0.3. When I select "create ringtone" when right clicking on a song, iTunes brings up the bar at the bottom for creating ringtones then says...
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unexpected error occurred (11556). Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
1. My network connection is active. 2. I am logged into my iTunes store account.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and better how to fix it?

There are many ways to make ringtones. Google "iphone ringtone" and you will find instructions.

Problems Buying Ringtones

I have been having several problems with the ringtones function and iTunes.
First, after I have bought and downladed several songs off iTunes that are designated as ringtones the bell icon only shows up next to two of them...if I right click and select "Create Ringtone...", on the ringtones without the bell icon, it tells me that the song "can no longer be made into a ringtone". Why does it do this? Is there a step I am missing when I download songs off iTunes?
Second, and most frustrating, for the two songs that let me edit them into ringtones. After I have edited the song to the desired clip, etc. and after I select "Buy" the top of iTunes says "Purchasing..." and then within a second or two goes back to the apple icon and nothing has been downloaded or bought and I am left with still no ringtone. I am following all of the steps as they are posted on the Apple website so I am a bit confused as to why it won't let me buy my ringtone once I have edited the song to the clip that I want. Am I doing something wrong? Is something wrong with my iTunes?
Any help would be amazing!!

Servers are stuffed at the moment, as long as they are not charging you I would wait. If they are phone them up, that's a problem.

Is anyone having problem with ringtone repeatition????

I m facing this problem from the day i have buy dis iPhone 4s....its very irritating when u listen any message tone in a repeatition voice.....

Is this a stock or custom ringtone? What troubleshooting steps have you done? User troubleshooting begins with powering the phone off/on, if that doesn't help, then a reset by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release, if that doesn't help, this does not affect data. Then a restore, first from a backup and if that doesn't help, then restore as a new device or not from a backup. The restore will affect your data, will effectively erase everything on the phone and install new firmware and if from a backup will use the backup to put everything back on the phone. If you do a restore as a new device, it will do the same except you would have to sync all of your data back, so make sure everything is synced up as it should be to all of the supported applications (calendar/contacts).

Problem with ringtone downloads

Hi, I purchased a ringtone from the store last night (for the iPhone 4s) but it's still showing up on the downloads page as 'waiting'. It's been over 12 hrs now, I've tried downloading again but that hasn't worked & if there's a way to cancel it I can't figure it out. I'm not even sure if I've been charged for it yet. Any suggestions?

No, I personally have not. This is bizarre as Apple has extremely robust monitoring systems set in place to prevent this exact sort of thing from happening.
From past experience I have had great success with their support team via email. Just explain the problem to them and they should be able to make it right.
Or, in iTunes, click on your email address in the upper right hand corner then half way down the page click on Purchase History. In here you can see what really happened. If it still only shows one copy (or none) then that's not so good. But if there is more than one, click on any of them (or even if there is just only one) and click "Report A Problem", select "My question isn't listed here". I would select this option over 'I didn't receive this item" because if you tell them you didn't get it they'll probably just tell you to "Check For Purchases", (which, by the way, you should probably do anyways). But it's your choice for which one to choose.
If all else fails, just contact your financial institution and initiate and investigation.

Problem with ringtones

I'm getting the following message:
Some of the items in the iTunes library, including ..... were not copied to the iPhone because you are not authorized to use them on this computer.
How do I fix this... they were bought from iTunes on this computer and have been able to sync very well with my iPod's and iPhone... why no ringtone.. I paid for it!

Okay.. changed the r to a, then exited iTunes and re-launched. Plugged in my iPhone and still same message.
Oh well.. would have liked the ringtones that I spent awhile on and $2 (so happy I created only two and not a hundred!!!) ... of course the $2 for 2 ringtones isn't the problem.. the getting them just perfect is.. and for nothing. Anyone that has another suggestion I'm all ears.. will look for replys tomorrow. Goodnight!

Ringtone problem, assigned ringtones not working

I realized that the phone would not ring assigned ringtones. I made numerous phone calls to tech support and spent hours with them troubleshooting this problem. We tried everything
When your ATT account has caller ID block, in order to unblock the number so people can see your phone number you have to enter *82 in front of the phone number in contacts. In one of the first conversations I had with tech support I believe I mentioned this and was told that it should not cause a problem.
_**It does,_ if there is anything at all besides the phone number under the contact the phone will not recognize that the number has an assigned ring tone.
Also if you have the same number in contacts twice for any reason, (maybe a contact and under favorites) you have to delete the duplicate or assign the desired ringtone to all contacts. Otherwise the phone will ring the default ringtone, not the one you assigned.
I hope this helps someone not to have to spend hours workig on this problem

It sounds like you have assigned ringtones to some of your contacts, but the customized tones aren't playing, and instead you get a default ring when they contact you. Any number of things can cause that issue, so I would recommend starting by quitting all the open apps on your phone, and then restarting it:

Two problems with ringtones

1)My Pre doesn't recognise the names for the mp3 ringtones I made for the phone.
2)My first Pre broke and the new one will play but won't select the mp3 ringtones I made. The first Pre didn't recognise the names, but played and allowed selection of any of the ringtones as "Unknown."

That is strange, I have had a very similar problem. I downloaded ringtones on my first phone, but my second one will not download. Actually they download but they will not attach to a contact. Any thoughts?

Problems with Ringtone Creator app for blackberry curve. Please Help!

I recently downloaded the ringtone creator app to use to create my own ringtones with my mp3s, and i made one and it worked fine yesterday. Now today i went to make another one and it has been processing for two hours now. I just took the battery out to reboot it and see if that would help. How can i prevent this from happening again?

Itunes purchased ringtones are available in the U.S. only at this point. As Apple and the recording industry are able to come to terms in other countries, it could be available in other countries.
However, there are many ways to mane free ringtones from anywhere.
You can Google it and find them.

5800 homescreen problem and ringtone list problem.

i am facing two problems:
1.Usually when the music player is running you can see the song name and duration on the homescreen. This has disappeared for me. Calendar entries dont show as well. I use handy shell whose task manager i used to kill the homescreen accidentally. I tried restarting the phone and restoring the factory settings. Kindly help.
2.In my gallery and in my ringtone list there is this one track which appears 96 times! i deleted the track but the entry wont go away. how the hell do i get rid of it??!!

use option #3, its not usually what it is meant for but if you cant remove a file then that might be a way to go. also did you try to remove it from your memory card via card reader in your computer and see if this helps any ? the option #3 will erase everything off your phone so make sure that you do have a back up. also i think that you store your stuff on the memory card so try this first and see if it works for you.

Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for all operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. )
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.

Problem getting ringtone from Verizon

I bought a ringtone from his website, and I got popup window telling me I'd be getting a message soon to install the ringtone on my phone. I never got the message. Am I stuck paying 2.99 for something I didn't get, or can I fix this somehow? Thanks.

Have you tried to power off your device and turn it back on? It may come in then. If you don't see it in My Media section....then you could get for a refund.

Problem changing ringtone

I am having trouble changing my email ringtone. I keep getting the same tone even though I check a different one to change it too. I can change all other tones except email. Please help! Thanks!!!

this bug is really annoying and I wrote an email to nokia. In the end I solved it on my own after several tries. Probably it has something to do with broken (music) files on your sd-card but I am not sure.
Workaround (hard way)
Remove the micro sd-card. Now there should be at least the standard ring tones.
Create a backup of the sd-card (just copy its content on your computer).
Delete everything on the sd-card except for the "cities" folder.
Create a folder and fill it with some music. Don't use the music of the backup as there are probably some files that caused the trouble.
Now you should be able to select your favourite ring tone again
(Optional: Reset your cell phone. I reset it several times but I don't know if it helped with the problem)
(Optional: Copy other important things back on the sd-card)

Problem creating ringtones - "song no longer available" - PLEASE HELP!

I want to create a couple of ringtones from iTunes I downloaded. First I tried making one from a song contained in an album I bought and downloaded about a month or two ago. iTunes wouldn't let me (for whatever reason) so I bought and downloaded a new song. once it was in my "purchased" folder I added it to a songlist and then right-clicked it and selected "Create Ringtone." I was told I needed to go to the "Terms and Conditions" and accept the "ringtones" agreement, which I did. once I clicked "I accept" I was automatically redirected back to the song list that contained the song- there was never any option or utility to continue (after accepting the terms and conditions) on and make a ringtone from the song.
NOW, when I right-click the song and select "create ringtone" I get a pop-up box that says that "this song can +*no longer*+ be made into a ringtone!" WHAT is the deal? What did I do wrong?
Can someone tell me, step-by-step how to download a song and create a ringtone from it for my iPhone? Is there a tutorial with screenshots anywhere? Somone PLEASE help me out- I cant afford to keep buying songs just to try and figure this out on my own.

P.S. On the iTunes webpage it said that songs that can be made into ringtones will have a ringtone icon next to them in my iTunes library; but that's not happening- even with the new song I just downloaded.

Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> Update Firefox to the latest version by going to Help Menu -> About Firefox -> click '''Check for Updates''' -> if an updated version is found then download the latest version and install it. After that follow these steps:
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click '''Manage Search Engines''' -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click '''Remove''' -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

Problem With Ringtones in iTunes

Okay so I've never tried the ringtone thing before and I tried it out last night and it worked fine. Now today, I get to my computer and click on the "Create Ringtone" tab thing. It goes through the "processing" load bar and then it goes to the ringtone creator, but then this iTunes window comes up saying "This song cannot be made into a ringtone. Insert Song Name Here by Insert Band Name Here can no longer be made into a ringtone." I tried it again, and this time the rejection window came up immediatly. How can I get rid of this and make ringtones with any of my songs?

yeah but for me it never even let me get to the purchase part, it just rejected me after like 1.5 seconds the first time, now it just doesn't load the song/ringtone editor, it just rejects me.....
